Where is Contact Sheet in CS5 or will it be available?
Once again the new version has dumped "contact sheet" script, something I use a lot. Will it be available in the future as a download.
It would seem to be a simple thing.Most people who are looking for Contact Sheet in CS5 and who had to get the plug-in for CS4 are being quite polite about
Contact Sheet's absence, but I will not be so nice. It is inexcusable that it was ever taken away. I know it's someplace else,
buried in the menus and requiring several steps to use it. That's pathetic, Adobe. It was perfect the way it was. You should

Contact Sheet for InDesign CS4 Available now

There's something going on with the system if the profile check is taking two hours. How much free space is left on the hard drive?
Is there some sort of minimum-required configuration you can boot to, similar to running MSconfig in XP and turning off startup programs and non-Microsoft services? It really sounds like there is still something running in the background that is conflicting. You are certain that anti-virus is not running? I'd also be sure that no browser toolbars are loaded, nor any instant messenger or music programs, and have a local printer, rather than a network printer, set as the default and online.

In photoshop CS5 trying to make a contact sheet,
When I go to the bridge and select tools to make a contact sheet , the error message "the File unkown in not available" comes up,,,what is this and how do I make a contact sheet please help

Script for mulipage contact sheet?
Don't know if this belongs here or in Photoshop forum since it invloves a Photoshop feature called by Bridge -- but since Bridge is where I typically use it...
Currently I'm creating contact sheets from folders selected within Bridge (or thumbnails selected in Bridge) and the only way I can quickly get them into a mulitpage contact sheet/catalog format is to then use the PDF Presentation Multipage-Document feature with the add-open-pages selection. Then I can save it as a catalog and delete the Photoshop contact sheet pages. Works well enough but it is awkward to have to first select the open contact sheet files for the PDF Presentation and then close them all and delete them. Also, in the PDF Presentation options I have to deselect all the other files in the folder one by one if the contact sheet was selected from files (or just deselect the folder if I went that route). Often pretty simple but with large numbers of files (and thus a large number of Contact Sheet pages) it gets more complicated. Seems like a really good opportunity for a script (or action or plugin). Does anyone know if such a critter is available? Many file browsers have multipage contact sheet/catalog options but none of them are as well integrated with PS and ACR as Bridge so I've stopped using them. I sure miss those catalog files though.
Couldn't find anything in Studio Exchange under either Photoshop or Bridge (actions, plugins, or scripts) but that doesn't mean much since there is so much there I usually miss just what I need!

Photoshop Elements 13 2x6 Contact Sheet
I'm trying to automate turning a lot of photos into contact sheets with Elements 13. The current problem is that the photos are too large and the last two elements of the contact sheet appear on the second page. Is there anyway to tell Elements 13 that I want all of my photos on a single page? Or do I need to go back and resize every single photos? It appears that Elements 13 will only allow me to specify the number of columns, and not rows on the contact sheet.

I am trying to create a very large contact sheet with 512 columns of images. Is it possible to adjust the contact sheet script to allow me to have 512 columns rather than the maximum 100?? Or is there any other ways this could be achieved?
Any help would be much appreciated!If you're talking about the Contact Sheet that is built into Photoshop, I don't believe that is a script, so I doubt that can be changed. If you have a separate Contact Sheet script that someone has written, then you should be able to do it, depending on the complexity of the script.
What OS are you using? There might be better tools for this than Photoshop's Contact Sheet. If you're on a Mac, then GraphicConverter should allow you to enter that many columns. Plus it has a lot more features and options available for making contact sheets. -
Design a contact sheet my way somehow?
I would like to be able to make a "contact sheet" for web posting.
The print module lets me set the layout I want.
Now I need to change the background to black, the type to white.
Then I want to make a 72 dpi export for web posting.
Can this be done? I cant see it so far.You can design your site in iWeb and upload it to either .Mac or a commercial server.
You would then provide the domain name registrar with your server ID number or, in the case of .Mac, your .Mac URL and instruct them to point your domain name in that direction.
.Mac is neither intended for, nor the best option, for a business site.
For example the company I host with - Host Excellence - allows you a free domain name registration and up to 6 sites with unlimited web mail and more server space than you are likely to need for about the cost of a .Mac account.
Commercial servers are a lot more reliable than .Mac, have wider bandwidth and usually have good tech support.
You only have to look at the number of problems in this forum concerning .Mac to see that tech support is not readily available from Apple.
I'm not putting down .Mac. I use it myself for various purposes and it is good for its intended use of one clicking publishing of personal websites. -
CS4 what happened to Contact Sheet II under Automate?
Just installed CS4 and was checking to make sure all the things I use on a regular basis is there. It seems that the Contact Sheet II has been removed. I found it up here on the download extra plug-in page but still didn't show up when I downloaded the plug-in. Thought I installed them correctly, but maybe not. Need this badly, use it for printing out thumbnails of all photo shoots. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks, LindaHmmm, I didn't know the Output in Bridge was there. Need to check that out. Thanks guys for the heads up on that. If that doesn't work out I'll try to figure out how to install the contact sheet. Or, I could just leave CS3 on the computer and run the contact sheets in there. That might be the easiest solution for now at least until I get Output figured out.

