Is it possible to import MS Outlook Mail for MAC 2011 files into AppleMail?

Yes and no.
Outlook for Windows (or Mac) can save individual emails as .msg format, Apple Mail cannot import these but there is a utility that can convert them to the .eml format supported by Apple Mail.
See http://45rpmsoftware.com/mailraider.php
Outlook for Windows can also export entire folders of emails as PST files, again Apple Mail cannot import these but there are utilities which can convert PST files to the mbox format supported by Apple Mail.

After the latest OS X update (10.9.2) I cannot open Outlook (Office for MAC 2011).  Outlook flashes briefly but does not open.  How can I get Outlook to open?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Outlook (office for Mac 2011) not working with Mountain Lion

Ever since I upgaded to mountain lion outlook (office for Mac 2011) takes 2 minutes to start up. Apple support tells me that MSFT has not done its work. SO I don't recommend anybody who is using outlook to upgrade.

This forum is for troubleshooting Apple Software Update for Windows, a software package for Windows designed to update Apple products that run on Windows, and not related to Microsoft Office in any way. I suggest you post Office related questions on Microsoft's own forums for their Mac products.

  • Stuck in "Import" section of Mail for Mac OS X

So im using the wizard setup and i have a gmail account. I did everything up to the "Import section." The page says
    Import data from:
    1.Mirosoft Entourage
    2.Outlook Express
    3.Claris Emailer
    4.Netscape/Mozilla
    5.Eudora
    6.Mal for Mac OS X
    7.Other
I am stuck on what to do and what it's asking me to do. I only have Microsoft Entourage as a office for mac trial version so i dont want to set anything up on entourage for my Mail settings because i dont know what would happen after the expiration date. can someone help me?

Basically it wants to know what format your existing messages are in and where they are stored. It will get both those bits of information from your answer.
In your case, you don't have any messages stored on your system (you haven't set up Entourage). Your messages are on a remote gmail server in gmail format. You should choose 'other'. I have never been down this part of the route, so I don't know what comes next.
What you are aiming to do is to get your gmail address in to mac Mail as your main mail address. If you make a mistake, you can always add another account in mac Mail with the correct details, then delete the old mac Mail account which contains the wrong details. This will not affect your gmail. So although this 'wizard' only runs the first time, don't think that you have to get it right or else.

  • Appointments not showing in Outlook Office for Mac 2011

I have recently migrated my pc Outlook to Office for Mac.I have 2 issues so far: 1: is that when I create then save an appointment is doesnt show in calendar. 2:Is that whilst my migrated mail shows under "On my computer" I seem unable to attach/configure an email account to it effectively making it little more than an archive. Can anyone advise?

    In Word,
    File | Open
Click on Your HD, double click Users, then find and double click on
[your username] (as opposed to Shared).
    Double-click Library.
Scroll down to Application Support, double click, and choose
Microsoft. Select Office, and then find User Templates You should see
    Normal.dot or Normal.dotm.
Open this, and adjust ALL the settings you like (margins, font, spacing, you can even type in the doc to include space for where you want your name, title, date to appear on every document you create in the future!)
Don't forget to SAVE! Then exit.
Open a new doc and fill in the blanks/change your prompts and GO!

  • Is it possible to import an existing Struts web app WAR file into Workshop?

I browse the documents and tried using the workshop with no avail trying to import
an existing Struts WAR file. If someone know of a way doing this, I would really
appreciate a pointer or so. If this is not possible, please let me know so I will
not end up pulling out all my hair....
    TIA

Export the OMF from an audio app like ProTools or Logic as a stereo pair AIFF, then use that with your video. Chop it up if you need to checkerboard.
Of course this will only work if the audio is very simple - overlapping audio will mess you up. If you can figure out the audio app part, you can split up your OMF into separate tracks.
But then if you can't get it into an audio app, you're a bit hosed.

  • I need help exporting Apple Mail messages to Outlook for MAC 2011

    Good morning,
I need help exporting Apple Mail messages to Outlook for MAC 2011. Please....

It is possible to do this without external tools, but it is a tremendous faff. See
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macoutlook/import-ema il-from-mail-to-outlook-2011/5e858173-e1f4-4adc-99d7-253cc467169d?page=2 for details.
The easiest way, however, is to use Mail Exporter Pro https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mail-exporter-pro/id675131616?mt=12 which will convert the email for you from one format to the other, and comes with an excellent manual.
A third possibility is to connect Apple Mail to an email account via IMAP (this doesn’t have to be your usual account, you can just create a Gmail account for the purpose) . Copy all the messages into it and they will be uploaded. Then connect Outlook 2011 to the same account, via IMAP again, and let the messages download, then copy them to wherever you want to keep them and disconnect from that account. This is slow but preserves the attributes of your email (e.g. read/unead) better than any other method.

