Is 64bit support planned for all toolkits?

Hello,
some years ago a programmed a large application in LabVIEW 2010 with the help of some toolkits.
Currently I am thinking about switch to LabVIEW 2013 but in the 64bit version and update some stuff.
To my surprise almost no toolkit included in the Developer Suite Core Edition has a 64 bit Version.
Is the support planned or should I avoid doing anything new in LabVIEW since I can never use the large amounts of memory any computer offers today.

Sense wrote:
Actually the toolkits (VI Analyse, Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit, PID Toolkit) don't need that much memory and my program currently fits inside the limit of around 4 GB .
But still I want to switch to 64bit and I don't want lose the ablity to use the toolkits.
Of course I could find ways to reduce the memory requirements of a new program and always use the 32 bit version of LabVIEW.
But why shouldn't I use the 32 GB RAM I have if I want to.Actually that "32GB limit" is understated by vast orders of magnitude in theory...you'll run out of phyisical RAM far faster than Addresses in x64
I guess my point is:
The first LabVIEW version which supported 64bit was 2009.
Now nearly 4 years later I can't see any progress in the transition from 32bit to 64bit at least regarding toolkits.
This is just a guess (Fairly well thought out but, just a guess)
There is no difference in licensing LabVIEW x32 and x64.  In fact, I believe you can have them installed side-by-side (Never tried this myself)
Not many applications actually REQUIRE x64 as of today and very few LabVIEW applications developed with the current toolkits would require x64 architecture since (Drumroll please....). The existing x32 Toolkits WORK in a 32 bit architecture.
So, there is no market need to provide the existing toolkits with features that they do not take advantage of.  Are you following so far?
Toolkits that CAN and MUST take advantage of a 64 bit OS cannot be deployed on 32 bit systems.  What advantages do you feel you can provide your user's by moving a 32 bit TK to 64 bit?

  • SAP QM Default Inspection Plan for all Inspection Lots created in the Plant

Scenario: We have a Proto type plant in which Daily 15 to 20 materials are created every day. We have only one inspection plan for all the materials.
Problem: We don't want to do material assignment in the Inspection Plant header every time a new material is created
Requirement: Is there any way to default the inspection plan for all the inspection lots created in the Plant by Standard Configuration or User Exit.
Your answers will be much appreciated and rewarded.
    Thanks in advance,
    Thiyagu

    Hi,
In our case Creation of Inspection lots are controlled by QM View of Material Master. Our problem is to find alternative for assignment of New Materials in the Plan header in Tcode QP02, as we have only ONE INSPECTION PLAN. So our expection is all QM Inspection Lot created in the Plant should always get assigned to the SINGLE INSPECTION PLAN, with out doing any assignment of material in the Plan.
    Thanks,
    Thiyagu.

  • LSO: Ensuring learner desktop is "LMS ready" & support plan for E-learning

We are entering a time period with a significant rollouts planned for WBT's and on-line tests. Despite the efforts of our IT organization, our end user environment isn't quite as standardized as we would like. This creates the potential that when learners go into the Learning Portal to take a WBT or on-line test, things might not work as planned, leading to learner frustration and an increased volume of support tickets.
Examples of things which could go wrong include: (1) user has a pop-up blocker turned on, (2) user might not have the Java plug-in installed for their browser (or a really old version).
    So.....
    1) What do you do to minimize the risk of learners running into problems?
I'm especially interested in any attempts you've made to give users information to help self-audit their own PC's in anticipation of taking E-learning.
    2) What does your technical support plan look like for E-learning tickets?
What I'm interested in is what directions do you give to your Help Desk so they know under what circumstances they should route a call to a particular resource.
I  would like to hear from other customers who are live with LSO (300 or above) as to how you address these items.

Variability in content and users desktops are two major issues from a support standpoint. Some of our content is internal IP and created by employees with no instructional design background. For this we provide standard templates, standard creation tools and job aids to assist in creating a WBT that allows the user to know what to expect from one to the next. For desktop issues, we often identify known issues (a WBT requires a new version of Flash plug-in for example) prior to deployment and have the specific technology pushed to all user's desktops.
For issues like pop-up blockers, we note the need to disable them completely from the users Learning Plan where they access the content since this is a common problem. As issues are identified and solutions determined, we make sure the helpdesk is notified. This is then added to their ticket management support checklist depending on the issue that was originally reported. If the helpdesk (Level 1) can't resolve the issue over the phone then they refer it to the developers (Level 2) who contact the employee directly. The developers close the loop by communicating the resolution to the helpdesk for future use.
    Hope this helps.

