Is Live Cam Optia Pro compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.6?

I recently bought a brand new live cam optia pro and it arrived today i plugged it in and tried opening photo booth, all i got was a black screen? And when i open image capture it doesn't detect the webcam? what do i do?

heh... reading too fast I overlooked the spec being touted. I don't think DVDSP 3 will work at all, sorry.
But yes, FCP v5 and DVDSP 4.0.2 were running on this very laptop just ten days ago. I updated to 10.5.6 and it all came to a halt, forcing me to apply the FCS 2 discs that have been sitting neatly in a box on the shelf above me for ages now.
I still have the old configuration in Time Machine - and have been building DVD projects using the older software as recently as last week.
Unless I am missing some other detail, of course

  • Is isight external camera compatible with mac mini?

I just bought an old isight camera from ebay. I used a firewire 800 to 400 cable to connect to my late 2012 mac mini. I test to cam using facetime but the screen said no camera connected. So I connect the isight with my old macbook to test the camera, and the connection is fine.
I wonder if the old isight cam is still compatible with mac mini. If so, that might be the problem of the fire 800 to 400 cable.

Other users, including myself, could not get the barrel iSight camera to work on the 2012 Min with Mavericks. It did work on my late 2009 Mini except the mic did not work. It does work on my late 2013 Mac Pro desktop except again, that the mic does not work.

  • Web Camera compatible with Mac mini

Could someone recommend a web camera that is compatible with the Mac mini. I bought a Dynex DX-DTCAM that said it works with Mac's but it doesn't. Any help is much appreciated.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You might find the (brief) thread at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1144969&tstart=0 of some interest in terms of webcam compatibility as a whole.
Not sure about the Dynex you have - it is certainly claimed to be MacOS X compatible, though not exactly which version(s) of MacOS X it works with. Assuming you've installed the drivers with the cam from the CD it came with, you might look at t http://www.dynexproducts.com/pc-459-10-dynex-desktop-web-camera.aspx to see if the Windows and Mac driver download on that page offers a later driver for Macs. The 'readme' file is dated June 2007 and it claims it's for MacOS 10.3 and later.

  • Hi, i want to buy a mac book pro. I was wondering if the ms office suit that i will buy can be a normal version or a one that has to be compatible with mac?

Hi, i want to buy a mac book pro. I was wondering if the ms office suit that i will buy can be a normal version or a one that has to be compatible with mac?

It must be compatible with Mac OS X. You have to install the Mac OS X Microsoft Office version > http://www.microsoft.com/mac
Also, you can use the PC version, but in this case, you will have to install Windows on a virtual machine or Boot Camp, so it's better to use the OS X version. There are alternatives for Office, like Apple iWork or LibreOffice, if you want to try them before

  • Is my mac pro compatible with mountain lion?

Is my mac pro compatible with mountain lion/ 2 x 2.66 Ghz Dual core processors?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
    William

And FBDIMMs which use to cost $300+ for 8GB can now be had for... 2 x $34.
    I paid $300 2 x 512MB August 2006,, then 2 x 1GB $400 March '07
So as long as you only need 16GB you are safe, it is when you need 4GB, or the rare 8GB FBDIMM and 32GB or more, that yes, time to part ways and get a system that supports cheaper DDR3.
Except, right now, 10.8.2 'broke' support for more than 64GB and there were people depending on and using 96GB.  Or that more than 48GB also 'broke' the Apple Pro RAID card; a card that still does not support 3TB drives. 10.8.2 does though provide support for more current Nvidia cards (10.7.4 also showed support just not for GTX 6xx series). 3rd party graphic support has always been a weakness, until now.
Apple Mac Pro is a workstation. Except when it is not. It is still not clear how they missed these things.
What 32-bit EFI won't get you is 64-bit kernel mode and abilty to fully use more powerful graphic cards or memory addresses for a single process beyond 4GB or graphic card support with more than 2GB (and 2GB use to always fail in OS X in the past).

  • What video cameras are compatible with mac without having to download software

What video cameras are compatible with mac computers without having to download software?

Did you try connecting your camera to the computer USB port via the supplied USB interface cable instead of plugging in the SD card directly?
No driver is needed to connect your computer to your camera.
    http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/camcorders/consumer_camcorders/consu mer_camcorders/vixia_hf_r52#DriversAndSoftware
Regardless of whether or not you 'like' downloading and installing software on your computer, Canon DOES HAVE software available for your specific camera and it IS compatible with recent versions of the Mac OS X operating system. Maybe try that instead of whining here about it not being compatible.

