Is there a way of making my iPod's "cover flow" sort in the same way the software can . Artist -- Album by Year . It only seems to do Artist -- by Alphabetical Album . I want it look like it does on the PC .

Is there a way to make the "cover flow" on the iPod match the sort style that I use on the software . I go with Artist -- Album by Release Year . But the ipod seems to only do Artist -- Alphabetical by Album , and then there are a handful of albums oddly out of place . Can it be done ?

Ottonomy, here's what to do.
Connect your iPhone to your computer and open the iPhone's playlist in an iTunes window. Copy/Paste the entire playlist into a new(!) playlist in iTunes, not on your iPhone. Then resort the playlist. After you sort it, Copy/Paste it to a new(!) playlist on your iPhone. Now delete the old playlist on your iPhone and rename the new playlist the name you want it to be (probably the same name as the old playlist).
The downside to this method is that you have to do it every time you add a song to the playlist. Unfortunately, I don't think there's another way.

Ipod nano - cover flow sort order nano 5th gen

hi community,
i'm using different ipods (3rd gen, 4th gen, 5th gen, nano) and i love tagging my mp3s (artist, album, _but not_ album artist)
the sorting in cover flow for my ipod (3rd, 4th gen, touch, _but not 5th gen_) is fine for me: first regular albums then compilations.
with the nano 5th generation sorting is as follows: regular album + compilations mixed - base is artist name ( not fine for me ).
what i want is: first regular albums, than compilations (analogue ipod nano 4th). workaround for this should be: setting of album artist.
my question: do i have to setup my album artist for the desired sort order in nano 5th, and how will be the sort order in cover flow for the future? (e.g. nano 6th gen., + followers (because i don't want to reset my tags weeks later once again ....)

Hi Damon et al:
I agree with you that you shouldn't have to screw around with the file names. The iPod should allow you to sort in a variety of ways (e.g. any of the fields in the MP3 metadata, and in forward or reverse order). I'm going to keep checking back on this thread to see if more information comes out of it, but it looks to me like a flaw in the iPod OS, not a user-education issue.

Hi Matt, thanks for your reply. Have realised that Zoom in Iphoto is just a viewing tool and not an editing tool.
Was creating beautiful abstractions by zooming in and wanted to create a new image of the result. Have since discovered that cropping after zooming takes me a little way to where I want to go but it isn't the same effect. Will perhaps have to try to create it when actually shooting. Am doing a photoshop course in February and maybe will learn a bit more then, too. Am pretty much an amateur just finding my way.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

Periodically delete all apps from the recently-used bar (double clickHome button) and power off and then back on the iPod. With iOS 5, the iPod uses more memory (do not confuse with storage) and periodically you have to reclaim memory for use.

The purpose of iTunes match is to make your music library available to all of your devices anywhere. It will sync Playlists, but no other type of organization you may have made.

Want the mouse behave the same way as a tab key

I am using abap webdynpro. one of my requirements to automatically put the user in insert mode on numeric fields. That is when the user clicks in a numeric field we want the field to be highlighted. As soon as the user types something in the field we want the field to be cleared so that the user overwrites the data. Basically we want the mouse behave the same way as a tab key. highlight the field and clear it as soon as you start typing.
is this possible?

As mentioned this is not possible.
however, I would be wary of trying to overcome a standard functionality "deficiency " like this by implementing an island. If you take this path - all your custom applications will behave differently from the SAP standard ones - which is not really an ideal situation.
Instead, add your concern to the sticky at the top of this forum - the functionality to "clear" a field (or select all on field on entry which is what is happening with the tab selection) might be added in future releases.
I think however, that you'll find that the "select all on tab" behaviour is an browser "functionality" rather than anything specifically that SAP has implemented - if you try using a different browser, you may not find the same thing happening (although with the browsers I've checked it does).

