Is it possible to burn music folders on to an mp3 cd?

I have 6 music albums that I would like to burn on to a CD as MP3 files, is it possible to burn the 6 albums in 6 folders and not just all the songs. I would like to have the songs from each albums in their seperate folders and not 60 songs from 1-60.

I'm sorry but, in iTunes 11.3 if you burn a disc as an "MP3 CD" it will burn ll the tracks in the playlist in the sequential order they are in the playlist with no MP3 going into separate folders with only the song name and playlist order number as file name. To burn a CD with separate folders for different artists and albums select the disc format as "Data CD or DVD". I have had this problem multiple times and I wanted to share this info since, after I read this thread looking for the answer, I just mistakenly burnt another CD with only the songs without them being in separate folders by artist and album.
Cheers,
Timm

Is it possible to burn music to thumb drive?

    Jaywalt,
Adding files to a thumb drive does not require burning, only copying.
The easiest way is to insert the drive into a USB port,  highlight the tracks you want in iTunes, and then drag them to the thumb drive.
If you normally run iTunes in full screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.

  • How to Burn Music CD from ALE to MP3 or AAC?

Tell me there's a way in iTunes to burn a Playlist from my Apple Lossless music library to a CD in either AAC or MP3 so I can fit more songs then a typical CD and listen to it in my car stereo.

So you're saying I'll need to unpack my 500+ CD's from storage, dig through them to find the songs I want, and reimport them into MP3? That's not going to happen. I didn't spend all that time importing my CD's in Apple Lossless to have to import them again, compressed, so that I can burn a playlist to a CD. That's absurdly redundant and tedious. iTunes should be able to convert a high-resolution music file into a compressed format and then burn to a CD. And why does iTunes offer 'Create Apple Lossless Version'. Not from a compressed audio file I hope. But from WAV or AIFF perhaps? Why would anyone want a larger file made from an inferior compression (MP3,...)?
Since the iTunes Store doesn't offer full resolution downloads I only import from CD's in Apple Lossless for playback in a high-end audiophile system. Any other way would be pointless and negate the reason for buying CD's in the first place. AAC (iTunes Plus) isn't bad, but it's still not full resolution. And MP3 is out of the question. I only saw it as a means to burn a lot of songs to a CD and play in my car. But I'd rather get an iPod adapter now.

  • Copying music folders from an old ext HD to a new one

Hey guys, long time off the discussions, back with a question I hope you can help me in.
Got a macbook. Have all my iTunes library on an external HD. Since this HD is failing, bought a new one. The failing HD is not being recognized by my new macbook, only by my old powerbook.
My goal is to transfer my music files from the failing HD, connected to the old powerbook, to the new HD, connected to the new macbook.
    My (idiot?) plan is:
    1) To set the new iTunes library location to the new HD through my macbook;
    2) To use a flash drive to copy all FOLDERS of artists from the failing HD;
    3) To connect the flash drive on the macbook and ask it to add the folders to my new location (the new ext. HD)
    4) Thing is, I´m not sure if iTunes will be able to copy FOLDERS instead of simple mp3 files. Is it possible? Is there a simpler plan to this mess??
Thanks a lot guys, any help appreciated.
    Paulo

Copy the music folders to the new hd.
On the new computer, set iTunes prefs -> Advanced - iTunes music folder to the location of the music on the external drive.
File -> Add to library and select the music folder on the external.

  • Why won't my computer burn music onto blank CDs

I am trying to burn music onto my blank CD but a notification will pop up saying "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The device failed to calibrate the lazer power level fo this media." Sometimes it is able to burn music onto the CD though. Any ideas how to fix this?

    Try:
    - A lens cleaning disc to clean dust off the laser lenses,
    - A slower burn speed
    - Better quality CDs
    - It is also possible your drive is faiiling and will need replacing or you use an external Superdrive.

iTunes can only burn files that are in its library, so forget about PDFs.
Yes it can be done with other programs, using a data (not audio) CD format.

  • Cant burn music files on CDs

I am having trouble burning music cds using the burner. The music will initially burn but after listening to the disc I realize the quality becomes poor including lots of skipping, especially towards the end of the disc. I use a standard cd-r and never surpass capacity.
Is there a way to fix this problem or should I send my mac in?

  • Possible to burn DVDs of videos purchased from iTunes

Is it possible to burn a DVD of the music videos i purchased with iTunes.
I can't stream the audio portion to my airport express, and i want to listen to this version of "City of Blinding Lights" through my nice stereo, not my computer.
Any thoughts shy of running an audio cable from my sound card through a few walls? =)

Just to verify I've selected all songs and made sure they shared the same information and I've selected "Get Info" and numbered the tracks in order, so yes, I've done the obvioous stuff.

  • How do i delete all my music folders?

I have just got a new laptop and the people in store moved my music from my old laptop to my new one. They managed to create 2 of everything and now I can't sort it out. I have tried uninstalling apple to reinstall it but it just saved all my previous libraries so I have the same problem! Can i delete all my music folders and start again from scratch? Please help? I am not very IT literate so need all the help I can get?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • When I try to burn music from my Playlist to a blank CD, the notification tells me that the list has too many minutes for the CD, even if I try to burn just one song. What's going on?

