Is ABAP expression FORM - PERFORM can be used in SAP BI 7.0 transformations or method odf class is a recommended approach?

SAP BI 7.x Transformations use OO ABAP where the logic that you enter into the tranformational routines (Start Routine, Characteristic Routines and End Routine) are inside METHODS. PERFORM and FORM are procedural-based ABAP and cannot be used in METHODS.
CLASS-METHOD and Function Modules are your best bets for processing outside of the transformational routine. As for performance, we use both and haven't found any signicant difference between the two (our custom Function Modules usually perform only slight better than our custom METHODS).

Hi Kamal,
I have done a system copy of the production portal to a sandpit system before. The system copy export import method works very well, and is easy. For my portal, the whole procedure took me less than 6 hours.
1. Go to this page: System Copy and Migration
2. See the videos "Demo: How to Perform a System Copy Export" and "Demo: How to Perform a System Copy Import".
This should give you the basic idea.
I did a systemcopy using sapinst. If I remember right, this is the steps I performed:
1. On target host, Installed a new Central services.
2. On source host: Ran sapinst system copy export for Central Instance and Database instance. This created two export files (depending on your database size).
3. Used the export files created in previous step to run the import step in target host.
4. Some post processing steps, like configuring sso, creating systems in system landscapes, configuring WD JCos etc.

Any Apple "n" router....AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, or Time Capsule....can be used to extend the signal of another.
Now, we just need to figure out if you have two "n" Expresses that will work together. Are these brand new units?
If not, check the model number on the side of the device. You need to see A1264 there. If you see A1084 or A1088, these models will not qualify as "n" Expresses.

Can i use the SAP standard package for lock object creation ?

Dear Guru ,
I want to create a new lock ojbect for my abap program .
When i completed the creation , SAP required a new request and it said the object only can be imported to SAP standard package .
But i saw the help from SAP said :

Hi Carlos...
First , You will never be able to use any standard SAP Package for your custom programs. So don't go for it.
So in your case what you need to do is , when you save your Lock object ,
- if you want Transport request to be created , then
in the screen shown you need to enter the Z package name (the same package as that of your ABAP Program)
or
-if you want it to be stored as local object , then
specify package as $tmp

For GRC 5.3 can I use the SAP GRC 5.2 rule set

We are going for an upgrade to GRC 5.3, I have a small concern here....
Can I use the same ruleset what I used in GRC 5.2 to SAP GRC5.3 ...?
because when I checked ruleset at permission level in GRC 5.2 it displays first object of an action from one function conflicting with first object of an action from another function, where as in GRC 5.3 it displays all objects of an action from one function vs all objects of an action from another function....
How will it impact analysis in GRC 5.3 with old rule set...?

To maximize performance, can I use tweak 'DISABLE PAGING EXECUTIVE'?

hello,
doing the final setup of my new desktop station
with cs5 production premium and win 7professional
i7-930, 24gb ddr3 mushkin ram, 12 hdd (all 10k raptors)
(at this point i prefer not to RAID)
basically everything has its own disk: os, final render, effects, media cache, previews, scratch disks, etc.
2 questions:
1) with 24gb of ram should i still have a paging file?
(currently, i have 1 hdd setup as PAGEFILE)
2) would using the tweak 'disable paging executive' help out performance?
again, i more trust adobe users than googling for answers...

I might as well throw in my 2 cents worth while i'm here too..
i agree with the previous post about a static pagefile, you NEVER want a system managed pagefile as it will forever fragment your drive. If you are going to run a pagefile the very first thing you should do the first time windows boots up is change it to a static size.
as for the original question. "disable paging executive" is a "tweak" in regards to HOW certain types of data are written to the pagefile. The question was not wether or not to use a pagefile at all. That tweak involved running a pagefile but essentially having less important stuff actually use the pagefile.
there are tons of web pages you can search to find info on how it worked.
everyone has different opinions about pagefile usage these days. M$ warns you that if you turn it off and you crash it cant write a memory dump to troubleshoot. well if you dont plan os dissecting that memory dump to determine why you crashed then that doesnt really matter now does it?
With a lot of memory i have disabled the pagefile on every machine i have ever used with every OS since NT. (it's been awhile but i think NT required a 2MB pagefile minimum)
My personal opinion is virtual memory is the worst invention ever for power computer users, it does nothing but rag your hardrive and slow things down.
you only need it if you are trying to use more memory than you have, and windows 7 will warn you if you start to run out of memory.
i will say that back in the old days when i was running windows 2000 with dual xeons, no pagefile, scsi cheetah raids, premiere 6.5 and that was the fastest most responsive computer system i have ever used, i miss it dearly.
back with xp you could have 500GB of ram, pagefile, and 20 apps open, go to the bathroom, and while u are gone it would write all that data to your pagefile. you come back and start clicking on apps and it would take forever to pull them up, that used to drive me nuts.
unfortunately adobe totally @#&*$^@#$ me over when they came out with PS7 and REQUIRED a pagefile to launch the app. i was soooooo pissed.
anyways, try turning off your pagefile, see how your system runs, it's simple enough to turn it back off. and dont worry about that old page exec xp tweak.

