Is Windows Server 2003 R2 Entreprise Edition Service Pack 2 supported?

I tried to install ColdFusion 9 but wasn't able to finish.
My OS is  - Windows Server 2003 R2 Entreprise Edition Service Pack 2
Regards
mangeo

Here is what I read from the http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/systemreqs/ page:
Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional with Service Pack 3;
Windows 2000 Server, Advanced Server, or Datacenter Server with Service Pack 3;
Windows Server® 2003 Web, Standard, or Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 1 and R2;
Windows Server 2008;
Windows XP Professional or Home Edition; or Windows Vista® with Service Pack 2
So, it seems the SP2 of the Microsoft Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition is not supported.
Is it true?

  • Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition 32 bits Service Pack 2 never finishes searching for updates and use 100% of CPU.

Hi everyone, I am having issues updating a clean Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition 32 bits Service Pack 2, so any help with be appreciated cause I've already tried all my cards for the past 5 days in this particular issue without success.
All I did so far is installing Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise with Service Pack 2, open IE to update, it keeps searching for updates and never stop, after 20mn to 30mn the process svchost.exe start using 100% of my CPU.
I already tried the following scenarios:
1-  Install IE8, install the update KB927891 and the Windows Update Agent 3.0 (I already had this one installed). Reboot and run windows update trough IE8 and the problem did not solved.
2- Install those 2 software "MicrosoftFixit.wu.MATSKB.Run" and "MicrosoftFixit50777", open IE to update, it still hangs and continues eating my CPU. This is the output of "MicrosoftFixit".
Windows Update error 0x8007000D(2014-01-06-T-06_06_34A) --> Not Fixed
Cryptographic service components are not registered (This service is actually running successfully) --> Not Fixed
3- I found the following script that would register some DLL, deleting the "SoftwareDistribution" and forcing windows update to solve the problem and nothing happened either.
    Link to script:

Herein is the root cause of your issue. A topic that's been discussed in several blogs, forums, and even in the media since September regards a known issue with attempting to patch IE6 RTM via Windows Update.
Aside from that particular issue... browsing the Internet with an unpatched instance of IE6, especially from a Windows Server system, is also asking for a world of hurt.
    Might I suggest the following:
Download the IE8 for Windows Server 2003 installer to a thumb drive.
Download the latest Cumulative Security Update for IE8 for Windows Server 2003 to a thumb drive.
Reinstall Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 2.
Upgrade to IE8 from the thumb drive installer and apply the
    Cumulative Security Update.
Now your machine is capable of safely browsing to Windows Update to install the rest of the updates (well, maybe, there's also all those other Security Updates from the past seven years that your machine still has vulnerabilites for -- even those seven
years of updates are going to take a Very Long Time to scan for, download, and install).

  • What do you recommend to resize a partition on Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP2?

I am running Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP2 and only have 2.74GB of hard drive space left on a 11.9 GB hard drive.  My D:\ drive has 37.5GB of free space left on a 124GB Hard drive.  I would like to know what software is
recommended to repartition drive size or another way to repartition drive.
    Thanks

You just need to shrink partition D and get some unallocated space, and then you can extend the system drive with the Unallocated space. There is no need to delete or format partitions.
The most important is guarantee data security. I have such experience resizing partitions.
The partition tool required reboot to  process, after a while power off in my office, I know the Server must be damaged. Later, when I turn it on, I cannot believe, it continue to process and reboot to desktop several minutes later. What a lucky man.

  • JDK issues with Windows Server 2003 SP2 Standard Edition

    Hi,
We are running an ETL (Extracts-Transform-Load) Jar file which reads data from MS Commerce Server 2002, AS400 and SQL Server 2000 database and populates a SQL Server 2000 database. The jar was running fine on Windows Server 2000 but started to stall when we are running it from our newly acquired Windows Server 2003 SP2 server class machine. The JDK version is 1.4 on Windows 2000 and 1.6 on Windows Server 2003. Interestingly, the jar is running fine via JDK 1.6 on another Windows Server 2003 dev machine.
The jar does not throw any error and we have to manually shutdown the execution of the jar.
Can anyone please suggest some solutions here?
    Thank you!

