Is there a way to retrieve camera roll photos after failed backup

I backed up my iphone 4 to itunes (not icloud) yesterday, and today i went to the apple store to see if they could fix a broken lock button. They issued me a new phone, and assured me that i woult be able to retrieve my camera roll photos after restoring my phone from backup. Everything restored to my phone EXCEPT the photos. Some of them are very important to me and i would like to know if there is a way to retreive all of the photos through my computer, phone or itunes. PLEASE help me.

The Camera Roll photos should have restored, as they are part of the backup, unless you had a corrupted backup. Connect the phone, right click on it in iTunes, and choose Restore from Backup. If you are given a choice of backups choose one from before you replaced the phone.
However, the Camera Roll is not intended as a permanent store for photos; they should be transferred to a photo app on your computer or Photo Stream frequently, to avoid the situation you are now facing.

  • Is there a way to retrieve original iPhone photo after it has been edited and saved?

I cropped and saved a photo, not realizing the original would be deleted.  Is there any way to retrieve the original?

The find my iphone app is not needed and has nothing to do with finding the iphone on which it is installed.  The app simply allows you to find your other devices from the iphone -  not find the iphone it is on.
Find my iphone is a feature, no app required.  You do have to set it up on the iphone itself.  If you did not , then you cannot track it.
The serial number is of no use in locating an iphone.

  • I tried to make a new album in Gallery, but I seemed to have accidentally deleted the photos, is there a way to retrieve the lost photos?

I went on a vacation and took many photos with my iPad. On my flight back to the states, I tried making an album for my photos. It seemed like I accidentally deleted my photos. Is there a way to retrieve the deleted photos on the iPad?
It is an iPad 2 w/ Wifi.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thank You.

Not sure you can create a smart playlist from your iPhone. I think you need to create it on your computer...

Sometimes after creating an event folder on iPhoto, all my pictures in that event will be gone the next time I open iPhoto. Why is this happening? Is there a way to retrieve the missing photos?
Most events I make on iphoto will still be there the next time I open iPhoto, while other event FOLDERS will be there, but pictures in it gone.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Upgrade MS Office to 2011, or use Apple iWorks, available from the App Store or use the free OpenOffice or LibreOffice. Plenty of choices, just no longer MS Office 2004.

  • Is there a way to retrieve deleted text messages with no backup?

Is there any way to retrieve text message conversations with no backup on an iPhone 4S?

If there is no backup, there is nothing to recover the message from.
You might check to see if your carrier can provide the message, but it would never appear on your device again.

If they are in an iPod backup, then restore another iPod, iPhone or iPad from that backup

  • Is there any way to get camera roll pics from Jan-Apr of this year that are stored in a backup of an iPhone on iCloud without overwriting the current iPhone data (and pics)?

OK, here's a fun challenge for everyone out there. My wife got an iPhone 5 for Christmas (2012) last year, and we purchased the iCloud backup to go with the new phone. She was backing up her iPhone as usual (when plugged in and connected to Wifi), including the camera roll (we didn't figure out how to use the Photostream feature until AFTER we had to reset her phone as described below).
So...in April 2013, she had to reset her phone--wipe out everything on it--and start over again. At that time, we discovered the photostream feature, and have been backing up pics from her iPhone to my PC (and a portable hard drive) since April. But, we do NOT have our pics from Jan-Apr 2013, and are both kind of freaking out that we lost 3 months of our kids lives (including both birthdays). I believe they are stored on iCloud (as part of a back up image from her iPhone stored on iCloud). I would like to get those pictures, but the only way I've seen from user threads to get those pictures is to RE-load a backup image on her iPhone, then take the camera roll pics and put all the pictures on a shared photostream so that I can then get them on my PC and save them off. But, to do that, my wife would have to put her phone back 8 months, which as anyone could understand is not something to be done lightly (it is her work phone also).
So, long story short, we have some pics on iCloud that I need to get to---how do we get back those pictures? Can someone from Apple pull down the backup image to get to the pics, then put them on our iCloud photostream?
Thanks so much for your help, and Happy New Year!
    Dave

sure pretty simple.  make a backup of your current settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US
then restore device from old backup you need pics off of
    then import pics to computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
you may need to save pics to camera roll first
then restore the new backup and sync pics back to phone via itunes

  • Is there a way to retrieve an Apple ID using the backup email?

