Is there a limit to cover flow images?

I just added some new artwork to iTunes, but the new cover albums don't show up on my iPod. Is there a limit to the number of images you can have at one time?

I just figured it out. Some of the songs I had listed didn't show an album name, so I just added that and voila! The album art magically appeared in my cover flow.

Finder Cover Flow image preview size is small, cannot be adjusted and showing empty blank previews in Mavericks

When using Cover Flow the image preview in the main window (not the thumbnail list at the bottom) images appear but only use about 1/2 of the window space available. It is also showing black/blank preview images as I scroll through the files even though they are cached.
I enlarge the Finder to fill my 27 inch display, slide the size adjustment handle (three lines under the file name preview) all the way down as far as I can. The preview only enlarges to a certain point leaving the upper half of the window unused. I wish to enlarge the cover flow preview images to use this window space even if it affects the overlapping or number of cover flow images avaialble in the window. I am assuming this is becasue of the nature of cover flow showing the two previous and two following images to the left and right of the previewed image. As I scroll left and right occsionally one of the upcoming images will appear as and empty preview as well. It's all goofed up.
Hoping for any suggestions.
I have seen articles about using terminal to adjust "flow height" but never anything substainial that seemend like an informed solution.

I also would like to know if there is an answer to this. My landscape photos always display with a third of the cover flow window as blank empty space (matching your screenshot). This seems like such a waste. Is there any way to change the "padding" between the top of the finder bar and the cover flow preview?

Cover Flow images don't fill Finder window?

Hi everyone,
I like to use Finder in Cover Flow mode to browse through images. However, if I expand Finder to fill the whole screen, and I expand the Cover Flow pane to take up most of the screen, the Cover Flow images don't expand to fill up the Cover Flow pane. I have the High Res screen, so maybe it looks normal on a lower res screen but I think it's odd that Cover Flow doesn't try to expand the images to fil the space. Is this behaviour normal and is there a way to change it?

Solved the problem myself. I retyped the name of each folder (same name) under Pictures and added a space plus #1 after each folder name. Images appeared almost immediately on the content pane after that was done. Later I will then open up on my hard drive, under Cover Flow, two windows....one from the Pictures Folder and the other one from the Window Documents that contain the images transferred from an old hard drive. I will then select the images I want to keep and drag and drop the images from the Window Documents to the sub-folders in Pictures and that should do it. Attempting to do it from within Bridge will cause the images in Pictures to disappear so this other way is safer. Then I will trash my Window Document folder when I'm done. If anyone has experience this problem this might be a way to see if my solution might work for you. (I formerly had a window system and now have a iMac).

Cover Flow image different from

Most of the time, the album artwork in Cover Flow is identical to that on the thumbnail image in the bottom left corner of my screen (sorry - don't know the correct term for it). However, on occasional tracks they're different.
I think I know why, but don't know what to do about it...
I have a huge collection of old singles that I digitised. There being no album title, I created one called Singles and it keeps them all together. The thumbnail image always varies with the track but the Cover Flow image only displays the artwork of the first track by that particular artist (so for example, the Cover Flow artwork for all Elvis Presley singles is the same, and it's the first one in the list).
I'd be grateful for any ideas for how I can correct this?

Well, I'd have to set something up like that to check....but I don't have a bunch of singles hanging around.
The closest I have to it is Tori Amos' +Strange Little Girls+. Each track has a different picture on the actual CD, so I scanned those in.
Cover flow shows the artwork from track 1. The other tracks only show their specific artwork when they are selected, and only becaue I went to the artwork tab and dragged around the images so the one I wanted was first in thebox.

cover flow images look terrible, like out of focus, like being displayed in a different resolution. images are higher than 1024x798. is the a setting somewhere to adjust this

It's not that simple. If there is no preview it does indeed create one, but mine are really poor quality. If there are existing previews it seems to use those. The image used in cover flow is not (necessarily) the one you get when you select Get Info. I've found some where the image is completely different because the image got edited at sometime and one of the previews never got updated. I've no idea how to fix this easily though.
I found some files that had reasonable previews in cover flow, but now they've been replaced by poor quality ones.

