Is it possible to combine keyboard shorts cuts into 1 short cut?

Hi,
Can I create an action or create a single keyboard short cut that incorporates 3 separate keyboard short cuts? I use Ctrl+C, Ctrl+N and Ctrl+V to copy smaller sections of an image from a larger image to create a new smaller image...Hope that makes sense. I use these 3 short cuts repeatedly and would love to asign the task to one keyboard short cut. I have tried creating an action but that did not seem address my needs. I am using Photoshop CS5 version 12.0.

Thank you for the reply, Chris. I did record an action and each time I used the assigned keyboard shortcut it kept creating the same image that was originally copied. Obviously I did something wrong...

I open pdf's in an application (no add ons for acrobat exist), and want to combine them without having to use time on saving them before merging them into one single document.
Is it possible to do this without having the files saved onto your computer? I use acrobat x pro.

I dont think you understand my question. Of course Adobe reader cant combine pdf's, if it could I would not have had to purchase Adobe acrobat.
The problem I am trying to solve is how to combine pdf files when they are not opened/saved locally on my computer.
If I make Acrobat the standard program for opening pdf files on my computer - then will it be possible to combine the files that are opened without saving them first?
I dont have the program installed on my computer now, and have to know this before we purchase it.

They are really static xml files that are placed in a folder
directly by =
the weather service. The files in question are current.xml

forecast.xml.
And there is not one per city .. but just one of each. the

node in current.xml and the citycode node in forecast.xml
contain the =
same information.
If I were doing this in a recordset with a database, I would

something like SELECT whatever from current, forecast WHERE =

(which would be what is clicked on).
This sets up a master/detail arrangement for the first one

fine. Click on the city code (which I have to write something

Is it possible to Combine photostream in iphoto?

It woud be great if It is possible to combine more single photostreams into one iPhoto application.
My wife and daughter have each their own iCloud account. But we would like That The photos come together in iPhoto without syncing with My iMac.
Is this at the moment possible?

I agree, this would be a great addition to iPhoto, for it to support multiple photo streams. Currently my work around is to have my iCloud account be the primary on my wife's iPhone with all features turned off excluding Photo Stream, and then her account is an additional iCloud/email account with all features turned on (except Photo Stream).
One major downside to this is that all of her backups are going against my iCloud quota.
You should submit iPhoto Feedback to request this feature/enhancement.

I had a SDN account and now I got my OSS account.when I want to go to http://sdn.sap.com and I will login this forum with my OSS account automatically. It seems it is because of my setting of SAP Passport in my OSS profile. It is not so convenient when I want to check/manage my threads, which were posted by my SDN account. So I want to know it is possible to combine my SDN account into my OSS account. (for example, accredit all my SDN thread into the name of my OSS account, or link my oss account to SDN account, etc).

Possible to combine Panther into one disk?

I own my own set of Panther disks.. I wanted to know if its possible to combine all three disks into one DVD? Has anyone did that or ever attempted to do so?
From Tiger onward all my disks have been DVD's naturally.

Even if the three CD images were burned to a DVD disc, the natural scripting which
runs at intervals during the original installation process may be asking for a second
CD when the image is already available; and so on. However, there may be a way
to work around that if someone is really clever or extremely focused.
If a DVD had three install disc images on there (seen on desktop as three CDs)
the natural script to' Eject disc 1 and ask for disc 2' etc; may be unnecessary.
However, this does get into an area where Discussions may be not the correct place
when the details may invoke some rule breaking; even if unintentionally directed there.
This does get into some speculative and perhaps 'end user rule' areas best left alone;
especially outside of ones secret clandestine laboratory in the basement? LOL.
Wonder if there's a USB flash drive method of making a backup copy, that'd work?
I'd hate to think the original, hard to find install disc set, would be lost or damaged.
Usually, a clone of the installed system is adequate; for one computer at a time.

Oracle Order Management provides one to one mapping between Order and (orig_sys_document_ref & Order source). You may need to go for custom solution to consolidate requisitions to create a single internal sales order.

