Is it possible to download ebooks from amazon into itunes and then sync to the ipad2 without wi-fi?
We have an ipad2 without wi-fi or 3G. We download games with itunes onto a PC and then sync to the ipad. We are not able to do this with ebooks using kindle or nook for ipad. Is wi-fi necessary in order to download books from Amazon/ Barnes & Nobles?
It is necessary for Amazon's Kindle app as you download the ebooks directly (wirelessly) into the app from the Amazon site, it's not done via iTunes (I don't think that there is any other way, though I haven't checked their website). Don't know about Barnes & Noble as I havn't used it. If you don't have a wireless network yourself do you have any coffee shops etc nearby that you could use for downloading the ebooks ?

Even if there was a convenient way, the software will not run on the pad. Ios is a unique language, and only programs written for ios will run on the pad. All of the programs are in the app store. You might look there and see if the company that makes your sfotware also has an ios version, which would be in the store.

Because I have limited internet package on my att iphone 5, I update apps on my computer thru ITunes and then sync them to my phone. The downloads seems to go thru and then install. But when I turn on my phone, the affected apps continue to say they are updating and it never goes away. I do not have wifi but when I am connected, the apps don't update. Help!!!!
Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

Sure, just use Handbrake to encode the DVD movie into a format that is playable on iTunes and on your iPad:

How do I download Ebooks from Amazon and read in IBook? I know there is a Kindle app for my IPad. But I like to use IBook for reading? Must I do some kind of conversion? If so how? The kind of books I read are more likely to be on amazon than in the IBook store.
I use Calibre all the time. As others have said: e-books purchased from Apple's iBookstore have Apple DRM unless the publisher specifically offered a DRM-free e-book. Kindle e-books have both an Amazon proprietary format and may have Kindle DRM too. None of these protected formats can be legally converted to anything else. If you have an e-book in open EPUB format, it should read fine on the iOS iBook devices, but it will never read on the Kindle becuase Bezos has said the Kindle will never support EPUB.
If you have a non-DRM protected e-book file in EPUB or any other format including some word processor files, chances are that Calibre can convert it to a readable file on the iPad, iPhone, Kobo or Kindle devices. Calibre is a format converter. Just play around with the source and destination menus on Calibre.
How well the book looks on the iBook or Kindle or whatever-reading device depends more on the quality of the source file than anything Apple does. I hope this helps. -
Can anybody help, my computer downloads itunes and then right at the end of the process it says that it cannot continue because I have insufficient privileges in my C:file/itunes/bin -log on as administrator???? Has anybody had this problem before and if so do you know how I can rectify this?
Thanks.This is a Windows question about Windows user account privileges. Go to your Windows user account settings and check if your account has admin rights. If not, log in as administrator and give your account the correct rights. Or, better yet, when you get the message provide the admin account password and continue with the install.
If you are not the administrator for the computer, contact him/her and ask them to install the app or give you the necessary privileges. Or try asking on a Windows forum. -

It's a straightforward port-forwarding issue.
You need to forward ports to the internal ip address of your apple tv as follows:

Can I download ebooks from Amazon to My Ipad?
I used my netbook to download kindle ebooks directly to my Kindle Device and would like to know if I can download those that are say that are available for Amazon or Apple? I know I can download to my PC and transfer to my Appile Ipad but I thinkk there may be a way to download directly to my ipad just like it will to my Kindle Device but I don't know anything about electronics and and have no idea if this can be done or if I must downolad to my PC and transfer using a USB poirt? So, I save for a reason but most I just have not taken time to do becuase it takes so long to go through them individually and delete each one and there are some on each page that I want to keep. Is theire are way to archive old emails you may need later and if so, would it clear up space?
I have an Acer Netbook, AspireOne 721 without a CD drive and my computer shows, I have only used about 1/3 of the memory so it I should be okay but how can I determine the amount used on my Ipad? Please no laughing, I am doing the best I can for a disabled senoir citizen.

There is no way that 5 CD's should be eating up all of the storage on your iPad. But if you have a ton of games on the iPad, they can take up a lot of space. But you can check your available space in Setrings>General>Usage>Storage. -

Is there a reason I'd be getting two copies of each photo I download from my camera into Iphoto? And is there a way of making it stop doing that?
They're both in the library, right next to each other.

What is the make of your camera?
Does your camera do RAW?
Does your camera have a setting that will also do a jpeg conversion of the RAW image?
If so, check the settings for your camera and make sure it is set not to do that.
Does your camera have a setting where it does an HTML file of your images. This will produce a smaller jpeg thumb. If you have it on that setting, change it. -
same problem as all you others. Downloaded iTunes 10.5 twice and still not able to acess the iTunes store. Done everything suggested on the website and by the e mail from Apple (which just refs to the website!) Nothing wrong with the rest of my web acess. What is going on!
However, I can no longer access the iTunes store as the PC just sits there in limbo.

I have subscribed to the cloud package including Ps and Lr after previously downloading the Ps CC trial.
Cannot open up a newly downloaded Ps, just keeps saying that my trial has expired.

You can license the trial version software with your Adobe ID and activate the software.
The subscription is linked to your Adobe ID.

I am having trouble viewing the third episode of a tv series that I have downloaded on Itunes. Any suggestions?
It won't work, they are linked to your account and can only be played via iTunes on a computer, an iOS device or Apple TV. You might be able to get a cable to link your Mac to your TV so that you can play/mirror it through your TV e.g. if it's a Macbook with an HDMI socket and your TV also has an HDMI socket then you could try an HDMI to HDMI cable (Apple do them, and electrical stores should also have them) - I've used one to play iTunes TV programmes on my TV (though I don't think that I got sound through my TV, only my Mac).
