Is it possible to save a completed form?

We would like to be able to save a completed registration/application form in PDF format as well as receive the spreadsheet data for our online database.   It is imperative that hard copies be utilized for portfolios.
Thank you,
Melanie

Yes, with a paid account you can export any response to PDF.

  • How do I save a completed form?

My job requires that I complete forms, applications, data sheets, etc. and return the completed form to the vendor.  Since an upgrade to Adobe Acrobat X Pro, I can't figure out how to SAVE THE COMPLETED FORM.  Once I fill everything in, I need to know how to save the information so it can't be changed.  How do I do this?  Thank you for any answers!

To save the form and prevent changes to the form fields you can either flatten the fields, apply standard password security, or digitally sign the document (certification or approval signature). Some of these may not be possible depending on how the forms are currently set up. It's hard to say which would be best without knowing more about the forms and how they will be used throughout the intended workflow.

  • How to save a completed form that was created as a dynamic form, with expandable files?

I have created a dynamic PDF form with expandable fields etc. As this is to be accessible for customers to completed, how can they save a completed copy on their own PC?
I tried it myself and I receive an error msg stating that I can only save a Blank Copy of this Form:  Data typed into this form will not be saved. Adobe Reader can only save a blank copy of this form.
How can I create a dynamic form (with expandable fields/flowable layout etc) that allows the applicant to not only complete the form but also, to save a completed copy?

Thanks! That worked , however I now have an additional issue.
While the form works in Internet Explorer (I'm using IE11), in that it's viewable, it opens and allows me to save etc) it doesn't work in Google Chrome and I'm getting the below error message:
Any ideas on why it doesn't display in Chrome and does in IE (I'm using the same PC and I'm using Adobe Reader XI)!
there are other PDF forms on site that are not dynamic but are fillable, and these are opening!
    Thanks

  • Save partially complete form to be completed online later

    Hi All
I am still new and have not touch this Reader extensions. I am trying to find a solution for a customer who wants to deploy forms to a server and allow their client to fill in and save back to the server. The challenge is that the form will be partially completed and their customer support will need to access the partially completed form to finish the rest of the data entry.
Can I assume the Reader extensions allows me to get the contents when the form is save and prefill the contennts when the form is downloaded subsequently?
    Thanks in advance.

I don't think Reader Extensions is involved with either of the
processes you describe. It allows Reader to do more with a file,
    that's all.
"Saving back to the server" sounds like something for which the
clients might need Acrobat, and for which WebDAV must be installed on
    the web server.

  • Save a completed form?

    I have 2 questions:
a.) how do you design the form to be able to save a copy of it completed for later use?
b.) Is there a way to have something auto-populate when used in multiple locations? (i. e. a person's name)
    Thank you!

So you can have a button on the form to initiate the save but the user will have to complete the save or choose the File SaveAS in Reader or Acrobat. The complete task cannot be automated. You can put a button on the form and put this code on the click event:
    app.execmenuItem("saveAs");
The user will have to complete the dialog to finish the save.
For the binding click on the field that you want to repeat, then set the Binding, then click the next field, then set the binding (ensuring that they have the same name).

  • I filled in a PDF form. When finished, I could not find how to save the completed form. So I took a chance and used the phone's back button. A message popped up saying the form was saved and to go to the cloud to view it. What cloud?

I tried all I could think of but found nothing. In addition, I checked the phone's memory and found the file with a created date/time only about 15 minutes old. When I opened it, I was at first relieved. The portion showing on the screen was filled in. Then I looked at the other 3 and ¾ pages. All fill spaces are empty! What's up with that? And where do I find the finished form in that illusive cloud?

Form document will automatically be saved after closing the file. As far as cloud message is concerned, it seems your Mobile link setting has been turned on. When you pressed device back button after filling the form, it was saved to your Acrobat.com account. You can access this document by going to Acrobat.com tab present in left pane. Its a cloud storage area where you can upload/save any document.

  • Save completed form as PDF

Is it possible to save a completed form as a PDF? Our school is considering using FormsCentral to allow faculty to complete online student Surveys (essentially evaluations of a student's progress). We need to attach the completed survey to the student record in our Student Management System (as a PDF or similar file).
    Thansk for your input... Ken

Yes, but it's in a "detail view" format, not the actual form layout. Check out this FAQ on how to do it: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1383

  • A way for end users to email completed forms?

I would like my end users to be able to complete the form and then send the whole, completed pdf form (not just the data) to another person. I believe my users will probably be using the latest version of Adobe Reader. Now, I realize that saving information typed into a pdf form is technically not supposed to happen, and I imagine one would have to save the completed form in order to email it, but I believe a few months back that I followed a thread on this forum that discussed just how to circumvent this issue and allow an end user to email a completed form in pdf format. Naturally, I cannot find the thread now that I need it.
Anyone out there know if and how I can make this whole emailing business happen?
    Thanks!

First don't use the default e-mail submit button from object library, that will send just the xml data. Instead you can use the default button and set its control type to Submit. After this put in the Submit to URL field some thing like this: mailto:[email protected]
When you finish the form you need also extend the form by doing what our coleague said above.
Now when you click the submit button it will send the entire form through e-mail.
    I hope this helps.

