Is it possible to use External Defiantion in Interface Mapping?

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to use External defination in Interface mapping? I used this ED in Message Mapping but I am unable to use the same ED for Interface Mapping?
In order to create Interface Mapping I need to create Message Interface and use it in Interface Mappiong?
Thanks
Rajeev

Hi Rajeev,
External definitions is for importing avaliable external DTD,XSD or WSDLs instead of creating them in XI environment maually by creating elements under datatypes, assigning them too Message types and Message Interfaces etc.Where as you fo for Imported Archives to import externally done Mapping programs like JAVA,ABAP and  XSLT mappings but not define Mesage interfaces.
So you can create message interface import appropriate External definition into it.Later use it during interface mapping.Hope you understand it.
Thanks,
Ram.

  • Possible? Using External Definitions for data type/message type definitions

    Hi all,
i want to use external definitons in my own data type definitions. Is that possible? And if yes, how?
I imported many definitions via a mass import. Now I also want to use these definitions for further interfaces (than the imported ones). The most convenient would be of course to just use them as a custom created type. Can I somehow "convert" an external definition to a data type/message type?
    KR
    Felix

    Hello Felix,
The External defination which you has been imported that cant use in DT and MT but yeah you can use this in Service interface.
you cant modify that External defination if you want to do that then 1st of all modify it and then reimport it as an another external defination.
and creating service interface with this ED you can use it in your message mapping .
i hope this will help to you to clear your doubt.

  • How to use external procedures in OWB Mapping

    Hi,
Does anyone have an exmple of using external procdures in Mapping.
    Thanks
    mandi

    Hi Mandi,
you can use Public and self created external Procedures/Functions in a Mapping.
You can integrate them in Expressions, e.g.
or use them as Post or Premapping in a Mapping.
    It´s simple, just play a bit :-)
Only on a few Things you´ve to watch:
Every external Objects you want to use in a Mapping must be known in the Metadatas.
If you create a Mapping under the User scott,(e.g.), and you want to use
an external Procedures/Functions from the User Tiger,(e.g.), you must make sure
that theres a connection between these two Schematas.
For such things you can create a Connector in the Control Center.

  • Any possiblity to use single Inbound Service Interface with multiple Receiver Agreements

    Hi All,
    Scenario: PROXY to FILE.
Requirement is to receive to two locations.
Is it possible to use single Inbound interface with multiple Receiver Agreements. I tried using two operation in the Inbound Service Interface, and Operation Specific in Determination. But couldnt proceed further. Do I need to use seperate Service Interface for two receiver locations?
    Please suggest some solution.

    Hi Naveen,
There is a possibility but in the case in the same server location with dynamic configuration: Placing file in two different directories using single receiver communication Channel
With different location you would need to develop a new adapter module as Amit Srivastava explains and develops here Send File to Two Different Locations using Adapter Module

    Hi,
The RfcAdapter trys to find a Sender Agreement for this RFC call but the lookup failes. The values used for this lookup are:
Sender Party/Sender Service: The values from Party and Service belonging to the sender channel.
Sender Interface: The name of the RFC function module.
Sender Namespace: The fix RFC namespace urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions
Receiver Party/Receiver Service: These fields are empty. This will match the wildcard

  • Is it possible to use External HD as main boot drive? (Help!)