  • Inspection plan for all materials GOODS Receipt

    Hi qm experts,
I have a scenario. How could I make an inspection plan which covers all materials with variable base unit of measure. Its because my client is using winlims for their results recording. I want to create only one inspection plan to incorporate all materials for assignment, how could I make this one. I hope anybody could answer my question.
    Regards,

    QM Consultant

    Hi,
Say u have different materials with different base unit of measure ( kg / ltr / ea / pc /  --- -
etc ) And u have assigned all these material in qulity plan having only one unit of measure (say mm )for characterisrics then there is absolutely no need to maintain conversion rule for all these
Beacuse base unit of measure is different and unit of measure is different .
Note Conversion rule is only required if ur using alterenate base unit of measure

  • Capacity Planning for all Sales Order Items

    Sir,
A Sales Order have 4 different line items & need to produce on single work center.
In schedule line of sales order requirement dates are given priority wise.
After running the MRP I have observed that for all schedule lines, all planned ordered are starting on same date & time on the given capacity.
I need to level it manually.
    Here I have few Question.
    1) Can Capacities are Scheduled as per priority given in SO automatically.
    2) Can revised availability dates will be reflected in SO.
    3) Which reports will be useful for understanding consolidated availability date of material for given sales order/s.
    Regards

    Dear ,
To answer the question for Capacity requirement planning on sales order I would say that MRP does  only materials planning based on demand and reciept  but never does Capacity Requirement Plannig .MRP generates Planned Order  and susequently , production order can be genreted and farther you can carry out capacity requirement planning based on the work cente available capacity , requirement and load for those MTO orders .
But there are SAP business suit like APO-SNP APO PPDS which carriy our details scheduleing and caapcity check based on the demand situation : Sales Order ,Independent Order  and does capcaity vaialbality chek for those demands while planning .
Now , here is the answer of your question :
    1) Can Capacities are Scheduled as per priority given in SO automatically. : Not possible  through  SAP MRP but in APO-PPDS, APO-SNP-CTM , Herustic model .
    2) Can revised availability dates will be reflected in SO. : It can be reflected as per the ATP chekc , Replishmenet Lead  Time and re-scheduling horizon maintained in OPPQ-Carry all overall plant parametres.
    3) Which reports will be useful for understanding consolidated availability date of material for given sales order/s. : You can check through MD04/MD05 or in sales order -Availaibility check -Schedule Line -Availaibility date .
Hope your are clear about the requirememt .
    Regards

  • Enterprise / Premium Support Plan for Firefox

    Hello there!
We are from IBM, and we work with Firefox APIs. At times, we need support on some business-critical issues, for which we are looking for a suitable corporate support plan.
Could you please guide me on this: If there is such a enterprise support plan in place? And, if so, how to go about procuring it?
    Thanks.

  • WebElements: Support planned for Crystal Reports for Enterprise?

    Hi Jamie
Currently only Crystal Reports 2011 is supported with WebElements 2.47. Is there a plan to support Crystal Reports for Enterprise in the future? Or are there technical obstacles which prohibit this "by design"?
    Regards
    Raphael

    hi Raphael,
crystal reports for enterprise on bi 4.0 will not support webelements as it does not have support for custom functions. webelements is built with custom functions. there are most likely other limitations with crystal reports for enterprise that will disallow using webelements.
this should not really affect anyone that's using webelements unless they really want to use the new semantic layer / universe.
given that you could probably still build your reports that contain webelements with crystal reports 2011 and call anything built with cr for enterprise. the best practise for webelements is to create a container report with all of the webelements controls and then call the target in an iframe or in a new tab or window.

  • Do I have a tech support issue for all you guys...

Hey all.  First time poster to the MSI boards.  About a month ago I bought a 2nd XFX GeForce 7950GT M570 Extreme Edition video card to go SLI with my gaming rig.  So one weekend I install SLI in my system.  I set the SLI switch card that came with my MSI mobo to SLI, plug the 2 cards in, fire up the system, log into Windows and...hey look.  My expansion PCI sound card is no longer recognized by the system (my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer [which was my card about a month ago] is now not a Sound Blaster Audigy ZS 2 according to Windows it is now a "Multimedia Audio Controller" not a "PCI Multimedia Audio Controller" according to Windows) and Windows wants to reinstall the audio even though the driver is still clearly there in the system and recognized.
So I go to install the latest Audigy 2 driver for Windows and I get this error message: "Setup cannot detect a supported product within your system.  Please ensure you have properly installed the product and then run Setup again.  Setup will exit."  Since then I have also tried all the following troubleshooting remedies:
         - Tried installing the driver through pointing Windows directly to the .inf file for the sound card.  Result: Failed!  Error message reads as follows: "Windows cannot verify the hardware that goes with this driver.  If you continue you greatly risk causing extreme corruption within Windows and extreme instability within Windows.  Do you want to continue?  Yes or no?"
         - Tried moving the sound card to all 3 PCI slots on my motherboard.  Result: Failed!  Windows can't properly detect the sound card no matter PCI slot its in.
         - Bought a new audio card (a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer instead of the old Audigy 2 ZS Gamer) and put that in the system: Result: Failed!  Windows can't detect the new card properly either.
         - Flashed the BIOS on my motherboard to the newest version.  Result: Failed...to fix the problem!  Windows still couldn't detect the card.
         - Uninstalled motherboard and ForceWare drivers and tried to install the system going motherboard driver, audio driver, graphics driver.  Result: Failed!  Windows still wouldn't detect the card properly nor would let the driver operate.
         - Installed latest motherboard driver over the old one.  Result: Failed!  Windows still wouldn't detect it.
So after all this...does anybody here have any other ideas?  My specs are in my signature.  Thanks.  Out!

