[End of sequence]I still thing this is a bit of an overkill, but I will use it as a last resort in order to substitute the built-in parser so I can collect all the errors of an XML source in one go.
Is there a way to obtain the same information from the XDB registry where my schemas will reside ? If yes, I will gladly substitute this Java class with whatever your suggestion is :)
If not, I intend to store the extracted information in suitably constructed database tables and use a PL/SQL procedure to do the validation by traversing the table information accordingly (XPath by XPath) collecting the errors as I traverse the XML. Hopefully, due to the XPaths being very targeted towards the information that will be checked, I will avoid the DOM memory tree overhead.
Finally, if I follow the path I described, is there a way to put some sort of trigger for the cases of copyEvolve(), inPlaceEvolve() and drop-and-reinsert so that my process will be called again for the new data ?
Apologies for the lengthy code and result set.

PS: I did not include the XSD file itself because it includes another four XSDs. If needed I will do it in a reply post though ...

Good morning Marco,
I am back at the office today, so I am trying to catch up with everything.
If I remember though, RESOURCE_VIEW and PATH_VIEW are related to the "exploration" of the XDB registry (but I may very well be wrong !).
What I want is to retrieve schema information (if XDB actually shreds the XML schema on registration) like elements paths, simple and complex type contents, sequence information, particle occurence information, groups and group declarations etc.
I think it makes sense that Oracle stores these somewhere, since it uses the information on OR storage to generate types and tables anyway ;) That is of course if the whole OR shredding is not done totally on-the-fly...
I managed to get clearance to release partial information about some of the schemas and their related documentation, so I will be passing them to you and Mark through private emails (of course) in order to give you a clearer understanding of the whole project.
Just give me a day to write a few pages that explain how the whole operation is performed.
Best Regards
Philip

is there a way to extract data from one of e.g. 7 rows from the multicolumn listbox?

All the data can be extracted by creating a property node and read the Item Names property...then you get a 2D array of all the rows and columns. Wire that array into an index array function and input the row you want (e.g. the listbox value, if you want the row currently selected...)...that's it. See attached example.

  • Is there any way to EXTRACT subtitles from a DVD?

Is there any way to EXTRACT subtitles from a DVD? My ultimate goal is to convert an existing DVD into a flash file for web use. It has subtitles which I want to retain. I have tried pulling the DVD files (.VOB) and encoding them to .wmv.
I was thinking perhaps I could import the DVD into Premiere, Encore, etc. I am able to pull the DVD video files off but the subtitles track/file is NOWHERE to be found.
    Any ideas?

You cannot do this with Adobe tools. The subtitles are a separate image stream inside the vob.
As with any third party or Adobe tools, I assume you are using them for legal purposes.
Try the following link for a description of a process used. I have not used this tool. It is one of many, but I thought the description was useful.
    http://www.booki.cc/avidemux/extract-dvd-subtitles/
The easier way to do this is to get the subtitle file from the creator. However, many DVDs are created using a script image file, the person authoring the disk may not have a text file of the subtitles, and I don't think you can use an image subtitle file for flash subtitles.

Yes - but - you need an app that supports file sharing and you still need iTunes on a computer, or you need an app like Folder Plus that lets you mount the iPad like a USB drive. You need the helper app on the computer as well.

  • Is there a way to retrieve information from a damaged computer?

My 2009 MacBook Pro froze last night and when I went to restart it, was apparently damaged and now won't work. It is stuck on a grey loading screen with the Apple logo and turns off after about a minute of that. I have tried safe-rebooting, rebooting, everything I could find on it. I don't know whether it can actually be fixed or not, but my question is: if I bring it to a professional at Apple or someone along those lines, is there a way I can get the information with my files, photos, documents - stuff like that - onto my eventual new computer? Thanks in advance.

    SabrineOceana,
to supplement OGELTHORPE’s suggestion, another possibility (if you have access to a FireWire cable and a second Mac with a FireWire port) would be to boot your MacBook Pro into Target Disk mode, to have it be treated as an external disk by the second MacBook Pro. You could try copying your personal files from your MacBook Pro to the second Mac in that way. You might also be able to run Disk Utility on the second Mac against your MacBook Pro’s internal disk, to see if the Repair Disk button woudl be available that way.

  • Is there a way to extract iMessages from Mac to PDF or .txt format?

I've been searching the net but to no avail. All results point to backing up/extracting iMessages from iDevices other than a Mac. I'm going to change my Apple ID and I want to at least have a copy of the previous convos I had if PDF or .txt format. Thanks in advance!

    HI,
If you have the Save on Close  option enabled in Messages > Preferences > Messages then all Chats and conversations are saved.
They can be recalled any time.
    1) In the Messages app the File Menu > Recent Items will list the last X number of chats.
X is the number set in System Preferences > General pane about the number of Documents, Applications and Servers shown in such lists.
    2) old migrated iChat Saved chats are in Your Home Folder/Documents/iChats
    3) New Saves are in your Home Folder/Library/Messages/Archive although this Library is Hidden.
In th Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder and type ~/Library/Messages into the dialogue box that appears.
I have 10 non iMessages accounts as well as  my iMessages account logged in when I am on line.
I can call up any of the last Chats shown in Recent Items no matter which account they came from  (different Screen Name or Jabber IDs or even Bonjour chats)
I have not actually changed my iMessages ID to check but the app will continue to save to the same Folder and it should be able to retrieve recent ones.
Visiting the folder and double clicking an older chat tends to launch it in a new window separate from the Messages Window itself (no Side bar no, Text field at the bottom, no "To" spot).