Is there a way to create reusable HTML Forms that can be used on multiple pages?

I'm trying to understand the recommended approach to managing 10 HTML forms that will be reused on many different pages. I want to be able to modify the form definition once and have the change propogate.

Is your requirement that authors be able to change the form definition, or should form definition be controlled by developers?
In the case of authors being able to change the form definition then I would say best practice would be to create a page that holds the form definition (using whatever components work for you - either the out of the box form components or something custom). Then use the reference component to point the definition in all the other locations you want the form to appear. One thing to note is if you are using dispatcher for caching you need to make sure you strategy for cache flushing accomadates this approach.
In the case of developers controlling the form definition you could crate a component for each form, and then simly drag that component onto the pages that require the form. In this case your would control all the form label and description elements in the localization file.

Logic Express 7 Demo - Can I Use GB Instruments?

I am trying the LE7 demo and want to why I'm unable to find/use my GarageBand 2 software instruments with it? I thought they would be recognized in the LE7 demo Loop Browser, but that's not the case.
If the GB instruments will not work in the demo, then can I download some free instruments to use in the demo and if so, what file type must they be?

I tried that, but it doesn't seem to be the same thing I thought it was.
I am trying to use software instruments only to create test songs in the demo, like one can in GB.
For example, in GB you can pick a certain drum beat, strings, horns, etc., put it on the time line wherever you want it and make a song from it. Easy creation using software-based instruments.
Is it not that straightforward in LE?

Flash form error, can't use the same name more than once? need workaround

I've always written my forms to have multiple buttons, one
for updating and one for deleting. so in html I would do this:

so I'm trying the same thing with flash forms in cold fusion:

but now I get this message:

The 1.3 core API doesn't support regular expressions. Hint: There's an item "Since:" in the JavaDoc of most classes that indicates the version it was initially available. If you look it up in the JavaDoc of java.util.regex.Pattern you'll notice that it's value is 1.4.
But there are several third party libraries that implement regular expressions, 'though I've not used them extensivly, so I can't tell you which one's the most usefull.

all the UI elements in the adobe form are generally connected to your web-dynpro Context.
whatever you type in the online adobe form is reflected in the respective context attributes of the dynpro Context of the view where "ur Interactive form UI element is".
that means you can yourself fill the contents of ur interactive form by working on the get/set methods of the context attributes.
Likewise you can clear the form by setting all context attributes to blank eg ""

NW2004s ABAP Trial Version - using 2 SAP-GUI'S

i just download the big files for nw2004s abap trial version. it includes sap gui 6.40, and i have the following problem:
we have sap r/3 4.6c now and on every client (also on mine) we have sap-gui 620 installed.
for 4.6c i still have to use sapgui 620 as i want to be on the same level then all the other users.
can i use BOTH sap-guis on ONE pc ?

I do understand, and my answer comes from my culture at my company. Sorry for that. All of our users are on sapgui 6.20(not sure about patch level), I always have the latest SAPgui version/patch level, at this point 6.40 sp 22. I have not seen a gui problem in some time with the users on 6.20, but when I did, you could usually tell that it is a gui problem by the behavior and/or ABAP short dump.
I understand your feeling about being on the same level of your users, so I won't suggest that you install the 6.40 version. So, that said, you will not be able to use the NW2004s system on your machine with your SAPgui 6.20 version. And I believe that you can not have more than one instance of sapgui. When you install sapgui 6.40 it will uninstall all previous version of the gui.

u can use discreate manufacturing scenoria for core manufaturing.
My suggestion is as follows,
1.define the finished core as core assembly.
2. since demand of core is decided from the demand of mold, u can define core assembly as bom item of Mold(under Mold BOM header).
3.by doing this, during the MRP, systems gives procurements proposals for core assembly if there is no stock avalibale.
4.so we ccan create seperate production order, and we can confirm yield and rejection qty.
5.after production u can enter the rejection qty while conforing production order.
letme know if u have any futher doubt..
