Is there a recommended tutorial for editing multiple track regions?
I've been used to DP where you define a region of time on the sequence, select all the tracks you want to affect, then proceed to do any number of things with those tracks..like, maybe nudge them one way or another to line up a punch in more precisely. For example, I was tracking in another studio where they were using Nuendo. The session was laying down 8 tracks of drums to a stereo mix of the main tune. When the drummer wanted to go back and punch in a few bars, the engineer could grab the in and out of all 8 tracks of the punch in and easily line up the in point to a precise location, as well as trim the out.
Maybe I need to break out the manual again, but in Logic, I can set the locators, but only see the button where I can "cut" that selection, and am not sure if it's possible to move all the tracks around.
Anyway...thanks for any direction here.
Hello JAYUSBEEUS,
"iMovie is meant to work with firewire connected miniDV camcorders"
HDD camcorders record in MPEG format which is not accepted by iMovie. If you were to buy one of these cameras, you would have to convert all your recorded video to DV format before being able to edit it.
If you want to be able to edit your videos on your mac, your best choice is a MiniDV camcorder. Sony, Canon, and Panasonic have several models in your pricerange. My personal favorite is the Panasonic GS500, a 3-chip camcorder with very good pic quality at a reasonable price. In order to browse through some unbiased reviews go to www.camcorderinfo.com - maybe start reading here:

When a track has space between video clips, the split clip allows the "delete and close gap" to go past the CTI. The delete leaves me to move the tracks manually, thereby loosing the alignment I worked so hard to create.
Bill
I have reviewed the entire thread several times. The the following is my current understanding based on your most current posts. Please let me know if I have interpreted what you wrote correctly.
You are doing 3 tracks multi-camera editing using Premiere Elements 12, with each track scene the same but each from a different angle (all 3 in sync for the moment depicted). Based on which track content is on top, you are going along deciding what is to be seen by "removing" the appropriate clip(s). And, as you do that, unwanted clip movement is occurring which is messing up your in sync multi-camera editing alignment.
I suspect all this started when you decided to use Delete and Close Gap and found that you could not on any video track other than Video Track1. It appears that you found "Cut" was an option. You do not want "Cut" in this instance, you want "Delete", and any clip movements should be made with clips as a group and/or individually with the Ctrl key or Alt key of the computer main keyboard held down as you do that.
Right now I am not understanding how Snagit got into the workflow. But, the bottom line is, if you have a strategy that works for you, please go with it. I will stay with you in this task until you succeed. As a backup, you may want to keep a copy or copies of the project with the track alignment in tact.
If I am correct in my understanding of the multi-camera editing aspects of your task, I would ask you to think about (at the right time) using Opacity of clips rather than cuts to decide what is to be shown and not shown. Select a clip, go to Applied Effects Tab/Applied Effects Palette/Opacity Panel expanded. For those clips you want to see 100% Opacity, for those you do not want to see Opacity 0% instead of a cut out.
As for the matter of Set In and Set Out points, I suspect that the Adobe rep was referring to the following splitting of clips in the Preview Window of the project. But, I do not see that as the way to go for this particular task.

If you think a screenshot of your opened tracks would help me focus better into your project, please post one, especially if you think that we are not yet in sync.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 for Mac does not show up in Applications. Tutorial for editing from iPhoto shows selecting the Adobe software in Applications. Am I missing a step in registering product?
I answered my own question: There's a difference between "download' and "install." Hunt for "install" (1.5 hrs in my case) and line up your passwords, Adobe ID, etc, then install. Took 15 min. The right choice shows up in Applications. Now it's on to figuring out why photo selected for edit in iPhoto does not show up on screen in Elements.

So, is there a video tutorial for using cyberduck and iweb to upload to a website? The written instructions on iweb are not specific enough.
Might be worth posting that in the iWeb forum.

