is there a way to download any of the new effects that have come out in the newer versions of iMovie??? i have iMovieHD... (and if you know this as well, is there any way to download new themes for iDVD???)

Up until iMovie HD 6 you could get plug-ins to do things that iMovie didn't do outside the box. There are two companies I know of selling iMovie plugins:

Can I get any exact SAP note which states that adding new barcodes is not currently possible..

Is there a way to download PAGES 4 for MAC OS? Pages 5 is missing too many features I need!

Is there any way to get the prior version of Pages (4x) for MAC? So many critical features are missing now I cannot use Pages any longer unless I can get the old version?

With Mavericks the answer is maybe. It really depends on whether they ship a disc with Pages 4.0 or Pages 4.3. It is hard to figure out which one is the one that you will actually receive. If you have a virtual machine and purchased these from the Mac App store then if you run Mountain Lion you should be able to download them again on that system. This is the method I used to re-install.
I'm lucky in that I have the retail version of iWork 09. I re-installed it using the following method.
1. Reinstall from DVD. This installed a version that is too out of date to run on Mavericks so I had to do step 2.
2. Ran a virtual machine with Mountain Lion, installed iWork 09, ran software update and copied the latest versions over to my main machine. This works and now I have iWork 09 back on my machine. Hopefully Apple can fix this latest iWork and bring it back to feature parity with iWork 09.

I want to be able to make custom tones for receiving text messages and emails... Blackberries can do this and I would like to be able to have my Iphone do this also.

There was a large gap in data where the first iPhone didn’t backup when I thought it had. I have SMS data on both phonesnow and I need them for a court hearing. I have since had the other iPhone repaired and working perfectly. Will downloading a backup wipe out the newer SMS data? No, direct access to manipulating the phone's filesystem is not permitted for 3rd party apps in the iOS. It can't be done without hacking the phone, which you certainly don't want to do. The messages can be combined and viewed on your computer, but not on a single phone.

If you would like you can your boot your computer into recovery mode using Command+R There you can select re-download it from the internet. You will not have any of your old data on your new computer, but that is because you replaced your hard drive. So if you would like your old data to be there on your new computer I would recommend to back up your old hard drive to Time machine then Boot it into recovery using Command+R and click on restore with Time machine. Once that has completed successfully you not only should have 10.6 But you will also have all of your data from your old computer.

Im having that same problem, i have a windows formated ipod and i want to move all the music to my new macbook. and like you i want to do it from my ipod, not networking the comps together. im a bit worried though about using some of these "programs" that say they can do that, since apple seems to be against taking it straight from the ipod.

you can restore from your backup again just to get the notes. once you've restored from the backup, copy your notes into your icloud notes group or email them to yourself - basically, get them somewhere else so they're not just locally stored on the device. once you've moved your notes elsewhere, restore the device as new again like apple had you do. this will again put a fresh version of the operating system on your phone like it has right now

What you can do to upgrade will depend upon your computer and software you run. You'll have to do another restore from the old phone backup. But before doing that, tell us what was not restored. For example is it just photos that didn't get restored? If so, that seems to be a common problem for many users, judging by the posts left in the forum. There doesn't seem to be a solution to that problem (other then to tell users to ALWAYS sync photos to a computer and never trust an iCloud backup/restore to save photos.

If you’ve already purchased the new iWork apps in Mavericks, you can use this trick to get Pages 4.3. If you still have access to a Mac running Mountain Lion. It must be Mountain Lion or Lion. Snow Leopard won't work. If the iWork '09 apps are installed, compress them & delete the originals. Launch the Mac App Store & click on the 'install' buttons under the iWork apps. You will get a message that you can't install the new version on this Mac but it will offer to download the previous version for you. Voilá, you have the self-contained apps that you can copy to another Mac.
