Is there anyone out there who has used iTunes Match for a large music collection who actually likes and recommends it?
I have over 16,000 custom selected songs in my library. It's the most important thing on my computer by far. Before I purchase Match, I would like to know if other users really like it.
When you purchase Match and all your tunes have been matched or uploaded, what do you do with your current iTunes library?

You need do nothing with it. You can keep it on your hard drive to access locally.

Hi there! Yesterday, I installed Mavericks on my Macbook. Since then, it doesn't recognize my external hard disk drive anymore (at least not on the desktop. In Germany they call it "it doens't mount it". I don't know if it's the same expression in english?)

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
Is there anyone out there who have come across a 100 error code by trying to log into their e-mail through their internet provider? The error code means that you are trying to log in from another country. Is there something wrong with the settings???Please let me know if there is an answer out there. thank you

i have moved my sdcard over to my samsung brightside phone,. but the videos can not be read. Is there anyone out there whom may have experienced the same issue? I also tried transferring my files over to my pc first, then reformatted the sdcard, then transferred to the appropriate files back onto the sdcard and put back into samsung.
Thanks for the info SuzyQ. lorsa, the community is correct, pictures and videos can be saved differently on other phones. What phone did you remove the SIM card from? Where did you purchase your SIM card from? Your previous phones SD card and format may not be compatible with your Brightside device. I show you advise that you reformated your memory card but make sure the files are saved correctly. Listed below are the different type of files you can save, receive, and view for pics and videos with your device.

Can I use iTunes Match for 2 iPhones with different music, same account?
My wife and I each have an iPhone and share an iTunes account. We share a master music library but each manually manage our music on our iPhones. So she has certain songs on her phone and I have different ones on mine, both coming from the same master library. I'm trying to figure out if I can use iTunes Match in this scenario. I don't want to see her songs on my iPhone. Is there a way to only see music on my iPhone if I use Match or am I stuck seeing my entire library on my iPhone?
I think I'm getting it finally, thanks for the clarification. So at least I know there is a way to not see all music in my library from my iPhone.
So in my case i have about 800 songs on my iPhone out of about 1600 on my iTunes library. If I'm understanding correctly I would have to enable Match on my iPhone, then turn off the "show all music" option. This in turn should leave me with my original 800 songs listed which I woud then have to download from the cloud. Once I have all of my 800 songs back down from the cloud I won't be required to download them again from that phone.
A worse scenario would be that I enable Match, and then have to find my 800 songs out of the total 1600 manually from the list and then download them from the cloud.

Restored iPhone, signed in with wrong apple ID & can't use iTunes Match for 33 days!!u

When I connected my iPhone 5 to itunes it said it couldn't read the device and I had to restore it.
After I did this I signed in with my primary Apple ID, that I use for iCloud, Mail, iMessage, Photo Stream etc. However most of my purchases & iTunes Match have been made on another Apple ID (that I used before iCloud was introduced)
Now when I try and turn on iTunes match using this ID I get a message saying:
"This device is already associated with an Apple ID. You can use iTunes Match on this device with just one apple ID every 90 days. This device can be used with another Apple ID in 33 days"
This is very very frustrating as I didn't realise what I had done when signing into the iPhone. I have sent a message to Apple to see if they can reset this before the 33 days so I can sign in with the correct ID for match.
Anyone else had a similiar problem? I hope that there will be away in future of merging ID's so that this problem doesn't happen - I'm sure it's very common!

StevenYes, I did as you suggested and signed into the iTunes store with the Apple ID I use for purchases and iTunes Match.
When I attempt to turn on iTunes match I am given the following message:
"This device is already associated with an Apple ID. You can use iTunes Match on this device with just one apple ID every 90 days. This device can be used with another Apple ID in 33 days"
I believe this happened after I restored my iPhone5(as requested by iTunes) and logged back into the device with the incorrect ID, which was then set up to use for iTunes & App Store Purchases.
When I then logged out of this ID and tried to use the correct ID, it was then that I received the message saying I cannot use it!
If you think there is something else I can do to resolve this then please let me know.
However, I have sent an email to Apple explaining what has happened. If they have good procedures in place, they should be able to see my iTunes account(s) and the devices associated with it. Remove the iPhone from the Apple ID that is is currently assocaited with and then I will be able to associate with the correct ID.

We are using 1 macbook pro and 2 apple ID for purchasing iTunes music together (Me and my wife).
Actually, I have bought 1 year service of iTunes match on my apple ID and have been using well the service after download the purchased musics under the apple ID I am using.
But once my wife associated the macbook pro with her apple ID to download the musics she purchased,
I have not been able to use the iTunes Match service I have subscribed already.
The message said
"This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can use iTunes Match on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 90 days"
I can neither purchase another computer for solving this situation nor want to purchase another iTunes Match service on my wife's apple ID.
Please help me out to solve this issue.

You can only use one Apple ID with iTunes match. Purchasing another match subscription using wife's Apple ID is not a solution. I can only suggest that you use your ID for match and all iTunes music purchases.

