Is there any way to do pages within pages?

This is the best way I can describe what I'm trying to do. I am creating an 8.5"x11 manual. Each page is broken into 4 separate squares (cards? tiles?), each with content about a particular product my company sells. The manual is in alpahabetical order, so when I have to insert a new product, I end up having to move around every tile that comes after it. I was wondering if there was any way to set up those tiles to behave like pages in InDesign, where I could just create a new one, and all of the others would automatically make room, by moving down the page and onto the next.
I have done them with a Data Merge before, but that seems needlessly difficult. I should also mention that I have other content on the page instead of just the cards, so I can't just have the pages be the size of the tiles and print 4 to a 8.5" x 11" page.

The short answer is no. What you can do is create a flow using linked text boxes and then insert elements into this.

Hi all--
I am having a really hard time--I am trying to transfer EPUBs from my Win 7 comp to my Nook Tablet. I bought a lot of books from several non-BN sites because they were lots cheaper and were also sold in bundles--but the site was messed up and sent the books in PDF form rather than EPUB. PDF files won't read like a regular book on my Nook Tablet, so my friend offered to convert them to EPUB for me.
Most of the books turned out fine, but some of them now have a few extra pages at the beginning before the cover image and the correct title and author are not displaying--it seems to instead show the filepath where the file was saved on m friend's computer (C:\My Computer/Documents and Settings...etc.)
So, what I would like to do is be able to edit the EPUB files so I can delete the extra pages at the beginning so the correct cover image will be displayed and to be able to change the file's data sp it will show (and be searchable by) the correct title and author.
I am new to all this, so I appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you SO much for your help!!

P.S. Having the title and author show up correctly so they are searchable and appear in the correct place on my Nook Tablet is the top priority--correct cover pages would be nice aesthitically, but it is not that important.
****ALSO--does anyone know of an app or anything for the Nook Tablet that would allow PDF files to be read just like an EPUB/B&N=purchased book? Currently when I open a PDF, it shows the page in TINY print--you can use pinching to zoom in, but then the file enlarges so it is bigger than the screen, making it very hard to read. I can't figure out any way to enlarge the text but still fits the page like an EPUB does, so I'm wondering if there's an app that would do that--it's hard because you can't try apps before you buy them and I can't teel if they will work from the descriptions.

For sideloaded content the nook pulls the metadata from ePub file itself. I would suggest looking at a program like Sigil or Calibre that will let you edit the metadata in the book to make it appear like you want.
For the PDF vs ePub - No, that's the way PDFs work (think of them as graphics, not text), wheres ePubs are Web Pages - so no you can't them to behave exactly alike without converting the files.

Pages 5.2 is so user unfriendly. The first problem is just getting it to open a document. I click to open and get a message that I need the latest version of Pages to access that document. I already have the latest, so I go to the application itself, open that and then can open the document I need to work on. Also, when I save a newsletter to pdf to e-mail to members, the print on the first half of the first page is shaded. I've tried exporting to pdf, printing as pdf, and it's all the same. It doesn't do that using other apps, e.g., Word, so I don't think it's an Adobe problem. Any thoughts on either of these problems or how to get the older version back? Also placing an image is very difficult. It happens with sheer luck.

If Pages ’09 v4.3 was installed when you updated to Pages v5+, the installation process moved the older Pages application into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. Use that.
There are reported issues with PDF and Word document exports from Pages v5+ (including v5.2). Sounds like you found them.
The Pages v5+ document format, though it still bears the .pages extension, is entirely incompatible with prior Pages documents. As Pages v5+ lacks over 100 features/functionality of its v4.3 antecedent, older documents opened in Pages v5 may be selectively stripped of content if not supported in Pages v5+.
With both applications installed on your machine, a double-click on any .pages document (old or new) will summon Pages v5.2 to open it. You will need to right-click (two finger tap) to select Open With > Pages (4.3) from the contextual menu, or launch Pages ’09 and use the open file browser.
In Pages v5+, placing an image is easier if you have selected the Format > Arrange > Move with Text > Automatic. Text will automatically flow around your image. While you have this tab open, drag from the lower-right grip to the upper-left and you will observe a yellow proportional guide line. While you are changing the scale, also notice the Size and Position values change on the Arrange panel. You can change these directly if you prefer.

If you are talking about spell-checking, then you have to change the iPad OS language to Spanish. It's a bug -- changing the keyboard normally does the trick.

i dig firefox 4 for the most part. i customized the layout to my liking. what i can't stand and can't figure out how to modify is the little page-loading status indicator. i absolutely hate the gray captive-ball lookin' thing that runs counter-clockwise and then turns around and becomes a green clockwise-turning circle. HATE IT. i see i can get the old-school status indicator (clockwise-turning circle of dots) but even if that's working in the toolbar the hideous new one is churning away on the tab. i know this is simply a matter of aesthetics and not really a problem, but... There are times while reading an e-mail when I want to look at a different one. The problem is that if I switch to different tab, when I switch back I am positioned at the top of the message. Why is the position not saved and restored?

The F and B keys (forward and back) still work for navigating a message list, just as they do for messages viewed in tabs or the Message Pane.

when making text edits to a pdf document, i am interested to know ... is there any way to track these within acrobat.
i.e. text added/deleted to the pdf and not commented.

Not really. The best you can do is use the Compare Documents function to
identify such changes after the fact.

You can in the Yahoo for Mac app (This has been in Beta for literally years)
It seems that the iChat and Messages Beta Yahoo part is a sort of Bolt-On (it is actually a Plug-in) that does Text Chatting only and not much else (it can go Invisible)
It seems it lacks some other functions that the Yahoo for Mac App has such as blocking people.

I often see songs I would like to purchase but not at the time I see them and would like to compile a list which I can then add to and purchase at a later stage. Is there any way of doing this within I Tunes or do I have to have loads of stickies on my desktop!

Just create a playlist entitled "wish list". You can drag unpurchased tunes into there and buy them when you want. Note however, that racks don't always stay in the iTMS forever.

I don't care that the table remain "active" (that is, it doesn't have to allow me to change values and recalculate from within Pages) BUT I do care that the formatting and values remain exactly like I painstakingly set them in Numbers.

You can copy and paste the entire table. Select it so you get the little square handles at each corner and side, then copy. Switch to pages and paste.
Every cell that's calculated from other cells in that table will remain calculable in Pages. Any cell that's calculated from other tables will just have its value.
There is no need to create a table in Numbers just because you want calculations. Tables in Pages behave just the same way, but without the help and function building facilities.

I think Safari has the same keyboard shortcut as Firefox "command+F" on a Mac or "Ctrl+F" on Windows.
Look in the lower left corner for the Find. There are more likely to be differences in Find Next and Find Previous in the keyboard shortcuts, but continuing at the Find bar at the bottom doesn't matter what browser you use. There is an "X" there to dismiss the Find bar. In Windows the "Esc" key will dismiss the bar if you are within the find text entry area.

The endless scrolling technique is far too tedious when trying to add a new bookmark, because the window is simply too tiny. I suggest you install the "Add Bookmark to Here2" extension, then you can expand the the list but you will not see the bookmark itself in the list if that is what you wanted. At the top you have three major folders you can select one of them and scroll up and down. Below that you have your most recently used folders and you can select one of them instead and scroll up and down. You can see the folder the bookmark is in -- they get added to the bottom
If you really want to see the bookmark within the folder the same extension allows you to bring the bookmark to the folder from say the bookmarks sidebar that is why it is named as such. I use it but mainly i use the dialog.

If you are not using tags at all, you can remove a whole lot of confusion by removing them from the dialog via the extension.
