Is there a scroll box option in Captivate 7?

I would like to a small text box (10% of the screen) on one of my slides that contains a lot of text.  I would like the user to be able to scroll through the text and for only three or four lines to be visible at a time.  Any ideas?
Thank you in advance!
Ryan

Captivate 7 has an interaction that will meet your needs (works for SWF and HTML5 output)

  • In the iDVD window, there is a box in the lower left corner.  When I scroll over it, I get the message to hide or show the intro movie.  Checking or unchecking the box seems to do nothing.  Can anyone explain?

Working with iDVD on a project, there is a box in the lower left corner and sometimes another in the lower right corner.  Scrolling over the one in the lower left corner, I get a message indicating that this box hides or shows the intro movie.  I have checked and unchecked the box, but see nothing different in the project.  Nor can I figure out what is meant by "intro movie."  Can anyone explain?

Go to iDVD Help and type in Intro Movie, and you will get the full version of this:
Many iDVD themes have “motion menus” that include animations or video that loop, or play repeatedly, until the viewer clicks a menu button. Themes with motion menus have a motion icon in the lower-right corner.
In addition to background video, iDVD motion menus may also feature an intro, or short animation, that plays once before the part that loops. Other motion menus also include an “outro” that plays after the viewer clicks a button, serving as a transition between the menu and the selected content.
An example of an iDVD 6.0 theme with an intro and an outro is Reflection White Main. In this theme, the first drop zones appear in the intro, and the buttons and title appear just before the looping part of the background video. In the outro, everything flies offscreen after the viewer clicks a button.
iDVD provides tools for viewing these motion menus without going into preview mode, which is especially helpful when you are filling drop zones, and for turning the intro or outro off.
Here are ways to view and edit the background movie:
    ◼
Drag the diamond-shaped motion playhead along the scrubber bar (shown below), to view the background movie, stopping wherever you like.
(If you don’t see the motion playhead in iDVD, choose View > Show Motion Playhead.)
    ◼
Deselect the checkboxes at the left and right end of the scrubber bar if you don’t want to use the intro or outro, respectively, in your DVD menu.
The scrubber bar shows the intro and outro as shaded areas at the beginning and end.
You can also control the intro and outro from the Menu Info window. With your pointer over the menu (and with no buttons or text objects selected), press Command-I to open that window. Select or deselect the Intro and Outro checkboxes in the Background section of the window.
NOTE: If you drag your own movie to a motion menu background, the outro is automatically removed. To customize the background and keep the outro, use a still image in the menu background instead of a movie.

  • HELP! Missing Scroll Box

    Hi everyone.
I hope someone can help because this is giving me big problems!
    Im using Windows 98.
When I use MS -DOS command Prompt on my PC there is no vertical scroll bar.
Im getting big errors and cant debug my program because i cant scroll up!
To top it off, I cant run my program on my university PC (which has scroll bars!)because it uses JDBC and they have restrictions on it!
Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get a scroll box on my MS-DOS prompt command Prompt???
Id really appreciate any help here
    thanks,

I don't think win98 can do what you want.
It might be easier to (when needing the scroll) run your program through an IDE that 'captures' the output,
the output is displayed in a scrollable viewing area at the bottom of the IDE.
Gel http://www.gexperts.com/ only outputs as above
JCreator http://www.jcreator.com/ outputs to both - there is an option to 'capture output'
    both are free

  • I have an iPad 3 and Apple TV 3rd gen - all software up to date.  I can use airplay but there is no mirroring option available from the iPad 3.  Why?

I have been able to get Airplay to work with my iPad 3 and 3rd Generation iPad TV, however there is no mirroring option when I hit the airplay icon - hence I can get audio, but no video.
    iPad software:  iOS 5.1.1
    Apple TV software:  5.0.2 (4250)
Any thoughts as to what's going wrong?

Are you enabling Airplay mirroring properly?
Double click the Home button, scroll to the leftmost screen and under Airplay look to turn mirroring On.

  • X6: why is there no photo album option in the gall...

why is there no photo album option in the gallery?
other units like the N79 had this option..
but i dont get why they didnt include it with X6
that sucks... ive had alot of trouble finding reliable and working photo programs that allow

not that really, i mean, we cant single out certain images that we want and add them to an album, like in previous models...
i really hope for that in the X6 ((
I think you can achieve what you want to do on the X6. On the X6 an album is termed a folder.
If you go to the Gallery so that you can see the large list of thumbnail photos and select
Options > Folder options > New folder
Create the folder with a name of your choice.
You should then see a folder icon appear at the top of the large list of thumbnail images. If you then select, or 'Mark', the images that you want to group together by selecting
Options > Mark/Unmark > Mark (you may have to scroll down before Mark/Unmark appears).
Once you have a little tick by all the photos that you want to group together then select
Options > Folder options > Move to folder and choose the folder you created earlier.
You should then have only those images grouped together in a single folder (or album ). You can create as many folders as you like. I use this method to group all my wallpaper images together and also any system images that the gallery may discover so that they don't clog up the main gallery.
Note: From what I can see the actual locations of the photographs on either drive C: or drive E: remain unchanged, only their listing within the gallery is changed so that an image appears in the main group or within a 'folder'.
Hope that helps and I hope I've understood you correctly in terms of what you want to do.

