Thanks, Michel. Did not know there was an app/report that might help me. Most of the advice given in the forum involved very complicated trips to terminal and (in my mind) dicey changes to the system.
I'll be waiting with baited breath to see if any alarms go off in your head when you see what I have - I guess there could well be one of the plugins causing it, but have no idea which one. Nothing really new here since before using Mavericks (and the same setup and problem on my brand new iMac)...

Is there a way to roll back the 725 update?

I have the IdeaPad K1 and I guess I got an early version that had stock Honeycomb. Netflix was not preinstalled but I was able to download it from the Lenovo appstore no problem.
Well this morning Lenovo pushes an update to my tablet and now my stock Honeycomb has some horrible overlay. The Standard Honeycomb icons for back, home and recent apps have been replaced with ugly white icons and I have a stupid chat bubble icon in the bottom center that opens a favorite apps wheel. Not only is this wheel unessecary, the chat bubble icon doesn't even make any sense and is ugly and obtrusive.
I don't want any of this crap. I want my old tablet back. I want stock Honecomb back. I'm assuming they flashed the bios with this update because performing a factory restore just takes me back to this new operating system.
Is there anyway to roll back to the system before this horrible update? I want the tablet I bought not this junk.

I wish I could revert back as well, the theme is an eyesore. I rarely use my k1 for that reason. I still keep it hoping that the next update will fix it.
I will probably sell it if they don't update soon, its a shame, its a well built device, that lenovo had to go and ruin

if you want to fool around with your device you void warrant and nokia wont touch it should you have issues further down the road you could take it to a nokia care centre and get it reflashed and ask them to install the last version rather than the new one but its always adviseable to have the latest frimware installed for better performance so its up to you from here what to do next

All pages are very slow to load. Ebay is among the worst. The scolling is choppy at best, and all check boxes and expandable fields just show up blank. Desperately need to roll back the upgrade.

I had heard that lots of people were unhappy that they upgraded to 7.0.3 and so I had no plans to upgrade. BUT I left my iPad unattended for a few minutes and when I returned it was installing. My guess is the message came up and my cat walked across the screen or layed down on it. Whatever happened, I don't like 7.0.3. I used to be able to close out the apps that were open, but now i can't. The passcode is a royal pain too. I like it the way it was and not so much now that the upgrade installed.

Apps are easier to close than before because it requires one less tap on the screen. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.
You can turn off the Passcode Lock in Settings > General > Passcode Lock > Turn Off
Apple does not support downgrading the iOS. I recommend that you teach your cat to read the alert and info boxes on your iPad before it taps on them. ;)

Is there a way to export a searchable list of artists/albums/songs (not the music files, just the text) to my iPhone 4?

Basically, I have an iPod Classic which contains over 17,000 songs. I have a 16 GB iPhone 4. I don't always have the iPod with me, but just about always have the iPhone. Since I am still old school enough to actually buy CDs, I'd like a handily available and searchable list that I can export from iTunes to my iPhone so I can make sure I don't accidentally duplicate a purchase (it happens). I've tried searching the App Store but either I am doing it wrong, or nothing exists as yet. Obviously the phone can't carry all of that music so I am not looking to transfer those files en masse. Just want the lists so I can reference them as needed. Is this a pipe dream or is there actually a way to do this? Thanks in advance...

The prel file is a project file which will eventually be exported to a file which will be your movie.
If all this involves just changing the location where you save your project files routinely, that is one thing.
But, once you move the source media that go into a project which has been saved closed, then you get
into serious media - project reconnect issues.
When you import media into a project, all you get are copies of the originals that are at a hard drive save location.
But, the project needs to trace back to the originals at the hard drive save location where they were when first
imported into the project.
Moving the project file should not get you into trouble; whereas moving, deleting, renaming source media that went into the project will.
If the project is finished, I can see using the Project Archiver to save it in a Copied Folder (saved to the external hard drive).
But, to work from the Copied Folder on a routine basis needs some thinking about. I would think about pointing your project and
it components to locations of your choice (even the external hard drive) for the "next" project but without involving the Project Archiver until you have finished
with the project and want it safely out of the way.

My iPad 2 screen cracked, is there a way to get it fixed (I don't want to buy a new one)?

About a few weeks ago my iPad 2 screen cracked. I don't know how it happened, but we think that someone might have stepped on it. It wasn't bad at all, but then it spread. One small crack across the middle & top, with a large "spider web" crack on the right side. So I was wondering if there is a way to get the screen fixed from Apple. Right now, buying another iPad isn't really the best option.

