Is there any way to password protect the ipad from syncing with a computer? Or Blocking it from a computer?

My brother borrows it and always adds music to it. I want to prevent this from happening.

Password protect the iPad and he won't be able to use it at all. Seems like the appropriate response if someone is using your belongings in a way you've requested they should not.

  • Is there any way to password protect a project in aperture 3?

I have certain projects that I don't want viewable by others that may use my computer.  Is there any way to password protect a certain project or album to restrict access?

No. You can hide images using the "reject" rating, and you can password protect a Library by putting it on a password-protected sparsebundle.

OS X has fast-user switching and a built-in Guest account.  I never allow anyone access to my account.
To limit a client's view to just his/her Projects, use Aperture's "Favorites" function.  A forum regular -- Shutters33d, iirc -- posted this excellent suggestion just a couple of days ago.

By itself? No.  You can of course password your iPad as a whole, but not an individual app.

  • Is there any way to password protect access to a form?

We are going to use a form for a part of a clinical study and there are only 4 persons that should be able to enter information into this specific form.
I understand that I can choose to share the link to the form with only these appropriate persons but I want to know if there is any way I can password protect the access e.g. after they have clicked on the link, they need to write a password, then be able to fill in the form?
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
This is not something we currently support but you can add or vote on feature ideas: http://forums.adobe.com/community/formscentral?view=idea
If you need to add a new idea click "Create an idea" under "Actions" in the top right.
    Thanks,

  • Is there any way to password protect my entire site?

I am looking to create an agent resource site for my company and want to make the entire site password protected. Is there any way to do this with a muse designed site?

You can if you host with Adobe Business Catalyst and upgrade to the paid webMarketing hosting plan. Business Catalyst Secure Zones is the easiest way to do it with Muse.

  • Is there a way to password-protect the Mail app?

I've looked through the Settings and didn't see anything. I know I can password-protect the entire device, but that seems like overkill.
Is there something I'm missing or even an app that would let me password-protect just the Mail app?

Seriously, if I want to hand someone my Touch, there's no way of keeping them from accessing my email? Why wouldn't there be a setting to secure your mail -- or, to paraphrase the ads, why isn't there "an app for that"?

  • Is there a way to password protect the Items under the Firefox Tools menu

Is there a way to password the Firefox "Tools" menu?

My suggestion is to hide the Options menu using the Menu Editor extension:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/710
That will at least slow those jokers down, and if you also hide the Addons menu item, they may not know how to access the Menu Editor options using the keyboard command. Of course, you would also have to hide the Customize Menus.. item in the Tools menu, too.
Uhm, the Master Password feature isn't going to protect menu items from being accessed, and once the Master Password is entered for a session, that isn't going to stop anyone from using anything in Firefox. If that is of concern to Scott, too, I am out of suggestions.

  • Is there a way to password protect the access options pannel, in particular the Connection Settings?

Is there a way that access to the Options panel can be locked by an administrator. In particular I would like to block a user from being able to change the proxy server settings in Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Connection Settings. I would like to be able to lock the settings to (Use system proxy settings). The OS is windows 7 standard user account controlled by a windows small business server 2008.

You can lock the related network.http prefs to prevent users from changing the settings.<br />
That will only make it impossible to change the prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page directly.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/network.proxy.%28protocol%29
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/network.proxy.%28protocol%29_port
Use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify new (default) values.
Place a file local-settings.js in the defaults\pref folder where you also find the file channel-prefs.js to specify using mozilla.cfg.
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    See:
These functions can be used in the mozilla.cfg file:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

  • Is there a way to password protect the email accounts in my ipad?

I have private info in the emails, and sometimes i lend the ipad to my kids so they can play games or to someone to look at something with it.
I dont want them to be able to read my emails.
Is there a way to protect the emails account with a password?
    I downloaded the ios 6

Not directly no - there is this work-around which should still work on iOS 6, or you could see if any of the third-party email apps in the app store support a password, or just access your account via Safari (you can create a homescreen shortcut for your account's login page)

  • Is there any way to password protect a shared library?

I have 2 shared libraries in my home network.  I have 6 iPad minis (I've got a lot of kids) and 2 AppleTVs using those libraries.  However, one library is more adult content (Rated PG-13 and R stuff) while the other one contains lots of cartoons and kid movies.  I want my kids to only be able to access the kids library while my other library is still available (without lots of account shuffling and such) when my wife and I finally get a chance to watch movies.  Is there a way to lock the one library down so my kids can't access it while in our network?

No. You can hide images using the "reject" rating, and you can password protect a Library by putting it on a password-protected sparsebundle.

  • Is there a way to password protect the NetInstall process?

I could not find this topic through the search function (correct me if I´m wrong) so I´m starting a new one here.
Is there a way to exclude users from accidentally clicking their way through the NetInstall process? In specific I would like to password protect it, without using third-party-applications if possible.

Hmm.. ..for me alone doing NetInstalls, this would not be a problem, but I need to ensure relatively easy Install procedures for less trained personal (Like start with "N", click OK, enter password, off you go..).
Has anyone experimented with modifying the System Restore Package inside the NetInstall .dmg? I´m not that experienced with .pkgs, but might this be a possible way? Some preinstall-script doing LDAP-authentification?
Or is there a way to add MAC-addresses to the Server Admin allow list via a script? Then I could configure one server as a "gate" with a NetBoot Set containing an account allowing the computer to start of a second NetInstall-only-server through a login script...

  • Is there a way to password protect the delete function for pics/videos??

My 2yr old toddler is randomly deleting my pics and videos on my iphone. Yes he knows how to navigate to the pics and videos on his own. I think its that shiny red delete button that catches his eye when he's bopping around form screen to screen.  I just want to disable the delete function function so that he doesnt do that anymore. I know there is the backup but that relies on me knowing when and what he deletes as I dont back up all the time.I heard Android has this feature but wasnt sure if the iPhone did. Any help would be appreciated.

The real way to fix this problem is to obvioulsy not allow a 2 yr old to play with your $600 phone.
Get that kid an iPod touch to play with !

  • Is there any way to hook up the iPad 2 to an external CD/DVD drive?

I want to get my girlfriend an iPad for college, but her textbooks frequently come with CD's with supplemental learning resources. She also enjoys watching DVD's. Unfortunately, the iPad lacks a USB port, so it can't be connected to an external CD/DVD drive. Is there any workaround, such as a USB adapter that can be used with the existing iPad interface? Or is there some sort of wireless solution to be able to use an external CD/DVD drive? Knowledgeable feedback is appreciated, and please don't suggest buying a laptop, as I have already considered that. My inquiry refers strictly to my query regarding hooking up an external CD/DVD drive to the iPad 2. Thanks in advance!

Ok - then since the answer to your question is NO - then you have all of ....
    Knowledgeable feedback
that there is on the subject. There is no way to connect any device to the iPad except for a camera using the camera connection kit.
