Is it necssary to install SP5 prior to SP6?

Dear all,
When you download the installation file for AC 5.3 you currently get SP5. Is it necessary to install that version first, before you can upgrade to SP6? Or can you apply the standalone SP6 files right away?
Regards,
Vit

Hi Vit,
RTA is not cumulative so you have to apply all the SP in the order. Java installation is cumulative so you can go ahead and apply SP6 directly.

  • [BO XI 3.1] BO Designer not starting after installing SP5

    Hello All!
I installed SP5 on top of BO XI 3.1 SP3 (Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit) on server. There is an issue that Designer is not starting. The process designer.exe shows up in "Task manager" for 1-2 second and disappear. No entries in Event Viewer and in BO logs. I also installed SP5 on client desktop machine and the same happens.
Do you have any tips/advices? Thanks for that!
    Bartosz

    Hello,
we are not aware of such type of problem and it is most likely something peculiar to the configuration or architecture of your deployment.
I would analyze trace logs from Designer and from Process Monitor ( [http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645] )
My advice is to open a support  message because is a complicated investigation that probably will need some remote support as well
    Thanks

  • If I already have the android SDK and AVD installed from prior installation for eclipse do I have to

If I already have the android SDK and AVD installed from prior installation for eclipse do I have to do it again for dreamweaver if I want to develop for android ?
Also, if I'm developing for android, ipad, and iphone and I want them all to be the same can I do it by only making one site or I have to make a different site location for each?

Inquire of whom?  Apple?  Seems to me your carrier is giving you the run-around.  They are the ones who provide the service, so they should be able to tell you the plan specifics.  Get on the phone again with them and insist on an answer.

  • Adobe Air will not install. Prior to attempted reinstall, it would not update.

Adobe Air will not install / reinstall. Prior to attempt to reinstall, it would not update. The automatic "update now" button was greyed out, but the "update later" button was active.

Here is what my system administrator wrote:
    1. Right-Click on the installer, clicked 'Show Package
Contents' and attempted to install from the MasOS folder. This
provided an interesting error in the terminal window, however still
    did not install.
    2. From there, I opened 'Console' (found in Applications
--> Utilities) and dug through the install error logs. Pinned
the issue down to AIR trying to update / use files that were
    already in use.
    3. Restarted the computer under the primary admin account
(the account used to setup the computer) and installed successfully
    from there.

  • How can I install a prior version of Photoshop Elements?

I own the CDs for Photoshop Elements 11, but have never installed it. How can I install PSE 11? I've loaded the serial numbers into my account, but I don't see any place to download PSE 11.

    Download the trial version from
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-11-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first BEFORE you click the download links.
Install the trial and enter your serial number to license it on your computer.

  • Is there a way to re-install version prior to 6.0.5.20

This is in reference to discussion thread: CPU Usage Extreme during importing.
Since the above appears to be something that we are going to have to wait until Apple addresses, i was wondering if I can re-install the previous version so that I can add music in the meantime.

Hmm, no way to tell. You'd probably have to go back to 6.0.4.
The checkmarks, playcounts, ratings are stored in the iTunes library.itl file
What are the iTunes library files?
And I don't know if the 6.05 version that you currently have is backwards compatible with 6.04
Also, you won't be able to install over the existing installation. The install package does a version check and will tell you there is a newer version on your PC, then stop.
You'll have to remove iTunes and QuickTime using control panel.
And this doesn't help you at all, but in the future it might.
Make a practice of renaming the iTunesSetup.exe to something like iTunesSetup605.exe before you download the current version. Also, save the 2 library files in another folder. That way, you can downgrade a lot more easily if you need to.

  • My firefox seems to be stuck in downloading an update 3.6. I tried to uninstall and it wouldn't let me as it says it needs to finish installing a prior update. Cannot acces firefox at all.

It keeps asking me to restart the system, but the same problem occurs after many restarts. It would seem to me the best thing to do is uninstall and reinstall, but I can't even uninstall. Sent many automatic crash reports. No reply from Firefox.

you should uninstall, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and then reinstall.
    or you can update directly.

  • Proactive caching Error while installing BPC 7.0 SP6

    All,
We are installing BPC 7.0 sp 6 on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (RTM) - 10.0.1600.22 (Intel X86)   Jul  9 2008 14:43:34   Copyright (c) 1988-2008 Microsoft Corporation  Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.2 <X86> (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)
In short SQL 2008 Standard Edition. Will BPC 7.0 work with it?
We tried to install the BPC and recived the "Proactive caching" errors. I know we will need this feature for ROLAP.
Can we keep Standard Edition and make it work? Or we will need EE of SQL for BPC to work?
    Thanks for your help.
    Sam
Edited by: Sam Patel on Mar 24, 2010 10:05 AM

SQL Server EE is required for all SAP BPC Microsoft versions.
BPC is using functionalities from SSAS delivery just with EE.
Proactive caching is one the features available just into EE not into SE. But are also other features used by BPC from SSAS which can be found just into EE.
It is true that actually just for SSAS we require EE, for all other componetnts we don't really need EE.
So the installation will work, but of course you will have some limitations coming from Microsoft.
For example SQL Server SE is able to handle maximum 4 processors.
RS can not be installed into Web farm if you are using SE
    And many others.
I hope this will help you to have a bteer view about what is reguired and why.

