Is there a site FIOS users can check to see if there "bug" is known/being worked/etc?

I share the frustations many have listed on this board about FIOS TV and the IMG.
We joined FIOS in an early test market, so I remember when Verizon was just using the "default IMG" rather than "creating their own".  When Verizon rolled out their first version of their own IMG, it was a huge step backwards from the version that came standard on the cable box (I believe it was Microsoft).  Since they started "building" their own, long-time users have been frustrated that we have yet to get back to the quality level that we had without Verizon's "help".
So, everytime they download a major release (without warning any of us) and scrambling the channel lineup, I wind up discovering what they fixed and what they left broken.  Inevitably, I call in with various problems to see if they know about the problem or not.  Tragically, depending on who you talk to, you get different answers.
The last call I made was about the fact that some channels cannot be added to "Favorites 1" and other channels cannot be removed from "Favorites 1".  When I called the first time, the rep told me "hmmm... that shouldn't be happening, I've never heard of that", but her solutions didn't fix the problem.  So I called again, and this time the rep said "Oh, yeah, we know... there is no fix... we are working on it".    This problem has been around since Verizon took control of the IMG, and the fact that they haven't fixed it is just something I have gotten used to (my expectations are VERY low for any products supported by a company the size of Verizon -- who hide behind the WORST voice help system I have ever hung up on).

Dear Verizon Moderators,
For the more sophisticated users, who do not need yet another refresh of our box to confirm the bug we have discovered in your IMG releases, is there any way for us to see an acknowledged "bug list" online to save us the frustration of navigating the FIOS Help Line (multiple times to get a real answer from a knowledgeable CSR who is not just going through the checklists)?
I would appreciate the fact that you KNOW there are problems and that you are working on them in a list of "known problems" that I can check easily.
This forum is a great start to helping the community, but it would be nice if users could find the answer without having to wait for acknowledgement from Verizon.

I agree with the above posts, it would be great to have a place with a list of already known problems, and a way for those of us with the time and interest to participate in making the FiOS experience better. Several thoughts:
1) Send a PM to a moderator here asking to participate in a test, or asking for improvements to the Forum. I have done that, some of the improvements I suggested have occurred (thanks Kathleen and CharlotteS), hoping more will; it can't hurt. And I understand my request to be a beta tester has been forward to development. At least one poster put that kind of request in a forum post and I think his was also forwarded.
2) Go to the following Verizon Products Trial site and sign up to test new things: https://www36.verizon.com/MM/Protected/TestTrack/SignIn.aspx. No guarantees, not much on the site right now, but if you sign up you might get to participate in the future.
3) Consider using the Verizon Direct forum at http://www.dslreports.com to report problems rather than the FSC (or after a frustrating experience with the FSC). You have to be a registered user to post in that forum, but I have had a good experience using it. Verizon employees monitor the forum and respond, and only they and you can see the details of your and their posts (one of the things I have suggested to the moderators here is something like Verizon Direct here). 
I am retired, I have time to put into an effort to improve FiOS TV. Plus I have quite a bit of experience in testing new computer hardware and software before announcment and/or delivery to customers (IBM), so I think I could help (and I really don't think I could hurt it...). Plus in two more days I will have had FiOS TV for three full years, I have gone through all of the good (and a little bad.....) along the way.

    Connect your device to computer.  In iTunes left Pane, select your iPhone under 'Devices'.  Then on th right Pane, select Tones tab.

    No, Apple does not take trade ins.  Your carrier may have different polices regarding trade ins. Best to contact them about it.
    Alternatively you can use Apple's Recycling Program with one of their partners.  They will give you an Apple Store Gift card with the value they determine the iPhone has. And you can use the Gift card in the purchase of a new iPhone.
    You can go here to see how much your current iPhone 4s is worth in the recycling program.

  • I can log in to my wordpress site or rather I can get into the back end of my site but I can no longer see the edit button on Firefox

    I use firefox 24 and it was working fine up until last weekend then I could no longer see the edit button on my wordpress site.
    The thing is that I can get into my site via the site-wp-admin url as cookies allow me to do so but once I click on visit site then I cannot do anything because there are no edit buttons and not a log in button either so I do not even have the option of trying and failing or succeeding.
    It is quite puzzling as it happened just recently.
    I now have to use chrome to do all my editing since there is no problems on that browser

    Let me start with the general advise...
    When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
    Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
    Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
    orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
    On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
    If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
    Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

  • MSVS-2010 users: Can you *PLEASE* verify whether the "View Call Hierarchy" feature works for you?