I don't know what country that you are in, but in the US the price for repair (i.e. replacement) is for the iPad 2 (from here) $249, and here in the UK £206.44 . If you select your country at the top of that page you might be able to find the price for your country and your service options.

Is there a way to backup my iPod to a backup that wasn't the last one saved? I backup to my computer, not iCloud.

I restored my iPod Touch 4 without meaning to, and when I tried to restore it to the backup (where all my pics and music are) it restored it blank. Is it possible to restore it to an earlier save? No. I'm sorry. But, i think it uses the headphones as an antenna so it has to be plugged in to headphones in order to make it work. but, it burns the battery down so i don't use the radio function that much.

You cannot transfer a book project directly. You can transfer the photos in the book using Shared Photo Streams or beaming them. But to transfer a book you would need to restore the other iPad from a backup of the iPad with the book. That would be a bit drastic.

HT4972 Did I just lose everything on my IPAD for the last year because it said to update it, not giving an option to back it up first? Its updating with ITunes now but under the RESTORE option. There was no way out of this.

My IPAD2 had a pop up message that an update is available, to close or click on details, so I clicked on details. It took me to an upgrade box, no back up options. I clicked to upgrade it. It downloaded for awhile, then turned off, and when it turned back on, it directed me to plug into my ITUNES with the USB adapter, which I did. When ITunes came up, it said I had to restore it before I could use ITUnes. Again, no other options. I am worried that I just lost everything on my IPAD2 for the last year, apps, photos, documents, settings, email, etc. It is still downloading after 30 minutes. Is everything gone and truly back to factory settings? If so there was no warning for this at all, I'll never get everything back.

I'm not sure what happned either but If you are doing this via iTunes, iTunes should have backed up the iPad first. It can take a good bit of time when you update with iTunes on your computer because iTunes downloads and installs the entire iOS all over again. If you are running iOS 5 on the iPad, and you will be now, you can update OTA via WiFi in the future and the process takes far less time since you will only be downloading an incremental update.
If you are syncing on a regular basis with iTunes, you should have a recent backup. In the worst case scenario, you should be able to restore from the backup. And as stated aboce, you can download all apps again and virtually all purchased content from iTunes (if you live in the U.S.) and you can always sync your iTunes library back to the iPad.
Let the update finish and see where you are then. Come back if you need help.

Desperate for easy way to roll back 5.1 firmware to a previous version?

The company I work for uses a proprietary iPod Touch app for data management. I have a 3rd gen iPod Touch that I updated to firmware 5.1. I don't think many people in the company keep up with firmware updates like I do. However that may now be to their advantage because we had an app software update about the time the firmware update happened and my app no longer works like it should - I am one of very few employees, nation wide, that has this problem. I think it has to do with an incompatability of the app software and the 5.1 firmware. I really need to be able to use the app to it's fullest capacity. Its been weeks and the company hasn't fixed the problem so I'm seeking answers of my own.
Is there a simple way to roll back the firmwareto 5.0 or before the cloud software came out (I don't know what version that would be)??? or is it permanent?
I use a Microsoft based notebook for my iPod/iTunes managment so answers gear to a Mac won't necessarily make sense to me.

When closing multiple tabs, is there any way to get back the option of saving those tabs OR NOT for your next session, within the warning dialogue box itself?

For brief period of time, not in FF4, there was the option whereby when I closed multiple tabs, a firefox dialogue box opened warning me that I'm about to close multiple tabs, '''AND ALSO''' asking me if wanted to save those tabs for my next session, or trash them.
The primary issue IS NOT about saving tabs. The primary question here is about getting THE OPTION back to the CLOSING MULTIPLE TABS WARNING DIALOGUE.
The use case here should be obvious. However, since it is clearly not obvious that different people work in a variety of ways, and neither of those methods of working is "wrong" or "right" I will elaborate: Some people, for whatever reason, it doesn't matter why, want to save all their tabs on some occasions, and on other occasions don't.
This preference varies throughout the day. Therefore it is inefficient to constantly go to preferences and change whether or not I want firefox to open all my tabs from my last session. It is more LOGICAL to place an option in the multiple tab warning dialogue as well, for people whose preference constantly changes.
This option was available for a time in most of the Firefox 3 versions. Is there any way to get back this option in Firefox 4?

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no need for asking if you want to save the current session.
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle the value with a double left-click.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