I bought music from iTunes and downloaded it to my iPad. I have enabled iTunes Match on my PC (where most of my music is stored). When I turned on iTunes Match on iPad it said "iTunes Match will replace the music library" on my iPad. All of my iPad music is saved on iCloud, and some of my PC music is on iCloud. If I use iTunes Match will the music previously downloaded on my iPad be lost?
Thanks!!You need to either sync the iPad with iTunes so it will transfer the purchases to the iTunes library or download them from the purchase history. Then let iTM work on the "new" tracks in the library then all the music will be available on the iPad.

iTunes Match only applies to music. If you mean that you want to stream your movies rather than having to download them to your device, that to the best of my knowledge is not possible, at least as of this time.

Is there anyone out there who pre-ordered on the 3rd and still has not received their iPhone???
I pre-ordered on the third and received an email on the fourth saying my phone had shipped. I checked FedEx with the tracking # Verizon provided and I still get the same status that I got on the 4th. It says the order has been "initiated". The next step would be "picked up", but here it is nine days after I pre-ordered and no phone!!! Hasn't even shipped!!!
Is there anyone who is experiencing the same problems???I have been going back forth with Verizon and UPS and Verizon is blaming UPS and told me it's out of their hands once it ships. UPS is saying they're doing their best to get the package back to NJ where I am. I also tried cancelling my order with Verizon and was told it could not be cancelled because the package has shipped. I was told if I wanted another phone I'd have to pay for it again. No one knows where my phone is UPS says they have misrouted a trailer full of Iphones. I don't know how true that is.

Is there anyone out there happy with Media Encoder?
After almost year of working with CS4 under both XP 32 bit and now Windows 7 64 bit, I am delighted with Photoshop and After Effects, tolerant of the defects in Premiere, and absolutely insanely angry about Adobe Media Encoder. I have spent a great deal of time following other people's posts and recommended "fixes." None have made the slightest difference in the ponderous performance and frequent crashing, especially when exporting AC3 files through Surcode.
I have tested this setup with no greater happiness on clean installs with NOTHING else on the computer but CS4 with all updates. These systems have all significantly exceeded Adobe's requirements for the software.
I have used in that time three different motherboards. I have worked with Premiere for years, literally since version 3. A have loads of experience optimizing computers for video. I also have lots of experience with other editing systems, having done in-depth reviews of NLEs for DV Magazine for a number of years. This is not to say that I have not missed something, but the consistent complaints I see reveal a critical lack of attention to the broken bits of this system.
I see lots of posts on this and other forums about the poor performance of AME. I see very few where anyone is happy with the software.
My current 2-hour project which loads into Premiere in under a minute can take 20 or 30 minutes to load in AME. Even when exporting only audio, AME appears to launch PPheadless and render all video frames before getting to the audio, and I have repeated issues with the program locking up when exporting more than 20-25 minutes of audio.
The decision to remove all direct exporting ability from Premiere and use the often broken Dynamic Link to AME was a gross mistake which in my opinion takes Premiere off the table for any professional shop. I do not do work for hire, but I cannot imagine explaining to a client who is paying by the hour why we have to sit and wait for fifteen or twenty minutes for AME to load the project that was already loaded in PP to just export a brief section. The architectural decision might be OK if all the bits that were involved were bulletproof and reliable, but the ImportProcessServer.exe and other dynamic link bits are clearly the source of problems for many people.
So here's my question: is there ANY professional end user out there that is happy with the current incarnation of AME and the decision to remove direct export ability from PP?What format(s) do you work in? What length of project? Do you output to AC3? I have no problems with AME for short projects or to output the same size/format -- for instance, I can usually output full HD for Blu-Ray but experience lots of crashes if scaling down to SD for DVD. The crashes also occur above certain lengths, usually 20 min +. With audio, I can output 5.1 uncompressed WAV in the same format (for instance, 16 bit) but if I try to output 24 bit (which AME is supposed to be able to do) I get "Encoding Failed - Unknown error." In fact the error log is ALL that very helpful message, always when transcoding to another format/bit depth/size. When outputting 5.1 to AC3, AME freezes up and fails at around 20 minutes.
Our systems are very silimar -- the current system is i7 proc with 6gb ddr3 ram on a gygabite GA-EX58-UD3R.

But the workflow I use is something that CS4 is SUPPOSED to be able to do. And the very unusual issue is that I have seen posts about the same type of errors (with ImportProcessServer etc) on Macs as well. -

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

King Penguin's advice is always sound, spot on and he has really give you the best all around solution for what you want to do....but you can also delete your music directly from the iPad and download it again when you want it again. These days, not all people use iTunes with their iPads and many iPad owners dont even own computers. I assume that you do have a computer running iTunes since you asked about iTunes Match, but since you didn't know how ITM works, maybe you don't own a computer, so I'm just offering another alternative.
You can go to Settings>General>Usage>Manage Storage>Music and remove music in there via the Edit button as well as swiping across songs or albums in the music app in order to get the red delete button. If you want to download the music again, just go to the purchased tab of the iTunes app, tap on Music, Not on this iPad and all of your purchased music will appear. You can also go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show All Music>on. That will make all of your music in the cloud appear in the music app and you can tap on the cloud icon in order to download the songs again.
The only caveat to this solution is that of the music is no longer available in the iTunes Store, you cannot download it again. On occasion, things do get removed from the iStores, so it is possible that could happen.
