Hi All,
Please let me know my client needs this below requirement,
Is it possible to send a copy of invoice as PDF files to sales agents by e-mail triggered by the invoicing or is it only possible manually through ZPDF?
Best Regards
Aditya

Hi,
Yes,It is possible to send an email as PDF file to desired people.
For this we have to use the medium as "5(External send)".
Also maintain the further data as "4".
Ask your ABAPer to write a code to send the e-mail to sales agents.
We have a similar requirement in our project also to send a PDF.We have developed a "Z" program and developed a "Z" smartform too.
Regards,
Krishna.

    Hi,
    You need to setup an output for this, with partner fundtion 'External Send' and  Comunication strategy.
    There is SAP note 454893 available, please refer the same.

    I would like to know how to disable the Save and Save a Copy functions. I have a client that does not want the ability to save for there customers. I also need to make sure that it can not be changed by there customer.
    Any suggestions would be greatly helpful.

    Once the PDF is viewed on a machine it is already saved there. That is why it is not possible. The only option is to not allow folks to have the PDF at all. You can disable the ability to copy information from the PDF or use SAVE as to put it in a different form without the security. Those are the security features that are available, but with the caveat that many 3rd party products ignore the PDF security and thus your efforts are not warrented if you want true security. The only way to get full security is through a fancy online (and costly) solution.

  • Disable Options (Save a copy and print) in PDF file

    Hello Friends,
    We have a java based web product in which we have enter metadata of a PDF file and upload that file on server with metadata. Now I want to disable save a copy, print, copy and save as text options. Is there any API avaliable please help me i am in deep trouble.
    regards,
    Shambhu Mitra

    Hi,
    This is not possible AFAIK. These features are specific to the browser and you don't have any control over them. If you want to stop people
    from being able to copy/print your data then you might want to consider the following
    * don't make it available in the first place
    * make it available in another form
    * make only some of it available (i.e. what the user needs)

    Does anybody know what cause the problem and how to fix it? The current walkaround is to convert the pdf into image, then load the image into acrobat and perform OCR. But this is tedious and some information may be lost. I'm wondering if there is a better solution.

  • Can not copy spaces from some pdf file

    https://sites.google.com/site/sharedacrobat/data/cannot_copy_text.pdf
    I'm trying to copy some text from the above pdf file (with mouse and ctrl-C). But many spaces are missing (e.g., the following text). Is it a problem with acrobat. Or it is a problem with the pdf file. I use pdftotext to conver the pdf file to a text file. The text file looks fine. Therefore, I suspect it is a bug in Acrobat. But I'm not completely. Could you please take a look and let me know what the problem is and how to fix it? Thanks!

    It appears that the PDF creation process was deliberately intended to make repurpose of content difficult.

    --| The small page size associated with dense packing of content.
    Perhaps if you print to an image (from Acrobat) and OCR the resultant PDF you may be able to do something.
    However, the small font size may be problematic.

  • Sending the user to view a PDF file

    Help!
    I have a jsp, java application. In one page depending on which county the user clicks, I am sending the user to a pdf file located in the web (by the way, I didn't create this pdf file and I am sending the user to this location). If I use response.sendRedirect method, it comes up with an acrobat error message - 'the file is damaged and could not be repaired'.
    If i click ok and use refresh then i could see this pdf file. Any ideas?
    I am posting sample code here:
    <%@ page language = "java" import="java.sql.*, java.io.*, javax.servlet.*, javax.servlet.http.*" %>
    <%
    String area = request.getParameter("areaname");
         String empUrlFirst = "http://wi.dws.state.ut.us/";
    String empUrlSt = "statewide/majoremp.pdf";
    String empUrl = empUrlFirst + empUrlSt;
    response.setContentType("application/pdf");
    response.sendRedirect ("http://wi.dws.state.ut.us/statewide/majoremp.pdf");
    %>

    Hi
    So it works in your system. What server you are using? I am running this application with jrun server (developer version). I have acrobat reader 5.0. When I run this code, it comes up with an error message box - The file is damaged and could not be repaired and then I click ok and click the refresh button in the browser and then it opens the pdf document. Any ideas?

  • Is It Possible To Select And Copy Text From A PDF Document ?

    Occasionally I would like to copy and paste text from .pdf documents.
    I have not found any way of doing it - is it impossible ?
    If it can be done - how ?
    Ian.

    Well, first off, if the problem pdf was made from a web page, then the text on that web page probably wasn't built as html text. But that's not your problem. As for the pdf itself, you have a couple options, although neither of them are as good as being able to copy/paste the real text.
    1) Use a screengrab (Cmd-Shft-4) of the text you want. This will create a .png file on your desktop of the area you selected. You may be able to insert this into Appleworks, although by nature it will still be a lo-res image, which won't print that great. May still be better than what you got originally. If you can't insert the .png, you can open it in Preview and save it in another format.
    2) If available, you could open the problem pdf in Illustrator or Photoshop, see if that works better. Some pdfs, depending on where they originate, can be text-editable when opened in Illustrator (although the fonts used must be installed on your Mac to show up correctly).
    Finally, if you like, you could email me the pdf or URL and I could take a look at it to see what I can do to help.

  • Copying tables from the pdf file & loosing all table format when pasted into a word document

    I have tables in an Adobe Reader 9.2 file that need to be placed in a word document.
    When I copy the table and paste it into the word document I loose all table formating and am left w/just text--and, not in the right places, I might add.
    Help please!!
    Thanks! Edie

    The only thing that comes close is to use the Snapshot tool (from the Tools Menu) and copy the entire table and paste it, but it treats it as a graphic (picture) and you can no longer edit cells.

  • Copy Highlighted Text in Pdf file

    Hi everyone,
    Recently I downloaded the Adobe Reader X (version 10.0). This version allows me to highlight text (in yellow colour). However, If I want to copy a highlighted block of text (for instance to paste into a Word document), I am not able to do this. When I select the highlighted text and click on the right mouse click, it doesn't give me the opportunity to copy this text. Therefore, I was wondering whether I can copy the highlighted text in another way?
    Thanks in advance for a reply.
    Kind regards,
    Sleighon

    It seems you don't understand where the problem is.
    Indeed, I do not understand what the problem is.  When I tested it yesterday (using Reader 11.0.1) I actually took some screenshot, but I didn't think it necessary to post them.  I'll do it now.
    Opening a random PDF from My Documents
    then highlight some text
    apply the Select Tool (using right-click)
    select the same highlighted text
    copy (Ctrl+C) then paste it into an empty Word document
    Ok, the highlighting did not get copied over - is this the problem?
