IPOD won't synch

I have a nano and I put too many songs on. The IPOD automatically created a generic playlist with most of my songs scrambled in it. I mistakenly deleted this generic playlist and then unchecked many of my songs hoping I would have freed up some space. Now all my songs have been deleted and the IPOD will not sync.
Message " IPOD cannot be updated because all the playlists selected for synching no longer exists".
Any suggestions????? I have tried everything I know. Apple call center was unhelpful.

The same thing happened to me i stil have all my songs but they deleted off my ipod and the window that pops up tells you that you can't sync the songs beacuse the playlist was deleted but it doesn't give you any options.

  • Ipod won't synch because it's synched w/another library

authorized new computer, but ipod won't synch because it's "synched w/another library" - how do i connect it with my new laptop?

    hey there,
That is the same for iphone and ipad. I assumed the machine you were authorizing is the ONLY machine you want to sync with. If that is correct what I said is correct.
If you want to sync your ipod with multiple machines then it is different, here is a video made earlier that answers that specific. There are loads of ways to do, and some great software (3rd party) it but this is the easiest in the video and all part of itunes secret ways. http://bit.ly/1device

  • IPod Won't Synch on New Computer

I just moved over to a new computer. Now when I try to synch my iPod with iTunes I get the following message "Attempting to copy to the disk "XXX iPod" failed. The disk is locked and cannot be written to." Is this because the iPod is not recognizing the new computer as its "home computer?" Do I need to restore the factory settings in order for the iPod to recognize the new computer as its "home computer?" Will this then allow the iPod to automatically synch again every time I connect the iPod? Any help would really be appreciated!

Hi hey how were able to put it on a new computer because that is what I am trying to do and cant get any help from apple because my warranty has expired..maybe together we can figure this out..thanks Vickie

  • My iPod won't synch on my new computer

I got a new computer and transferred my music and iTunes to the new computer. Now, when I plug in my iPod Nano and/or iPod mini to my new computer, I get an error message that says "The iPod cannot be synched. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem??

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
This is the iPod touch - connect to Mac discussion area. As you have neither a touch or a Mac, you might want to consider posting in one of the more appropriate areas in the future.
As to your specific problem, you need to Administrator access in Windows XP to make this work. I'm not sure how your account is setup in XP, but it needs to be changed to allow Admin access.

  • Older iPod won't synch

I have an older iPod  an 80 gig generation 5 which I cannot synch to the latest version of itunes.
Is there anyway to get this unit to synch. I thought maybe installing an older version of itunes may be the way to go.
or is there a way to upgrade the iPod software to synch with latest version of itunes?

    Hello walkerrg412
See if you can restore your iPod but first putting it into Disk Mode and then plugging into iTunes to restore. If all is good after that, then you should be able to sync your music to your iPod. Check out the article below for more information.

  • ITunes and Ipod won't synch up

AQfter a computer issue I was able to salvage all of my songs from ipod back to computer. With all of the changes I had to make to my settings I can't seem to figure out how to get those songs to synch up with the ipod.
When I plug my ipod in, it no longer updates, and the upadte ipod option is shaded. How do I turn this back on?

Can you post a screenshot or provide all the specs of the video's Summary tab so we can compare them with what is compatible with the 5G iPod.

I bought iTunes using my daughter's computer and am trying to synch those songs to her iPod. The songs show up as "purchased" and they show in the Music library. When I synch her iPod, all of the songs I bought are not copied and each song shows an error status "You are not authorized to play it on this computer."
What is the problem? HELP and THANK YOU in advance!!

How do you do this? I just got this and I don't know how to fix it. It's never happened to me before. What do you do to authorize it. Where do you go?

  • New Ext HD and Ipod won't synch

We have transfered all of Itunes to the new external hard drive, but when we try to synch my daughters Ipod to it, it took off all of her songs but the one that came on it. (She is turning purple and holding her breath!!) I don't know what we did wrong. The songs are still on the HD. I don't know anything about this and am about as useless as a box of hair when it comes to this. Any help would be appreciated.

Do the songs still show and play in itunes?

  • HT204074 IPOD won't synch

I bought an IPAD mini and now I can no longer synch my ipod how can I do both

As Roaminggnome said, adding the Mini is not related to the iPod nano problem.
    Try:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1369
    Does it charge?
    - Try another cable.
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
