  • Is it possible to make a shared folder between profiles?

    Hi,
My e-mail is a mess with personal and work e-mail and urgent and unimportant email mixed and I am losing a lot of productivity trying to manage the onslaught. I would like to be able to create a new profile for only important work e-mail.
I'm wondering - Is there a way to share only selected items between profiles? I was thinking if it were possible to create a "shared" folder that syncs when I close one profile, I could put the urgent items in there once every couple days when I check the "catch all" profile and then only deal with those in the "important work" profile. Is something like this possible?
    Thanks!
    Michael

One easy way to share material between accounts, or profiles, is to set up an IMAP-connected account solely for this purpose. You can drag-and-drop into it and from it.
Another approach is nearer to your query.
At '''[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences_in_Windows,_Linux,_and_Mac Tools|Account Settings]|Local Folders|Account Settings→Local Directory''' you can set what folder the Local Folders pseudo account uses. You could set this to the same folder in both profiles.
Be aware that this folder, if outside of the usual Profile folder, won't be automatically included in profile backup and moving operations; you need to remember what you've done and account for it.
I'd place this folder alongside your other profiles to give it a fighting chance of being remembered. ;-)

  • E4200 v1- problem creating a shared folder for the FTP server.

    Hi,
I'm trying to share an external USB harddrive (4TB- HFS+) that is attached to my e4200 router.  I'm trying to set up the FTP server, but when I try to create a shared folder, I get kicked out of the browser based interface for the router just as I'm trying to save the new shared drive.  I have tried many different things to get it to work: different computers (PC and Mac) different browsers, reflashing the firmware (which is version 1.0.06, build 3), I tried all of this with an NTFS formatted drive as well-  everytime I try to set up the shared folder- right as I hit the save button it kicks me out saying: Session Failure.
I can see my drive on the local network, and I know the FTP server is working, because I can log into it from the outside- but I don't see anything shared, when I do.
I have successfully gotten the media server to work using the same drive- but I can't create shared folder there either...  It seems to have shared the entire disk automatically when I first connected the drive to the router.
Anybody have anything else for me to try?
    Help!

Same problem. Has anyone found a solution? I contacted tech support and got nonsense responses. I was of course asked to Factory Reset even though I told them I had done it before I called - classic brush off. Basicly here is the problem.
    1. I cannot create a share on a USB connected HDD - this worked on the older Firmware. Now every time I try to set up the shared folder- right as I hit the save button it kicks me out saying: Session Failure. I am not the only person with the problem. Crazy thing is I had a share created and it worked after the upgrade. I wanted to add an additional share and now it wont share anything. HDD plugged into my PC works great. I was asked to try a different PC - even though I told them I tried from IE, Chrome, Firefox on a Windows 7, Vista, windows XP, IPad, Kindle and Samsung phone.
    2. While troubleshooting with the agent I discovered that although I have remote access disabled in the Administration>Management page but I can still access the router remotely. This is a huge security issue.
    3. Linksys is no longer a Cisco Company - if the code is this bad Belkin should take the Cisco logo out of the GUI. Don’t blame Cisco for your poor SW.
I am ready to buy a new router and avoid Linksys and Belkin all together in light of these issues.
Additionally, I would simply downgrade but the older Firmware is not available. When I asked for it I was told I could not get it.

    Hi,
Did you solve the issue with the help of the people provided above?
Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
If the issue persists, on Lync 2013 client, Option—Personal—Personal information manager: make sure you choose the “Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook”.

  • How to access to network shared folder from in-house web application mozilla firefox?

We are trying to access network shared folder from our in-house application but its not possible. The reason we found was because of security model. Please can you provide solution for this issue.
Incident Details for shared folder access issue
    Expected behaviour:
Network shared folders should be opened via all versions of Internet Explorer from an in-house web application.
    Actual behaviour:
Works fine in IE but not in Mozilla firefox. Refer snapshot.
    Server configuration:
    Web server: Apache

No warning or error message is shown.

    Hi,
If its a shared folder on windows drive with access permission to all, you might get your work done using simple GUI_UPLOAD.
Have you checked this. Just a thought.
    thnx,

  • Playing a FLV-File in a projector.exe from a network shared folder failes

We want to load and play FLV-Files while our project files
(Projector.exe) and FLV-files are sitting on a network shared
folder with UNC-Path access (\\FILESERVER\sharename\). The problem
is, that the flv-files do not play. If the same application runs on
a local system it works fine. The System.security.sandboxType is
"localTrusted" because it runs in a projector.
We do not want to map the shared folder to a drive letter!
    Thank you

I apologize if u can not load the page, its a hosting company issue, their server goes up and down randomnly so please to retry 15mn later, it will be available.  Thanks.

