Is it possible to delete linked SharePoint Lists?
Greetings everyone,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. So, I'm building a database for my organization, which is a nursing division at a hospital--it's rather large and rather involved--but there are only certain pieces of information that need
to be on the SharePoint like proficiency data and training dates, etc...
All the master data will be managed and stored in Access on a restricted folder on the network server, however, the idea is to slowly start migrating nurses to the SharePoint to get simple query-able information about routine tasks that pertain to them.
No personal data will be shared with SharePoint.
So, as I've been building this particular site, I decided to test it out and exported (NOT linked) related tables from Access to a couple SharePoint lists. It turns out to not be what I wanted to do, so I try to delete the lists in SharePoint
but cannot. It says that the LISTS are linked to one another and neither can be moved to the site's recycle bin. I have verified that the data is not at all connected to Access (which is good!), so it's definitely all an issue with SharePoint.
I've tried using SharePoint Workspace to delete the lists, but that doesn't work either.
So here's my question:
How do I delete LISTS in SharePoint that (apparently) are linked/related to one another??? There's got to be a way to do it, because I can't delete them individually. Is there a way to select multiple tables for deletion or something???
this falls into the topic of "foreign key constraints" and "cascading deletions"... delete the lists which perform the lookups first... then delete the lists that were being looked up from.

Raúl.unfortunately , it is not possible to delete vendor list....
only released supplier lists will be considered for source of supply , so if you dont want the system to consider the vendor list --> you can change the status to hold...
and it will not be considered further.. -
Delete added SharePoint Lists in Outlook automatically
Hi
We add successfully a SharePoint contact list to Outlook with group policies for more than 300 Users.
After migration to a new list with a new stssync-String we need to remove the old list. Is there any way to do automate this job with GPO or a script.
We use SharePoint 2010 with Outlook 2013.

Based on my knowledge, after you add successfully a SharePoint contact list to Outlook with group policies, the SharePoint list is added completely in Outlook as a local file.
If you un-configure this group policy, the SharePoint contact list would still be listed in user’s local machine. Users can remove the list manually from SharePoint List in Outlook account settings. Personal suggestion, we can ask a question in Outlook program
forum to confirm if it can be achieved by using a script or coding:

Possible to delete duplicative message lists?
Hello -- I'm the new owner of a Pearl 8130 and I'm still finding my way around the device. I've set up email, but I now have two separate message lists -- one called "Messages" and one that is named after my Gmail email address. They both display the exact same list of messages, so it's not that they are linked to different email accounts -- it's the same account, just listed twice. Is there any way to delete one of these message lists so that I only have one? On my old BlackBerry, I didn't have any redundant lists. Thanks very much in advance to anyone who can help me out with this question!

JeffNormally when a Device is set up to link to a Companys Blackberry Server, it would have the main 'messages' for the company email, and the second mail icon for their personal accounts (gmail etc)
It sounds like u possibly set this up incorrectly.. Try logging into your carriers BIS site and see if you created a @blackberry.ap email account.
Delete that one and just have ur Gmail account associated with it..

Not possible to delete link investment program position from Appropriation request
Dear specialists,
We have a problem with deleting a linked investment program position in an appropriation request (IMA3, IMA11 or IMA12).
We could edit some of the appr.req.'s but a few give an error.
Steps done:
We deleted the status BUDG from the linked projects (budgets deleted and OPSX for deletion of status).
The we run the IM27_repeat.
For the most of the appr.req.'s the linke was removed (table IMZO).
For a few of our req.'s the link is not removed so that we can't link the new progr.pos. to this appr.req.

Outlook - The path specified for the file SharePoint Lists PST is not valid
Some users are connecting via Citrix XenApp to Microsoft Server 2008 R2 and using Microsoft Office 2010 (14.0.7109.5000) SP2 MSO (14.0.7116.5000) - Microsoft Office Profressional Plus 2010 x86 version for their email. Microsoft Exchange Server 2010
SP2 for email.
They are connected to Microsoft SharePoint 2010 SP2 August 2013 CU, via a SharePoint Calender; they have View permissions to the SharePoint calendar using Classic Mode permissions (Not Claims). No permissions have / are changing on this SharePoint
Calendar. They connect to the SharePoint Calender to Outlook.
When they open up their Office Outlook client, they receive an error "Outlook Data File" "The path specified for the file \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\SharePoint Lists.pst is not valid." OK
They select OK and they get a window popping up with the option to try to find the SharePoint list. "Create/Open Outlook Data File" (File name: 'SharePoint Lists') Open Cancel. They select Cancel.
They are returned to their Outlook client "email."
As an I.T. administrator and SharePoint Administrator, I had a remote session with them, using Bomgar software and I Go to File Menu, Account Settings, SharePoint Lists Tab but there is no list there so go to the Data Files tab and see SharePoint Lists listed.
Selecting it once, and clicking on Settings... button gives error message similar to the one above about PST not valid.
STRANGE in that, when you do that! You can go to Home tab, Calendar (Ctrl+2), and see Other Calendars and now the SharePoint calendar that was supposed to be there before, but was just "empty!" There was only the Other Calendars
option but it didn't have any "sub" calendar item.
A similar issue is when Other Calendars is listed, and has a sub calendar listed, a SharePoint connected calendar. You click on it and get "Microsoft Outlook" "The set of folders cannot be opened. The path specified for the file c:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\SharePoint
Lists.pst is not valid." OK
Click OK and go through the above steps to get the same result. After going into Account Settings, Data Files, checking on the Settings... button, and receiving the error message, again mentioned above, and the prompt to Create/Open Outlook Data File,
thgen I can go back into Account Settings, Data Files, and double click on the SharePoint Lists and instead of an error, the Outlook Data File comes up, with Change Password... Compact Now, Comment, Name, Filename, Format (Outlook Data File) OK Cancel.
Can go back to the Calendar (Ctrl+2) and Other Calendars, and the SharePoint Calendar "Sub calendar" will appear and operate as normal! All was done was go into the Account settings and "check" on the "error."
Tried to delete the SharePoint Lists and close out and add it and then go back in, and it "worked" for a few days. I later turned on Logging and for over 24 hours it was on for the user. The user was not on forever.
In the Outlook Logging folder, from the users profile, I found many *.log files, firstrun, OPMLog, ETL files, one of which is 6MB, and some prof_001_outlook....txt files. I clickedo n the SharePoint Lists.pst.log file 1KB

