Is there a size limit for uploading files?

is there a size limit for uploading files?

You have max 20GB storage.
Upload anything you want up to that limit - be it one file or many.
The only limit after that is the speed of your internet connection since extremely large files can take hours to upload.

On your iOS device or desktop of your computer, there are no size limits, other than the total size of your dropbox storage space.  To open the file on you iPad though, you need to have as much space free on the iPad as the file is, since it must first be downloaded onto your iPad.  So, how much free space is there on your iPad?

  • Size limit for flar file with Sol 10 WANBOOT

There seems to be some kind of a size limit for flash archive files used by wanboot. When I try to wanboot jumpstart, I get the following:
    Processing profile
    - Opening Flash archive
ERROR: HTTP server returned an invalid archive file size: <-1256985017> bytes
ERROR: Invalid HTTP headers were returned from the server
    ERROR: Flash installation failed
    Solaris installation program exited.
The flash archive is about 3GB. I'm doing the WANBOOT using the "boot cdrom" work-around, because the V100 I'm jumpstarting doesn't support the newer OBP parameters.
If create a new smaller flash archive like so:
    mv sol10.flar sol10.flar.old
    dd if=sol10.flar.old of=sol10.flar bs=1024K count=1024
cutting the flar down to 1GB. Then I do the wanboot. I don't get the error, and the jumpstart proceeds. Of course it would eventually have a problem when the cpio file reached premature end.
So is there a prescribed limit to flars with WANBOOT. I'm assuming it's 2GB, but if so, why?
No I haven't tried creating a compressed flar: that's next.

Any help would be much appreciated.hi. i spent a long time on this issue...and got it working reliably for more than 10 gb flars.
there are two issues- 1) apache must be 64 bit capable, and 2) you need the latest wanboot miniroot, for solaris 9 and one for solaris 10. i worked for a different division of a major car company based in stuttgart (take a guess) than i do now, and we eventually received the support we needed from sun, through the early release program. i do not know any details about if, how, or when those miniroots are otherwise available. at some point, i can only assume they will be generally available to all, if not already.
if someone knows more about this availability issue, i would also be interested in this issue.
    thanks, dls

  • HT201250 Is there a size limit for an external drive to be used with time machine?

I have an iMac with a 2TB drive. I have a 2TB WD drive used for Time Machine that is full. I would like to go to the bigest WD (type) external drive that will work with Time Machine. Is there a TB limit for TM in OS X Lion?

Welcome .  I have also used a 2TB WD My Book ext HDD for Time Machine backups for the past year and have had no problems.  They seem to get a  very bad wrap.  Perhaps we are a few of the lucky ones.  The two brands recommended by macjack are very, very good brands.

  • Is there a size limit to the file I can bring in?

I have a video file that I want to add to my project.  When I bring it in the whole video is not there.  Is there a limit on the size of the video file?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the system info, and thanks to Ed for clarifying. Sorry that I was not more clear.
As Ed says, "that isn't it," but it was worth a shot.
Now, however, we do know the cause. You have a DVD. As the .VOB files in a DVD-Video can ONLY be ~1GB in size, it is most likely that you only got part of the total tape in the .VOB that you ripped (the term for getting to the MPEG-2 file inside of a .VOB). It is very likely that the rest of the tape is on other .VOB files in the VIDEO_TS folder. This ARTICLE will give you more background into DVD-Videos and .VOB files.
As Steve (and that article) points out, many devices that burn DVD's can cause problems. Most are because they create a menuing system that is not DVD-spec. This can really mess up an editing program, when trying to work for those DVD-Videos.
There are, however, freeware programs that will both rip the MPEG-2 AV file from the .VOB's and will also "stitch" them together into one MPEG-2 file. I believe that the FAQ has the step-by-step process, including suggestions for other software to use. I'll post a link, when I have a second to go and search for it. [Edit] Steve posted the link to the FAQ in this thread already.
That said, If you have the VHS tape, the best method for getting that analog material into an editing program, like PrE, is to do an A-D Capture from the tape and bypass the DVD all together. It will be easier to edit, there will be no "stitching" of the VOB's and you also will have much higher quality, than from the heavily compressed MPEG-2 inside the VOB's. For that, one only needs the VHS deck, that you already have (I have a Panasonic VHS - DVD unit, but only use the DVD portion to archive from the VHS tapes - not to edit from), and an A-D bridge, like the Grass Valley/Canopus AD-110. It comes with software to do the Capture and you just save that Captured file as a DV-AVI Type II w/48KHz 16-bit Audio. That is the perfect format to edit in PrE.
Hope that this helps, and good luck,
    Hunt

  • Is there a size limit on Zip files.

    Hi,
I'm trying to archive a large amount of files. For example one folder is over 5GB. Is is it safe to zip a 5GB folder? Is there a limit to zip file sizes?

    Fiercehairdo wrote:

The limit is the same as the *OS file size limit*.
Although, it is safe, it is very slow to zip a 5Gb folder.

  • Is there a size limit for files you want to upload?

I'm trying to upload a file but it doesn't seem to work, it's 111 MB.

Can you try using the Send feature to do the file uploading and let us know if that works? You can use the Create Anonymous Link option, then click Create Link. This will upload your file to your Acrobat.com organizer. After uploading, you can turn off the sharing on the file if you want.

  • Is there a size limit for and .ics file that I can import?

I have made an .ics file to import into iCal that consists of about 8900 text lines containing my office schedule. It appears that only the first 1075 lines are imported. Is there a limit? If so, can I change it?
    Thank you for any help.

NeoOffice is not totally free. You can download it for free, but I had to switch my mom away from NeoOffice to LibreOffice because NeoOffice started nagging for payments to be able to download updates.
In fact NeoOffice is now in the Mac App Store for $9.99.

  • Is there a size limit for Photo Stream albums?

I have uploaded about 100 photos from my PC to Photo Stream. I would like to sort them into 3 albums on my iPhone, but it will only let me put a maximum of 7 photos in one of the albums and 4 in another. What am I doing wrong?

  • Is there a size limit for hard drive boot partition?

I have been using Drive Genius to adjust the size of my boot partition larger. But it doesn't seem to allow for much increase, even though I deleted the second partition and tried to apply the disk space to DH1: (boot - there is a single partition on the hard drive now.)
It recognizes only 59.53gb and the drive is I think around 130gb. Anything beyond 59.53 is unusable since I deleted that second partition though I could probably get it back with a second partition.
Is this a Tiger issue or a Mac issue? It resized it bigger somewhat, so it seems to be something about the particular size. I want a really big space for my applications and so on.
Thanks. Didn't know where to post this question.

You don't want to make a disc image. You want to clone to an external drive:
How to Clone Using Restore Option of Disk Utility
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (journaled, if available) and click on the Erase button. This step can be skipped if the destination has already been freshly erased.
    4. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    5. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the startup or source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Once you finish the clone open Startup Disk and set the clone as your startup volume, then click on the Restart button. You should now boot from the clone. You can then repartition the internal hard drive the way you want, then clone the external drive to the internal one.