    Hi all
I am about to buy a Seagate FreeAgent Pro (link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/478636-REG/SeagateST305004FPA1E3_RK_FreeAgent_Pro_500GB_eSATA.html) with 500Gb and FW400/USB2.0/eSATA. I have a Mac Mini, and its internal HD is too small for me (80Gb total for about 70Gb of data).
What I'd like to do is install OS X on the External HD and use it as my main boot drive, and perhaps the Mini's internal HD for data backup. Would that be possible/legal (I only have the install discs that came with it - my first Mac :D)? If it is complicated, could you guys explain me how to do it?
I'd also like to know whether the performance would be better or worse. The Mini's got a 5400 RPM drive, and the external is 7200 RPM and would be connected through FW400 (plus a lot of free space for now).
One last question: if it is indeed possible/legal to use the External HD as my main boot drive, would it be possible to install and boot Windows on the external HD using Boot Camp or Parallels?
    Cheers
    Daniel
Mac Mini 1.83 GHz Core Duo 1 GB Ram 80 GB HDD Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Performance will be worse because FW400 is considerably slower than the internal bus. For startup I would continue using the internal drive. You can use the external drive for data storage as well as off-loading any music, picture, and movie files to free up space on the internal drive. You can also partition a chunk of the external drive (80 GBs) to use as a backup partition for the internal hard drive. You can clone your internal drive to the external (partition) which will give you a bootable backup. Here's how:
How to Clone Using Restore Option of Disk Utility
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (journaled, if available) and click on the Erase button. This step can be skipped if the destination has already been freshly erased.
    4. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    5. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the startup or source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
    8. Select the destination drive on the Desktop and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. At the bottom in the Ownership and Permissions section be sure the box labeled "Ignore Permissions on this Volume" is unchecked. Verify the settings for Ownership and Permissions as follows: Owner=system with read/write; Group=admin with read/write; Other with read-only. If they are not correct then reset them.

  • Possible to use external HD with 2 machines?

Aloha all, I have been using an external HD with my MacBook to store librarys for iPhoto, & Aperture. It has worked great, but today I hit a snag. I cannot get the drive to show up when I plug it into my G5. I would like to be able to use it with both.

Do you have a LAN that you can connect the two Macs to? If so then log into the MacBook from the G5 and select the external HD. That will let you access any of the libraries on the external HD. Just be sure to set the ownership of the external HD to be ignored as seen here.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Mountain Lion bug:  Switching between virtual desktops not possible when using external screen only.

I think I have found a bug.  I upgraded to Mountain Lion last week, 2 days after ML became available.  My laptop is a Macbook Pro from November 2011.  I ran Lion before and I did an upgrade on my laptop (not reinstall, but upgrade).
I have an external HP screen (24 inch) connected using DVI (standard connection). I also have an external Apple keyboard (bluetooth) and the external trackpad (bluetooth). I concider myself as a power user with long experience.  I started using multiple desktops in Snow Leopard, and really liked the "4 finger swipe up" that came in Lion.  By swiping 4 fingers up on the trackpad, I can see all "virtual desktops" on the top of the screen and select or more applications to the different screens.
This function does still work, but when I put the Macbook pro in "clamshell mode" (meaning the lid is locked and I am ONLY using the external screen), then this does not work.  When I do the gesture (4 finger swipe up), the virtual desktops on top of the screen are not shown.
But if I open the Mac and then having 2 active screens, both the internal LCD on the Macbook Pro and the external HP screen, it works again.  It does not matter which screen the "Finder many" is active on.
Picture below show how it is supposed to work.  And it still works if no external screen is connected or if the external screen connected but the lid on the Mac is still open (not clamshell mode).
This is how it looks on the external screen when I do the "4 finger swipe up" and the Macbook Pro is in clamshell mode (lid down).  Please also note how the background image is not minimized in the same way as before.
Have any other experienced the same problem ?  Where do I report this to Apple ?  Any e-mail or WEB pages where I can report bugs ?

As an update, I tried switching the main display to the MBP. Nothing changed.
However, I changed the rotation to 90 degrees and everything is back to Normal! Aside from the fact that I'm looking a 24" screen in the vertical position.

  • Possible to use external display with MBP on battery & in clamshell mode

i can use the extetrnal display with my recently purchased MB Pro - lid is closed and external display works.
but the moment i try to do this with the power not connected to the MB Pro - MB Pro goes to sleep. i can wake it up with the external keyboard but it goes back to sleep in a minute or two. and this problem goes away if power is connected.
anybody else face this? has a solution?

where do i find that option - this is what i have on my machine.

  • Is it possible to use external testing tools in SAP XI

    Hi,
I have been working on file to file transfer of large size more than 1 GB. I have many doubts like:
1.Can I use Data compression techniques so that my files can be processsed(my scenario involves a lot of mapping)
2.Can any of the engines be stopped so that processing speed increases.
3.Can any of the third party testing tools  like Load runner be used in to monitor the process.
    Please help me with sloutions.
    Thanks in advance.