    I recently decided to educate myself in the intricacies of plugin development and have been experimenting with the set of Samples provided. Supposedly, Visual Studio 2010 (the official IDE for this development) has a very useful feature named "View Call Hierarchy", as described here:

    My problem is that that feature never works for me in C/C++ projects. Regardless of what function name I right-click, I always get this error message:
           "A function with the name 'xyz' could not be located"
    Note: For C# projects, the feature works perfectly.
    I have seen on the net some suggestions, from "remove the SDF (Intellisense) files" to "Reinstall Visual Studio".
    I have 5 Visual Studio Pro installations in different computers and the feature does not work ever, in any one of them. I have tried with the Adobe source code, I have tried to create a basic MFC project and the feature does not work. I have tried C and C++ and it does not work.  Well, you get the idea.
    Can you folks share your experience with this issue?

    - Acrobat SDK 9.1: Comes with Visual Studio 2008 project files.
    - Acrobat SDK X:    Comes with Visual Studio 2009 project files.

  • One user can't get Outlook to work

    Hi,
    We have one user who is having problems with Outlook. It started a few weeks ago, and no one else is having the same problem. It says "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online to complete this action"
    Environment:
    Outlook 2010
    Windows 7
    Exchange 2010
    What i've tried:
    1. Repairing the Outlook installation
    2. Running anti-virus full scan, which revealed that there were viruses on this computer!
    3. Making sure the workstation can ping the Exchange server. It can, but Outlook can't reach the Exchange server.
    4. Running scanpst or whatever it is. It found problems and I choose the repair option.
    5. Uninstalled Office 2010 then reinstalled it
    I've run out of ideas really, and have tried pretty much everything that googling found. Any ideas?

    They were using OWA as a workaround from their workstation, then started using Outlook on their laptop and that worked. So OWA works for them and Outlook works from
    a different computer.

    Is it possible to run this while Outlook is going through the setup wizard? I haven't seen this while it was configuring, so i haven't tried that.

    destroying their profile and letting Outlook recreate it. You could rename the AppData folder to do this
    I went through Ctrl Panel > Mail, and removed their profile, and then ran the Outlook wizard several times. Although, i haven't tried that since uninstalling/reinstalling Outlook. I will try that next week when this user is available. Is this sufficient,
    or should I rename the AppData folder like you said?

    Hi Mark,
    This is by design. When a user logs in to SharePoint, SharePoint checks to see if this user has permissions in the current site (or list/item). If the user has permissions, he can log in to SharePoint, it doesn't matter if he has a user profile or not.
    I think the user has permissions on the site he is trying to access. These can be permissions given to him directly, or he is member of a AD security group that allows him to access the site.
    You can check this by going to Site Actions -> Site Settings -> Site Permissions. In the ribbon, click "Check Permissions". Enter the username for that user and you can see how the user is given permissions to the site.

  • Library in shared folder - users can see, but not change?

    We have or music library saved to the shared folder so all of the users in the family can access the music. However, only the original user can make changes (change genre, mark don't include in shuffle, etc.). Is this by design, or should everyone be able to make changes to the music?

    This still does not fix it... If you cannot R&W over the folders and the library, you cannot even open the library. I've been looking into the same issue, and have not been successful. I might try what I used for iPhoto and worked beautifully; I have not done so, because if I remember correctly, it was posted that this does not work:
    sudo fsaclctl -p / -e
    sudo chmod +a "<other user> allow delete,chown,list,search,add_file,\
    addsubdirectory,delete_child,file_inherit,directoryinherit" <path to directory>

    There is no publicly available database of stolen iPhones.
    You can ask the local police; but they will only know about iPhones
    reported as stolen locally and not elsewhere in the state/county/shire/country/world.

  • After port forward, airport utility can no longer see my time capsule

    I tried to forward public port 1025 to private port 80 on a raspberry pi using  airport utility. But after I did that,  the airport utility can no longer see my time capsule. Wifi still works correctly. Are there any conflicts about port 1025? How to fix that other than resetting the time capsule?

    Reboot the whole network..
    No luck tell me what OS version you are running the utility on and what model and firmware TC???
    Note with Yosemite, anything can and will happen.

    You should be able to switch stores but you cannot purchase without a billing address in that country.

  • Laptop connect, Map Pro can't even see the AEBS... what gives?

    I'm having no problems connecting to the AEBS network with my Macbook Pro, but my Mac Pro can't even see it. However, my Mac Pro works perfectly with my flatmate's Netgear wireless. Soooo.... what am I doing wrong? I've tried hard resets, unplugging, etc. and my Mac Pro simply can't find the AEBS at all, while working just fine with a Netgear wifi, but my Macbook Pro has no issues...

    yeah thanks... it sometimes does see the airport but it keeps disappearing then reappearing. Very spotty connection, whereas it was working great for a couple weeks two weeks ago. It's really weird.