I have another question about Bridge. I was trying to change the file extensions from psd to jpg on numerous images in Batch Rename and couldn't get it to work. I tried this in CS3 alsoto no avail. When I attempted it in CS3 the images would not show up in Bridge or open in Photoshop. All that showed was a windows icon and I got a "won't open because of program error" when I tried to open them. Now in CS4 I'm getting the thumbnails of the changed files in bridge, but still getting a won't open message in Photoshop when I try to open one. Will this work or am I doing something wrong?

CS5 Contact Sheet II now working erratically..!!
Hi, have been using CS5 with the Contact Sheet 2 thing for over a month now (used it hundreds of times a month with CS4, to do my ebay listings)
but just this days it has thrown up an error message, and also started duplicating some of the images. even though i am contacting only open documents..
what does "because a command was not available" mean.
also below, is an error, where it has duplicated the same page (no i did not have two of it open) but with the second copy very reduced in size, circled in red....
what the hell is going on with CS5..???????.
I think this is a VERY buggy photoshop, more so than any previous version.
any one else having the same problem, and is there an answer, or a work around.
regards, SandyIm experiencing the same problem. I've been able to make it stop, by executing the command and not touching the mouse. Moving the mouse appears to mess up Contact Sheet with the latest CS5 update.

I installed my upgrade for Photoshop CS5 today and then downloaded the Contact Sheet II plug-in.... the plug-in is in my CS5 plug-in folder when I try to launch it in CS5... via the AUTOMATE pull down, it DOES NOT SHOW... it DOES show up in Brdige CS5 ... Tools... Photoshop ... Contact Sheet II... but when I try to use it a small PS window pops up ... looks like a CS4 icon (light blue PS)... and says The command "<unknown>" is not currently available.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

The Contact Sheet II plug-in code is well aged but rigid, so porting to run in 64 bit applications was cost prohibitive. It also made more sense to rewrite and improve on the feature set using Bridge, since it allows you to browse, and collect multiple images much quicker than with Ps alone. Starting with CS4, the Contact Sheet II plug-in was removed to an optional install, so it's still available but only runs in the 32 bit mode.
If you don't like some of the current implementations in Bridge, please comment in that forum so they can hear your pain points.

You can also try the excellent third party Contact Sheet X script version that runs in Photoshop and gives you more options than the Contact Sheet II plug-in. It outputs to BMP, GIF, JPEG, PSD, Ps EPS, Ps PDF, PNG, Targa, and TIFF. You can use Layout presets as well, so you only need to create layouts once then reuse often. The files can be downloaded here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ps-scripts/files/ (ver. CSX-1_4_5.zip is updated to run in CS5)

Still trying to find an answer to the missing contact sheet II plug in for PSE 12 on my Mac. The function is also not available in Adobe Bridge, as suggested by one source. I see from the forum I am not the only one with the problem, and also not the only one who is still looking for a solution. Can the plug-in be downloaded from Adobe? If so, how? Their help resources on this issue appear to be non-existent.

Contact Sheet II, Picture Package, & other options are grayed out on File menu
I just bought Photoshop Elements 11 yesterday, and Contact Sheet II, Picture Package, & other options are grayed out on the File menu.
I believe you need to be in the Expert mode for those commands to be available.

Contact sheet II in Photoshop CS5 ?
I was able to downlod the contact sheet II for Photoshop CS4 64
bit. Does anyone know if it available for CS5 64 bit?You wouldn't happen to be running a 64 bit system would you? On a 64 bit system, you must keep in mind that there are two variants of Photoshop installed: 32 bit and 64 bit.
Did you copy the 32 bit and 64 bit plugin into the proper Photoshop folders?
On a 64 bit system, in order to use the Contact Sheet II plugin in both variants of Photoshop:

I added the Contact sheet II files to their locations, restarted Bridge and this is the message I get.
I followed these instructions....................................
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Startup Scripts CS5\Adobe Photoshop
Im not using a x64 system.
The ability to create contact sheets and picture packages as a PDF presentation is now available in
Adobe Bridge CS5 Output Module. We highly recommend creating your contact sheets and picture
packages this way. If you would like to continue using the legacy ContactSheetII and/or Picture Package
plug-ins, please follow these steps:
1. From the PSCS5OptionalPlugins downloaded folder, drop the //<language>/Optional Plug-
Ins/<Windows 32-bit or 64-bit>/ContactSheetII plug-in into the //Adobe Photoshop CS5/Plugins/
Automate folder (this is for both Contact Sheet and Picture Package).
2. From the PSCS5OptionalPlugins downloaded folder, drop the //<language>/Presets/Layouts folder
into the //Adobe Photoshop CS5/Presets folder and restart Photoshop.
Optional: To add this legacy functionality back into Bridge (as a menu item):
1. From the PSCS5OptionalPlugins downloaded folder, drop the //<language>/Optional
plugins/Bridge Startup Scripts/photoshop_contact_sheet_ii folder and the
photoshop_contact_sheet_ii.jsx file into following locations and then restart Bridge.
• Windows Vista and Windows 7: //Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Startup Scripts CS5/Adobe Photoshop/
NOTE: Contact Sheet does not work on Mac 64-bit systems. Please launch Photoshop in 32-bits to
enable functionality