One GB is a very huge file. First of all check ur XI hardware configuration.
    1. U may write ur adapter module to zip the message.
    2. It wont affect the performance much if the file size is 1 GB.  Also u cant stop adapter engine (File Adapter) and the Integration Engine in ur scenario
    3. U can do the load testing on XI using load runner

  • [EWS][C#] Seding mail from Gmail using external SMTP server to map emails to corporate Exchange server (using EWS only)

I'm using my Gmail account as a aggregator for many email accounts and for sending using my customers SMTP servers.
Unfortunately one of my clients doesn't support sending emails from public internet by SMTP.
The only way to send emails is using their OWA or EWS and Gmail support SMTP only :-(
My idea is to customize any simple SMTP server in C# (ex.
    http://www.lumisoft.ee/lswww/eng/products/mail_server/mail_index_eng.aspx?type=download) and add feature "SendMailByEWS"
I have working demo for sending simple mail, but this solution is not complex. There are many pitfalls, like mail with CC:,BCC, attachments, parsing raw email, etc.
Any ideas to simply solve this issue?
    Thank you.

I have a similar problem. I have two Exchange email account:
    1. Gmail (default)
    2. Microsoft Exchange (work)
From my iPhone, I frequently email myself articles from other applications that I want to follow-up later. After upgrading to iOS7, when I type my Gmail ID in the 'To' field, the 'From' field automatially changes from my Gmail account to my work account. I didn't catch this the first few times this happened and was wondering what was going on as my emails started being sent from my work account.
Workaround for this case: Type in your To address first and then re-select the account to send From.
This is annoying and I hope Apple restores normal behavior.

  • Using external drives with OS X Server

Is it possible to use external firewire hard drives the same way that I would use an internal. I am asking this because we have 3 of them with 250Gb each. I would use them to increase the storage of a server, which would lower the cost of one and make it much more possible to buy. The drives wouldn't be removed and I would like to be able to apply security settings to control access to them. They can be easily formatted with the approperiate OS X file system.

It wasn't that I thought I couldn't use them I just need to know if I can put a user's home directory on there and have users save to them across the network. Can I in fact do this. A couple of people I have talked to about doing this had mixed thought so I figured I'd throw to you guys.

  • Using Report-to-Report Interface (RRI) in BEx Report Designer?

    Dear experts,
I would like to know if it is possible to use Report-to-Report Interface in BEx Report Designer?
From what I read from this article
[(Creating Formatted reports using BEx Report Designer)|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00ae5173-6112-2d10-d78f-e7779d269f25?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true], the RRI capability of query is not supported in BEx report. So is it true? And are there any workarounds to enable/emulate RRI capability in BEx Report?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Joon

    Hi Joon,
It is possible to make RRI in BEX Report Designer by using Transaction Code - RSBBS .
Here you need to give the Target Query and Source Query names and than you can easily connect two reports or two levels of same report.
For further step wise description please check the below SDN document :
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/607e63d5-b56f-2c10-718f-8e33a08baa89?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
I hope this document helps to sort out the queries.

  • Use thinkvantage access connections to map a network drive

Is it possible to use thinkvantage access connections to map a network drive. I have three different basic sites (home, work1, work2) with network drives that I would like to access depending on the site.
    1) I wonder if it is possible to configure thinkvantage access connections to automatically map the network resources through a connection profile?
    2) I wonder if it is possible to configure thinkvantage access connections to automatically map the network resources through a connection profile that is based on vpn connection?
    thanks in advance
    sincerely, anders

    Hi,
directly it's not possible for Access Connection to reconfigure your network drives.
However, there is one really cool part of Access Connection, that might be realy suitable for your situation. This part is the script/application, that can be executed when a profile gets applied.
So for your situation I can imagine, that you create a .bat file, that contains something like this:
    net use * /DELETE /YES
    net use Z: \\computer name\share name
The first part will delete all maped drives. The second part will establish connection that you want to use. Of course you can multiply the last part, so that you can configure multiple connections.
Please let me know, if this helps.
    Cheers