  • Can not edit file on network shared folder after upgrading to windows 7

Merry Christmas and happy new year,
Due to some configuration changes on a specific application, I have forced to upgrade OS of a few number of workstations from Windows XP to windows 7. After upgrading I am facing a strange problem on WIN7 workstations. These workstation are member of a Windows
2008 R2 Active Directory domain which also has a Windows 2003 advanced server additional domain controller. Also there are a number of shared folders on some member servers (all windows 2003) which are mapped as network drives at user logon. Before upgrading
mentioned workstations to WIN7, users was able to edit his/her files on all of mapped network drive according to his/her permissions without any problem on their WINXP workstations, But after installing windows 7 they begin facing problem on one of these mapped
network drives and the problem exactly is when they edit a file, in more specific word an excel file, and then try to save, the excel returns an error message of "document not saved" and exit the excel program. It becomes more strange when you learn
that the edited excel file is disappeared and replace with some "tmp" file. If user copy the excel file to his/her own desktop, edit it and then copy it back to its original place on mapped network drive, it will be replaced normally with its older
version. In other words if user wants to edit an excel file on that specific network drive, he/she must edits it somewhere else and then replace it on the network drive. If the same user uses a WINXP box, there will be no problem.
Can anybody help me to fix the issue?
    TIA
    Bijan

    Thank you Karen,
The problem is fixed, but my case was none of what you suggested. In fact I have
another problem which I described in another question and it was of the root of this excel file issue. I describe what I have done to fix the latter problem hope to help fixing similar issues to mine.
Okay, as it is described in the
question, I was not able to open a shared folder with its UNC address while it could be mapped as a network drive without any problem. I examined what I was replied and some other ways, came to no result. I decided investigate a similar shared folder in
permissions to problematic one to see if the problem is repeated. So I created a folder and shared it with similar permissions and examined it. Surprisingly there was no problem. It was wise to remove sharing of the problematic folder and share it again to
see if the problem resist. But when I tried to remove sharing I received an error message saying that
the shared folder is related to a DFS root. When I took a look at the DFS roots of domain there was no sign of the problematic folder (that made me recall that I created a DFS root with problematic folder mistakenly and removed that DFS root).
After little searching, I found out that the problem could be caused by traces of the removed DFS root. Yep! I found the suspect! The registry key
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\DFS\Domain\problematic shared folder. I removed the key restarted DFS service and log off and on and Bingo!
This problem pops up a few more questions:
    1) Why is not the registry key related to removed DFS root deleted from the registry of windows 2003 server?
    2) Why was I able to browse this ex-DFS root shared folder without any problem in windows XP while it was problematic in windows 7?
    3) As there is no special client service for DFS and user can access DFS root targets like other shared folders what is the deference between shared resource access mechanisms in windows XP and windows 7 that caused the problem?
    Bests,
    Bijan

  • How to setup a custom background in network shared folder Server 2012

We have a Server 2012 acting as Domain server, and also has a shared folder. The client computers are Windows 8.1. Now I need to set up a picture as the background of the shared folder, and I want all client computers to see that picture when open it. How
    can I do that?
I tried this solution but did not work:
Create a desktop.ini fine inside that folder and put following contents,
    [AveFolder]
    IconArea_Image="C:\images\folder1.jpg"
Once it is done reboot the machine. This folder will be visible with the sepcified image,
    Please help me, thanks guys!

    Hi,
As you said it will not work since Windows Vista. I've seen some third party appliations could help change the background of a shared folder.

  • Styles being dropped on network shared folder files in Dreamweaver CS5.5

Hello, apoligies if this has already been solved but I could not find anything similar. Recently we have upgraded our staff from Dreamweaver CS4 to CS5.5 and are having some issues with pages dropping the stylesheets which are linked relatively. The relative files are located on a shared network drive which is mapped in Windows 7 as a drive (e.g. My Computer shows the drive as R:).
In Dreamweaver design view up the top it reads:
    Address: file:///R|/acrrm/tinnitus/course_content/001.html
and there is a yellow bar up the top which reads:
'common_styles.css' is a remote file and cannot be edited.
We never had this issue before so I was wondering if it was a new limitation of CS5.5 or if there was something I should look out for in the site definition.
Interestingly enough I was able to fix this on one machine by randomly toggling the live code/view buttons, havent had any luck doing that to other machines though.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Here are the specs:
    O.S: Windows 7
    Version: Dreamweaver CS5.5
    Site Definition: Network shared drive

