According to the Lion webpage, you would need to add more RAM to your computer and check to make sure you have about 7GB of free hard drive space.
The page can be found here if you need more info:

Thunderbolt Bus:That panic was not caused by third-party software. If the problem is recurrent, the possibilities are:
A stale or corrupt kernel cache
A damaged OS X installation
A fault in a peripheral device, if any
Corrupt non-volatile memory (NVRAM)
An internal hardware fault (including incompatible memory)
An obscure bug in OS X
You may already have ruled out some of these.
Rule out #1 by booting in safe mode and then rebooting as usual. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
You can rule out #2 and #3 by reinstalling the OS and testing with non-essential peripherals disconnected and aftermarket expansion cards removed, if applicable. Sometimes a clean reinstallation may solve a problem that isn't solved by reinstalling in place.
Corrupt NVRAM, which rarely causes panics, can be ruled out by resetting it.
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications of the machine.
Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test, though generally unreliable, will sometimes detect a fault. A negative test can't be depended on. Run the extended version of the test, if applicable.
In the category of obscure bugs, reports suggest that FileVault may trigger kernel traps under some unknown conditions. Most, though not all, of these reports seem to involve booting from an aftermarket SSD. If those conditions apply to you, try deactivating FileVault.
Connecting more than one display is another reported trigger for OS X bugs.
If your system is not fully up to date, running Software Update might get you a bug fix.
In rare cases, a malformed network packet from a defective router or other network device can cause panics. Such packets could also be sent deliberately by a skillful attacker. This possibility is something to consider if you run a public server that might be the target of such an attack.
Otherwise, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. You may have to leave it there for several days. There isn't much point in doing this unless you can reproduce the panic, or if you can't, it happens often enough that it's likely to be repeated at the store. Otherwise you may be told that nothing is wrong.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you. -
Question: I bought a 5 yr old Mac G5 OSx 10.4.11, 2 GHz intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB 667 MHz DDR1 SDRAM memory. It works fine but I can't get Thunderbird, Flash Player or Adobe reader to install -- it shows up on desktop as download but not App folder. Why?
The downloads are probably .dmg files (disk images). You would open the disk image (double-click it) to find the application or an installer. If it's the application itself, you then drag the application to your Applications folder to "install" it. If it's an installer, double-click the installer to run the installer that installs the application.
NOTE: If you iMac is Intel, it's not a PPC G5. -
Have MacBook Pro (ancient) has
2.16 Ghz Intel Core Duo with
1 GB 667 MHz RAM
using OS 10.4.11.
Can I upgrade OS? If so, how far?
And can I add more memory?
I realize this is an old laptop but I need to wait to upgrade to new.if it is the core duo, mac OS X 10.6.8., max ram 2gb.

I have an early 2008 macbook pro that is running slow after upgrading to lion. Is there anything I can do? this is what I have,Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive may be failing.
Launch the usual set of applications you use when you notice the problem.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. What approximate values are shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec?
Step 2
You must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way as above. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Post the 50 or so most recent messages in the log — the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out before posting. -
I have an iMac S/N QP******VUW currently running OSX 10.5.8. 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB 667 MHz RAM. To what OSX level can I update this model?
<Edited By Host>Noel Kuck wrote:
I tried adding more ram but the Mac would't even boot with 2x2GB installed. I figured that it was limited so I forgot about it. Wha's the advantage of adding it if it is not recognized?
Chances are you either did not install or correctly or added the incorrect RAM. -
I need to update safari. I have macbook osx 10.6.8.Processor 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. Current version of safari 5.1.10
Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

Is there a way to update a Mac OS X v10.4.11 with processor of 2GHz Intel Core 2Duo and memory of 1GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM into v10.9.4?Thanks
You do realise that you can add Ram, if that is all that is holding you back it's not a problem.
Tell me the exact model and age of your Mac. (The model identifier can be found by holding the option key down and clicking on the Apple Menu, select System Information (top entry) and then read the model identifier from the righthand panel (2nd entry down) -
I have mac book OS X 10.4.11 model No.A1181 (processor 2 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo and memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM). To which newer version can I update and how?
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You can upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard, and then, you should be able to use OS X Lion.
First, buy Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Then, make a backup of your data, insert the Snow Leopard disc and upgrade to Snow Leopard.
The disc will install Mac OS X 10.6.3, so open > Software Update to install 10.6.8, the most recent Snow Leopard version.
See if your Mac is supported > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4949 If you see that it's compatible, call Apple to buy OS X Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 Also, check if your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com -

The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:

You can check here what version of Flash player you actually have installed: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe. -
I am using an iMac7.1 with 1GB DDR2 SDRAM of speed 667 MHz on board memory. I would like to know what is my best option to upgrade to 4GB on board memory so that I can run Lion OS. Is there a speed limit of the DRAM use? Please recommend or suggest as soon as possible.
You can install 2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMMs. The maximum amount of RAM is 6 GBs. Visit DataMem or OWC to get the proper RAM at reasonable prices.

When I went to the Apple Store I got a reply that I needed a more advanced OS, I believe it wanted OS 6.6. I had tried to upgrade my OS in the past and was told the machine cannot handle it...
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.
I have been planning to buy a new Desktop with a 27 inch screen and an iPhone 5 when available. It is beginning to seem that this is the time for the new computer. I will use my iPad 2 as my travelling device. I basically use the computers for email and some writing, nothing fancy.
Barak88Hi Carolyn, thanks for your quick reply. First thing I did before posting my question was to check the system requirements for Creative Suite, both on Apple and Adobe's websites. But I am however confused about the difference between "Multicore Intel processor" vs "Core 2 Duo", and keep hearing stories about CS5 not working properly.