Cover Flow Images Blurry--numbers and pages files only

I was using the Cover Flow view in Finder today, and noted that the images associated with Apple software files--pages and numbers were blurry. pdfs, Word or Excel files show up crisp and clear, as do images.
This ocurs on both my iMac and MacBook. Is there a preference setting somewhere that needs to be set to get the file "images" to show up sharp? (I had a similar problem with .jpgs created in Photoshop, and learned there was a setting in PS to not save thumbnail images that solved the sharpness problem there.)

I use Creative Cloud storage. Want them there. At this point, I can't do that at all. It won't open anything not saved there.
In the past people have reported problems with saving Numbers 3 documents to cloud services other than iCloud. For example, see this thread. For a while even Dropbox didn't work well, though Dropbox has since fixed that. I think the problems have something to do with the fact that a Numbers document isn't a "file"; it's actually a collection of files organized in a folder that looks like one file in Finder. I understand that the Numbers 3 format is optimized for fast cross-platform sync; in that respect, it is certainly a big step forward from previous versions. Some cloud services seem to trouble with the format, though, and that may be what you are seeing.

Changing Cover Flow images for a video

Is there a way to change the image of a video in Cover Flow? For instance, I have a mp4 video of my little cousin on his birthday as we all sing Happy Birthday to him. When I am using finder, in the folder with the video, and I switch to Cover Flow mode, the preview is a still image of the video. Instead, I want it to show a jpg photo I have of him blowing out his candles. I've changed the icon to the jpg, but I can't figure out how to change the image in Cover Flow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It would be a fun way to organize a lot of family videos I have.

You need to trim the clip in a video editor and then add it to the slideshow.

No Cover Flow Images

I just disconnected my 160-GIG i-Pod from the computer. None of the images of the CDs where I have gotten music from are showing up on my screen (I am referring to the cover flow). There is also a thin line dropping vertically between the menu and the image part of the screen.
When I reconnected the Pod to my computer, all of the covers were visible, and the Pod indicates the amount of used space dedicated to the images. But when I disconnected again, there were no images on the Pod.
Anyone have an idea what happened and/or how to fix this? Thanks.

You say your iPod indicates how much space is used by images? There is nowhere on the iPod to tell you specifically how much space is used by album artwork - you can see space used by audio, videos, photos, and other (in the Settings > About screen in the iPod).
You also mentioned the split screen (menu side and "images" side). This is not coverflow, this is the main screen. Coverflow is a specific screen that allows you to scroll through all of your albums and select by cover (found by going to Music > Coverflow).
Can you see the artwork for each of your CDs in iTunes - I mean is the artwork shown with each of the albums? Does coverflow work in iTunes? If not, then the artwork was not added correctly. It actually sounds like you added the artwork as separate images and not as part of the tracks or albums. Here is a link that give the basics of attaching artwork to songs.

How can I customize the default cover flow image?

I'd like to change the image cover flow displays for an album with no cover art to something a bit more personalized. Is this possible without major surgery?

Right click (control-click for your Mac) on the song, Get Info > Artwork.
You can Paste in a picture, or add it from a file.
If there is a picture already there, click on it and then hit Delete before you paste the new one.

Is there a limit to number of images in Lightroom4 web gallery?

What is the total number of images that can be in a LR4 Web HTML Gallery? Is there a limit? I am using Mac OS LION.

I thought at sometime there was, I did a two day corporate event with around 1,000 attendees. Client wanted published on their internal web site and over the two days there was well over 1,000 images
With my perceived LR 3.4 limit (and I could be wrong about the limit) and the fact I only had a few hours to deliver I used a freebie software package XnView which worked out just fine in creating a web view. Never got around to testing with LR

Cover flow image all pixelate. How can I fix it?

in coverflow, some of the graphics ok the album cover are pixelatwd and mosaic looking. It's about every third of fourth album cover. In non-cover flow view they are all fine. What could have caused this and how can I fix it? In iTunes the graphics are fine.

Work through the usual 5 R's of troubleshooting.