  • Images in scroll boxes

HI, I have notice when you create a scroll box the text has
to be dynamic and not static which means all of the text properties
remain the same when you try to alter them. Is there a way to use
different fonts, sizes, etc in a scroll box field. I would like to
learn how to incorperate graphics in this scrollable field. Help

    Hi
Yeah, this is difficult due to Flash's method of rendering
the text and images, even with the html enabled text is generally
one size, one colour and one font. Images can be rendered but they
cant be positioned nor can text wrap around very effectively.
Read the Flash Help(F1) for more on info importing images
    into a TextArea Component.

  • Why there is no 1080P option of editing?

    Hello
I want to know why there is no 1080P option of editing?
There are only 720P option and 1080i option
    Thank you in advance

As others have explained, Premiere Elements 8 (PE8) does not support 1080p out of the box.
I created some custom presets to add 1080p (and other) editing modes to PE8.  These are 'experimental' (as in there is no guarantee it will work for you).  The 1080p25 and 1080p30 presets should "just work" without any extra effort on your part.
The 1080p24 preset is a different story...Most camcorders don't store the 24p signal as a 24p bitstream. Instead, they run this convoluted process of converting the sensor's 24p-signal through a pulldown-algorithm, and the result is stored in an interlaced-bitstream.  PE8 cannot 'recover' the original 24p sequence from the interlaced-bitstream (the 24p frames are in there, but they're not marked as such.) So when you try to import this kind of footage into a PE8 project, the video suffers all sorts of visual problems (skipped frames, duplictaed frames, horizontal lines, etc.) The only solution around this is to use a third-party deinterlacing program, which adds considerable time&expense.
Now if you happen to have one of the handful of "native 24p" or "true  24p" camcorders (Canon HV-40, HF-S20/S21/S200, Panasonic SD9), these camcorders record the 24p-footage in a true 24p bitstream.  PE8 will import these just fine, without any extra effort on your part.  (Likewise, the Canon T2i/550D, 7D, and 5D Mark II record 24p in a true 24p bitstream.)
If you're interested in trying the progressive-scan presets, download them from this link:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/605768?tstart=0

  • Data View properties doesn't contain a Miscellaneous - Display Search Box option

When I create a List View via the web  and edit the web part I have a Miscellaneous - Display Search Box option.
When I insert a Data View via SharePoint Designer 2013 I don't see that option.  Is there a work around?
    Thanks,
    Dwight

    Hi,
I can reproduce the issue and there are seems no OOTB way to display the search box at this moment.
A workaround is using JavaScript and query string to filter a list view and retrieve the values you want.

  • How to continue the running process behind the model dialogue box options ?

How to continue the running process behind the model dialogue box options like this
In Updation of K7 user press the Cancel Button
New dialogue box appear with Yes/No options.
But the backend updation is going on... not Pause the updation.
Like this how to do ?
    Please provide me code.

I don't know, if you mean you have done your form or you have solved the problem.
It's visible your code is only partly reflecting your screenshot, and that's okay to demonstrate the problem you have given a fine example.
As you marked my suggestion as solution this may not be needed anymore, but here's how I modified your code and used a self made QuestionBox instead of messagebox.
The essential part is defining a callback method and letting the QuestionBox call back there. It's not essential I used RAISEEVENT, but it's fine as it has all the behaviour and parameters needed to call back.

  • How do you scroll box images and text?

Can someone, please, explain to me how to create a Scrallable Image box? I have a group of images for a gallery. I would like the viewer to scroll through them normally (old school style) with the scroll bars.
I need to know how to do it in Flash 8
    Thanks in advance

I search EVERYWHERE for help and got none. I post here and continue searching. I then run across this site and it does the trick:
    http://www.developingwebs.net/flash/mx_scrollingtextboxes.php
There is just one little problem. I also need to place buttons in the scroll box along with the images.
The idea is that you click the thumbnail images (held within the scrollbox) and up top the large view pops in (Directs to a keyframe).
I place the buttons into a Movie Clip but the Scroll Path refuses to acknowledge the movie clicp. Instead it looks for something on my C drive. I've tried saving the Buttons as a stand alone SWF, and they do show up in the main SWF file's scroll box, but they don't do anything.
PS: Thanks for the help and quick responce.

If you're running Java 7, then in System Preferences > Java > Java Control Panel in the Security tab there is a check box to enable Java in your browser. To check for update go to the Update tab.

  • Is this possible to hide black runtime dialog box in adobe captivate 8?

    Hi!
This happens in ipad. I am using indesign. I publish adobe captivate project and i take html file in indesign. Whenever i move from quizes article to other articles and when i come back to quzies again then this black box saying " Adobe Captivate, Continue from where you stopped last time? appears which i really want to be get rid off. I will be very thankful if anyone can help me to get rid from it. I found this in object style manager but couldn't figure it out how to turn it down..........

Here's a sample that demonstrates what you want: https://acrobat.com/#d=It35dD4zaX5QM--Pv36F-Q
The buttons on the right hand side would normally be hidden and you can use anything you want for their icon, even though in this case it's just text. You'll have to study the JavaScript to see how it works. There are two functions in a document-level JavaScript, one of which is called from the combo box's Keystroke event. Also, note the export values of the items in the list and how the script uses them.

  • Spacing in between choices......there should be padding options...more formatting please

I have a survey that has multiple check box choices.......after deploying the form....it's way too tight and the end users have been complaining about how it looks.  There apparently is no option or control to override or fix.  Please incorporate into the forms as an option.

You should add your idea here : http://forums.adobe.com/community/formscentral?view=idea&ideaView
Click on the "Create Idea" in the top right corner.
I am curious, are you looking for more vertical spaces between the choices or horizontal spacing?
Are you choices stacked vertically or side by side?