Well, just changed out the Enermax PSU with a Thermaltake Toughpower 750W and...failed!  The system still will not detect the sound card properly to install it.  It's like I always believed though...that the PSU had nothing to do with this at all!  I knew it had nothing to do with this, but in the sense of full scale troubleshooting it was another step and even though it didn't lead anywhere it further singles out the problem which I have always believed to be a BIOS/motherboard/Windows problem.  In other words, this MSI board I have cannot do SLI and run an expansion sound card at the same time but can only do SLI under the onboard sound chip.  That's right.  I bet there's not one board member here using my motherboard, SLI and an expansion sound card at the same time in their system.  Again, to play it this is a motherboard design weakness.  And a reinstallation of Windows won't fix this either because of what I have described.  Guess I got to get another motherboard and try that cause as gamer law goes, "Never use onboard sound with a gaming rig otherwise its not a real gaming rig."  Out!

  • Single inspection plan for all Inspection Plan usages

    Hi
I have to prepare a single inspection plan, than can be used against inspection type '04' and '15' and '01'.
Please tell me which inspection plan usage I should use, I tried '3' = Universal, but at inspection lot creation the system is unable to find inspection plan.
    Thanks in advance.

My customer manufactures semi-finished good, some times he can purchase semi-finished from the market. Sample are reserved for future testing as well.
so following inspection types are required for the same material
    1) GR against PO                '01'
    2) GR against Production    '04'
    3) Sample Management   '15'
Almost all the time, the same specifications are tested and my customer wants to maintain a single inspection plan.
I have one option that is to create 3 inspection types using all the above  inspection types and to use the same "Usage" say '5' in customizing of Inspection Type. But I don't know the consequences
Please give me other solution or highlight the consequences of my solution
    Kindly help.

  • SunJCE Provider doesn't support RSA for all version of JCE?

    Folks,
Have browsed through the forum and it seems that the JCE provider bundled with JCE and JDK1.4+ do nothing on RSA. Can I make this conclusion?

But it seems the SunJCE doesn't provide the RSA (and
AES, who knows what else is missing) encryption and
decryption functions. Can anyone list what is missing
from the SunJCE? Also, from the forum, many have
pointed to this bounty castle provider. Can any of
you guys who are familiar with this provider give us
the procedure of installation? Thanks.I wouldn't use the term 'missing' here. Sun provides some basic cryptographic functions and that all. If you want more, get another provider. Sun will never be able to provide every possible algorithm. That's why they have implemented the external provider option. So no, I cannot list what is missing.
I can tell you that other providers, for instance BouncyCastle offer much more cryptographic functions. Installation is very easy. Just download the .jar and put it in your <java>\jre\lib\ext directory. After that you can use it in you programs with the following code:
    Provider prov = new org.bouncycastle.jce.provider.BouncyCastleProvider();
Security.addProvider(prov); You can also install it so that you don't have use this code in every program that uses the provider. How this is accomplished, can be found in the install manual from BouncyCastle.

  • Distribution Planning for 11.5.10.2

    Hello,
I have a customer that is in the release 11.5.10.2 CU and they would like to have the Distribution Planning functionalities available in the R12.
By looking into the available responsibilities in this 11.5.10.2 CU instance I found a Distribution Planning and it looks like the one for R12.
    The questions are:
    1) Do we have available in 11.5.10.2 CU a Dist. Planning that has the same functionalities of R12?
    2) if yes, does Oracle support Dist. Planning in 11.5.10.2 CU?
    Many thanks for any response,
    Alberto

Hi Alberto. Yes, ASCP supports planning for distribution in 11.5.10, but no this does not mean it has all the same functionalty as Release 12. We added a significant amount of new capabilities for Distribution Planning in Release 12

    Hi ,
Our db version is Oracle 8i and looking for solution.
I have multiple select sql statments and need to get the explain plan for all statments.
Is it possible to take explain plan for all statments one time? If so please provide the steps.
    Thanks.
    Happy Halloween.

Not sure exactly you are looking. But if you do
    set autotrace on

  • Preventive Maint Plan for Similar Equipment

    Dear ALL
I hv 100 similar tpye of equipment. I want to create one maintenance plan for all equipment and want to assign all the equipment in that paln. But problem is when i shedule the plan, plan date is same for all the eqipment but its not possible to comlete all the equipement in single day.
So how i map my all equipment in one maintenance plan when i shedule the plan diffrent plan date occur for different equipment.
    Regards
    Neelam

    hi
For your requirement it will be better if you create seperate maintenance plan for different equipment, since the cycle or counter specified for the maintenance plan is common for all the equipments your planned date will be same .hence it is better to create individual plan for individual equipment