  • Is Final Cut Pro 3 compatible with MAC OS 10.4?

Is Final Cut Pro 3 compatible with MAC OS 10.4?
    867x2 Mirror Door G4   Mac OS X (10.4)

    re:FCP3
Some people purchase FCP3 and then the upgrade to FCP5. It is less expensive than purchasing FCP5 as a new install. You may be able to find a copy of FCP4.5HD out there as well for a low price.
That being said, while some use FCP3 (or FCP4.5) with 10.4, 10.4.x and QT7.x. will be happiest with FCP5.
    re: burning.
Once the file is exported as a quicktime DV file, iMovie does not care about the origin. It should work just fine. DVDSP gives you much more control and greater flexability in setting up menus, looks, operation etc, but is not required.
    Good luck.

As per the above thread, it would generally happen if the file is corrupt or in case of an unsuccessful download. I would appreciate if you could attempt another download and see if it helps. Meanwhile, I shall try researching at my end for a conclusive answer.

  • Seagate plus compatible with mac book pro

Is seagate plus compatible with mac book pro and how do I know its backing up, where can I see the backed up files?

    Hello and welcome.
Click on the desktop - next to the Apple click  on "Finder - in the drop down menu click on "Preferences" - under "Show these items on the desktop" click on Hard disks and External disks. All disks inside the computer and connected outside will appear on your desktop. The external hard drive will be orange in color.
When you first connected that Seagate it should of asked you if you wanted to use that drive for Time Machine to backup to.
    If not go here:

  • USB-to-VGA adapter compatible with Mac?

    Hi,
I'm trying to hook up an additional external monitor to my MacBook Pro using a USB-to-VGA adapter. I don't need any kind of graphics acceleration.
Here is the type of adapter I'm looking at:
    http://www.iogear.com/main.php?loc=product&Item=GUC2015V
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812203013
Apparently some have gotten the 2nd one to work on Linux with the sisusb driver. Does anybody know if this is compatible with Mac OS X?
    Thank you!
    MacBook Pro 15"   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB memory

Your Mac came with a DVI to VGA adapter. Why do you need a USB one, when the DVI one is faster and more reliable?
    Note the specs:

If yours was missing the adapter which is shown "In the box", call AppleCare to ask a replacement be sent.

  • A good High Definition camcorder that is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5?

ok, i need to find a good HD camcorder for my macbook pro which uses imovie 08, but i am using imovie HD 6. my budget is around $250 and i am willing to purchase on ebay. i recently bought an HD camera off ebay for $130, it was good but i found out later it wasn't compatible with MAC! so, i need a little bit of help from anyone who knows anything about ebay, hd cameras, and mac support.
and one more question, is the Aiptek hd camera supporting Mac? - because is records in HD .MOV format which is mac format. (quicktime).

Those little Aiptek things, though supposedly shooting in hi-def, use high compression which iMovie HD 6 just can't deal with. If you buy one of those, you'll have to run the video through other programs first in order to make it compatible with iMovie 6.
They usually record in something like 720p ('progressive') mode, which iMovie generally doesn't like: it expects to receive normal i ('interlaced') video ..the kind which standard-def broadcast television generally uses.
A hi-def picture needs to be nice and stable for you to get the best out of it - otherwise it's just as much a wobbly blur as standard-def. So for good results you want a camera which has an image stabiliser built in. I don't think the cheap'n'cheerful Aipteks do.
Even though the Product Description may say "..A-HD is your 720p HD Camcorder, Digital Camera, and Personal Media Player/Recorder! Captures true to life, vibrant colors and astonishing High Definition images like you've never seen, right in the palm of your hand.." ..that's just advertising blurb or twaddle, of course. Who says that these are images "..like you've never seen.."? ..If you have already seen images from a JVC, Sony, Canon or other decent brand hi-def camcorder, then those from the Aiptek camcorders are pretty disappointing. But no advertiser is going to spend money to say "..images far more disappointing that those of other camcorders.." ..are they?
So - as Karsten suggests - you should be looking for an HDV hi-def camcorder on eBay.
P.S: You wrote "..records in HD .MOV format which is mac format. (quicktime).." ..but several QuickTime formats - although they do play in QuickTime Player - won't work properly within iMovie (e.g; sound or picture may be missing). Such formats need to be converted into another .mov, or .DV format before trying to use them in iMovie.