    Hi!
So I have an iPad mini that I purchased about a year ago and I activated it with an apple ID that was under by brother's name. Recently I updated iTunes on it and it reset. I have to put the apple ID that i activated it with but I can't remember it. The email that I used was a yahoo, and the thing with yahoo is that if its inactive for a few months (the email) they recyle it. So, I can't check my brother's email or even guess at it because it doesn't exist anymore and he doesn't remember it. I do know that my email was the back-up email that I used for the account. I know my email, but I have to use his apple ID first for an email to even be sent to mine. Is there a way that  ican go around this and just get an email sent to mine (his back-up email)?? (I don't know the operating system, but what I do know is that I purchase it on March 2013)

Can your brother use his iTunes account?  If he can log in then he has his passcode, use it.   ???
    AND
The yahoo email does not get recycled unless your brother deactivates his yahoo account, and nobody does that.  So I doubt it is inactive.   The email account is the same as the Apple ID and it appears in the iPad, in settings, under iCloud or Mail account information.
That doesn't help recover a password.  But if your brother still uses iTunes, he  remembers his passcode.

  • How do I find camera roll photos after backing up my iPad in iTunes before migrating to iOS8 then back to iOS7?

I recently, mistakenly, migrated my iPad to iOS8. In less than a day I concluded iOS8 was not for me, I migrated back to IOS 7.  I backed up the iPad in iOS8 using iTunes before migrating back and now find that my camera roll has gone.  I realise that iOS8 put the photos somewhere else (witness the posts here and in other Mac forums complaining that their camera rolls are 'gone') but shouldn't they have been backed up in iTunes?
I was able to retrieve all the apps from the backup but there was no camera roll.  Where in the iOS8 backup should they be now?  I'm afraid that I haven't figured out a connection from posts describing where the camera roll pictures went in iOS8 to be able to work backwards and restore them.
Can anyone please describe how I might be able to retrieve the Camera Roll?

    You cannot.
You should be importing them regularly as you would with any digital camera.
Did you not import them before restoring?

  • Is there a way to retrieve all deleted photos off of a old iPhone 4?

I know this may be hopeless but I had to ask because this is very important IF I'm able to get these old photos. With my old iPhone 4, I would delete pictures off of there if I uploaded them online or if I just didn't want them on my phone anymore (which I'm not regretting and I don't do now with my iPhone 5). I'm just wondering if there is anyway I can retrieve/recover any of my photos that I deleted off of my phone? The last time I backed this phone up was a LONG time ago and it was on my old MacBook so I doubt I can recover the pictures that way. Help please?

    Hi thatssoblasian,
If you don't have a backup with the photos on it, and they weren't downloaded elsewhere, they're gone. Sorry.

  • Easiest way to delete Camera Roll photos which were imported by iPhoto through Photostream?

So I have a bunch of photos on my iOS device that were properly uploaded to my Photostream.  Then, iPhoto dutifully imported them on my MacBook Pro and place them in my iPhoto library.  So now I have a bunch of photos on my iOS device that iPhoto reads as "Already Imported".  If I try to import them, I get the usual warning about a Duplicate Photo.  I don't want to import duplicate photos and choosing not to import them leaves them on my iOS device.
So is there a more elegant way of getting them off my iOS device instead of manually deleting them?
This is an ok idea until I have over 100 photos and the deletion process becomes a tedious tapping afair.
    Thanks!

    No.

  • Is there a way to retrieve files encripted up by Apples Backup?

I have some files on an external hard drive that were backed up (encripted?) by Apples Backup a couple years ago.  I would like to restore that data and retrieve some photos.  Is thare a program or method to accomplish this?  Thanks for any help with this.
    Joe

These files were encrypted by the Apple program "Backup" that was available until 2011 or so.  The program is no longer available on the app store.  When I purchased a new computer they were somehow missed when I migrated my data over to the new machine.   I am looking for a program that can open them.  I do have the original password.  I am also looking around locally someone with a mac running Snow Leopard or earlier.  Thanks for answering.
