Is there a way to make all page margins the same?

I've exported a book file from indesign. Since the pages were in a book-type spread, the odd and even pages have different margins. The odd page has the bigger margin on the left, while the even has the bigger margin on the right. Is there any way to make these identical after the fact. I can't go back and redo the indesign file.

But when I try to reverse the inside outside on one page of the spread, just reverse them, so the dimensions are the SAME, all the text and photos move.

Out of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, Illustrator is definitely the one I have most problems working with, due to small UI differences and ways of handling things
Like the fact that you can't drag next to a number to change it, like in Photoshop. Or the fact that I can't sync my settings (it only says "Signed in as:", and when I press Manage Account, I'm taken to my CC files in Safari).
But most annoying is the fact that whenever I'll save a document in Illustrator, a dialogue box opens letting me know the progress of the saving. Not only does this make me unable to continue working on the document (if the file is large, it takes some time), the app icon starts jumping in the dock if I switch to another program before the box appears.
So, is there any way to make it save in the background, like in Photoshop? I'm running OS X, with Illustrator version 17.1.0.

This really frustrates me, small differences between the apps that shouldn't be there.
I understand you can't change the keyboard shortcuts to be the same/similar, but this is totally different. Let's hope it changes soon.

I am using Acrobat X Standard to "highlight" lines using comments lines at 12pt width and 50% opacity on DWG files converted to PDF. The opacity setting makes the text and lines readable behind the highlighting, but the colors do not print well. Moving the highlighting behind the existing text and lines would allow me to use 100% opacity with more vibrant colors.
Before, we highlighted by hand, but those colors do not scan or copy well. Digitizing the highlighting is cleaner, and can be edited without starting over. The "comments" lines can be applied by Acrobat Reader, Acrobat Standard, and Acrobat Pro, so there's an advantage. Even more important is that the average file size of an 11x17 print that is highlighted and scanned in color is 1000 KB, while doing it this way, they tend to be 100-150 KB, and the text remains searchable. If there's another system that people use, I'm open to that instead. I haven't looked in to doing the highlighting in AutoCAD.
Naturally, everything I'm doing is protected, and cannot be shared, sorry.

I am trying to post a 123 page resource guide online for the public to access through the website of a non profit. The guide has a lot of web links for to use for more information. But there have been clickability issues when using some browsers to download the PDF and so I would prefer to suggest that they try to download the resource into Adobe Reader before using. I want to make sure that this would securely safe for readers and users.

Is there a way to make movies open with the same screen size and position?

Hello, I'm a new mac guy having just bought an i-mac a few months ago.
I have a bunch of saved movies that open in quick time. Each time I open a separate movie by double clicking the file, the window opens in the upper right hand corner in a fairly small window. I must then drag the window size and location to a much larger size. I do this every time.
I saw under quicktime, preferences, a section about preferences for full screen. This seems to work one time, for that movie, but all subsequent movies (even in full screen) or their same size.
Is there a way to make the window size and/or location permanent?

In full screen mode (with "Hide Toolbars" selected), is there a way to make FF stop bumping the page up and down everytime I move the mouse to the top of the screen to reveal/hide the toolbar?

When I add a new track, it is automatically set to Stereo Out, is there a way to make it automatically set to Bus 5? I use a mix that sends everything through busses and every time I add a track it seems I have to adjust this.

...and/or setup one or more tracks the way you want.. and then create/save a template and load that when you want to start a new project...
You can even have Logic (via it's Startup preferences) autoload that template every time you start a new project... by choosing your template as the default one.

Are there any ways to make sure FCPX saves the project before quitting?

The other day when I was working on a project, Final Cut Pro did not save any changes I made for the last 3 hours. I lost all of my work. I understand that FCP is supposed to autosave projects, but it didn't. Are there any ways to make sure that it saves before quitting? I am currently running the trial version 10.0.8, and I plan to upgrade to the full version, soon, provided there aren't too many bugs.

It turns out it was a corrupted project. All other projects autosave before quitting, but that one always displays the same last modified time. I solved it by creating a brand new project.

I have a 4 year old that seems to be addicted to video games. I would like to make a folder of all the video game apps that is locked so that we can use them as a reward in a control kind of way. Right now he is able to sniff out the ipad anywhere we hide it. We would be happy to let him use the educational games but just want to lock up the more addicting games.

Sorry, but there is no way to lock specific apps, not unless the app itself has a password feature, something I've not seen in any games. If don't want your child playing those games, your only option is to remove them from the iPad and set the Restrictions to disallow installing of any other apps or making in-app purchases.

Is there a way to make photo files on the computer the same as the files in iPhoto?

I have all my photos organized in iPhoto but they are not organized the same way in the photo section of my files. Is there a way to have them show the same files? When ever I need to add a photo to a website I can't find the same one's I have in iPhoto since I'm only able to upload them from the photo file section and not iPhoto.

Just need to learn how to use iPhoto:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File: a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. 3.b.

I'm not sure when this changed (it was a while ago, possibly with OS X Mountain Lion, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't always this way?) but full-screening apps used to add them to the left of everything else. No, it's not possible. However, there are lots of apps available in App Store that will let you do that. Week Call, Fantatical, Cal, are juste a couple.

In Garage Band on iPAD, is there a way to make each key on the keyboard play a different sound effect?

I'd like to be able to play a number of selected sound effects using the keyboard in Garage Band. I've figured out how to import audio tracks from my itunes library into a track in Tracks View.

GarageBand on iPad does not have the SoundEffects instruments, that GarageBand on Mac has.
The closest you can get to this on your iPad will be the "Sampler" instrument. You can record a sound sample and play it using the "Sampler" instrument and adjust the pitch.
But you cannot assigne different samples to different keys.

After pinning a particular web site in each tab that I want to use in Firefox 4, the tabs work as expected for the initial session. However, after ending and later restarting Firefox 4, each tab starts with whatever page was displayed upon the previous close of Firefox. Upon restarting, I would like for Firefox to display the original pinned web page. Any suggestions?
