Is there a way to have two hosts, not clustered, share an ssh identity?

I'm using Data Guard to replicate Oracle Databases between two Solaris 10 servers. They aren't clustered at the OS level but if we invoke DR the standby server is promoted to production and vice versa.
Along with the databases, I also have application processes which ssh to the server.
In the past I've worked on VCS environments where we've configured the two nodes to share the same ssh fingerprint so that when the clusters failed over, ssh users would not be prompted about a changed identity when connecting... but in those environments VCS meant a shared IP and clustered hostname floated between the two.
Is there a way to do something similar with my non-clustered, related servers now so that a DNS alias can be used to direct ssh connections to whichever server Oracle is active on without the users being prompted (or even aware)?

PS - not asking for anybody to do my work here; just an idea if it's possible and a pointer in the right direction so I can go figure this out.

Okay, I got an answer to this:
1 - copy the contents of /etc/ssh from the primary server to secondary and restart ssh
2 - use a DNS alias to switch between the two. The first time with the new alias I'll need to add the host to the known_hosts file but after that the hostnames and identities will be the same so I won't even after failover.

Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, PrE will not allow two Projects to be open at the same time. It will also not allow multiple instances of PrE to be open.
The workaround, to accomplish what you describe, is to use a ClipBoard Extender, such as ClipMate, which will allow one to Copy a Timeline, or parts of it, from one Project, then Close that one, to Open another one, and Paste the material, that was Copied. Many users employee ClipMate, or similar, to Copy/Paste material from one Project, to another.

You're confusing icloud and itunes store accounts. Individual users should have their own icloud accounts (using their Apple ID) but multiple users can share the same ID for logging into the itunes store account.

Yes you can copy the content to your new machine and use Home Sharing to keep the content identical
Connect the two machines via an ethernet cable it is 3 times faster than Wifi. Turn wifi off on one machine to enforce ethernet connection
In System Preferences, Sharing turn on File Sharing
Then
Copy the music/itunes folder from the Macbook pro to the music/ folder on the imac
Both machines should now have the same library
Disconnect H the ethernet cable
Set up Home Sharing and under Settings at the bottom of the Home Sharing page. Select to transfer new purchases.
Do the same on the other machine.
Then when you r machines are connected by wifi and each time you start itunes it will transfer your new purchases

Is there a way to have two different iTunes for two different iPhones on one Windows User account?

I've read as many threads on these forums and as many kb's as I could find, but I sttill can't figure it out. I have 2 iPhones. Let's call them, "wife" and "hubby". I want to have two separate iTunes, one for each of the phones. Hubby is the Windoows User. I don't want to set up a different Windows User for wife.
Hubby was the original iPhone. When I plug it in, iTunes recognized it has Hubby's iPhone. Then I unplug Hubby and close iTunes. I plug in Wife but iTunes stll comes up with Hubby under Devices and syncs Hubby's iTunes to Wife's iphone.
I've tried using the shift key when I open iTunes to set up two separate .itl files to no avail.
Is there a way to have two different iTunes for two different iPhones on one Windows User account?

What happens if you rename the iPhone "Wife" when it shows up as "Hubby", then choose a different set of apps/playlists to sync with? iTunes is supposed to be able to manage multiple devices, each with their own selection of content. Perhaps you "restored" "Wife" with a backup from "Hubby" when you first set things up which is now causing confusion.
To create a new library press and hold down the shift key as you click the icon to start iTunes and keep holding shift until asked to choose or create a library. You need to use the same technique to switch back.

I want to have some music files on my computer and a larger collection of songs with cover art on a shared CloudBox (NAS server) so that also my family members can listen to the music on the Cloudbox. Is there a way to do this?
I know I could just copy the music files to the CloudBox, but that way only the songs are shared, not the cover art. I could also just keep the files on my computer and share the library via home sharing, but that way my computer would have to be always on. So is there a way to have a shared library on the cloudbox that works regardless of my computer being on or not?

My wife and I both have iphones and we have a Mac. Is there a way to seperate what goes where as far as contacts, podcasts, etc? Everytime she syncs her phone on itunes, all my podcasts get changed/erased and I have to re download them. Also, my daughter, who has an ipod touch can change my contacts, i.e. delete them. Are you sharing one AppleID or do you have separate IDs?
If you have separate AppleIDs, then it's easiest to create a user account for each of you on the computer, and log into iTunes with your respective IDs on each account. This will keep everything separate. There is no problem authorizing content for multiple AppleIDs on the same computer.
HOWEVER, you can only re-download, auto-download, or use Match for one AppleID *per computer* (not per account), and this can only change every 90 days.
If you share an AppleID, then in principle, you can sync both devices to the same user account, but it's difficult to separate contact lists, so it's still easiest to have two user accounts, even if you use the same AppleID on each. This will allow you have separate contact and calendar lists; however, you will NOT have the option of syncing them to the cloud (make sure to turn this option OFF), as having a single AppleID would cause them to merge.

I use my Mac with Adobe Creative Suite (3) to make files (jpeg) that are formatted for cell phones to make animated and static wallpapers for phones to make a profit and i got a new printer because my old printer broke. on my old printer it would show on the desktop or in the finder sidebar as "epson17401..." I could put a micro SD in the printer and put files on there and take it out and put it into the phone with no problems with no problem. Now with this printer (Canon Pixma MX870) when i try to put the same kind of files on the micro SD memory card via printer it asks for a admin password. So i used to put files on daily but i can't ask the IT person EVERY time i want to put a file on. So my question is in parents controls is there a way to say that it is okay to put files to that drive without the need for a password?

I think parental controls only restricts. It doesn't grant additional privileges that weren't already there.
While logged in as an admin, check the permissions on the SD drive and all folders inside it. Make sure they are all set to give everyone read and write permission. Then try it again as an unprivileged user.

Is there a way to have two fields hidden from the user but active for the person receiving the form?

I have an order form where there are two fields that the original form filler does not fill out. The person who finally receives and processes the completed form needs to fill in those two fields. I'm not sure how to handle this. Any help would be appreciated.

My suggestion is a folder level script, that controls the visibility of form objects.
Only if this script is installed the fields will be visible.
You need three things for this.
1. The folder level script that has to be installed in the javascript folder of Acrobat or Reader:

I am trying to use an ipad mini and iphone. they both have sim cards with different numbers and I am getting the facetime calls on both devices as well seeing iMessage on both devices. But when i try to send a text out from the ipad it doesn't seem to go. I always get the fail to send message.

So it turns out that I was trying to do something that isn't allowed by Apple. I was assuming, incorrectly it seems, that because the ipad had it's own sim card that I could text anyone. But you can only use the iMessage. The sim card is just for connectivity. So it is all good with my iPad and all is working the way it should.