Um, does this have anything to do with JavaMail? If not, you might try a more appropriate forum.

  • (Windows Server 2003) Cannot run SQLSERVERAGENT service under non admin user after SP1 Installation

    Hi All,
I need a hand here, referring to this knowledge base on Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q283811) i applied this knowledge base, and it worked, the MSSQL and SQLSERVERAGENT have run under local non admin account.
But after i installed SP1, MSSQL service is ok, but SQLSERVERAGENT wont run. The warning message is : "Some service run and then stop if they have no work to do."
Is there any way i can install SP1 but in the same time run SQLSERVERAGENT under local non admin account?
Your assistance will be much appreciated
thank you very much in advance.
    Felix Adhitya

Please go to the windows services list and check that the service is configured as start Automatic first
    1. run -> services.msc -> look for a service named "SQL Server Agent" -> proporties
    2. make sure the startup type is Automatic
    3. start the service again.
    4. If it stop then post for us the full error message from the sql log file
    5. move to the "Log On" tab and check what Log on you are using (this will be used for next step if startup type Automatic did not help, therefore write this information).

    Hello guys,
I am not able to start Indesign Server CS4 service on windows Server 2003 SP2 64bit .
I have successfuly configured the service with InDesignServerService.msc, set the port to 18555. InDesignServerWinService the Log On option is set to "This Account". Also tried using different accounts!
When starting the indesign service from windows Service control panel I get this error:
Could not start the InDesignServerService x64 service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
Error log from windows Event viewer:

Indesign server application works if launching from command line with the specified port 18555.
If trying to lauch IndesignServerService.exe from command line, there is a delay and finally nothing happens.
I have also tried launching 32bit indesign server service and the same error comes.
Would be grateful for your thoughts!

    Hi Chandi,
          If Microsoft fix is not working or it is too old to apply then go for manual process i.e.;
In the Microsoft KB article follow this :-
Services that use the local system account to log on to a Windows Server 2003-based computer start if the Allow service to interact with desktop
option is turned on. To turn this option on, follow these steps:
In the Services tool, click the service that you want to start, and then click Properties.
Right-click the Log On tab, and then click to select the Allow service to interact with desktop check box.
Click OK to exit the Properties dialog box.
       This will solve your problem.

  • Cannot Edit Group Policies - Windows Server 2003 R2

    Hello, everyone.
I have a server running Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition Service Pack 2 32-bit. Group policies were working fine until sometime last week. Now, whenever I would launch GPMC, I would get an error message that said "Windows cannot find gpedit.msc.
Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again.' Then, after I click OK, I would get another error message that said "Failed to start the group policy snap-in. The gpedit.msc file may be missing, files with the .msc extension may not be associated
with mmc.exe, or you may not have the appropriate rights."
I removed GPMC to see if that would work, but I still get the same error messages when I try to edit group policies through ADUC.  I also tried de-registering and re-registering the gpedit .dll files but I did not have any luck.
Is there anything else I can try? I do not have any group policies that I need to deploy at the moment, but I would like to get this fixed as soon as possible.

    > snap-in. The gpedit.msc file may be missing, files with the .msc
    > extension may not be associated with mmc.exe, or you may not have the
    > appropriate rights."
So you verified that gpedit.msc exists and that it can be launched
    through "run"?
    > de-registering and re-registering the gpedit .dll files but I did not
How did you do that exactly?

  • Cold fusion 8 and Windows Server 2003 Administrator Login

I cannot seem to login to my coldfusion (trial version)
administrator login after installed successfully on my Windows
Server 2003 with Web Edition Service Pack 2.
It tries to go here which is correct
    http://127.0.0.1/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm

I attempted to go through IIS through default Web Sites and
    browsed over to

Is there anything special I need to do, perhaps in Web
Service Extentions in IIS or something since I don't see
"Coldfusion" mentioned anywhere, and I can't seem to find any clear

  • Oracle 10g on Windows Server 2003 Standard 64bit

We are running Oracle 10g on Windows Server 2003 Standard 64bit Edition. I am NOT a DBA, so forgive my ignorance.
We have 16GB of physical memory in this server. I was told by a DBA that Oracle runs on "a single process", and because of that, he said that Windows Server 2003 Standard will only allow 2GB max for a single process.
    Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

This sounds more lika a Windows issue. If both Windows and app is "64-bit", I would expect the user virtual address space (per process) to be in the TiB range, if not larger.
(The said 2GiB limit applies to a 32-bit system.)

  • How to install Oracle 9i (9.2.0.2) in Windows Server 2003 x64 - Intel Xeon

I have tried to install Oracle 9i (9.2.0.2) in Windows Server 2003 x64 Enterprise Edition with Intel Xeon (EM64T) processors.
When I run setup.exe I get an error: "The image file C:\Documents and settings\administrator.SERVERNAME\my documents\92021 win64_disk1\setup.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine".
I have to install Oracle 9i in that server but I can't run the installation. Is there a way to solve this problem, is there a patch that can solve this? Anyone know something about this problem?
    Thanks a lot!!!
    I'm desperated!!

    Hi,
    reply to my own question:
In the docs provided with the downloads for Oracle Database Server 9i x64, I found that this version requires either
    - Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition for 64-Bit Itanium 2 Systems
    or
    - Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition for 64-Bit Itanium 2 Systems
So I guess, the only X64 platform being supported under Windows Server 2003 (both Datacenter / Enterprise Editions) is Itanium CPUs ...
... though this is not (!!!) clearly stated in the download link (other/newer versions are listed more precisely - I guess it's a matter of an old link: no Intel Xeon / AMD Opterons were available (???) when Oracle 9i database server was published).
So I'll give it a try with 10g database server ;-)))

  • Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 ISO

    Bryan -
I'm not sure that replacing the card is an option.  It's of the age where the card and the drive cage mate up.  I'm not just attaching the drives directly to the controller card.
However..since it's Adaptec, they may well have a working Linux driver.  Linux isn't something we deal with much at all in our shop, or any of the shops we interact with.

  • MS14-044 for SQL Server 2008 Standard on Windows Server 2003?

MS14-044 was recently released and states that it applied to MS SQL Server 2008 SP3, yet the patches available for this security bulletin do not list Windows Server 2003 in the supported operating systems. Does MS14-044 not apply to SQL Server running
on Windows Server 2003? If it does apply, why isn't there an update available to run on Windows Server 2003?

    Hi Chasg76,
According to your description, the patches available for MS14-044 do not list Windows Server 2003 in the supported operating systems and you want to know whether MS14-044 applies to SQL Server running on Windows Server
    2003.
Based on my test, KB2977321 applies to SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3 product and it does apply to SQL Server 2008 SP3 running on Windows Server 2003.
I installed SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3 in Windows Server 2003 SP2 x86. After the service pack 3 installation completed, KB2977321 was offered in the Automatic Update.
Besides, you can manually install the update by downloading the update form the Download Center web site as well.
I also tried the manually installation and I downloaded the Security Update for SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3 (KB2977321) from this web: Security Update for SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3 (KB2977321) (https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/MS14-044),
    it was installed successfully.
After installed security upgrade, I checked the file attributes and compared to this article: MS14-044: Description of the security update for SQL Server 2008 SP3 (GDR): August 12, 2014(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2977321/en-us).
    The result is the same.
According to my test, MS14-044 applies to SQL Server running on Windows Server 2003 even though Windows Server 2003 is not listed in the supported operating systems.
    Best regards,