WHEN I TRY TO BURN MUSIC FROM MY PLAYLIST TO A BLANK CD, THE NOTIFICATION COMES UP AND TELLS ME I AM EXCEEDING THE NUMBER OF MINUTES THE CD WILL HOLD. THIS NOTIFICATION HAPPENS EVEN IF I TRY TO BURN JUST ONE SONG. WHAT'S GOING ON?

Katy, you are completely doing things in the wrong order.  You can't burn songs if you can't even play them, and iTunes can't play them if it can't find them.
The exclamation point normally occurs if the song file, or one of its containing folders, has been moved, renamed or deleted.  So if you encounter a track with an exclamation point, don't do anything else until you find the file.  It is usually somewhere else on your hard drive, or else in the Recycle bin.  Failing both of those, get it from your most recent backup.
After your restore it, make sure it can play.  If it can play you can put it into a playlist.  Then you can burn the playlist.

  • Managing both Lossless and AAC music folders

Hello, I am trying to have two music folders with identical songs from my imported CDs, but with different encoding formats. I would like to have one folder with Apple Lossless encoding, so I can stream high-quality music to my home stereo. I would then like to have another folder of the same music, but converted to AAC compression so I can load that music onto my iPod.
Does anyone have suggestions as to how I can do this? I know I need to import the music from the CD first with Lossless encoding; and I've done this. I now need to find a way to convert all these files (as a copy) to AAC in a different folder/playlist so they can fit in my iPod's limited storage space.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
    Tyler Stableford

Managing two folders the way you want to do it, is not possible in iTunes itself.
There are 3rd party scripts and applications that might do it, for example iTunes Library Manager.
If you like to have both formats available at the same time, you could do next:
Import all CDs in Apple Losless.
Take care that all info is the way you like; if you convert them, you have to correct wrong info twice.
Convert all lossless tracks to AAC.
Make two Smart Playlists (e.g. iPod music and Home music)
Include a rule in the iPod playlist not to contain 'Apple Lossless audio file'
    To give an example:
I don't care about what's all in the library; it's the main container for my multimedia.
So I've set some rules for my 'Music Library', a Smart Playlist.
    I've set it to:
Match all of the following rules:
    Podcast is false
Kind is not mpeg audio stream
    Genre does not contain audiobook
    etc.
You could make two almost identical playlists.
'Home Music' containing the rule: Kind is not Apple lossles....
'iPod Music' containing the rule: Kind is Apple Lossless...
You can make other Smart playlists which depend on the contents of these two 'music libraries'.
    Hope this helps.

  • Do ADDED music folders update automatically?

I have 3 music folders in my external drive that were added to my iTunes last week. iTunes (on my laptop) recognized the files. Since then I have ripped 20 cds using Microsoft Vista Media Center to these 3 folders. However when I open my iTunes...these recent files do not appear even after a search. Is Itunes made to recognize new files in already added folders?
    thanks

iTunes has no folder-watching feature, so using strictly iTunes, you'll have to add any such tracks manually, by dragging them to the iTunes window or by using the Add To Library command. There is, however, a possible third-party process that might work. Look at this web page.
Thanks to Hudgie for the tip.

  • How to move from 3 separated itunes music folders into one new hard discs??

So : i bought a new external 6TB thunderbolt hard disc (for extra speed for my huge library) and i copied from 3 other 2TB hard disc into there. I named the sub folder the same like an original. I thought it is enough to determine the new place of each in "media folder locations" and updated.... but its not working
What should i do? How will see the itunes these music folders like an originals??? I dont want to reimporting, because  i dont want to loose  all of my "date added, played etc" informations.
If I'm doing three  partitions with folders, as were the old ones will work?
..or should i rewrite the iTunes Music Library.xml with text editor?
pls help me and thx for answering!!!!!

Best to give the new iPad a different name. I assume you have purchased an iPad 2 or the next generation iPad which is just called "iPad"? If so, you can name the iPad 2 "Kens iPad 2" or "Kens iPad 3" since the new iPad just introduced is the 3rd generation.
The first time you connect your new iPad to iTunes on the computer used for syncing your existing iPad, you will be prompted to transfer the backup for your existing iPad to the new iPad, or set up the new iPad as a new iPad. Both must be followed by a sync with iTunes.
Each device has its own sync preferences with iTunes, which can be the same or different for each device synced with the same iTunes library and computer.

  • Is it possible to transfer music/videos from one itunes account to a separate one?  I need to give my music and videos that I bought a grandchild to her for her ipad.

Is it possible to transfer music/videos from my itunes account to a grandchild (she will need her own account)  I bought her music and videos and let her play with my ipod touch.  Now she has an ipad.

No you cannot transfer purchases from one account to another account. Apple does not allow it and never has allowed it.
She can use you Apple ID on the device and switch between her ID and your ID, but that can cause problems at times and can become a bit of a pain.