This seems the only forum to write to. I have been unsuccessful in finding a channel to write to (email) Verizon Wireless directly and even through the Verizon Wireless Community. I have been a customer for 4-5 years. I updated my phone in August 2014 and wanted to keep my existing plan, since my usage would remain the same. NOW, my bill is 33% higher, I have been unable to comprehend my bill since it have been changed several times on one bill cycle. I called Customer Service on August 25, 2014 and talked to Mona for over 1.5 HOURS to understand what was going on with my account. She could not understand either, or offer an explanation. She stated she would file an IPR Case to get my old plan back. She stated she would get back to me in approximately one week. It is now September 25, 2014 and I am still waiting for resolution. Clearly I am a long term good standing customer. Not sure why I cannot get quality customer service and resolution in a timely manner. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!

There is no customer service email anymore. This is a customer forum, and sometimes reps might answer a question but it usually isn't immediately. If you need prompt assistance, you will need to call customer service, go to a corporate store, or live chat online. As fellow customers, someone might be able to help you sort things out with a bit more information, but have no access to your account at all.

If you say so...no one on the forums can see your account. Even if you do see a rep chime in on the discussion, they will need to direct message with you to get your account information. You can't include it in your post because that is against the terms of use for the forum. It is that way to protect all of us, as customers.
If your plan was changed in April, and it is a plan that is no longer available, you won't get it back. You have 14 days to restore your account when making a change like that, should you decide you don't like the new plan. The reps can send all the requests they want to, but you won't get that plan back.
Also, there is no need to shout. ALL CAPS IS NOT VERY PLEASANT TO READ, AND GIVES THE IMPRESSION OF YELLING.

I fixed the To: autofilling incorrectly by deleting my email address from the Previous Recipients List, but is there a way to stop that from coming up on emails that I receive?

Have you checked your Mac address book? If your email is saved somewhere in your address book with the name "Holidays in the United States" it might be adding the name automatically in Mac Mail.
Alternatively, try this:
Delete an Email Address from Auto-Complete in Mac OS X Mail
To remove an email address from the auto-complete list in Mac OS X Mail:
Start typing the recipient's address or name in a new message.
Select the desired address from the auto-complete list as if you'd compose an email to them.
Click the small down arrow in the recipient.
Select Remove from Previous Recipients List from the menu.
You can also search for the unwanted address directly in the previous recipients list:
Select Window | Previous Recipients from the menu in Mac OS X Mail.
Highlight the address you want to remove.You can highlight multiple addresses by holding down the Command key.
Click Remove from List.

Actually, there seems to be a bit of a bug. Encountered this with a couple of files my wife made. The files were set to "open with" the new Keynote, but clicking the file brought up this error. Right-clicking and selecting "open with..." worked correctly. I can only assume the OS was attempting to open the file with Keynote '09 despite the file property setting.
Probably requires a Launch Services DB reset (although I haven't actually tried it on my wife's MBA yet...since she's still "working on stuff". So I can't confirm if it will solve the problem).

If you want both iPad to be identical .....
Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
Now connect your iPad to your Mac and start iTunes.
When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases.
After it finishes transferring all your apps to the Mac, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
Sync the iPad and eject it when it is complete.
Quit iTunes
Connect the second iPad.
Launch iTunes
Right click on the iPad name on the left side and select - Restore from Backup
Select the backup of the first iPad and let it restore from that backup.
When it finishes restoring - sync with iTunes to transfer all of the apps and any other content that you want onto that iPad
Eject the iPad when you are done.
Check the second iPad and if all of the content did not sync as you wanted - or you want to remove some of the content - connect it again and then choose the content that you want - uncheck what you do not want - and click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.

You can achieve what you want like this:
select id from tableid where id in (350,241,251)
order by decode(id,350,1,241,2,251,3)in this example the decode explicitly defines the order you want to retrieve the records in.

Does the iPhone Remote control a Mac mini in the same way as ATV?

My ATV1 has packed in.
Rather than having my MBP switched on just to listen to music through a new ATV to my hifi I am thinking of using a Mac Mini in the same way as ATV1.
Does the iPhone Remote work with the Mini the same way as it does with the ATV or do you need to use a mouse and switch on the screen?

If intending to use the Mini s a home theater system,
you may want to consider getting Rowmote or Rowmote Pro
app for the iPhone and the companion app for the Mac.
Not only will you get Apple Remote functionality, but
you will also get trackpad and keyboard functionality
as well. This will make it even easier to navigate the
