To create an Apple ID without a credit or debit card, there is a specific series of steps that have to be processed in order to allow the payment to be set as none on creation of the account.

If the specific steps have not been processed, a credit or debit card will be required to complete the setup the account.
However, it can be removed and payment method changed to none as long as there is not an outstanding balance.

What is the problem your having downloading the creative cloud desktop application then using it to download and install Photoshop. You can try the direct download if you want to bypass the creative clod desktop application install. Still it mad be installed if you use the direct installer. Elementary question: need wireless card for old Dell

Hi, all: I need to buy a wireless card for my several-years-old Dell Precision 340 desktop, so that I can network it with my MacBook Pro and printer using AirPort Express. Can buy any old USB network adapter card branded "universal"? Any recommendations? There is no built-in wireless card. Also, I understand that I will have to reconfigure the AirPort somehow to handle both PC and Mac (I spent a long time on the phone with Support getting to work in the first place, just with the Mac notebook).

Just about any 802.11b/g wireless device will work with the AirPort Express Base Station (AX). The AX is capable of up to WPA2 wireless encryption, so if this is important to you, you would want a device that is WPA or WPA2 capable as well. In addition to USB-style, the Precision 340 can also take PCI-cards. For example, Linksys offers both a USB & PCI types.

There shouldn't be any required configuration changes necessary for the AX just to support both Macs and PCs. Most issues that come into play relate to using WEP for wireless encryption. You can eliminate this by using WPA or WPA2 instead.

You don't need to enter credit card details if you follow, exactly, the instructions on the HT2534 page that you posted from when creating an account - if you don't use those instructions then you will need to enter credit card details before you can download any item from the store (you should be able to remove the card's details after entering them).

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. If you don't follow them exactly as given, it won't work. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

The 'none' option will be there if you follow the instructions on that HT2534 when you create an account - I've just tried those instructions again and I've got the 'none' option on a new account. If you don't follow those instructions then you will need to enter credit card details before you can use the account - you should be able to remove your card's details after entering them

Mac Pro 1,1 needs 2nd card for 3rd display

I have dual core (2.66 GHz) Mac Pro 1,1 with 8 GB ram, 120 Gig SSD boot drive, 1-500 internal HD and and external FW 120 Mg
Am sticking with SL 10.8.6 for another year or two, as I have too many Rosetta-dependent apps and too little money.
Am running two 23" Cinema displays with the original Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT card, both @ a 1920 x 1200 res, 32 bit color.
However, I need more 'desktop', as I do a lot of multi-window tasking (6-8-10 windows up and active at a time).
I want to add another used 23" Cinema dislay at 1920 x 1200, 32 bit color for a total of three monitors.
Next year, I may swap out one of my 23" displays for a 27" or a 30"
What is the cheapest graphics card to add for the third display?
I assume that another Apple GeoForce 7300 GT MA567Z/A is my best bet?
Best price I have seen for a Apple GeoForce 7300 GT MA567Z/A is about $130-$140. Is that a good price?
I assume that the plain GeoForce 7300 GT, @ about $30, is not designated for, and will not work in a Mac. Correct?

I can switch both connections and it'll work for the mac part of the deal but the windows end cant switch screens - making the apple display the primary display on windows..
now it sounds like a "windows" issue doesnt it!?heh

I just want to know if I really have to remove the keyboard for installing a 2nd DIMM of RAM. I read the HMM but it doesn´t make sense for me.
Can anybody confirm that it is really absolutely necessary?

I don't have one of these, but the HMM seems pretty clear. In order to remove the 1030 Hard disk drive(HDD)/Memory/Mini PCI Express Card slot compartment cover (the "back") you have to remove some screws that are under the keyboard in addition to those on the bottom.
The HMM also indicates two memory slots.

Do I NEED Credit Card For iTunes Account?

I just got my iPod touch last night and my son is helping me set up my iTunes account and it says I need to have a credit card on file. Is there anyway I can not put a credit card before getting apps?

Hi, i went to sync and back up my iphone 3GS as i ahve done many times before, it encountered an OS problem and put the phone into a restore mode. Now i havnt had this happen before, it has the USB cord with itunes logo on screen, cant get the phone to do anything else. When i plug it in it says i have to restore.. But will i then as i suspect loose my 600 new work photos, data, games progress, work notes, new contacts etc as i suspect i will? please someone tell me no and there is something i can do to avoid this.

IPod is formatted for windows but i need it formatted for mac

i just got my iPod a couple days ago used from best buy and hooked it up from my mac not aware that it was formatted for windows. when i try to restore my iPod it just freezes up my computer. do i really need it formatted for mac in order to get good performance?

Right. If you restored it in Windows the iPod will still be formatted for Windows.
Now see if you can restore it on your mac.
Also, know that Windows-formatted iPods work fine in Mac OS X. The only "problem" is that you cannot update the iPod's software on your mac if another software version is released. You would have to do that through Windows.
If you plan on using your iPod with both Operating Systems, you may want to keep it formatted for Windows.