Combine multiple still images into one clip PE 10

Is it possible to combine mulitple still images into a single clip? For example, I have 50 still images in a video track, each of which is a clip, and I want to combine them into single clip out of them so I can adjust the opacity without having to adjust each of the 50 clips individually. I had done this but I was hoping there was an easier way to do it within PE, without having to export as a video file and then importing that video file.
One has to think about what PrE is doing with the Timeline, to understand why the Export/Share is necessary to get Stills/Clips to become one file. PrE is a non-destructive editor, in that it does not actually work with the Source Footage/Files, but only extracts data from them. What we see on the Timeline is really a proxy file, representing the edits that we are making. It is stored as XML language, with first links to the Source Files, and then a set of instructions on what we have done with that data. Since the Timeline is but a representation, of what we have done, there is no AV file - yet. That does not come about, until we Export/Share. At that point, PrE looks at the Project file (PREL), and notes exactly what data is required from the Source Files. The program then reads that information, and say gathers the data of Clip # 1 from 00;00;00;00 until 00;05;00;00, for use in the output file. It then moves to say Clip 2, and extracts the data needed there. Finally, the program processes that data, say adding Effects, and then Exports/Shares to a new file - creating that from the data, and the instructions. Still, the originals are not changed in any way - they are untouched, and only read from.
For instance, say we have a 20 min. Source Clip, and cut it into 30 tiny segments, "deleting" material between those. We have not really Cut that Source Clip, and we have not really deleted anything - only in our proxy file, and with the instructions in the PREL. It is the same with Still Images. We see them as separate Clips, with the Duration that we have set, and perhaps any animation that we have added via Keyframing the Fixed Effects>Motion>Scale (Zoom), and Motion>Position (Pan), but other than seeing those changes in the proxy file, used only for display of the Timeline and playback, nothing has been done yet. Then, upon Export/Share, when the output file is created, those changes are enacted on it.

is it possible to combine several regex queries into a javascipt? I export the text from a database with custom tags and the regex queries perform text AND character style replacements.
example
Let's say my exported text is the following
"I have a <tag_bold>very big text</tag_bold> that includes a lot of different character styles, such as <tag_bold>bold</tag_bold>, <tag_italic>italic</tag_italic>, <tag_bold>bold with some <tag_bold_underline>underlined words</tag_bold_underline></tag_bold>,
or ever words with different <tag_size-2>text size</tag_size-2>"
The result I want is
"I have a very big text that includes a lot of different character styles, such as bold, italic,
bold with some underlined words, or ever words with different text size"
Notice that all the tags open and close in the same paragraph and that there are nested tag pairs in some cases. So i execute my queries (more than 20) from the outer pair to the inner, that is:
<tag_bold>...</tag_bold>
<tag_italic>...</tag_italic>
<tag_size-2>...</tag_size-2>
<tag_bold_underline>...</tag_bold_underline>

1) I see now that my question was not clear enough.
In the text that is included between the tags, I want to apply a Character Style I have define in the character style palette of InDesign CS3.
That style can contain a lot of options, such as font family, size, style or color changes and is different for each tag.
2) I tested the function with my tags:

3) Using in the script only the body of the function and running it, it highlights the right words with that pink color and shows that the Style of the text is "tag_bold", which is not available in the font family I use (Minion Pro).
I think that the function needs a modification in the line "app.changeGrepPreferences.fontStyle = 'tag_bold';", especially the "fontStyle" attribute, but I don't know what it is. I'm not a javascript expert and maybe I don't know the right way to use this function with InDesign. I read some books about InDesign Scripting and Regular expressions, but I didn't found all the answers I need as the one above or how I can run all the queries in one script (this is necessery because of the number and the order of scripts, to avoid mistakes).

Keyboard short-cut for Restart and Shutdown?

Since recent keyboards and Mac OS X doesnt have keyboard short-cuts for Shutdown and Restart, is it possible to create new ones for these functions?
Also, why doesnt Mac OS X have these anymore (such as when it had the keyboard with that button you hit to bring up dialog box to shutdown, restart, etc).. that's what I'm looking for...
As for the reason I want this.. sometimes my display goes blank and I can't see anything and hence since you cant see the screen to mouse over to restart, etc... if I could hit a keyboard combo to bring up the restart dialog box and I then hit Enter, it would execute that action...

Keyboard short cuts functionality problems in MSS

Hi,
We have discovered that the keyboard short cuts does not function in the Portal (Manager Self Service) when setting up SAP R/3 transactions Iviews. I.e. in R/3 its possible to use "Ctrlshiftarrow-down" to select multiple entries in an table (program: approval of time recordings in cats). After having implemented the transaction iview we don't have this functionality anymore. Does anyone know what functions?

Just to clarify - you want keyboard shortcuts to the menu?
If so, I'm assuming you have JMenus containing JMenuItems - using the method
JMenuItem.setMnemonic(char c);will enable a shortcut.
Example:
JMenuItem menuItem = new JMenuItem("this is a menu item");
menuItem.setMnemonic('t');This will set the shortcut to be 't'.

Keyboard short cut not working in iOS 6 on iPhone

I just tried adding a new keyboard short cut on my iPhone 4S with iOS 6 and the short cut will not stay on the phone. I can enter it and it is added to the list of short cuts until I go back one screen, then the shor cut disappears. This worked fine under iOS 5 and still works fine on my iOS5 iPod Touch. Any ideas how to fix this?

I have an iPhone 4 with current iOS.
I've noticed this over the past few months. I always notice it on the FB app. My short cuts stop working. I will check email or note. I figured restarting the phone would fix it.
Here's the thing. Obviously I use FB a lot, but this short cut issues never happens in text messages, Whatsapp, or email. Always with FB.
In fact I noticed that I get sluggish typing performance typing using the FB app whether I use the keyboard short cuts or not.
Just wondering if this common among iPhone 4 users.
