Is there a .pdf reader for the X2-01 that actually...

I've looked high and low for a .pdf utility to run on the Nokia X2-01.  All I've found so far is this app in the Nokia store:
eZReader DOC PDF Lite
This app is appropriately priced at $0, because it doesn't work.  I tried several perfectly good .pdf files, but it would only open one of them, and that one had large sections with an error message ("object not supported," whatever that means).  It could not even open the X2-01's own .pdf User Guide.
Unfortunately, it appears this is the ONLY app in the world that even claims to be a .pdf reader for the X2-01!
Is there anything else available?  Should I convert my .pdf-format books to some other format, a format better supported on the X2-01?

No dude, else eZReader nothing is available at present. Stay updated in OVI store & this forum for more...

  • Is there any Vga adaptor for the Ipad 2 that is VIDEO IN rather than OUT?

Is there any Vga adaptor for the Ipad 2 that is VIDEO IN rather than VIDEO OUT? is for a student with visual impairment who needs to view the classroom digital board content from a very short distance, like the distance to an Ipad for example, so the Ipad would be ideal as an interactive monitor with typography and content easy to amplify.
At the moment, this student has a traditional flat screen monitor taking over the table next to him, so no other child can seat in it, and he has no opportunity to befriend and sporadically joke with anybody else. So much for "inclusion".

  • Is there a MapPoint Reader for the Mac?  I need to work in MapPoint but want to be able to read them on my Mac.

My team works on HP/Windows machines so Map Point makes sense but I can't read what they are putting out except as ppt. slides.
Does anyone know a reader?   I could not find one.

There is no MapPoint reader at all in the sense of opening MapPoint PTM files... not for Windows, Mac, iOS, etc.
Normally when I am working with clients and they need to view maps created with MapPoint, we write a macro to copy/paste all the interesting map views (might be all store locations or maps of territories) into Excel or PowerPoint and have some dropdowns or hyperlinks to add some interactivity as appropriate..  I've also written programs that publish all the maps to a web site. Let me know if this would be of interest to you.

  • Will there be a update for the iPad 1 that will take care security issues like 7.0.6 did for newer iPads

    Can someone answer my question?

The iPad 1 is not afected by the security issue. Hence no update is necessarry.  The code that was at the root of the problem was not added to safari until iOS 6. It is not present in iOS 5 which is as high as an original iPad can go.

  • Is there a flash drive for the iPhone 5 so I can share

Is there a flash drive for the iPhone 5 that I can plug into my phone, copy all of the hundreds of photos and videos I've taken of my baby nephew using the iPhone camera to, and then pull out so I can just give the drive to my sister? Downloading/transferring all those photos and videos to my computer, then emailing or sorting and burning them to a disc would take FOREVER. The photos and videos of the baby are all mixed in with my personal photos and videos I've taken and sorting them out would be a nightmare. Plus, I want the original photos and videos to remain on my camera even after I copy them for my sister. Any help/ideas would be most appreciated!

    Hi Allan,
    Thank you for responding.
One clarification: I agree that the iPhone is not for long-term photo storage and I'm not looking to use it that way. What I'm looking for is a quick and easy way for me to get the photos/videos of my nephew to my sister so SHE can store them long-term. (Then I can delete all but a few of them and transfer them to my computer for storage pretty quickly and easily). The way I know to get all those photos/videos to her would take a very long time (which I don't have) and would require a lot of time sorting (which I don't have time to do either). Please don't suggest I pare down the photos and videos for her. This baby is a miracle baby and the Mom needs to get all the photos and videos. Understand where I'm coming from?
Regarding not keeping any favorite photos/videos on an iPhone: It seems normal to have some favorite photos and videos remain on an iPhone, kind of like a "Grandma's brag book" of most beloved photos. Even the most no-nonsense person might have 20-30 photos of someone or something they love, so they can share them with interested people or peruse them when they want to feel connected or be grounded.
I can't be the only person dealing with this issue/needing this type of hardware. Opportunities and need for photo sharing abound. If nothing else, it seems like an easy way for Apple to make a whole lot of extra money while making a whole lot of consumers very, very happy.
Any advice? Again, thanks very much.

  • Is there a phone application for the iphone that is more Senior friendly then the Apple app that comes with it?

