Is there a way to create custom page numbering (ie 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, etc.)?

I have a document that needs special treatment for its page numbering. This is a two page spread that I need to have the same page number on facing pages. The page numbering would look like 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4 and so on. I have looked through the forums and all the help documentation I can find, and the only thing remotely related is doing a print merge of two documents - but this doesn't solve my need to have the numbering scenario in the actual document. Is there a way to create a macro or script that I can add to the master pages that can calculate the correct page number? This is an Instructor's Guide that is well over 300 pages so I'm looking for some way to automate the process.

Just if I understood your need correctly... Automatic Page Number shows the number of the page, where center of its text frame lies. The actual number may be on other page. Please see attached screenshots:

Is there a way to have the page numbering always on top?

I have a master page that has the page numbering on it, but have run into a problem. Some of the pages have PDF images that fill the page and when they're placed on the page, the page numbers are covered. On the Master Page, or the page itself, is there a way to set the page numbering to always be on top and not hidden?

Open the layer panel and make a new layer.
Go to the master page containing the auto page number. Select it. Drag the little icon in the layers panel to the top layer.
Lock the layer so you can’t accidentally place anything else there.
The numbers will always be above anything else in the document.

Is there a way to create custom instrument icons in GarageBand '09?

Hello everyone!
I am just curious if any of you might know a way to create custom instrument/track icons in GarageBand (I show an example of what I mean below)? For instance, Let's say one of the guitar tracks I've recorded was done with a Flying V and I'd like to reflect that in the instrument icon. Is that possible? If so, I'd love to know how I know it's nothing mega-important, and doesn't affect my recordings in any way, but is a great visual cue as to what that track might contain. Apple has given us some great default choices but it would be nice if we could use some of our own PNG files for this purpose too!

Is there a way to create mutiple page forms in Acrobat that store 1 record per page?

Basically, I'm creating a form, that I would like to make notes on each page individually. I am running into an issue however, since the name of the fields are the same throughout the whole document. Is there a way for Acrobat to treat each page as an individual record, so I can track this data throughout the whole thing? Is my only alternative to resort to Javascript to change these names in acrobat? On the front end, I'm designing the form in InDesign, and then exporting to acrobat.

In Acrobat, a page can be made a template, which is really nothing more than a page that has been given a name. With JavaScript, you can spawn a template page to create a new one, and any fields a template page has can be automatically renamed when spawned (following a particular convention) so that each page's fields are independent from those on other pages. Note that JavaScript is not able to change a field's name, but it can create and remove fields.

I have recently switched to Mac. Before this I was using Linux. For mail I used Thunderbird (TB) for many years, and then eventually switched to Evolution Mail (EM) for its smoother integration into Linux.
On both TB and EM I revolved my work flow around custom folder views. As new email came in I would label it (on EM, or tag it on TB). I have numerous inboxes (email accounts) so I would generally be starting out in a smart folder that displays all mail in each inbox. I would most of the time view that smart folder with a Custom View filter in place. The filter would simply display ONLY mail with NO tags/labels.
Once my filter inbox showed NO messages it meant I had labeled everything. I would them use other smart folders to display mail with certain labels AND NO "Completed" label. That way I could go to my "Reply ASAP" folder and see what needed my immediate attention. Each email I replied to I would then add the label COMPLETED and it would vanish from my view.
I explain the above in case someone has specific suggestions on how to achieve a similar workflow on Mail.
In short, what I am wondering is this:
- Is there a built in way to filter a folder on the spot (with a drop down list of predefined and custom Views) --- I have looked and so far did not find this feature
- Is there a way to do this with a script or add-on? I have looked at many and not found a suitable one yet.
I am appealing to the knowledge of those with more experience in Mail. It is new to me.
I am currently using TB on my Mac because it gives me the above feature. BUT it does not have the same degree of integration with the OS and other Mac specific apps that Mail has. Thus I am keen to stick with Mail.

In addition to above:
I have installed a trial of Mailtags. It certainly improves the tagging capability of Mail.
I have also looked at the Smart Mailboxes and Smart Mailbox Folders.
As far as I can tell, however, there is no option to set up a smart mailbox that ONLY shows message with NO LABEL or NO MAILTAG (as the case may be). I can display messages with particular TAGS but not NO tags.
Is there any way to add more options to the Smart Mailbox filter system?

Is there a way to create customer smart controls?

I use Mainstage to play worship music in a few different church venues and love the flexibility that Mainstage brings. I'm using an external instrument, Omnisphere on my Akai MPK88. I have each channel mapped to sliders on my keyboard, which is great for Omnisphere, however, if I want to switch insturments, for example to the Hammond B3, I would like be able to use the new smart controls feature and be able to see the controls for this instrument. Is there a way to keep my sliders on screen for Omnisphere, but have them change when I am using a native patch? Right now, the controls just get greyed out and go dead. Thanks!