Is there a recommended size for photos used in Keynote?
I'm creating a slide presentation for our leadership program's graduation showing in photos all the activities. Is there a recommended size (in pixels or dpi) for full slide photos?
It really depends on the size of the screen that the presentation will displayed on. If the file size of the Keynote doc is not an issue you can make the resolution (in px) as large as you care to.
DPI is not relevent since it is used for print. -

Thank YouIt sounds like you disabled the guest network from your AirPort Express using AirPort Utility.....but you did not delete the network from the stored settings on your Mac.
We have no way of knowing what the "various instructions given by other members" might have included, but if you have not already done so on your Mac......
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
Open Network
Click on Wi-Fi on the left
Click Advanced at the lower right
Here you will see a list of networks that your Mac has joined in the past
Click on the name of the guest network to highlight it
Click the - (minus) button at the bottom of the network list to delete that entry
Do the same if there are other networks that you no longer need
Click OK at the lower right of the window
Click Apply at the lower right of the next window
Close the windows
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > KeyChain Access
Locate a listing with the name of the guest network
Click on that listing to highlight it
Click the Delete key on your Mac
Click Delete in the window that appears
Close the windows
Restart your Mac now -
Is there a plug-in for editing web pages in Firefox (or how to otherwise edit in Firefox?
When opening an .htm/.html file in Internet Explorer to view and/or edit, I can view the source code and choose an editing program (I use Windows Notebook as my default just because it is quick and easy). Can I edit source pages directly from the Firefox browser, or 'link' to Notebook, or . . . to accomplish the same task?
I have other editing programs on my machine, but they either are clunky or require hoops to be jumped through to do my 'hand' editing. The way I have been doing it for many years is quick and easy, and doesn't require me to open more than one program to accomplish my task. This saves a lot of time when I have multiple pages to edit and/or a lot of 'picky' changes to make.

Workflow for editing multiple size projects
Hi,
I work for a digital design agency and we often produce edits that are for multiple sized placements on websites. For example we may have one for an MPU (300x250), another for a leaderboard (728x90) and so on.
The problem I've found, and there doesn't seem to be a good solution for, is that Premiere Pro doesn't allow a project setting to be changed after the fact.
The only solution I've found is creating a new project at the required size, importing the sequence in and rendering from that, and I was wondering if there's a better workflow?
Somebody suggested using AE to do everything, but it seems to make more sense to me to use the editing app to do the editing. One problem with the workaround is that the sequence just comes in as a single block apparently, it doesn't keep the edits separate. And sometimes I might want to tweak the edit for different placements.
It all seems a bit convoluted at the moment, and I'm just trying to figure out a streamlined workflow for producing edits to multiple sizes.
Thanks,
SteveHi,
it has to go to quicktime I'm afraid - I've questioned this myself, but basically it goes to another authoring company who encode to flash, host the site etc.
Normally I do it as uncompressed or animation at highest quality.
Yeah, the encoding doesn't take long - just trying to feel around the best way to do this - trying to get something that's composed for one aspect ratio to work in a completely different one is more of a bottleneck than the actual encoding.
I may be mistaken, but I'm sure older versions of Premiere allowed the project settings to be changed at any point.
Thanks,
Steve -
Is there a recommended "order" for displaying CSS shorthand attributes?
When using shorthand (for background tags, for example) is
there a
"preferred" or "recommended" order of displaying the
attributes?
background: url(filename.jpg) no-repeat left top fixed
background: no-repeat left fixed top url(filename.jpg)
etc. It's safer to assume that the order is important than to
assume that it's
not. Try giving the font style a random order, for example.
Or the list

Speaker recommendations wanted for editing in Premiere Pro CC
For several years I have been using a pair of M-Audio near field speakers that were recommended to me for video editing. Apparently, these speakers are widely used. However, I find their sound to be incredibly flat and midrange, with few highs or lows. Lately, I have been getting some unpleasant surprises when listening to my mixes on other speakers or devices; I often hear undesired high and low frequency sounds that I never heard in my studio. This happens even when listening on such lowly gear as iPhone ear buds! The other day I was listening to a mix with a pair of Apple buds and heard distant voices in a rural ambience clip that I never heard on the M-Audio speakers.
Can anyone recommend a better pair of speakers? Thanks Richarad ..It has solved the problem but still crashes some times .As the programme has the break (bumper)after every five minutes ,i hope it will not compress bumper time too after export.
