Is there a bug with the formatting of formula results?

Looking to see if anyone else is having this issue.
When I create a cell who'se contents are the result of a formula, I normally end up with at least two digits to the right of the decimal point. If I hit the decrease digits button in the toolbar I get MORE digits.
When I hit another format button like currency or percentage and then go back to just numbers, I again get a couple of digits to the right of the decimal point, but then the decrease digits button works as intended.
Its not a huge deal - but I do have to hit 4 buttons instead of two. This happens in almost every cell that contains a forumla result - but not straight data cells.
Anyone else getting this? I'd love a fix if one is in the works, its annoying.

I think what you are seeing is a feature, not a bug. sharknca hit the nail on the head. Some experimentation will demonstrate that Numbers, when in automatic mode, will format to include all the significant decimals, based on the internal resolution of the machine. Also, in Automatic mode, Numbers will not show the + sign to indicate truncation, until you try to do an override, as you found out.
To observe what is going on, enter the formula =PI() in a cell formatted as automatic and look at the Cells Inspector, with that cell selected. You will see that even though you are only seeing as many decimals as your narrow column will display, the Inspector shows 14 digits after the decimal.
Now, edit the formula to =10*PI(). The shifts the decimal point one place right, leaving only 13 meaningful digits to the right of the decimal, and the Automatic Format recognizes this and adapts. =100*PI() reduces the number to 12 digits, etc.
At this point, the cell still only displays what it can, with no complaint. Try to do an override in the number of decimals displayed and you can start decrementing, but you start from wherever the Automatic format has put you based on the available resolution, and if you have a narrow column, you may see a + sign, and if you were headed for, say, two places, you may have a way to go.

Is There A Bug With The Line-In Volume Setting ?

I use an audio mixer and microphone to put voice-overs into programs like Audacity, Sound Studio and the Voice Over Tool in Final Cut Express.
The mixer is connected to the Line In socket on my eMac.
I like to set the Line In Volume to Maximum in the System Preferences.
However, sometimes when I close one of the above programs, the Line In Volume Control reverts to a default midway setting (50%).
This is not a terrible problem but it is irritating having to reset the volume control.
Is it a known problem and is there a cure?

Is there a bug with the font size setting?

I am using the Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. I cannot change the font size using the settings in mobile firefox. It appears to be stuck on the smallest font. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app with no success. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

I've a "bug" with the apps downloading. This one stops at the end and stays like that infinite. The app doesn't appears normally on the homescreen. Someone can fix this?

I had heard that these switches didn't stack unless everything was identical.
I only tried it at all out of pure desperation.
I've applied and tested every version 3 firmware in standalone mode via a console cable and xmodem.
They either never come up properly receiving decompression errors and reboot constantly in a loop.
Occasionally they stall / jam and stay there displaying the same error with no rebooting.
And twice out of 80-100 times I got it to boot to the username and password screen in standalone mode.
But as soon as I made a change it crashed and started the rebooting cycle again.

As of 3/30 when using the App for Facebook, when I log off of Facebook, it keeps me permanently logged into Facebook. If I use Safari to log into Facebook, I have no problem logging off. Is there a problem with the Facebook App??

As of 3/30/13, when logging off of Facebook using the Facebook App, it will not log me out. It is now permanently keeping me logged in. No problem logging off of Facebook when I do not use the App. Is there anyone that can tell me why this is happening and what I need to do to Logout of Facebook. I like using the App for Facebook but I also want to be able to log off, I do not like to stay logged in. Is there something different with the latest Apple software I downloaded a couple of weeks ago, IOS 6.1.3?

it also could be something different, if you try google hangounts. change password and log out it still recieves notifications. its how apples handles the "channel" notification system for apps that recieve notifications or do backroung sync, and im sure at some point that security hole will be a hijack point. i think its called XO auth. and is why it can maintain session even after an apperant logout
if you go to the app and it shows you have logged out but are still recieving notifications then that is evidence of the bug.
also look and find the option for "keep me logged in" i remember in the past that would allow a autologin after logout. also if the app does NOT save the logout status correctly in its "memory" the above refereced system will auto login you with the XO app authentication.
if there really is no keep me logged in option. then what crh24 said, they designed it delibertly to keep you logged in. though i never remember a problem on my ios 6,. are you on ios 7, bunny hop?

