I need to upgrade to Mountain Lion from OSX 10.5, so understand I need to purchase Snow Leapord first.
Is it OK (from a licensing and working point of view) to install a second hand version??
You can, you just have to make sure that it's a retail copy of the software and not a disc that came with another computer. The software that came with another computer when they purchased it is serialized to that device and will not work on others.

What's being unsaid here is that this is likely what would happen:
1. You would buy software from eBay, which would come with a serial number.
2. You would try to use that serial number to purchase the Photographer's bundle, and Adobe would almost undoubtedly not allow it, because the serial number is bogus or belongs to someone else.

First of all thank you for your assistance. I have a router and the network is configured, however my OS is 10.4.11 and I am unable to update I-Tunes to 10.2 because I do not have the correct OS. My current I-Tunes software version is 9.2 and when I try to update to I-Tunes 10.2.2 it requires Mac OS X version 10.5 or later. Do I have to buy the OSX 10.5 or is there an alternative to purchasing the whole OSX?

I have a Mac Pro Intel Xeon 3.2 Ghz Quad core (mid 2012) using OSX 10.7.5) and cannot get iDVD to run. I tried 7.0.4 and 7.1.2, both from Apple software update and both crash during "loading themes". I am reluctant to upgrade OSX from 10.7.5 because I do not want to loose Final Cut Express 4.0.1. Apple Care no longer supports iDVD. I want a version if iDVD that supports Chapter markers as in iDVD 7.?.? that i used with my old (now deceased) Apple Power PC Mac Pro.
iDVD 7 should work fine with 10.7.5. Try this basic troubleshooting fix:
1 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete IDVD'S cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.
3 - launch IDVD and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

I'd suggest being more specific. What do you mean by "it seems to have thrown windows out of the system?" The Windows virtual machines should still be in the Virtual Machines folder in your documents folder. Are they there? What version of Fusion have you updated from and to?

In the Mac Finder, select the icon of any of your photo files and do a Get Info (Command i) on it. Then select the application you want to open your photo files, then Click on Change All.
You'll need to do this once for an icon of each file type, i.e. one on a JPEG file, one on a TIFF, one for PSD, one for raw files, etc. -

No. You cannot access your Time Capsule directly from an iOS device. The only way to back up an iOS device is to a computer through iTunes or to iCloud, though in some cases you can open and save files via another cloud-based service such as Dropbox.

PaoloSomewhere at either Macworld or here I learned that DVDSP 2, DVDSP 3 and now DVDSP 4 "internally" are major re-writes.
Support for HD among a few other items along with QT 7 which comes with Tiger means sincerely that one set of applications/OS is not going to be stable.
Personally I think of all the issues possible its DVDSP vs QT.
Unless you move to DVDSP v4 the alternative is to wipe the disk and go back to Jaguar (10.2) or perhaps Panther but avoid upgrading QT beyond 6. I advocate wiping the disk because I'n not sure an archive and install to down shift to an earlier version of the OS is possible. If it is I'd still worry about mis-matched files in all sorts of locations. -
How do I block this msg from always popping up "iTunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the iTunes Store within iTunes. Use Software Update to download and install the latest version of Safari". I cannot download this software bc my lap top is to old. The msg literally pops up everytime I make any moves on itunes and is VERY annoying.
