Is it possible to display a native pdf document in AIR?

I'm not that familiar with AIR but i was wondering if it's possible to display a native pdf document in AIR. If so are any add-on's required or does AIR have that capability built in. Essentially I would be trying to create a pdf viewer in that allows users to markup documents and save them to the server for others to view. I'm just in the discovery phase of this project, so any guidance would be great.

I have one quick question. Is it possible to share excel and pdf documents through SAP BO Mobile?
I tried it uploading documents to BO Launch pad and assigning them to Mobile category. I can't see them in my ipad. Is there another way to share these kind of files through SAP Mobile in mobile devices? and how?

No that won't do it. Because my users have their own excels which are not related to BO or BW platforms. They are entering data manually to excel spreadsheets and reporting. We just want to upload them to BO platform and let them share those files with other users.
I know I could create a webi report on top of excel, but we don't want to spend redoing the reports in excel.

Display of many PDF documents in webdynpro

Hi dear SAP experts,
I want to display a huge number of one-sided existing pdf documents (100) in a browser using webdynpro for ABAP. The pdf documents exist either in MIME repository or fixed destination on a server. The documents are all delivered successfully inside the program logic as a table of pdfdate (xstring). Then each of them is displayed in a webdynpro view in Webdynpro Interactive Form. The display in Internet Explorer 6 workes fine for the first 30 documents, but then I get an error message from the browser "The maximum number of PDF-Documents to be opened simultaniously in the browser is exceeded!".
Is it possible to set the maximum number of pdf documents to a higher number? Is this a SAP / webdynpro issue or can this be configured in the adobe reader (8.0) configuration?
Is there any way to combine all the pdf documents into one single pdf document? I get all pdfs in xstring format! This is also desired by our customer.
Can you give me some hints?

My customer needs both printing and displaying the files, but printing is definitly the more important part. Is it possible to push a PDF file (that has been read from a server destination into SAP as Xstring (binary)) to a printer defined in SAP? Can you tell me how a open a spool request and insert the data (XSTRING) of the PDF file?
I'll try out the link you send me for displaying many PDF files on one webpage.

MIGO- DISPLAY GR - ATTACH PDF DOCUMENTS USING DMS.

Dear SAP Experts,
We have requirement of attaching the PDF document to material document using DMS. So that in future if we see the GR in MIGO, we can view that PDF. Also we don't want deletion of this PDF once attached to material document.
We found that in DMS attachement facility to material document is not available. In Purchase order screen ME22N we can see the DMS document button, but in MIGO this DMS attchment Icon is not there. Service for object facility is available but we don't want this facility.
Please suggest how to achieve this.

Use archivelink for attaching documents to MIGO . The documents attached to MIGO can be displayed by opening the respective Material documents.
As far as deletion is concerned you can make use of the authorization objects in Archivelink to achieve this.

Is it possible to scale an entire pdf document and save it?

i have an existing pdf document that is 400 pages. i need to scale the entire thing to 95% of it's current size. i do NOT want to print it, so please don't tell me to go to page size and print.
i simply want to scale the entire document to 95% of it's current size and then save it as a pdf document.
is this possible?

Another method would be to place the pages in an InDesign document and export a new PDF. InDesign CS2 and higher let you place multiple pages at a time. It's not automated but it's pretty fast.

When using firefox, table lines are displayed in a pdf document when I set them to backround colour not to display borders, can you help?

I am an Web Designer and create PDF files for download from the sites that I develop. I use version 19.0 of Firefox.
Included in these PDF files are tables which display certain data, and I have made some table columns wider with the fill colour the same colour as the table border colour.
Recently table borders have appeared in the filled in areas, which I do not want to happen.
Also the look of the Adobe Reader is different in Firefox. and normal in IE and Opera browser which I also use.
So overall, the the PDF file is not being displayed correctly in Firefox. If I could I would have attached a screen dump of the display error, to help. Can you offer a solution please?

I found a temporal solution which is change the default "previewer" in the Options -> Applications tab

Html display order : PDF document in AIR application

I read
"The display order of a PDF file operates differently than other display objects in an AIR application. Although PDF content clips correctly according to HTML display order, it will always sit on top of content in the AIR application's display order."
I am concerned with the "PDF content clips correctly according to HTML display order" part. I would like to know what it exactly means. That is I want to be sure that I could put, for example, and image over the PDF doc, or any other HTML elements without them being graphically overridden by the PDF view. Thanks in advance.

My reading of the quoted bits is: Inside the PDF, layer ordering rules should work correctly. But the PDF itself will float above any other content in AIR.