Is there a bug in the new photoshop CS6 13.0.1.1 update? (Mac OS 10.7.5)

Since installing the latest update of photoshop CS6 13.0.1.1, (Mac OS 10.7.5, iMac late 2009) I have noticed the following problems: when I double click on the panels bar, the panel does not collapse, I have to right click on the bar to get the panel to collapse. Withe the curves adjustment layer, command clicking on the image does not register the point on the curve and command shift click will not set a point on the curves. this is all happening since the upgrade. Is it me or is there a bug in the update?

Thanks M, you're right, I do have 13.0.1, it's just for some reason ive noticed some strange behavior in photoshop, can't figure out why. I still can't get my panels to collapse when double clicking the bar and the curves adjustment layer doesn't allow me to place a point using the eyedropper tool when clicking on the image, this has just recently started after reinstalling photoshop on my imac using the creative cloud application manager

Bug with the cover flow in OS3.1.2

I am a Chinese user of iTouch and I have found a bug with the cover flow.
In the normal mode, there is only 1 album. But when i switch it to the cover flow, it has more than one, all of which have the complete album after it.
what's still peculiar is that
1.it happens only to the simplified chinese songs.
2.when i switch the language of my itouch to traditional chinese or english, there is 1 cover flow.
can anyone help me?

Cannot open Word File because "there are problems with the contents"

Hi Everyone,
I cannot open Word File because "there are problems with the contents" unspecified error; Location: 2. Please help as I need this doc for work meeting this morning. Nothing special about this doc but links were copied into it??? However I do that all the time. I have never had this happen before. I am on a 2010 machine. I just ran a disk permissions repaired and emptied the trash but still no dice. I had several other word docs up as well when I got up this morning but they are all fine. I do not have Time Capsule turned on (which I need to do but that will be another thread/question).

Ok, I found a way to open this but not sure what happened to begin with and the formatting setup is different now, almost like text editor? Not sure what happened here but hope it doesn't happen again?

If I blindly crop or edit the photo, when I exit edit mode, those changes have been made, but obviously this is unacceptable. Is this a bug with the latest software update?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/ Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help: As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

You could just disable updates. Change these settings in about:config.
* app.update.auto - set to false
* app.update.enabled - set to false
You can still check for updates with the "Check for Updates" button in the About Firefox window, but it will download the update file anyway if there is an update available. You can also check which is the current release from here:
* http://sjc.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/

Some more developments ... the issue appears to be browser-specific. I can't see the download controls at the moment in either IE 8 (I'll get your message) or Safari for Windows 5.0.5 (I'll just get the blank box). But I can see the download controls in Firefox 4 and Chrome (whatever version I have of that).
So it might be worth installing Firefox and seeing if you can get the downloads via that:

I have put a lot of work into a docx document on my Mac, but now can't open it as it gives the error message: 'the Open XML file cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents. Details, Unspecific

When opening the original file the message said: 'this file contains word 2007 for Windows equations' etc. but I managed to track changes fine, and saved, closed and re-opened it numerous times without problem. Some graphs seemed moved, and various formulas
were illegible, but no other weirdness was observed.
I have microsoft 2008 installed on my Mac OS X version 10.6.8.
I've tried to fix it using various solutions suggested here, but am afraid am too IT illiterate to have had any luck, please help I'm new to all this!

This issue is related strictly to oMath tags and occurs when a graphical object or text box is anchored to the same paragraph that contains the equation.

After getting the most recent iTunes update my iPhone is no longer recognized by iTunes. When its connected to my computer it charges but you can't see it on iTunes and none of the content can be accessed. I've never had this problem before, and it doesn't happen on my other computer with an older version of iTunes. I've gone through the troubleshooting suggestions for this on the Apple site but nothing seems to work. Is there a problem with the new update? And will it be getting fixed soon?