They are using a CRM client 2011 (Server is CRM 2011 - on premise) as well as having other connected email accounts - managed accounts, like Accounting or HR, etc.
What can I look for / provide for you all to assist? I am almost ready to open a ticket with Microsoft to resolve this as it has been happening for multiple users for multiple weeks.
When "I" go in, logged on as myself, I do NOT have this problem, however my account is not "old" in that I just logged onto the account domain\matthew.carter, where these users use their accounts day in and day out for weeks / months

Unfortunately, what was marked as an "answer" by the moderators isn't really an answer at all to the problem. We are experiencing pretty much an identical issue with a calendar people are adding to Outlook 2010 from SharePoint 2010 within a XenApp
server (using roaming profiles). However, we have not had the issue occur outside of XenApp yet. -
Sharepoint List Retention Policy based on Modified Date
How do I implement a Sharepoint List Retention Policy that deletes list items that haven't been modified in X days?
I've tried to create a retention policy in Sharepoint, but I only get the option to base the policy on:
Created Date
Declared Record
I need the policy to be based on Modified Date, a standard date field that appears against all lists & document libraries. Is there a configuration change I can make to cause Modified Date to appear in the list of available fields on the Retention Policy

We found more elegant solution was to create a List View which returns all records that should be deleted, based on our own custom deletion criteria, and then create an very simple SSIS Package in Visual Studio using the
Sharepoint Connectors for SSIS to delete all Sharepoint List Items returned from that List View. The Sharepoint Destination Connector has a delete operation.
This worked for us and didn't require any coding. -

CAML Query to Sort SharePoint list items based on Modified date
hi ,
can we sort sharePoint list items based on 'Modified' column, the sorting should be done up to milliseconds level.
currently i am using CAML query as below

Is it possible to give link of document library in sharepoint list in 2010

Using share point list data we have shown in reports. For this we create 1 view and shown as reports. we have 1 document library with title field, same field is in list also.when we click on link on list - it redirects to library folder.
Is their anyway to do that where as list is custom list.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a link in your list, then this link is linked to a library folder. Is it right?
You can create a Hyperlink field in your list as opening your list->clicking on ‘Create Column’ under List ribbon, then type a name for the column, select the type of the column is Hyperlink or Picture, and Format URL is :Hyperlink.
After that, when you create a new item or edit an item in the list, you can type the URL of the related library folder in this link field.

I am having trouble with my infopath form now that I have linked my Sharepoint list to an Access database.
Background: I created a simple SharePoint list and a few workflows to have users submit requests for changes to my organization's EMR system and have those requests be approved by the appropriate manager/department. I used
InfoPath to customize my form so that it would hide/show different portions depending on what the user selected. The form has 3 views: NewItem, EditItem, ViewItem.
Issue: The form and workflows were working great until I linked my SharePoint list to an access database so that I could run queries and reports using that information. Now when I click "Add New Item" on my Sharepoint site,
the correct form opens but the fields do not allow me to input any data and some of the formatting for the form has changed (ie: the text boxe fields are no longer centered. I opened the form in InfoPath and it displays perfectly fine in there but
not once it's published to the site) .
The only way that I've been able to input new data is using Datasheet view in SharePoint.
Is there a way to fix this issue? I really need to be able to have the customized forms for users to fill out the information since most users are not familiar enough with SharePoint to expect them to be able to use Datasheet view to submit their requests.
Again, I'm using InfoPath 2013, Access 2013 & SharePoint Server 2010
If the issue cannot be fixed, how can I disconnect or unlink my SharePoint list from the Access database because when I cliecked on "delete list" from inside Access, a warning popped up stating that it will also delete the list off of SharePoint
as well. If I can get the list back to the state it was in before linking to Access then I'll be happy enough to export it excel and then importh the excel file to Access as a work around for reporting purposes since I don't have to run the reports that
often.

I tested the same scenario per your post in my environment, however the InfoPath form was not affected if I used the list as external data in Access database.
The issue may be due to the browser you used.
I recommend to verify the things below:
Change another browser to see how it works.
Add the site to the trusted zone and add to compatibility settings in Internet Explorer.
Test with a new list to narrow down the issue scope.
As a workaround, you can save the list as a template including content, and then create a new list based on this template.

Is possible to take the Infopath form with two repeat section in one Sharepoint list
Take two repeat section and put them one bellow to other one in a SP list.
The motive is that the first repeat section is based in account own by the requestor and the second repeat section is when the requestor is doing backup time for some one else where need to log the amount of time that spend in the peer account.
I have basic logic in the form when requestor said Are you doing backup for some else? and press YES it is be able to use the second repeat section.
Le me know how much pain full is going tobe or not..