My Dad who is 81 is finding his iphone difficult to use. At first I was surprised that he struggles to use it. He had no problems using his old style cell phone. But after trying to teach him how to use the iphone I can now see why he struggles with it.  If the phone could have the features I've listed below it would make things so much easier for him.
    1) With the exception of incoming phone calls, the phone app always opens to the same screen. This screen gives the choices of Favorites, Recents, Contacts, Keyboard and Voicemail  in big blocks in the center of the screen.
    2) There is a setting for the speaker so that it can be set to always be on. If the user doesn't want the speaker for a particular call or voice mail message  there is a  button on the screen to turn it off temporarily on the upper right corner.
    3) The dot button used to listen to a voicemail message is a bigger dot. And it remains visible after listening to the message. It changes color rather then completely disappearing after listening to the message.
    4) The upper left corner is reserved for only edit or to navigate back buttobs.  The phone app has a greeting button in this spot on the Voicemail screen. A better place for recording a greeting would be in settings.

Anyone know of a good iHome or other dock/charger/speaker for the iPhone 5 that actually lets you keep a case on the phone?  I'll get a super slim case... no Otterbox or anything like that.  Kinda surprised how difficult this is to find.  The reviews for all iPhone 5 docks says that you can't fit the phone with a case on.

I am in the process of expanding a database of chemistry journal articles.  These materials are ideally acquired in two formats when both are available-- PDF and HTML.  To oversimplify, PDFs are for the user to read, and derivatives of the HTML versions are for the computer to read.  Both formats are, of course, readily recognized and indexed by Spotlight.  Journal articles have two essential components with regards to a database:  the topical content of the article itself, and the cited references to other scientific literature.  While a PDF merely lists these references, the HTML version has, in addition, links to the cited items.  Each link URL contains the digital object identifier (doi) for the item it points to. A doi is a unique string that points to one and only one object, and can be quite useful if rendered in a manner that enables indexing by Spotlight.  Embedded URL's are, of course, ignored by Spotlight.  As a result, HTML-formatted articles must be processed so that URL's are openly displayed as readable text before Spotlight will recognize them.  Conversion to DOC format using MS Word, followed by conversion to RTF using Text Edit accomplishes this, but is quite labor intensive.
In the last few months, I have added about 3,500 articles to this collection, which means that any procedure for rendering URL's must be automated and able to process large batches of documents with minimal user oversight.  This procedure needs to generate a separate file for each HTML document processed. Trials using Automator's "Get Specified Finder Items" and "Get Selected Finder Items", as well as "Ask For Finder Items"  (along with "Get URLs From Web Pages") give unsatisfactory results.  When provided with multiple input documents, these three commands generate output in which the URLs from multiple input items are merged into a single block, which yields a single file using "Create New Word Document" as the subsequent step.  A one-to-one, input file to output file result can be obtained by processing one file at a time, but this requires manual selection of each item and one-at-a-time processing. What I need is a command that accepts multiple input documents, but processes them one at a time, generating a separate output for each file processed.  Is there a way for Automator to do this?

    Hi,
With the project all done, i'm preparing for the presentation. Managed to get my hands on a HD beamer for the night (Epason TW2000) and planning to do the presentation in HD.
That of course managed to bring up some problems. I posted a thread which i'll repost here . Sorry for the repost, i normally do not intend to do this, but since this thread is actually about the same thing, i'd like to ask the same question to you. The end version is in AfterEffects, but that actually doesn't alter the question. It's about export:
"I want to export my AE project of approx 30 min containing several HD files to a Blu Ray disc. The end goal is to project the video in HD quality using the Epson  EMP-TW2000 projector. This projector is HD compatible.
To project the video I need to connect the beamer to a computer capable of playing a heavy HD file (1), OR burn the project to a BRD (2) and play it using a BRplayer.
I prefer option 2, so my question is: which would be the preferred export preset?
    Project specs:
                        - 1920x1080 sq pix  (16:9)
                        - 25 fps
                        - my imported video files (Prem.Pro sequences) are also 25 fps and are Progressive (!)
To export to a BRD compatible format, do i not encounter a big problem: my projectfiles are 25 fps and progressive, and I believe that the only Bluray preset dispaying 1920x1080 with 25 fps requests an INTERLACED video  (I viewed the presets found on this forum, this thread)... There is also a Progr. format, BUT then you need 30 fps (29,...).
So, is there one dimension that can be changed without changing the content of the video, and if yes which one (either the interlacing or the fps).
I'm not very familiar with the whole Blu-ray thing, I hope that someone can help me out."
    Please give it a look.
    Thanks,
    Jef

  • Adobe Reader can not open thousands of vital PDF files for the company I work for.

Adobe Reader can open every PDF file on our server except for the many files that were received by one company. The coding is corrupt and I have not found a solution yet on how to decode it in order for it to open properly.
I have looked into using uudecode but the online service it provided didn't seem to recognize the code I was putting in.
The coding to these PDF files looks like this:
From what I have seen all of the working files are much shorter and the coding is a lot more organized and starts with %PDF
If anyone can help me decode it or somehow restore it without receiving the file from the original sender, that would be ideal. Any other suggestions are much appreciated.
    Thank you!

