Is there a list of hosting companies Dreamweaver can connect to? Database wise

I need to know if Dreamweaver can connect to certain databases. I don't want to waste my money just to find out, so I came here. I need to know if there is so I can go with that hosting company instead.

Yea that's what I meant what hosting companies can Dreamweaver connect to? I'm using wamp locally but I've tried to connect to go-daddy database and that was a bust so now I'm looking for other hosting providers that allow me to connect to their databases from Dreamweaver.....Or is there any reason to do that at all?
No reason to want to connect to a remote database from DW in my opinion. Like I said I do all the setting up locally then transfer files over to a remote host and connect using the database connection details supplied by the host. If the connection details from the host are correct then all you should need to do is replace your local connection details in the database connection file with the remote ones - everything should work like a dream - obviously sometimes it doesn't but that's because some web-hosts make you jump through hoops to set anything up, for instance BT in the UK are total crap in my opinion stay clear of their convoluted set up if youre in the UK - I'm sure others have had a great experience using BT - go with a small company - large companies couldn't give a shite about their clients.

Is there a list of Unicode characters that can be used in Acrobat bookmarks?

I can add Greek characters to Acrobat bookmarks using hexadecimal strings. For example, to print a lower case gamma symbol I use <FEFF03B3>. FEFF is the required Unicode flag and 03B3 is the Unicode code for gamma. This works fine. However, there are no Unicode entries for greek characters in the PDF 32000-1:2008 PDF Specification manual. Table D.2 - PDFDocEncoding Character Set on page 656 lists Unicode characters and these also work when added to bookmarks but no Greek codes are in this table. Since I can sucessfully use Greek Unicode characters in the range of 0x0391 - 0x03CE and these characters are not listed in the PDF manual I am assuming there are additional Unicode character that will work in bookmarks. Therefore, I am looking for a complete list of Unicode characters that can be used in Acrobat's bookmarks. Does such a list exist?

I'm sorry to hear there is no list available. I'm building the Acrobat bookmarks automatically. The input data contains entity codings (for example, a lower case Greek gamma is coded as γ) and I was hoping to be able to just pass these through with an automatic conversion to a hexadecimal string (for example <FEFF03B3>). If I had a list of valid Unicode characters, that will display in an Acrobat bookmark, I could validate each entity before the conversion and catch the ones that won't display correctly. I know these types of characters are out there because I have already come across them. For example, a superscript 5 (0x2075) displays fine in MSWord but shows as a white box in a bookmark. Now I'll need to proof the output PDFs and look for white boxes in the bookmarks so that I can build my list of unicode characters that do not work in Acrobat bookmarks.

That's because your landlord probably is using WPA2 encryption or 802.11g or 802.11n wireless. The iBook G3 lacks support for WPA2 encryption, which is much stronger than WEP and the original WPA.   It also only has support for 802.11b.     If you want to join a newer router with a secure firewall, get an 802.11g or better wireless ethernet bridge.

P.P.S. 10.7.1 can't run on an iBook.   Are you sure you have an iBook and 10.7.1 is on it? If it doesn't say iBook on your screen frame, or Apple menu -> About This Mac doesn't say Mac OS X 10.7.1, it is not 10.7.1, or an iBook.    MacBooks, which replaced iBooks in 2006, and later came out with Core2Duo and Core i processors, are the only Apple notebooks that can run 10.7.1.

It's not clear what you mean by this. However, I think you might be referring to the security restriction imposed by most hosting companies that prevents connection to MySQL from another server. This is quite normal, and has no effect on the way Dreamweaver connects to the database.
When you upload your files, they connect to the database locally on the host's server. Also, if you are using your remote server as a testing server for your site (not recommended), Dreamweaver uploads a hidden file to the remote server to connect locally with MySQL, thereby getting round the problem of connecting from an external source.

Well, if I were the designer of the error code, I think I could probably give an idea of what kinds of circumstances might cause this error to occur, regardless of the application.
However, if it helps, here is the problem. I have an ATE program that performs thermal cycling for a UUT using VISA calls to a GPIB controller which communication with 3 different instruments. The test itself runs fine for long periods of time, and then I start to see this error occur. However, the program appears to continue to run after I press 'OK' from the pop-up dialog ackowledging that the error has occurred. There appears to be no evidence of a memory leak that could possibly be contributing to the problem, or at least none that I have detected, and the error description itself is very vague. So basically what I am looking for is a better understanding of what MIGHT be causing this type of error. I would not expect a specific cause for my particular application, because as Bob was so kind to point out, I hadn't offered much information in my original post. What I was really looking for was a better understanding of the error itself, from a 30kft point of view.

