APP
#1 I'd really like to see a notepad app that you can scribble or write on with your fingers or pen - so you can jot down ideas, graphics or script.
SYSTEM
#2 Retrieval of user content (music, video, photo) - this means in the event your PC crashes or you lose your media you can get them back from the Touch or use the Touch as an auxiliary safe-storage device.
IMAGES
#3 Option to turning off image auto rotate and/or include auto rotate for largest displaying of photo.
Music
#4 Icon that allows you to (a) play this song more often or (b) play song less often. While playing some songs, I wanted the option to either play that song more often (when you really like it), less or not at all (when you don't like it anymore)- rather than making the changes on iTunes and re-syncing.
That's probably going to take up bits to mark those songs but a good idea would be to use folders. PlayOften Folder (play these songs often), PlayLess and DontPlay. When a user selects a song, it goes in the corresponding folder. And the computer from time to time selects songs based on those folders.

Ipod Touch & IPhone Lists scroll jerky

When I am viewing a list of podcasts om my Ipod Touch (not cover art but a list view where I see cover art and the the episode name, the blue dot if it's not yet viewed, etc)
As I scroll down this list it's really "jerky" and does not flow up and down with the same fluidity I see when viewing music lists or even audiobooks. It's kindof annoying. Currently I have about 12 podcasts with a few with more than one episode. Mix of video and audio
Not sure when it first started (Itunes 9.0.1, IPod 3.1.2).
Note: I also have an Iphone 3GS running same OS rev and it also seems to jerk when scrolling thru podcast list. However, it's not as noticeable because the processor is faster on the IPhone
Anyone else see this?

I have the same problem with my podcasts screen. It's pretty annoying! I'm eager to see if there's a fix for this.

Ipod Touch Music List HELP!

Hi People, On my Ipod my music section doesnt reconise anything beginning with the letter J. They automatically get put into the K bit. I have done a full restore and that didnt work.
Any Ideas???

I've just checked my iPod Touch and the entries for J are filed under K for Artists, Albums, Songs and Composers!
Looks like a bug to me, and I have submittted a bug report to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html.

Ipod touch distribution list in email

how do i email a group on ipod touch? in apple mail i simply type in the name of the group in the TO: area, but that does not work on the ipod touch mail app.
How do i email and entire group on IPT?

Distrubutor mail id is like simillar to normal mail id, but internally it contains the number of mail ids.
Ask your network team to create the distributed mail id (in this mail id how many mail ids you want you can put that mail ids).
and configure that distributed mail id like you configure in the normal mail id.

IPod touch 5 - list rating column

I want to see the ratings that are done on the ipod (to sort by). but the dont show up in itunes. the column is empty. but the ratings are still displayed at the ipod.
remember: I dont want to sync the rating. just view it in the gui of a playlist of the ipod.

I have itunes set up to sync with my Ipod Touch and my Ipad. As of today, it keeps looking for an iPhone to sync with and give me an error message. I don't have an iPhone and don't know how to stop it from popping open with this error message.

As of today, iTunes has started searching to sync with an iPhone, which I don't have and pops open with an error message stating it cannot locate the iPhone to sync. I have looked in devices and only the iPad and iPod Touch are listed. Any ideas on how to stop iTunes from searching for any iPhone it is never going to find? It is annoying to have it popping up all the time with the error message. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You should really read the manual.

Restore. When given the choice, choose to use backup.

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

IPod Touch 2nd Gen. Problems

Lately I've started having multiple problems on my iPod touch, to list them:
1) the shuffle feature doesn't work as it should; in a playlist of around 30 songs it will shuffle through the same 5 or 6 for ages! I have to repeatedly press next for several minutes till it finally reaches a new song and even then it usually just adds that one or possibly two extra songs into its loop.
2) I'm not sure about this one but when I play a video once the video finishes it starts again from the beginning depending on whether or not I've got repeat turned on in the music app. As I said I'm not sure about this. This could be how it's meant to work but its never done it before and has only occured recently and sporadically.
3) When downloading apps if I move from the home screen the app is installing on, it just disappears and I have to start the download again; also it can just cancel any downloads for no apparent reason and it won't download anything till I turn Wi-Fi on and off.
4) The create playlist feature no longer works, I add songs to a playlist and the next time I sync my iPod with the computer it removes them from the playlist instead of updating the computers version to match my changes.
5) When I try continue a playlist or album I was listening to several hours ago it will randomly play either another album or the entire iPod library despite the fact that when I open the music app it opens at the point at which I left it.
6) My Google calenders occasionally disappear meaning I have to remove and re-add my account to regain my calender info.
I have restored the iPod twice, if its of any assistance my iPod is the second gen. iPod touch 32GB iOS 4.2.1 and it is NOT jailbroken (I don't do that sort of thing). My computer is a late 2008 aluminium macbook running Mac OS X Lion.

I'm not convinced that adding to a two-and-a-half year old post is going to get you anywhere.
You should be running iTunes 12 by now, while the original post refers to iTunes 10. So one would imaging that any problem caused by bugs in iTunes 10 had been sorted out by now.
I suggest that you create a new discussion, specific to your issues and that your description of the problems you have is a bit more detailed than you have provided so far.