Your analysis is good. All working PDFs will start %PDF. These files may be
    * encoded
    * compressed
    * damaged in transit
    * destroyed by malware
    * not a PDF but mislabelled
The format is certainly not uuencode/uudecode nor anything I've seen before. I think you need to contact the senders. If they say there isn't a problem, send a file back and ask if it works for them, because that will check for damage etc. If they CAN open it, they have some special tools or procedures and need to share them with you.

  • Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes?

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes? The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.

Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track.  However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone.  I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone.  I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets.  I have searched quite a bit for this but can't find anything.  I hope we can find something.

  • Best pdf reader for turning pages quickly?

    Hi there,
I'm about to buy an iPad, and one of my primary uses will be to hold and view sheet music for a vocal group I'm in. (The idea of going to rehearsal without a giant, heavy stack of sheet music...is genius.) I've read a lot of reviews of pdf readers on the iPad, and I know that iBooks allows you to read them as well, but I'm looking for the best app that will allow me to neatly organize my sheet music files in folders and subfolders, but most importantly have a fast page-loading time...it would defeat the purpose if we're reading along in the music and the next page doesn't load right away!
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I use goodreader, which is fairly good, and alows for folder creation.
In my quick, unscientific test, just now with a 60+ page pdf with lots of graphics in it, if you spend more than a second or two on a single page, the next one displays right away. If you try to swipe through a bunch in a row, really fast, you get the checkerboard pattern until the new page loads.
AS you are looking at sheet music, this would work as you would definately be staying on a single page for a 1/2 minute or more (dpeending on the tempo of course).
I would still google for sheet music apps that might be more of what your looking for. A coworker (thats left for the weekend already) has sheet music on his ipad and I can ask on Monday what he prefers.
    Till then
    Jason

  • Best PDF reader for iPad2?

Is there a PDF "reader" app for the iPad which will allow you to 1. search for a specific word (or words) and 2. allow you to copy text from a PDF?

I would recommend ReaddleDocs for iPad, works great on my iPad, support full txt search, and easy navigation across pages, and lightning quick.

But if for free, iBook is cool too!

  • LiveCycle Designer 7 : Saving the PDF form for the users ?

    Hi,
When building a form, which will be filled by users, is there any way that the users can be offered the possibility to save their data within the PDF so that they can send the complete form by emails or through a other files exchange media (FTP, WEB, Flashdisk... )
Although having the possibility to sent only the XML data via email (which is great and we would like to keep this option) we fear that some of our users, which are filling the form, might not feel confident with this and might want to sent their completed form too ?
    Thanks for your answer
    Eric B

I was able to make this work for the first time yesterday. Assuming that you have Abobe Acrobat 8.0, once you have built the form...using adobe 8 go to the Advanced menu and select "Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader". The first time that I did this, and then attached the form to a user of reader - they were not able to save the completed form. So - I went to 'Forms' on the menu and selected "distribute form". Then the user of adobe was able to saved that form and changes that they made.
The distribute function wants you to email from there as a default. I had trouble because our default mail client is Novell. Still can't get that to work right. BUT - you can distribute the form and save it to your drive for distribution later. I then attached it to an email and sent it out to users.
Be sure to walk your end user through - using save as and saving it to their computer. My folks are used to NOT being able to do that so they still said they couldn't save the completed form.
Sorry if this explanation is very basic - but I am not at all a programmer! :) This is what worked for me. I spent hours on this site yesterday trying to work out the email piece and stumbled into this solution.
    Good luck!

  • What no PDF Reader for Entire S60 ?????

It is suprising that Adobe has not yet released an PDF reader for S60 phones, more than an million people own these type of phones!!! , I myself own an Nokia 3230 and i am using another PDF reader (Pdf+ 1.65 ). hoping to get Adobe's version soon .

    Hi
It certainly is, and one can make very practical applications for these devices, certainly now the N95 is becoming available.
But there is light on the horizon.
There is a professional reader for pdf files - NOT from Adobe - called the Pdf+ reader. And there are already applications available for this utility which runs on ALL S60 3rd ed smartphones.
    Have a look at:
Would be nice if you let me know what you think of this.

Unlikely.  Based on the complete lack of detail of the issue provided it is entirely possible the same issue would occur.
Unless and until the user provides some actual details of the problem, there is nothing the indicate that the issue is with the iPhone.