Is it possible to recover an original pdf document from a modified version??

I received a court document in pdf thats internal content was modified, is it in anyway possible to recover the original from the modified version?

It is possible they did a quick save to preserve the file identity, the metadata shows the program used was to modify the document was 'tx11 pdf version 11.0.111.501. Are either of you familiar with such a program?
I am on xp, when I right click properties there is a separate pdf tab. Indicating: The file was created jan 2012 and modified August 2013. The pdf producer is tx11 pdf 11.0.111.501.
I had a friend of a friend look at it and he said "the content was modified, not the file container itself, August 1st 2013, 5:13 a.m. according to its meta data the modification was made by tx11 pdf version 11.0.111.501". He gave me a printout of the metadata but I dont know the program used.
Whats interesting is the modification date is the same in pdf properties tab but the modification time is 9 am a 4 hour difference. 5 am is before office hours 9 am is shortly after arriving. The august date was a week after a court order.
So it is possible the file was taken home modified then replaced on the office computer. I am suspecting by a paralegal.

How to display (not download) pdf document on web page?

In that case, you would not create a hyperlink to it. This just enables it to be downloaded.
It won't work with Word, so it would have to be a pdf, but you can copy and paste it into iWeb. Go to the document and press Command + C. Then go to your iWeb page where you want the document to appear and press Command + V and it should appear in iWeb. You can alter and re-size it so that it can be viewed.

I would like to know if is there any possibility to display invoice print (PDF) in sales order (Credit/Debit note) as attachment.
Issue: Customer raise the credit note with the reference of invoice, sometimes user don't explain the reason for credit and don't attach any reference document in sales order(credit request).
Customer requirement: Customer want to display reference invoice print (PDF)in sales order(Credit request) for validator so validator can cross check with invoice and validate the credit note.
Could you suggest the best solution?

Auto Start A PDF Document

I have Acrobat 8. I'm relatively new at this so I don't know if it's even possible. I created a PDF document with an index on the first page with hyperlinks to the remaining pages as necessary. Is it possible to burn the document to a CD and have it auto start somehow to display the first page of the document? I somehow don't think so but can't be sure.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are several links if you search on "cd autostart" that explain the process. I do not have a recommendation for a specific version and am always concerned about playing with an EXE that is downloaded. However, reading about the process may be useful to you to at least know where you are headed. I am sure that some of the others here may have a good recommendation for the specific software. Several of my conference CDs have an autostart.inf that sets the process in motion and calls an autostart.exe file (38kB). This file has an autostart.ini that gives the configuration information for the EXE file.
Some of the sites also include information about enabling the CD autostart for a MAC also.

Scanning directly to a .pdf document

I just bought a new computer (with Windows 8) and installed Adobe Reader XI. With that Adobe product is it possible to scan directly into .pdf documents? Or must one upgrade/buy to some other version of Adobe? I used to be able to scan directly to .pdf documents from my scanner/printer using file/create pdf/from scanner but that route doesn't appear available now.

If you did that using an Adobe product, it wasn't Reader. More than likely Acrobat.
But, you're scanner may have software that will scan directly to PDF. I'd check with the manufacturers.

PLEASE HELP. Cannot open a PDF document via a link in an email. I am using Mac 10.7.5 and Firefox.

If I receive a PDF document attached to an email by way of an icon, I can double click on the PDF icon and the document opens. HOWEVER, if I receive a link to a PDF document in an email, and I click on the link which leads me to a webpage with another link to a PDF document, when I click on the document, a new web page opens but NOTHING happens - no download box - just nothing.

Yes, I can right click and 'Save As' - but I don't want to. I want it to open as it used to open - displaying the open PDF document in a new web page.
Then I tried to click on a download button on a website to retrieve my statement - but again, a new web page would open but it would be BLANK. No sign of any download.
When I used to open PDFs on a webpage, I used to get the Download box which asked if I want to OPEN or SAVE. This doesn't appear any more.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have already gone to HD / Internet Plug-ins and deleted the two Adobe PDF plug ins - but this hasn't fixed my problem.

Can I display a MS Word Document as part of a page

No, its impossible. I have never had that requirement, but if you want to review Word document as JSF page fragment, you can try to create helper servlet that gets MS Word and converts it to HTML (e.g using Apache POI - library to access Microsoft format files http://poi.apache.org/ ). Then you can try display this HTML using iframe or <jsp:include> and <f:verbatim> tag in your jsf page. I'ts my fast and free think - I have never tried this.