What problem precisely? I regularly use a 2nd generation Touch and do not have any problems with it.
By the way, Apple do not routinely monitor or read these discussions. This is a user forum, where we help each other.

ITunes 9 & iPhone 3.1.1: no apps appear in sidebar for iPod Touch when sync

the new feature for managing apps on iPod Touch in iTunes is darkened and doesn't work or respond to clicks/attempts to drag apps etc. Also, no apps category appears under the iPod Touch device listed in the sidebar of iTunes when it is connected to the iMac (music, podcasts, etc are listed there).
Also, I noticed I have two more apps on the Touch than are stored in the apps section of iTunes (I did not sync the last apps with iTunes 8 before replacing it with iTunes 9). One is "Google Book Search" which I could not find in the iTunes store to put in my iMac collection (to match the contents of the iPod Touch); the other is "Rick Steve's Orsay Tour" which I found in the store but didn't want to chance having to pay for again ($4.99) when prompted to 'buy' it. (I had thought perhaps if I matched the iMac and iTouch apps that the new feature would somehow work; but I know I don't really have any idea if that will work at all.)
Is this a bug in iTunes 9 or did I seriously mess up by not syncing the Touch in the previous iTunes?
What can I do to have the iPod Touch's apps appear in the sidebar; and have the new feature for managing the apps in iTunes work on my iMac?

I too am seeing this problem. I think it is tied to the ability to adjust the apps and what page they appear on. The reason being that I keep un-selecting and re-selecting apps trying to flip something that will cause it to work. When I do the apps randomly (at least I cannot see a pattern) move around on different tabs. I just purchased two new apps and those wont even appear on the phone nor will apps that I have in itunes but had removed from my phone.

PC Won't Recognize iPod Touch 5G with iOS 7.0.2

I'm having problems transferring photos on my iPod Touch 5G with iOS 7.0.2 to my laptop running Windows Vista.
When I connect the USB cable from my device to my laptop, iTunes opens and begins syncing with my device and that's all it does. Autoplay won't open. When I manually check to see if my iPod Touch is listed on my PC (Start > Computer), it's not listed. Help!

IPod touch artist sorting

Suppose I have a CD called "Great Songs" with various artists like this:
Track 1 - Artist A
Track 2 - Artist B
Track 3 - Artist C
In iTunes, I like sorting under "Album by Artist/Year". So I want to make the album artist of this CD be "Great Songs" so that I can easily find the CD listed together. But on my iPod touch, I want to be able to look under Artists, and then find each individual artist listed. So, I want them sorted together in iTunes, but separately in the iPod touch artists list. I've tried various combinations of sort criteria, and album artist names, and grouping the CD as a compilation, but I can't ever seem to get both sides working. My iPod 5th generation did this correctly when I applied an "album artist", but I'm having trouble getting it to to work with the iPod touch.

Well after more research, I found that if you go to Settings -> Music and turn off the group by album artist option, it works. The catch is that you have to completely turn off the iPod touch and then turn it back on. I had tried turning off that option earlier, but without turning off the iPod itself, it didn't work.
Hopefully this helps someone else!

My ipod classic will not turn on! I have tried plugging it to a charger. I have tried to press the menu and the center button at the same time and it dosen't work. Although my middle button is stuck and you have to press it hard it has always responded and worked when you pressed it.! Please help me I need this iPod to start working!!!

Very confusing post - Do you have an iPod Touch as listed in the header or an iPod Classic?
To Reset, you must press the menu and center button for at least 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON.

How do I delete ebooks in Archives on iPod Touch 2nd Gen

The ebooks I've downloaded are listed in my iPod Touch 2nd Gen Archives. Since they are mostly Library books they cannot be read again.
1. How do I delete these books?
I do not have Wi-Fi, but use the Library to download books.
I sync my iPod Touch 2nd Gen with my iMac Snow leopard OSX 10.6.8
My current downloads are through Kindle software (Amazon), others with Eucalyptus...
Bringing up my acct through iTunes and clicking Kindle... NONE of the many books in ARCHIVE on iPod Touch are listed in the iTunes Kindle icon, nor is the Eucalyptus icon shown in this box. However, Eucalyptus is shown in the list of software icons.
It's no big deal if this Archived Listing on iPod Touch Gen 2 is not taking up any memory, but if it is, I'd like these books to be deleted.

That answer is where the problem comes in....
They are NOT AUDIO books, they are just plain normal e-books, for reading.
They do not show up on any lists on iTunes.
I would suppose that only someone who downloads ebooks from the Library would know
how to delete books from the Archives on iPod 2nd Gen. Audio books are handled differently.

Can I see my iTunes Wish List on my iPod Touch [ 4th Generation ] ?

Hi,
Is it possible to view my saved items I have in my iTunes account 'Wish List', or can I only see them whenever I log into iTunes on a PC or MAC?
I purchase most of my apps and music through my new iPod Touch so would hope to be able to check my list, add and delete items whilst on the move or at work.

How do I add a song to my iTunes wish list on my iPod? I keep looking up songs/albums I want to buy on my iPod Touch, but I can never add them to a wish list because I can't find the right button to push. I know the button is next to the price on the OS X iTunes Store, but it's not there on the iOS iTunes Store. Help!!!