  • Is there a way of shifting purchases from one account to another with the same billing information, so that I don't lose purchases made by my iPhone when I sync?

The AOL address I was using for my iTunes account has been deleted due to me not signing in for awhile and I'm afraid that I will lose all of my purchases made from my iphone when I sync it into iTunes for a much needed update and so that I can (hopefully) transfer its data to my new iPhone 4...
The only time I have synced my current iPhone was when I activated it but since then I have not been able to sync with my computer and now have a new one.
Sorry about the garbled way this is written but I desperately need help:
1, Is there a way of shifting purchases from one account to another with the same billing information?
    Or
2, is there a way of recovering my old account and changing the details?
Any other help is greatly appreciated
    Thom

You don't need to access your e-mail account, just get into your Apple account and change the e-mail address. If you can't access your Apple account, then you have a bigger issue to contend with.

  • Is there a way to extract ALL my music from my ipod touch 1st gen?

My ipod touch has been really gritty and slow the past few months and im planning in getting a new touch. But ive manually installed music onto it from random computers but i want keep my recent music. I have around 2,000 songs.
So is there a way to extract all that? I dont really care about my videos, apps, or pic's.
    Im running on windows.

iTunes will only give you the option to copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
Purchased applications can be downloaded over again, see this article for details: How to redownload purchased applications from the App Store
For everything else (music from CDs etc.) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod Touch or iPhone. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer data (such as playcounts and ratings), movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well.

  • Extracting information from a table based on different criteria

    Post Author: shineysideup
    CA Forum: Formula
    Hi Folks
I have a bit of a strange one here.
I need to extract information from a single table based on different critera.
Sounds simple enough but here's the tricky part.
This table is a table that contains the build of a product. All the parts that are used to make the product and also the sub-parts that are used to make the primary product parts.
    Example:
I have a part that is in the product and the part no is 1111. This part is actually part of another part that is part no 1112
What I need to do is display part no 1111 with all of its details but then also show that it is also part of part no 1112.
The way the table holds this information is as follows.
    Seq_No      Parent_Seq_No     Part_No
The seq_no is item no that is given to the part number. If the part is a member of another part then there is also a parent_seq_no.
Everything needs to tie back to the seq_no and the parent_seq no as the part itself can be used in a parent or it can be used on its own. This way you can actually have the same part appearing in the list several times but the seq_no will be different for each one. If the part can be used in two different sub-builds (with each part being used twice in each sub-build) and also on its own once then you would have 5 different seq_nos two parent_seq_nos.
What I need to do is to list all of the parts but then also when a part is part of a parent_seq_no I need to be able to display the parent seqno but also the part_no for that as the parent would also be listed as an individual item in the part list.
At the moment listing the part_no, seq_no and parent_seq_no is easy but when I try to list the part_no for the parent I jsut keep getting the original sub part again. I can do this with a sub-report but with what I need to do with the data after listing the parts a sub-report is not an option for me.
    This make sense?
    Thanks

As long as the chain only goes one link deep, you should be able to Alias the table and link it (left outer)  from the child part to the parent part.  Then build a Detail B (or Group Footer if that's where you're printing) and conditionally suppress is if there is no "Parent Part".

If you are on a Mac, you can use File Juicer to extract image files from just about anything.
Next time you post, please give more specific details.
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand, such as your platform (Mac or Win), exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge, machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, video card specs, including total VRAM installed, what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far, what error message(s) you receive, if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them, etc., someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster).
A screen shot could be very helpful too.

  • Is there a way to move music from my Iphone 3gs to the Itunes on my computer without deleting it?

Is there a way to move music from my Iphoe 3GS to the Itunes on my Windows 7 laptop? The hard drive of the laptop had been corrupted so it was replaced which makes the computer now register as being a new one alltogether.

If you still have the old drive you (or a helpful friend) may be able put it in an external drive bay and extract your iTunes library and other personal data from it. Otherwise see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • Is there a way to "deauthorise" computers from your apple ID without having access to those computers?

Is there a way to "deauthorise" computers from your apple ID without having access to those computers?

    Hi there ellou86!
I have an article here for you that can help you with this question:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
Specifically, it seems that this is the portion of the article that is most relevant to your question:
To deauthorize all computers associated with your Apple ID
If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than two authorized computers. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/).
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,
    Braden

It sounds like it still has her information on it, so it might be efficient to navigate to Settings, then General, then Reset, then Erase All Content and Settings. You can then set up the phone again, using your information. This way the phone will be yours, officially, and her data and information will be removed.
