IPod Wifi, Ad-Hoc + ICS/Proxy

Ello people,
so i have an issue id like to resolve, trying to get my ipod online using an ad-hoc connection has proven quite a difficult thing. my current setup is:
a laptop connected to the internet with a wifi card, setup with an Ad-Hoc connection.
a https proxy running on the laptop. and Bind(DNS Server/Named running), and this so far has allowed to to make any HTTP requests through the proxy.
so wheres the problem? the moment we go off the http protocal... nothing work(and if i set the proxy server to a socks4 proxy, it just dosnt let safari or anything work...), Examples? Window live messenger App or even the default Mail app wont work on this setup.
Your probebly going to say why not setup ICS?? well that dosn't work either for me... mabey ive mis-set this up?
Just to clarify:
Laptop OS: Windows 7 x64
Proxy: CCProxy
iPhone OS: 3.1.3
so as u gather the question is how can i get the others working? is there a way to let the ipod use a global "socks4/5" proxy server for all apps?

however, the key point is you need to connect your computer directly to your modem, and set your local area connection to sharing mode.

If you want WPA, then your key_mgmt and pairwise are definitely wrong. I'd say don't set key_mgmt, pairwise and group at all, the defaults are ok.

Because the signal strength is not that high. How many arcs is shown depends upon the signal strength. Youdo not always get three arcs

Specific WiFi access point HTTP proxy always turning off?

My corporate - issued iPhone 4S which is currently sporting 6.1.1 has a weird issue - the corporate WiFi access point HTTP proxy setting always defaults to Off after trying to set it up with a Auto setting and entering a URL to our company's PAC file. My colleagues do not have the same issue - they are able to setup HTTP Proxy to Auto and enter the URL to the PAC file. I tried this with other access points (non-corporate) and it works fine. Is this something specific to the WiFi profile pushed to my device? I've tried contacting our company's IT personnel in charge and they weren't able to give me an answer. Hoping someone here can. Thanks in advance!

To remove access poit, go to settings>connectivity>settings>Destination>Internet>long hold access point and select delete.
For Gmail, don't use it, but if you remove/delete mailbox and then set it up again it should work fine, also heard that during set up if you reject terms and conditions and set up manually it works better ?

If your BB has a microSIM on AT&T and you buy an unlocked iPhone you could use it to activate the iPhone then return it to your BB, assuming your work has not locked this out. Or you could get a microSIM from AT&T, start an account, activate the iPhone then cancel the account and pay the $350 ETF. The problem with this route is if you had to restore the iPhone you would have to do it again.
Trust me, the camera on the iPhone 4s is not worth the over $1,000 you would have to pay.
You could also wait until next year when they upgrade the camera on the Touch.

Ipod Wifi being all screwy

My ipod Wifi says it is connected in the sys prefs, but when I look at the top left corner, the wifi signal is not there, indicating no conection. Sys prefs shows all three bars.
I have the internet off most the time so my windows computers have less of a chance of getting infected so I assigned my ipod with a static IP that lets me use the internet whenever. However this is not working anymore.
All of this is at my home network.

Saw may web sites discussing this same issue; many discussions point to hardware problems but there is no official word from Apple about it, which is disapointing !?? Few discussions point to software problem with solutions based on try and error, and they don't seem to work.

Ios7 can't connect to wifi ad-hoc network

I have a problem connecting my iPhone 4S to the ad-hoc wifi connection my macbook creates when "sharing" the ethernet internet connection through wifi, with iOS6 it worked flawlessy. I have no problems connecting in wifi to my router though.
Anyone experienced that? Could you try?

For what it's worth, I contacted the support team at Avatron (the developer of Air Display) and asked whether they had any workarounds. Here's what they came up with:
Thanks for contacting us at Avatron support about the issues that you've been seeing when connecting via an ad hoc network. I was unaware of this problem but after doing some testing this morning it seems to happen with one of our iOS 7 iPad 2s as well.
While this definitely seems like something that Apple needs to address, I was able to get Air Display working over the ad-hoc network if I disabled internet sharing from the Mac System Preferences > Sharing pane. Obviously the drawback of this is that the iPad will no longer be connected to the internet when you are using Air Display in this manner.
Please let me know if this is able to serve as a temporary workaround while Apple investigates the problem.

Clearly this is not a full fix as I can't access the internet when connected to my ad-hoc network, but at least I got Air Display running.
Their reply also suggests that this isn't a blanket issue covering all devices running iOS7, as only "one of [their] iOS 7 iPad 2s" was having the same problem.

facing a little problem after updating to ICS on my xperia U, I can't toggle the wifi connection off, not with a ZDBox toggle and not even in the Settings of my phone..
Is this a known problem? What can I do?

If you cannot turn the actual function off then I would advise running the update again and choosing the "Repair" option during the process.
