Is there a way to find my iPhone 4s if I did not install the find my iPhone app?
The app has nothing to do with this. The app allows someone to locate their iOS device with your iOS device.
Now, what if he had the app installed, and someone else did too, by what you're saying, he could then track his iPhone using theirs.
So the app actually has some bearing, not much, but it's there. I was merely stating that without either the app, or iCloud, then no, he cannot track it. But he can use iCloud because he possibly has Find My iPhone activated.
Now, why don't we both be good little children, shake hands, wander off, and try to help some people rather than argue with eachother for no apparent reason?

You can only track it if you turned on Settings > iCloud > Find My before it was lost/stolen, and then registered it in iCloud's Find My Phone service. You must then log in to iCloud, click Find My Phone and see if it shows up. If it is turned off, not connected to the internet or been reset to factory condiditon it will not show up. There is no way to track it except in that way.
Report it to the police, insurance and cell provider in case the will blacklist the iPhone so it cannot be used.
Change your passwords for accounts on the iPhone. -

Unfortunately if you did not set up 'Find My iPhone', there is no way to remotely track or wipe the device.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.
If the device is wiped by you or another, you may not be able to locate the device (although some have reported they can) -

Thank you for all the answers to my query. I had been using the same account on both phone and iPad, but did not make the difference. It said it was compatible with iPad. I just ended up having to pay for it on it as well. Sorry for taking so long to reply.

I lost my I phone but did not have Icloud on it or the find my I phone App...Is there any way to locate the phone without these apps? One would think if location services are on the phone it could be found by GPS from verizon? Any suggestions?
The only way to track is from Find my iPhone. Sorry. All Verizon can do is possibly block it by IMEI so others cannot use it.

Is there a way to link to a pdf in a iframe and have the find box removed?
Hello folks...
We are working on a transcription process and would like to have the pdf in an iframe. The problem is that in order to make this as quick as possible for the transcriber, the iframe needs to be as small as possible. The find box comes up and takes up a lot of room. Is there a way to turn that off automatically in the iframe source? Kind of like "zoom=100" but perhaps find=off or something like that. The find is actually pointless anyway since there is no text on the pdfs.
And what about the navigation panel on the left as well (not as big an issue)?

No, you cannot track it.