Cluster Validation Fails on List iSCSI Host Bus Adapters

I have an 8 Node SQL Failover Cluster.
This cluster has been in service for quite some time now, suddenly the Cluster Validation is failing...
When it gets to the "List iSCSI Host Bus Adapters" (which we do no use on any of these nodes) it fails with the error:
"An error occurred while executing the test. There was an error getting information about the iSCSI controllers installed on the nodes. There was an error retrieving information about the iSCSI host bus adapters from node 'node1'. Invalid class "
The test is not performed on any of the other nodes, it just fails.
This is causing a problem when trying to extend SQL to some of the newer nodes that have been added.
I have tried evicting and readding nodes, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling failover clustering, among other things.
I did notice that on node7, if I attempt validation, and ONLY mention node7, the test will complete on that box only.
Again, we do not even use iSCSI, this is a Fibre Channel cluster. It's just the attempt by the validation wizard to list the iSCSI Host Bus Adapters that do not exist, that is failing....
Any thoughts? I did see a similar post which mentioned having a problem listing Fibre Channel adapters that sounded like the exact same error, but there was no resolution there either...

If the Web Server of hosting company has WEB Service framework, you just need know how to deploy your Web service to Web Service framework and How to deploy to Web Server. In this case, you need deploy it two time, one is for Web Server framework and one is for Web Service framework
If the Web Server of hosting company doesn't has WEB Service framework, you need build your own Web Service framework into a web application, then you just need know how to deploy your web application with Web service into Web Server framework

Changed web hosting companies/mail server

I just changed web hosting companies and want to know if I change the "incoming" and "outgoing" server to the new server addresses will I lose the emails that I have for this account? Said another way, I'm going to open mail preferences, select the mail account I need to change and type in new mail server addresses?

Hi there, and welcome to the Discussions.
Changing the outgoing (SMTP) server should not make you loose emails, since the SMTP server is, by definition, only used to send emails. The emails you have already sent and want to keep are stored in a folder that is completely independent from your choice of SMTP server.
When it comes to changing the incoming server, that's a different business. The consequences of such a change depend on the type of the server. Is it POP? IMAP?... If it is POP, I would assume that you would not loose anything, because POP works in such a way that you download all your emails from the POP server, the emails are then deleted from the server (at least, this is the default setting), and then the reference copies of your emails are the ones on your computer, which should therefore not be touched by a change in the POP server.
If the incoming server is an IMAP server, then I don't know what will happen, but there is a risk that you could loose your emails. This is because, with IMAP, the reference copies of your emails are the ones on the server, with which your computer automatically synchronizes.
In any case, before doing anything, BACKUP YOUR EMAILS, and make sure your know how to restore these backups in case something goes wrong.
Then, I suggest you wait for someone more knowledgeable than myself to better answer your question.

In starting up my own videography and photography business are there any web hosting companies that someone could recommend that have the adequate bandwidth to support lots of photo and video downloading? Most, if not all the, elcheapo hosting services (Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.) have cheap prices but crappy speed. I don't mind paying for what I need but I expect it to be delivered.

I've been looking around asking some friends I have in and out of multiple business and, rightly so, most of the feedback I've seen, the hosting companies want, up front, estimates of what my use will be and at what speeds. I've not a clue on these stats. Kind of a catch 22. Don't know the stats until you get a web site up but can't get a web site until I know the stats. This is where a .mac account would be idea, at least for starters but I think to be really useful I would need to be able to get the statistics. Also, I want my own URL with my company name in it. I believe that this is possible but I think I need to first register my name externally and then I somehow link to it from a .mac account. I've got no idea how to do this other than getting a name. That is easy.

Yes - as long as you have a valid RSS 2.0 feed to submit to iTunes.
Please make sure your site can handle the traffic - lots of people start out podcasting with files on their site - only to find out they went over their bandwidth limit for their site and get their whole site shut down.
Podcast files are large and with not that many subscribers you can quickly go over your bandwidth limit for a month with most web hosting companies.

Attaching remote event receiver to a list on host web.

We have an O365 Sharepoint 2013 site. I am trying to create a remote event receiver and attach it to a list on host web instead of appweb. Below are the links that I am referencing to do it:

They are using 'AppInstalled' event to accomplish this. The method is as follows: get the client context of the host web, get our target list in the host web, get the service url of the remote event receiver using code below:

You can turn that feature off in Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Contacts>Show in App Switcher>Recents>Off.

Dreamweaver can no longer connect to my sftp host

I have been using Dreamweaver to connect an upload files to a GoDaddy server using sftp. One day last month, this stopped working. I get the error "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. FileZilla connects to my host with the same connections. I also downloaded the latest Dreamweaver from Creative Cloud and it connects no problem. I need to get Dreamweaver 5.5 to connect as the new version with the trial ran out.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, using the AdobeCreativeCloud Cleaner Tool, using Revo uninstaller. When I re-install Dreamweaver 5.5, the site settings pop up again, so my thoughts are even in the uninstall, files remain that have some incorrect setting for this server. As a result, I renamed the configuration folder, reset the cache. No change. I cannot connect to this GoDaddy host and no matter what I do, Site Settings still hold details for my login.
How can I completely wipe this installation and all settings so that whatever is stuck in the background clears?
Or, can you suggest an alternative method? I read that it is possible that GoDaddy changed the IP address of their SSH server and that some folder or file called ssh_settings may have to be reset.

I did that several times to no avail. But now, Dreamweaver will not install. Here are the details from the log:
