Is this an iPhone or AT&T issue?

I'm getting mixed impressions from both Apple and AT&T on this, so thought I'd ask on here and see what the consensus is with a few issues I have.
1. Volume is too low, even at max volume. Probably an iPhone issue, I think. If so, is this something they can fix with a software upgrade or is the quality of the speaker not good enough to go higher without loss of sound quality?
2. Sound quality of phone calls is not good. I switched from Sprint, who I was with for 5 years. They had a nice, robust signal. The person sounded like there were close, very clear sound. With the iPhone (or AT&T), calls sound somewhat distant and break up fairly often. I'm in New Orleans, so I would think that service here should be pretty decent, even post-Katrina. I've had 2 calls drop already, on the network that claims to have the fewest dropped calls. And dropped randomly, not going through a tunnel or in an elevator. Standing out in the open in my backyard actually. I also get a lot of noise and not only do callers sound far away and very thin/tin can like, but it also often breaks up and the signal will cut in and out requiring me to have the caller repeat things.
I feel really disappointed in this respect. The phone is great, I love it in general, but having been with Sprint for 5 years, I guess I got a little spoiled, because the call quality was leaps and bounds better than what I have now.

Yes, I reset it initially because it locked up on me about 5 minutes into use. It's been working fine since then, but the volume and signal quality is just weak. I was actually in Orlando over the weekend with it and had the same lousy signal quality that I have here in New Orleans. It stinks, because I really love this phone otherwise. I can find very little to complain about and certainly nothing that software updates won't "correct". It exceeds my expectations, but man... this signal quality and volume is maddening.

I cant send pic messages to iphone users. I get the error message:  "one or more of the message components have been delted by MMS Adaptation.  Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your handset".  This only seems to be an issue to iphones.  I like this phone but have had nothing but trouble since day one.  I am so tired of being on the phone with verizon and still not getting all the problems corrected.  Someone please help!

    Hello christina267,
Help is right here, front and center! Let's get your mms working properly. May I ask are you using the original stock messaging app to send texts and mms? Also, are you using any special characters or emojis in your message? Since you state that the issue is to iPhones, did you happen to have used an iPhone on your mobile number just before you were using the Galasy S 5? As you share the details then we can investigate.
    Thank you…

  • ITunes store won't accept my password from my iPhone 5 this morning. Ideas? Know issues?

iTunes store won't accept my password from my iPhone 5 this morning. Ideas? Know issues?
And no matter how many times nor what I change the password to I cannot log in to purchase music.
    Help!

I tried "resetting" my password, but b****y iTunes just keeps asking me for ANOTHER password, and won't accept the password I want to use! I'm getting mighty fed up with iTunes - I'm a senior citizen, and my memory isn't as sharp as it might have been, so passwords HAVE to be fairly simple and OBVIOUS to me. I can't just keep thinking up new passwords because they are getting more and more irrelevant, and I will NEVER remember them.
What am I supposed to do now?
I can't use my iPhone when I'm out of the house, because it won't recognise my new email address and password. I can't use BTFON because it needs my password, which I can't get iTunes to accept.
I can't get the bloody thing to do anything, and although it cost me £600 when I bought it 2 years ago, I'm not very happy with it any more because I just can't get the thing to do anything.
    HELP!!!!

  • Iphone 4s phone call issues

I just bought an iphone4s, white, 32gb. Sometimes when I make a phone call the person that I am ringing cannot hear me but I can hear them. I have to turn the phone off and then on again, then call them before they can hear me.  I dont have the phone in a cover as yet. Is anyone else having the same problem and is there a solution?

Since the latest updates to iOS, I'm hearding more issues reported to my company where iPhone users are not able to be routed correctly in our IVR. From the PBX, I'm seeing such as the following example: Callers dialing an extension 312, for example are able to dial 31, but the 2 is not responding on the iPhone. When the caller does eventually get the 2 to go through, the PBX states 31 is an invalid extension, and then registeres the 2 as a new entry, which is our Sales Queue option. I have confirmed this on my iPhone 4S.
Dialing in the main keypas dialer on the iPhone is fine. However, the additional, smaller keypad for IVR nagivation use is not.
IF the keypad is fine on the iphone, but not smaller keyboard whatever that is, what makes it an iphone/Apple or software issue.

  • IPhone 5s battery life issues

    hi guys
I feel like there is a problem with my iphone 5s. the battery life is really bad compared to my last iphone 5. I used to be able to charge my phone at the end of the day and would till have 40% or 50% left. now with this new iphone, it reaches down to 10% or simply dies by the time I  get home at 6pm. I have turned off everything and i have searched google for all sorts of turn off tweaks so i could get the maximum battery life, but its still really awful. i listen to music for about 20 mins while on the underground train and later i might or might not get a text message or two and that is about it; the phone still yet loses all of its battery life while doing absolutely nothing. today i unplugged it from the charger and it suddenly went down to 99% right in front of my eyes.
i am going to the apple store on Tuesday to ask them if they could check it out. so my question is;  have i missed something here or is everyone's phones are as such but not even one person is talking about it or they just don't care or embarrassed to talk about it, or what ????
btw my last iphone and this one are both 64GB black.

I have had the 5s for a week now, and I am having the same issue. I have restored the phone three times now, twice through iCloud backup and once through iTunes. I have shut down all functions of the phone as suggested, which is stupid, that's the whole point of having the iPhone, and anytime I do anything with the phone, the battery drains 5 - 10%, and its quick things like, checking email, then quickly closing that app, sending a couple text messages, and listening to one voice mail and I am down to 50 %. Not sure if it is ios7 or a 5s issue, all I know is last week I had a iPhone 4 that I had everything turned on all the time, I checked email constantly, text frequently, made calls and used the Internet and easily went three days without concern. Now I'm scared to check the time for fear of draining battery on the new phone. I also had the  battery completely drain  twice now and then charged it to 100%, and that has not helped either.  I was much better off with my iphone 4 that I could at least use, and wish I had not traded it in at time of purchase. No point in having a phone that I have to disable all functionality and try not to use unless I know I am going to be near a outlet. So disappointed!!!!  First time I have ever been mad enough to make a comment on a forum!

They will help you just make sure that you make a appointment before you go into the store. Also if the iPhone needs to be replaced and you are not within your year of hardware coverage, that is when they will ask you to pay a fee.

    Hi, Jam 974.
Here is an article I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.
iTunes for Windows: iTunes can't contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server

    Check for hardware issues
    Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

  • Another unhappy iPhone 3GS user - SIGNAL issues

I have recently (2wks ago) received an iPhone 3GS from Vodafone UK.
Which like many other users has a problem holding a signal.
In the house I can't even hold a 2G signal and that is in a "good to excellent 3G area".
And 3G is hardly ever possible in the house.
Now this continues to be a BIG issue outside the house which is apparently an "Excellent 3G area".
It drops signal at the drop of a hat.
Many people are reporting the same issues on the Vodafone forums but we keep getting fobbed off.
And I notice other people here too mentioning signal issues.
Am well fed-up of this and feel well ripped off - the phone barely functions for the purpose it was meant for "PHONE".
I have tried all the scripted useless help Vodafone give out - does anyone have any suggestions ???

FWIW, I think it's down to a poor receiver, not an 'inherent fault' as you suggest.
If you want to take it further, then I suggest a legal route if Vodafone aren't sympathetic.
You won't get any more useful advice here, because there is no more to give!
Actually, there is some more advice. Recently, Vodafone have started to push their 'Sure Signal' box. Guaranteed signal in your home via wi-fi for £50. It's a no-brainer for you I would suggest.

My mac mail on both the desk top and Iphone is having multiple issues downloading e-mail from my At&t

You can get faster help by posting the Mac OS version you have and more details about your iMac. They have been in continuous productionsince 1998 with four distinct procesor families, and each ahve different troubleshooting steps. If you called a Ford dealer about a car problem, the first thing ithey will ask is "which Ford model and year?" Same deal here.
The processor description is found when you do "About this Mac" and will be a good start for identifying your iMac model; the Mac OSX will be there too.

  • IPhone 4 Defective - Other Issue

    Hi I have a question,
I made a Genius Bar appointment for this already, and here is my issue:
I purchased my iPhone 4 32GB from an Apple Store about 27 days ago. I never had this problem before, but I just noticed about a week ago, on the display right about in the center a little up there is a small circle (in a black outline). The circle isn't filled with a color, it's just a black outline odd shaped circle. I gave it a week to see if it might go away, but I still have the problem.
Now, if I take my iPhone 4 32GB to the genius bar appointment, will they give me a brand new iPhone since it hasn't been 30 full days yet? Stuff like this really dissapoint me that I pay close to $400 for a device, and things like this occur, and I would be just as disapointed if Apple gives me a "refurbished" device instead of brand new..
    Any thoughts? thanks

The iPhone has a proximity and light sensor which is located above the earpiece with the iPhone 4. These are located above the earpiece with the original iPhone as well and are located to the left of the earpiece with the 3G and 3GS.
Per the written warranty, an exchange under warranty will be a new or refurbished iPhone with no way to tell the difference, and the exchange remains under the warranty for the original purchase. An exchange under warranty is called a service unit and is provided in a plain box with the iPhone only regardless if the exchange is new or refurbished. A refurbished iPhone includes a new exterior and a new battery, and all other components are inspected and tested and replaced if needed. When a new iPhone model is released, it isn't likely that Apple will have any refurbished iPhones available for an exchange under warranty within the first 30 days after the initial release date, and a 27 day old iPhone that has been activated and used for 27 days is no longer new. Would you prefer that Apple take your existing iPhone apart and repair/replace whatever needs to be repaired or replaced if needed?
It doesn't matter how much an electronic device or any type of product costs. As long as humans are involved, there will be hardware failures. As an example, a Mercedes costs more than the average car - visit a local Mercedes dealership and it will be full or Mercedes being worked on for items covered under the vehicle's warranty.

  • Iphone 3G S speaker issues with SMS

My new iphone has a speaker issue. When I get a text message, email, or alert the first one sounds like the speaker is blown out or distorted. However, if I go into setting to recreate the sound, it's normal. It seems to be just on the first text if the phone has been sitting for like 5 minutes. I called Apple and they said to do a restore and set up as a new phone. Did that and it is still doing it. Has anyone else had this problem or swapped their phones out yet? Just want to know if this is a hardware or software issue. I am leaning towards software because if it was hardware wouldn't it do it everytime?

I believe it may be a Sofware problem. Others are having various issues with sound as well...

  • A list of known iPhone 4S' iOS 6 issues?

    Hello.
It seems like many people are having issues with iOS 6 upgrade on their old iPhones (not the new 5). Is there a list of known iPhone 4S' iOS 6 issues of them so far?
    Thank you in advance.

From this discussion   https://discussions.apple.com/message/16977127#16977127  the pairing is reported as possible.
Pairing of your iPhone with other iPhone was not successfull. May be not done in the right way.
iPhone pair with many BT devices without any problem.  I have Samsung Headset and they work.
I would suggest you go the the shop and ask them to try with an head phone or let an Apple store check your BT.

  • Iphone 5s have wifi issue after upgraded to ios8.

Iphone 5S have wifi issue afetr upgraded to IOS 8. Does Apple know about this?? Its really frustrating the signal is weak.

If you look at google there are some problems with ios8 and it happens to be wifi issue for me.
If I look at google, I will find that people reporting problems with every version of iOS. And accounts of being abducted by aliens. Just because you are having a WiFi issue does not necessarily mean the issue is with iOS 8 (correlation does not prove causality). Until you've done proper trouble shooting (or had Apple do it for you if you don't feel equipped), it's almost impossible to say why you are having a problem.
My iPhone 5S is not having any issues with iOS 8.

  • IPhone 5S heating up issues

New apple iPhone 5S heating up issues in a day. Please give a solution or why it is happening ?

I was having the same problem and also loosing battery life - it suddenly happened.  I went online and saw where someone said to get rid of all the unused apps still sitting there, deleted all the old posts and yea!   suddenly the problem has been fixed.   Hadn't deleted the unused apps in quite sometime, so obviously draining everything.