Interestingly enough I was able to fix this on one machine by randomly toggling the live code/view buttons, havent had any luck doing that to other machines though.
I would have to say that this operation could not possibly fix anything.  I suspect that simply waiting the same amount of time as this operation required would have returned the same result, and it sounds like there is some latency in your network.
Your site is entirely contained on a network shared drive, right?  Or is it that only SOME files are on the network shared drive (R:)?  Also, where is it you are seeing this?
    Address: file:///R|/acrrm/tinnitus/course_content/001.html

I know that it's possible to make a droplet for preflight, but is it possible to create a droplet or a hot folder for another batch processes (mine crops the pages)? Or at least make a keyboard shortcut? It's so unproductive to go Advanced>Document Processing>Batch Processing>Run>Close (Adobe spoiled us with custom shortcuts in other programs)...

Yes, it is one of the things AirPort Express was specifically designed for.

  • How do i create a shared folder?

I need to transfer some files from my Windows XP PC to my Ibook G4 and I don't know how to make a shared folder cause I'm pretty bad with network related stuff.

The shared folder is built in to your user account. To access it via XP you need to activate Windows File Sharing under Preference/Sharing and make sure your account is enabled.
From there you should be able to see it from XP.
I'm not 100% sure about what you have access from there, but I think you'll figure it out.

  • Can no longer connect to shared folder via Samba (10.5.8)

I used to be able to connect to shared folders on my leopard (10.5.8) PPC machine via Samba.
Now, when I choose "Go to Folder..." from another machine and enter the correct URL (smb://192.168.0.XXX), I get a list of all the volumes and users, including public folders of some users, but the share point (shared folder) I defined does not appear.
I tried moving that folder around (it was in /Users/Shared/, then I put it at root / ), removing and re-adding, turning file sharing and samba off and on multiple times, and restarting the computer.
    Nada.
    Any ideas?

It seems I resolved this by changing the name of the folder I wanted to share, and adding that. No idea why it didn't like the previous name, but that seems to have worked around whatever the issue may have been.

  • What is the best way to export a .csv/.txt file to a MS Windows shared folder via a scheduled job?

What is the best way to export a .csv/.txt file to a MS Windows shared folder, when the export process is a scheduled job?

You can't directly, as scheduled jobs can only export to server-side data stores, which can only write to the landing area. You'll need to use an external script (e.g. batch file) to move the file from the landingarea after export. You can use an external task in the scheduled job to invoke the script.

  • XP connecting to 10.6 shared folder via SMB.

    Hi,
I am having a problem with XP connecting via SMB to a 10.6 folder.
The connection starts normally but the next day when I'm back in the office I usually need to restart the mac computer before the XP machines can connect to the shared folder.
    This is very frustrating.
    Anyone has some suggestions?
    Tks
    Ben

Make sure the time servers in both the PC & the Mac are are the same time server. Try to use a third party time server.

  • Afp sharing bug with static IP ? cannot connect to shared folder via wireless router

Does anyone ever try this ?
i got 2 macs (imac snow leopard 6.6 and macbookpro leopard 10.5.8). connect to a wireless router using UTP cable and set using static ip , connection  is ok, ping is ok, ftp between two mac is ok, browse the internet is ok. But i got on problem , i can't connect to shared folder. Error : 'connection failed' . i can see the other mac's icon on the shared section in finder, but i can't connect to it. The problem is fixed if --> The only way  i can connect to shared folder is if i changed the ip from static to dhcp. Or if i want to keep my static ip, i have to connect mac to mac (using crosscable or airport) without the router , then the sharing folder will work fine.  Anyone got similar problem? The problem only happen while sharing using afp and smb method. I have no problem with ftp, ftp sharing is working perfectly in any situation above.
My conclussion : afp sharing is having problem when apply with static IP and connected to router (or wireless router only ??) is this an afp bug on snow ?
    Any idea ?
    Thanx

I did pay the 12 dollars, but I think the program remembers with the free one.  If you didn't ever have to do port forwarding in the past, then you likely won't have to do it again.  I couldn't get modern warfare to play properly without it.  But your situation might be different.
If you had it in the DMZ, then that is a work around to doing port forwarding, so that will still work for you as it did before, and if you reset it properly, then yes you will have to put the ps3 back in the dmz.
just keep in mind if you changed your WiFI SSID or Password, it will reset to the default, and the default is found on your sticker that is on your router.