A restore of the device in iTunes usually rules out any possibility of a software glitch as it reloads the iPod with a fresh version of the iPod's software. One last thing you can try doing is letting the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up and restore in iTunes once more.
Otherwise, it's likely a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display or its connection to the iPod's logic board. You'll need to pay to have your iPod serviced/replaced either by Apple or a third party repair service.

Is there a limit on cover art and if so, can I extend that limit?

I finally got around to adding cover art today and things were going great. Itunes supplied most of the art and the rest I was copy/pasting from Amazon and similar sites. However, just as I was about 10 albums away from being done, I can no longer paste art into itunes. I have cleared out an extra 10 gigs of memory on my computer, but it seems to make no difference. Is there a built in maximum on itunes itself? Can I alter it? Is there something else to try? I've tried pasting in both the viewer and the item information window.

Okay, so it turns out the issue wasn't with itunes, it was with the couple of jpegs I tried to copy/paste. Apparently I coincidently got a couple in a row that had names in the neighborhood of 30+ digits long. 'Pasted them to desktop, renamed them, and was able to then paste them in itunes no problem.
Sorry about the goose chase - I guess when in doubt, it pays to ask a better question. I should have asked "What reason would there be that itunes won't accept a jpeg?"

Expanding Cover Flow window in Finder

Is there a modifier key that can be held down when expanding a Cover Flow enabled Finder window so that the list of files expands instead of having the Cover Flow images get larger?
I've tried the usual Option+Click, Shift+Click, etc. but nothing seems to work.
Assuming this functionality ISN'T built into the OS, is there hope for adding it in a future update?

Ah... that'll be it then, they are 512 x 512. well i guess that bugs been hanging around for quite some time now, anyone got any ideas if anyone's trying to fix it? i guess making 128 x 128 icons wouldn't be the end of the world but it does seem like a step backwards.
one thing that still confuses me... an icon file contains icons of all sizes, why does cover flow not select the right size icon to display?

Can Top Sites & cover flow be disabled?

I do not use Top Sites or the cover flow display of them. Can these features of Safari 4.0.2 be completely disabled in order to conserve RAM and CPU usage?

I appreciate your answer. But all I want to eliminate is Top Sites and cover flow of them. I want to retain cache and history unless I manually delete them.
When I go to Safari reset and ask it to eliminate cover flow and Top Sites, or when I go to the page displaying the cover flow and manually delete each image, neither step actually deletes because when I return to the Top Sites page, there are still cover flow images, and they happen to not be the sites I most often visit.
My only concern is I do not use these features and do not want to waste RAM or CPU usage.

Cover Flow Mix Up and Album Song Mix Up Question

I just got an 80gb ipod and have all my songs on it now. i am just about finished with getting all of the album covers that i didnt have into my itunes now. i didnt get any of the album covers from itunes, i just did a search for all of em in google.
anyways, for some reason i have one song from the red hot chili peppers greatest hits album (soul to squeeze) and if you click on get info and then click on artwork the correct cover is there but in the cover flow and album view its zz tops greatest hits cover and underneath it reads greatest hits and then underneath that its Various Artists. My Queen greatest hits album has the same zz top cover and reads the same as well, lol. i cant figure out how to fix this.
one more thing before i go guys, i have a couple of albums where the songs are not together but the artist and album names are the same, ive retyped the artists name and album to see if i somehow made a mistake the first time but they are still seperate, what the heck else can i do. its annoying have an album where the songs are not together?
once i fix these problems am i going to have to resynch my ipod again, i have 6thousand plus songs, that took forever the first time i did that. im hopin i can just plug the ipod into itunes and it will just fix what is different??

nope, the songs are not mixed up at all. like i said, its just the album art and the artist name underneath the album which reads "various artists". my queen greatest hits and my red hot chili peppers greatest hits say the same thing and both have my zz top greatest hits album cover lol.
now if you click get info on the album the artwork is the correct artwork which blows my mind.
somebody please helps, its so annoying.

one more thing, do i have to resync my whole ipod again just to get the album artwork on there or is there a faster way than having to resync 6thousand plus songs?? ive actually never resync so maybe it will just add stuff thats different instead of just putting everything back on??