  • Creating Secured Forms and Saving Completed Forms

    Hi,
I have been tasked by my manager to create a checklist form which me and my colleagues must complete and save when carrying out servicing of various medical equipment. For this, I have been using Adobe Acrobat Professional 6, using the forms feature. I created the form with various form fields and secured the pdf file with a password, only allowing the form fields to be filled in. However, when the user opens the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader, they can fill in the form but cannot save it as another file, it only allows them to print it. Ideally, what I would like for the user to do is to open up the template form, allowing them to fill in the form fields without being able to edit the document and then save the completed form with the job number as the file name. Is there any way to have the document secured but also allow the 'save as' button to be used? I would be extremely grateful if you could help :-)
    Thanks,
    Michael

You can upgrade from AA6. Keep in mind it is a good idea to keep your AA6 CD around even after the install of AA9. If you have problems in the future and have to reinstall, you will need the AA6 CD or at least the information from it. You can check the Adobe store for information about the update.
It sounds like your application would be within the bounds of the EULA as I read it. If you have fewer than 500 folks who will be using the form, then by the EULA you are allowed to activate Reader Rights. As I read the EULA, they can do multiple submissions of the form and such, just as long as the number of users stays below 500. You may want to read the EULA before the upgrade to be sure you will be in compliance (the EULA can usually be found on the Adobe site).
Starting with AA8, Reader Rights was an added feature that could be used to allow users of the Reader to save the form with the data.

  • Error message: You cannot save a completed copy of this form to your computer.

    Hello,
I created a PDF form in Acrobat Pro X and i am trying to distribute it by placing it on our shared drive so employees can take it from there and save it to their own computer.
I tested the form with some employees that have Reader. Some can open it, save it, fill it in and submit it and others get this message when opening it:
You cannot save a completed copy of this form to your computer. If you would like a copy for your records please fill it in and print it.
I read some discussions that said to convert it to a binder, that didnt work either. i tried going to the advanced tab and extending the features to reader...nothing works.
    Please help.
    Thank you!

Thank you for your help George. I placed a ticket with our IT department to have them check the system time on her machine. I'll let you know if it worked.

  • Is it possible to save a copy of a PDF form created in Livecycle Designer ES3?

    Hey,
I've created a form using the trial version of Livecycle ES3 however when I view the form I get this message:
"you cannot save data typed into this form. Please print your completed form if you would like to keep a copy for your records."
Is there a way around this/ is this just with the trial version? If I download the full version will the forms then be saveable?
I don't want to send out the form to people unless they are able to save a copy as I think that this could cause issues.
    Answers much appreciated!

If you use the File > Distribute Form this does allow recipients to save data entered into the form.  However, beware of the following points:
    1.  File > Distribute Form will take you through a process to gather information about your preferences for distribution including destination email addresses.  Once you have gone through this process, subsequently there is no option to change or reset any of the original inputs.  For example, if you wish to change the destination email address, you need to open the PDF in Acrobat Pro and go to Edit > Preferences and select the identity category.  The email address can be changed there.
2.The File > Distribute Form, seems to make other changes to the PDF too, because it uses the email address entered when Distribute Form is first used, to submit the PDF by email.  If you have an email submit button in your form, like I did, this does not work any longer in Adobe Reader.  Clicking it now simply prompts to save a local copy of the PDF. The submit does work in Acrobat Pro, but this is useless for a distributed form.

  • Is it possible to save the content of a form before click on the submit?

    Hi,
I'd like to know if it's possible to save the content of a text field in a form in a String variable run-time before click on the submit botton?
If this is not clear what i want to say, please tell me, and i'll try to say it better.
    Thanks a lot.

I've got a form with a text field and everytime i add
a letter in this text field i want to use this string
as parameter to execute a query. So,in the end, the
number of query that I'll execute is equal to the
length of the string i've insert to the text form.If you mean executing a database query, JavaScript would not be able to do that. JSTL sql tags might help.

  • Is it possible to save a copy of Form

Whenever I open my custom bid form in Adobe Reader it gives me a warning message that says I will not be able to save data entered into the form and if I would like a copy of the Form I need to print it.
Is it possible to save a copy of the form (and data entered into it) to my computer for record keeping purposes.  I would like to be able to open the Form and enter data and then save a copy of this form for Customer A and then open the form again and enter data for Customer B and save that form...etc...

You have to "rights enable" the PDF. You do that in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, following menu option "Advanced > Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader"

  • Cannot save a completed copy of adobe forms

    Hi experts,
i was developing a simple Adobe form with a drop down list. When saving that form on local system ad then opening it , I tried changing the valve in drop down list it gives me a pop-up as
"You cannot save the completed copy of this form on your computer."
is there any setting to be donw to the form.
    thanks in advance,
    Govind.

I guess you have already found the problem: you cannot save the file if your reader rights are down == your form has not been generated as interactive and no licence has been attached. Otto