  • Error RCU-6083 during RCU installation prior to OBIEE 11g on Solaris

    Hello,
I have an application server where I have an Oracle Database EE 11g running on Solaris 10 upgrade 9.
The server has the following characteristics:
    - SUN V440
    - RAM 16GB
    - 2 processors Ultra Sparc III, 1.5GHz
    - OS: Solaris version 10
    - Disk space: 500GB
    - Oracle Weblogic Server 11g (10.3)
    - Ethernet 1 Gpbs
I want to install the RCU schemas and OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5.0) on this server so I verified all the pre-requisites for RCU and OBIEE and are OK.
I am using the Repository Creation Utility (11.1.1.5.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) to install the RCU because although the database is running on Solaris, the installer is not working through that server so I have a PC connected to the network and through that PC that has windows7 i could run the installer and connect to the db, using the SYSTEM user (because when i select sys as sysdba, although the password is correct, it doesn't connect to the db).
However, the installer is sending the ERROR: RCU-6083 regarding the pre-requisites for the BIPLATFORM.
I already use the following command alter system set processes=500 and restarted the db services, however the wizard installer is still sendig that error.
What can be done to succesfully install the RCU?
    Thanks and regards,
    Rebeca

    Hello User,
    Below my comments in blue:-
    1) Do I need to install any Oracle DB (like to install 10g) prior to running rcu.bat file?
    Yes
    2) If I install Oracle 10g DB, does if create any compatibility issue while installing OBIEE 11g?
    Check below the compatibility matrix

    Hi,
    Thanks for the post!
According to the logs you provided, the reason is related to Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable. The cause could be an unsuccessful install of prior Windows
Updates OR Custom MSI packages could have left over faulty registry keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONETS. Please run the following tool to fix:

  • Can't install 3rd party screensavers

    G'day Gang,
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I've downloaded the below trial screensavers and installed them on three different machines: My Macbook Pro (specs in signature), my iBook G4 and my parents Intel Mac Mini running Tiger. They work on the iBook and Intel Mac Mini great! But not at all on the MBP...
My MBP is running the current Leopard build and neither of the savers show up in the screensaver list in system prefs - even though they've installed correctly (and can be found in the appropriate screensaver folder in the library). I didn't try to install them prior to the 10.5.1 update so I'm not sure if that's the problem.
Fancy giving them a try and letting me know if they work? I've emailed the respective companies and they say the savers should work under Leopard. Curious.

I am a new comer to Macs and this is my first post
on this subject. I have a Mac Mini and I am trying to
install Move2Mac on this machine. I can't install
this software on this machine. The system doesn't
recognize the format and won't go any further.
Move2Mac is written for a PC, not a Mac; it needs to
be run on a PC to migrate the data.
I am also getting "can't create this file" message
when I am trying to update some of the Mac supplied
software (Comic Life). thanks for the help.
Click on the desktop and choose Get Info from the
File menu; under Ownership & Permissions, change the
settings so that you're the owner of that folder and
you have Read & Write access to it.
    (20089)
OK Niel, I did that and it says that I do have the read and write permissions. Any other things that I can check?

    Hi kmquek,
Usually those error are due to some disk cleanup application making changes to installed files prior to performing the Adobe updater process.
If the disk cleanup changed or deleted any files necessary for the installer to continue, you'll get an error like what you see here.
Typically the resolution for these errors is to uninstall the affected product, and reinstall it.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 SP5

Wasn't sure this was the best place to post this....apologies if it is a mispost
I recently downloaded and attempted to install SP5 (12.5.0.1190) for Crystal Reports 2008 (12.3.6.1006/SP3.6). What I got was a message of the sort "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue.......". There is no info about how to install this update.
Any insight on this from anyone? Is this SP5 update not for my version of Crystal Reports (maybe not even for Crystal Reports at all)? Do I need SP4 first (have never seen it available)? I thought maybe I needed to uninstall my version of CR and install SP5 to replace it, but then thought better of it.
Thanks in advance for any help.....
       Cheers...Steph

    Thanks for the fast reply.
The file I got is named: cr2008_sp5.zip (Zip file size is 532 MB) and I downloaded it from here: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/webcontent/uuid/10e38d93-7f07-2d10-beae-e739182f8ada (I went back and realized there was a 4.X update that I missed
Nowhere do I see your title of "CRYSTAL REPORTS 2008 V1 SP5 WINDOWS (32B)" (properties or otherwise).
Do I have the right "upgrade"?  If I have to remove my current version of CR2008 (I mentioned it was at FP3.6), it seems I have to dismantle it one upgrade/update at a time (I'm running on WinXP SP3). Is this for real?  And, if so, sounds like I shouldn't even worry about the SP4.X update.
       Cheers...Steph