  • Convert Entourage .rge to .pst to import into MS Outlook 365 for Mac

How can I convert Entourage .rge to .pst to import into Microsoft Outlook 365 for Mac? I have an exported Entourage .rge file and can no longer access the program (on an old computer where the hard drive crashed), so I can't export as MBOX or anything like that. The only options for importing to Mac Outlook 365 are .pst, .olm or Outlook 2011. I've found a lot of places that have rge to pst converters, but they are all under the assumption that it's for going from Mac to Windows, so all the converters I've found are for Windows (download as .exe files). I'm on a new MacBook Pro with Yosemite 10.10.

    Yes and no.

Can you import the PST file and find the sent items in another Outlook for Windows? If the issue only occurs in Outlook for MAC, I'd suggest you pose the question in the forums below:

  • Cannot Import Email and Folders from Outlook for Mac 2011

After downloading Lion, I could not import emails and folder structure from Outlook for Mac 2011.

You're in luck, Imap and Exchange accounts store their data on the server.
Leave Outlook alone, just add the accounts to Mail and let them synchronize, no import required. You can leave them in Outlook or remove them as you please once everything in Mail is done.

  • Mail for Mac on new hard drive won't import Mail from old hd

I recently installed an additional hard drive (running Tiger), but I kept my old one (running Panther), too, to use as a backup.
After resolving a few snags, the data and apps transferred over OK, but two days ago I (very foolishly) tried to make a change in the name I use as Administrator (or at least that's what I meant to do), and all the apps on my new hard drive forgot their passwords, preferences, etc.
    What a pain!
I'll eventually get all the preferences, etc., set; but Mail on the new hd also lost everything--addresses, trash, sent messages; and that's got me baffled.
My old hd still has Mail on it (including addresses, etc.), but I haven't been able to import data from it to Mail on the new hd.
In the new Mail, under the File menu, when I choose "Import Mailboxes" and select the button for Mail for Mac OS X, then navigate to Mail on my old hd, it's faint and can't be selected.
Suggestions of any kind would really be appreciated. (And from now on, I'll just live with my name being misspelled as Administrator!)
    Thanks a lot,

    Richard,
    Welcome to the Discussions.
When trying to import a pre-Tiger mailbox created with Mail, use type "Other", instead of type OSX.
However, if you can replace any copy of the Mail folder on your Tiger drive, and any com.apple.mail.plist in the Preferences folder of your Tiger drive with copies from your Panther drive, Mail will open to say it is ready to import Mailboxes, and will then convert all the mailboxes at once.
However when finished, you will need to check for leftover files, that can become problematic, and to check to see if full conversion took place. See:

  • Is it possible to import and display/plot (Google Earth) KML files as overlays in Mac OS 10.9 Maps application?

Is it possible to import and display/plot (Google Earth) KVM files as overlays in Mac OS 10.9 Maps application?
Here is the particular application: (note I haven't gotten the code to compile yet -- seems to be several differently named environment variables in Mac unix than in Linux that are making the compile blow up -- but that's another issue) there is a freeware application that can do radio path loss prediction and plot path loss contours on a map. It has an option to output the data as KML files which can be imported into Google Earth, in order to display the path loss contours on Google Earth maps. I guess you could liken it to displaying overlays of GIS-like data in Google Earth. I would like to know if there is a mechanism to facilitate importing KML data files to overlay (preferably in a translucent fasion so that you could see the underlying map) onto Mac OS 10.9 Maps?

They're also known to patent things they never release. Regards.
    As I stated, "possibly."
While the commerce side of it has little to do with the KML files, per se, the API for the layer data should allow for any type of overlay.
Also, the patent was filed Dec 19, 2013. There was a related patent filed in 2012. Not sure what it is about.

  • Convert mails from apple mail to outlook for mac 2011

    Hello,
need to convert mails from apple mail to outlook for mac 2011. have gone through Imap procedure and am tired of transferring mails manually coz there are thousands of'em. can anyone suggest any simple solution to this problem?
    thanks.

Create a IMAP account (GMAIL icloud etc.)
add account to Apple mail and Outlook 2011
Drag emails into a folder on the imap server and then go back to Outlook 2011 and drag the emails from the imap into your email. and your done all your emails
    are there.
There are third party tools available now-a-days for this kind of problems and they are pretty useful. You have just to select the files from the apple mail
that you want to convert and your mails are transferred within no time.
