Is there a way I can cange the print on Adobe Reader. Can't see shadowed type!

How can I change the font on a program being presented on the computer using Adobe Reader. I would likely benefit if the lettering could be enlarged quite a bit. I notice the shadowed print, even here, appears blurry to me. Yes, I have impaired vision. I also havemagnification on my computer. But the magnification doesn't overcome the blurry appearance of the shadowed type. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. MissJR

Adobe Reader cannot modify fonts. Reader has its own magnifier (Zoom), and there are other Accessibility options - see http://helpx.adobe.com/reader/using/accessibility-features.html

Is there any way to speed up the printing from my Mac to my HP LaserJet?

I just bought an HP LaserJet Pro 400 M451dn and it works wonderfully and prints amazing quality but the only problem is it takes a VERY long time for my MacBook Pro to send the data to the printer. It's suppose to be up to 21ppm but I was literally getting 2ppm. Granted it was a rather detailed page I was printing, but 2ppm is still way to slow. Used the generic PCL driver printed way faster but only printed in Black and White.
Specifics
Mac OS X 10.7.5
HP LaserJet Pro 400 M541dn
USB connected (about 12 feet)
Downloaded lastest driver and firmware from HP's website
Tried generic PCL driver, prints waaaaaay faster but only in Black & White.
I download something called GutenPrint but I have no idea how to install. If thats a good option and someone has instructions I would greatly apreciate it.
I'm not a tech wiz, but I consider myself good with computers.

Gutenprint drivers are intended for non-laser printers. HP supplies the proper drivers, and you can download the latest version directly from HP's support site. Or you can install the most recent HP drivers provided by Apple.
Printing speeds do not include the time it may take to transfer data to the printer. It also doesn't take into account the time it takes for the printer to be prepared to start printing. Color is much slower than B/W.
Contact HP for any additional assistance you may need since these forums do not provide support for non-Apple products.

Is there a way to programmatically configure Firefox to use Adobe Reader within the Firefox Browser?

We have customers who are having difficulty saving their PDF files upon opening them from our web page because most of the time, they have "Use Adobe Reader (default)" set under Tools->Options->Applications. This causes the PDF file to be loaded into a standalone version of Adobe Reader where the Save icon is disabled.
We can suggest to our users that they change this to "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)", which will give them the desired behavior of loading the PDF in a Firefox window with the Acrobat plug-in's Save icon enabled.
However, we'd like to pro-actively change this configuration for our users via javascript if at all possible, so they don't have to go through the trouble of contacting us with the issue.
Is this possible?

I think that the built-in PDF Viewer only gets triggered with a specific MIME type (application/pdf) send by the server.

It's do-able, but I don't think it's a great idea.
DVI
Some users with DVI have managed to get their TV's to work with DVI-HDMI cables. DVI carries no audio, so alternative connections need to be explored to enable audio. DVI doesn't necessarily support HDCP as well as other standards used by HDMI (which may or may not be an issue)
Analogue
There are hardware converters that will convert HDMI to various other types of output, however there are some issues with doing so that you should be aware of.
HDCP
HDCP compliant converters will not allow you to watch HDCP protected content such as that from the iTunes Store. Non compliant converters exist but we cannot discuss them under the Terms of Use for these communities.
Resolution and aspect ratio
I'm not aware of any converters that will scale the output from the Apple TV, any TV or projector which is used will need to be widescreen and support resolutions of 720p (Apple TV 2), 720p/1080p (Apple TV 3)

The guts of my computer were rearranged and I got a new main hard drive. My old one is still in there and I can get stuff from it, but when I go to the Mozilla folder on the old one, I can't figure out if there's anything I can do to get all my bookmarks from that drive to my new one, where Firefox is newly installed.

If you open Firefox then Firefox will always use the default profile folder as found via profiles.ini on your system drive.
You either need to import the file in your current default profile or copy the file to your current profile folder while Firefox is closed.
Firefox 3 stores the bookmarks and the browser history in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/places.sqlite places.sqlite] and no longer creates an HTML backup by default.
There are also (five) JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder.
You can either copy the file places.sqlite to your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] or import the most recent JSON backup from the bookmarkbackups folder of that old profile.

Bought Used macbook pro, don't have administrator password and don't have the OS disc. Is there a way I can reset or delete the password?

I recently bought a used macbook pro. I can pretty much do everything I need on it until I want to change setting and such things. Then it asks me for an administrator password which I do not know or have. On top of that I do not have the OS disc either. Is there a way I can SAFELY reset or delete the password so I can set my own without the possibility of screwing thing up. LIke I said I can do most anything. I figured this out when attempting to tether it to my smartphone for internet access (I do all the time from my desktop but my desktop is a PC so things are a little different) I am a very new mac user, I have always been a devoted PC user until now. I have to say I am really loving my macbook pro I may just stick with mac from now on (if I can get this problem figured out without too much stress.

There actually is a slightly easier way in OS X 10.5 or greater.
1. Start up in single-user mode (hold Command-S as the computer starts up).
2. Type: mount -uw /
3. Press Return.
4. Type this:
passwd (user's short name)
Replace "(user's short name)" with the short name of the user account whose password you wish to reset. If you are not sure what the account name is, you can get a list of user names by typing: ls /Users
5. Press Return.
6. Enter a new user password.
7. Press Return.
8. Type: reboot
9. Press Return.

I accidentally created an iCloud account using the wrong email address for my username - I already have an iCloud account with a different email address username. Is there any way I can merge these accounts?

I just upgraded my MacBook from OS X 10.6.8 to Mountain Lion so that I could stream from my other devices (iPhone and iPad) to my MacBook. After making it through the upgrade process, I realized that I used the wrong email address for my iCloud username when starting up on the MacBook. My iPhone, iPad, and iTunes are under my Hotmail email address and I accidently used my Gmail email address for the MacBook. Is there any way I can merge these two icloud accounts together? I tried changing my account information to add the other email address, but wasn't allowed because another account was using the name (duh). If I can't merge them, how could I change the MacBook from the Gmail address to the Hotmail address so that all my devices are on the same icloud account? It'd be nice if I could keep the free 5GB of storage that comes with my purchase of the software, but I'd rather lose the storage than not be able to stream.

To change accounts on your Mac, go to System Preferences, sign out of the current account, then sign into the new account. When you sign out of the current account it will delete synced data from your Mac. Assuming your data (such as contacts, calendars, etc.) is in the other iCloud account, it will be synced to your Mac when you sign into this account.

Lojack for laptops - if that is the product you purchased and installed, you will need to read the user manual or contact the manufacturer as it is 3rd party. You did file a police report right?

No. iTunes will first erase everything from another computer. It is designed to work that way.

You can't transfer money between accounts. You can, however, gift items by clicking the arrow to the right of the price, which will achieve the same ends. It should work for everything except rentals.