You can pick any Smartcontrol for any patch, but you can not create your own Smartcontrol from scratch.

Is there a way to show actual page numbers on the PDF when exported?

I would like for the page numbers to shown at the bottom of the page when I export my form as a PDF. The actual page number - not the logical page. Is there a way to do this?

Hi, I have different sections within my document starting the page numbering at 1. Besides the section page numbers I would also like to display the actual document page numbers in the header (eg. you are on page 10 of the document and page 4 of the section). Is there any way to do that? Thanks

Is there any way I can "Move" Pages, Numbers, and Keynote from my Mac to my iPad?

I just got an iPad, and I plan to sell my Mac... So my question is, can i move products I paid for from my Mac to my iPad? The only ones I want to move are Pages, Numbers and Keynote. If there is a way, please let me know.

Applications for your Mac are coded for the operating system on the Mac which is OS X.
Applications for the iPad must be coded for the operating system on the iPad which is iOS.
Hence the applications for the Mac will not work on the iPad.

Is there a way to create custom clientlibs that only apply to a specific app?

for example, i'd like to add some custom widgets specific to a custom application, say apps/mycustom1, but i don't want these custom widgets available for my other custom application, say apps/mycustom2. this is because i plan to have a www.mycustom1.com and www.mycustom2.com. from what i've read so far, you can add your own custom clientlib widget by adding to the categories "cq.widgets". but if i do this, my custom widget will show up for mycustom1 and mycustom2 apps.
on a somewhat related note, i've found that the following online doc: http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/developing/components/clientlibs.html, regarding overriding libraries in /libs, does not work. i've tried creating my own apps/cq/ui/widgets clientlib, but all it did was include my apps/cq/ui/widgets clientlib along with the libs/cq/ui/widgets clientlib. I have the clientlib set up the same way as the cq widgets clientlib and tried overriding the js.txt, but when loading my page, it pulls down both widgets.js in apps and libs. are the docs incorrect here?

I'm trying to do things "out of the box", which means i'm trying to reuse the existing clientlibs. this means i'm making use of wcm/core/components/init/init.jsp, which includes the "cq.wcm.edit" clientlib. i believe the easiest way for me to do this is for me to create a "custom.wcm.edit" category which will include my "mycustom1.widgets" along with "cq.widgets", but then this forces me to copy/paste the entire init.jsp into my apps folder. i was hoping for a better way than to have to copy the entire init.jsp just to change up the specific categories used for a specific app.
as for your question, i got down this path as i was trying to add my own custom placeholders to display in edit mode as i've created my own custom components. but with what i've read online, the way to do it is just to add to "cq.widgets" with my own widgets clientlibs, which would make it available to all apps in the system.

Is There A Way To Create Custom Presets For Sharing/Exporting?

First-time iMovie users, long-time Mac enthusiast.
VERY impressed with how easy this wonderful application is to learn, but the inability to save custom presets exporting to Quicktime is puzzling.
iMovie6 does remember the settings I specified in "Expert Settings", but it'd be great to save it as "canned preset" that would show up w/all the other ones (Email, CD-Rom, Web, etc).
Is this just another feature I've yet to discover, or is it possible at all? Or is it the first roadblock I've encountered where extra ca$h is needed for another product?

You can't create new decorations, but you can import vectoric images (from Office, for example) and use them as decorations (although you can't control their color).

Creating a iBook of my Graphic novel, and instead of adding a page at a time, is there a way to create 100+ pages and THEN import the artwork, as opposed to creating a page a time?

Make a 100 page chapter, w/images in Pages or Word, then import and rework as needed.
If it's just graphics page-by-page, tho, I would stick w/Pages & calibre to create a standard epub and not bother w/iBA.

Is there a way to create a custom screensaver with pics/slides that display for different amounts of time? Or even add a "video slide" into the screensaver?
My business has 3 TVs displayed in our lobby, each with its own apple TV and they are all linked to the same photo stream. Currently the Atv screensaver displays the photostream pictures of our products for the default 3 seconds. We just added pics/slides that now display messages and useful info for our customers but I want that info to be displayed for a longer period of time than the pictures to give people a chance to read it.
I tried using flickr and powerpoint as a work around but no luck. I created a slide in powerpoint with play length of 15 secs and saved it as a wmv file. I added that file to a "screensaver" set in flickr and pointed the Atv screensaver to that flickr set. It still displays everything, pics and the wmv file at the default 3 sec.
I know I can increase the duration of all pics in the screensaver to display for longer but the goal is to have the pics display at 3 secs and the info slides to display at 15 secs.
