Is there a way to install just the 32 bit version of Photoshop CS5 on a Windows 7 64 bit machine?

I have a custom built Java 6 application that doesn't like Photoshop CS5 64 bit edition. The program copies over a file from the network to the local machine and then opens it in Photoshop. The user manipulates the image and saves the changes. The user then completes the image and the application copies the image back to the server. The problem we're having is: When we use Photoshop CS5 64-bit, it takes about 2 minutes for Photoshop to open the image. The file is copied over within 2 seconds and the Photoshop icon on the windows taskbar starts flashing. But then you spend a few minutes waiting for it to open.
Some things that I have tried to isolate the problem:
- I found you can copy the file somewhere else, double click on it and the image will open in Photoshop before the script is able to open the file.
- I tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling just the 64 bit edition without the 32 bit installation. The script just stops working in this situation.
- I tried uninstalling CS5 and installing CS3. The image opens as soon as the file is copied over.
What I would like to try next is to install just the CS5 32 bit version. But the installer is being uncooperative and will only allow either the 64 bit version or both the 64 and 32 bit versions. So, back to my question: Is there a way to install just the 32 bit version of Photoshop CS5 on a Windows 7 64 bit machine?

Do you mean schroot? If so I'm not sure exactly how well that will work out, because the part that depends on python is a deamon that handles communication between the USB dongle and the Tux Droid which may mean hacking the deamon a bit so ether way this does not seem like it will be a easy task.

Multiple desktops and dual screens really aren't meant to work together. Apple came up with this multiple desltops feature and never really thought about users that use a dual monitor setup. So use either multiple desktops OR dual monitors but not both. Also don't try to use any App in Full Screen Mode as that doesn't work with dual screen setups either.

However every time I upload a completed PDF it only converts the format and doesn’t capture any of the fields’ typed information. I thought that was why I named each field something when creating the form.

ExportPDF is just a convertion tool, it is not meant for extracting information out of the form.

You can view tracks in a given format by selecting to show the Kind column. If you mean you want to determine which specific MP3 tracks you have that were converted by iTunes as opposed to being imported in MP3 format, Get Info on a track and look at the "encoded with" field.

I am recording the Arpeggios from my Motif rack ES into Logic Pro 7.2 in midi format but when I try to do this, the notes that I play on the keyboard also get recorded along with the arpeggios? Is there a way to record just what's coming out of the midi out (of motif rack es) and not the keys that you are pressing to kick off the arpeggio?

Either check your Motif's owners manual to see if you can disable the keys or make sure the keys are out of the arpeggio's range and use a transform object in the environment to filter out the unwanted notes.

In word there is a tool in which you select a paragraph and you can capitalize the first word of each sentence.

The previous major version of Pages (Pages '09 version 4.3) could automatically capitalize the first word of each sentence as you typed. That capability and a number of others was lost with the release of Pages v 5. You may still have the older version available in your Applications folder. You may also want to switch to Word or Open Office (free), both of which will likely be more familiar if you have worked with Word before.

If you have set up a masked area and you want to render a video with a transparent background simply add your composition to the render queue. In the output module click on the down arrow and select lossless with Alpha as your output format. This will render a digital intermediate with an alpha channel useful in your nonlinear editor or in After Effects.
Media players such as QuickTime or Windows media player will not recognize the alpha channel. If you are planning to put a transparent video on the webpage for example, this will not work because the Web does not support transparent backgrounds in video.

I really hate the new podcast app version 1.2.1. There has to be a way to revert to the previous version. Don't know why Apple doesn't offer it's users the option of staying with the version that we prefer. We're asked to update without knowing if we'll like the new version. No trial period - just take a chance. I did, and I regret it. I will never click on an update again. I went from loving Apple to hating them overnight.

Thanks for the response. Not sure if it's backed up, and not sure how to locate if it is. I downloaded the update directly onto ipod touch - and when I re-synched apps from itunes library to try to install previous ver. it changed to the new podcast ver. 1.2.1. Several moths ago I reverted to an older v. of itunes library(10.0?) through a folder called "previous itunes libraries" in my itunes folder - but I don't remember what I did - someone instructed me. Any chance of that containing older podcast v?

In order to save space and to not exceed my service provider's data limit, I'd like to know if there is a way to download only the HD version without having to download the SD version as well? Currently, I have to open the "Download" box and highlight all of the SD downloads and delete and remove them. Of course, it begins to download them the next time I open up iTunes (and yes, I have turned off and on the auto-download feature).

I did get an answer to this question from the rep at my local Verizon store. I just wanted to provide the answer in case someone else has the same question.
While in the email you wish to reply to, press the white envelope shape on the upper right corner of the screen. This will open up as the reply to the sender. If you press the word "reply" in the upper left had corner (of this window) a drop down box will appear with more options. Reply, reply all and forward. Hope that helps.

This is a Thunderbird forum. Are you actually asking about Thunderbird or really about Firefox?
In both cases, the answer is pretty much the same; go to the site (below), drill down to the version you want, on the platform you use (windows/mac/linux), in the language you use, and download it, then run it.
There is no need to uninstall the previous version.

Is there a way to find out the GUI version of a logged in user

SAP provides a method in CL_GUI_FRONT_END_SERVICES called GET_GUI_VERSION. This works fine for supplying the version information for the logged in user.
Unfortunately, it doesn't have any input parameters to specify "ANY" user name.
I'm looking for a way to find out the gui version of all logged in users.
Tables USR41 will give me a list of the logged in users
I can then use USR21, ADR6 and ADRP to get more user info.
But, I can't find a way to determine what GUI version each of the users is using.
Does anyone have any ideas?

We have done in a different way. ie we have used userexit SUSR0001 and coded using
* Collect SAPGUI info of the user logging on
call function 'RFC_SYSTEM_INFO' destination 'SAPGUI'
importing
rfcsi_export = i_rfcsi.
Here i_rfcsi-rfcsaprl contains the version info of SAPGUI
and updated this info in a custom table.

I'm working with a trial version of Photoshop CS5. I noted a post about the failure of PS Help to return any results when doing a local search. Apparently, there was a bug and a fix, as described here:

Hi all: thanks for your messages here. There was a problem with the local help download package for Using Photoshop. The team has rebuilt the package and confirmed that local search for Photoshop is now working. Please update your local copy of Using Photoshop to update the help package. Here's what to do:
1. Open the Help app
2. Open the Preferences
3. Go to Local Content
4. Highlight/select Using Photoshop
5. Hit the Delete button.
6. Then click Update
The application should automatically download and update the new Help package.
When I get to step 3, Local Content does not produce any result; so I can't implement the fix. Is the "fully functional" trial version not fully functional?
I was searching for a way to set the timing for AutoSave, assuming there is an AutoSave. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

In the help application when you open the preferences instead of local content,
click on Updater settings and click on Manually update local content, then
click manage now.
