Is XMLTYPE not supported in Oracle Lite?

I tried to create a XMLTYPE column in Oracle Lite. I am getting this error.
[POL-5147] this feature is not supported. Is XMLTYPE not supported in oracle lite ?
Can anyone help me understand how to create XMLTYPE column in oracle lite?
Thanks..

Or you could say that they are supported, but sharpening, moire and de-noise are not available (or just set to default), which is actually more Canon's fault. sRAW is a major mess and we're very lucky it's even supported in AP3, finally.

  • How to incorporate a Language that is not supported in Oracle Portal

    Hi,
I want to know the preferred way to add support for a new language in Oracle Portal.
If a language is not supported in Oracle Portal, how I can add the content for that language in the Portal?
    Please advise.
    Best Wishes.

I've seen this in a statement of direction presentation as an enhancement for R11. So this should be a R11 feature. In the meantime you might investigate the NLS views and tables and try to find a way to extend this. BUT just in an emergency case and you have to know that is not supported (also you may lose support in general for this installation when hacking the repository). So I cannot recommend this with a clear conscience. You have to know exactly what you're doing.
You can also open a SR to get an official statement from support. Maybe there's a note for this.

  • JDK/JRE Version support for Oracle Lite

    Hi,
We have developed an application using jdk 1.4.x which also using Oracle9i Lite 5.0.2 release as a database. Application behaves normal except while closing it throws java exception (Exceptio Guard Page Exception) error.
Is it because of the JDK Version we are using? What is the JDK/JRE version level supported by Oracle Lite.
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Right
I got the same problem too.
When my program and oracle 9i lite is running under JRE1.3.1, everything is ok.
However, when i migrate the jre to 1.4.x, the program must fail and report DLL exception after closing.
    So trouble~!

  • FDM is not supported on Oracle RAC?  Why not?

[http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/fdm_11113_readme.pdf|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/fdm_11113_readme.pdf] We are in the process of implementing Oracle Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management (FDM) version 11.1.1.3 as part of our Hyperion Essbase BI environment. I read over the documentation prior to building the databases, but apparently I missed an important bit of information. It seems that FDM is not supported on Oracle RAC. I just noticed this under in the "Known Issues" section of the FDM 11.1.1.3 release notes, and that was only one sentence. The release notes do not explain why this is the case.
    - Does anyone know why FDM release 11.1.1.3 is not supported for Oracle RAC?
    - Has this always been the case?
    - Can a single node database, running on an Oracle 10.2.0.4 two node RAC environment, be used instead of building a separate, stand-alone database?
Link to readme document. The reference to RAC support, or non-support, is on page 6:

  • "Your browser is not supported by Oracle BI Presentation Services"

    Hi,
I have installed obiee11.1.1.5 on windows 7 and i am using Firefox 12.0 latest version. When I am trying to open analytics through firefox12.0 i am getting warning like “Your browser is not supported by Oracle BI Presentation Services” and it is opening in IE but charts are not displayed. Can any one tell me the solution for this?
Edited by: Uma on Apr 26, 2012 5:24 AM

    Hi Uma,
good that your issue is resolved. we are generally modifying/adding the header to override the existing version to previous version, so instead of using the FF10+ header we are just modifying it to FF9 inorder to make it work
The UA string of Firefox itself is broken down into four components:
    Mozilla/5.0 (platform; rv:geckoversion) Gecko/geckotrail Firefox/firefoxversion
Mozilla/5.0 is the general token that says the browser is Mozilla compatible, and is common to almost every browser today.
platform describes the native platform the browser is running on (e.g. Windows, Mac, or Linux). Note that platform can consist of multiple "; "-separated tokens. See below for further details and examples.
rv:geckoversion indicates the release version of Gecko (such as "10.0"). From Firefox 5.0 and Gecko 5.0 onwards, geckoversion is the same as firefoxversion (described below).
Gecko/geckotrail indicates that the browser is based on Gecko. geckotrail is "20100101" in desktop release builds and does not represent the actual build date of the browser. For desktop development builds, geckotrail presently indicates the build date of the browser, but this is likely to change in the future. Starting February 1st 2012, geckotrail is the same as geckoversion and firefoxversion in Firefox for Android with a native front end (aka. Fennec Native).
Firefox/firefoxversion indicates the browser is Firefox, and provides the version (such as "11.0").
    Thanks,

  • UTF8 support in Oracle Lite

I looks to me like Oracle Lite doesn't support the UTF8 character set for storing data. Is this correct?
I have an Oracle 8.1.7 database using UTF8 to store English, Thai, Chinese and Philippino data, and I want to synchronise that with Oracle Lite on Windows 2000 clients. The sync seems to work ok, but any non-english characters are lost in a characterset conversion (display as "?").
    Regards
    Steve

I'm a bit confused by your reply. Can Oracle Lite store data in a unicode characterset such as UTF8? It looks to me like the "UTF-8 support" is limited to the drivers, so that it can load and extract utf-8 data, but not store it. From section 2.2.1 of the release notes:
"Oracle Lite Database is NOT a NLS component. In order to reduce the kernel size, it is built for each language which supports native character sets for Windows. Which means, each language has each kernel. Here are the character sets supported by this release:
    - Chinese: MS936 CodePage (Simplified Chinese GBK, ZHS)
    - Taiwanese: MS950 CodePage (Traditional Chinese BIG5, ZHT)
    - Japanese: MS932 CodePage (Japanese Shift-JIS, JA)
    - Korean: MS949 CodePage (Korean, Ko)
The database kernel for each language in this list only supports its corresponding character set. Other multibyte character sets are not supported."
Also the documentation on the DBCharEncoding parameter you mention suggests that it only affects the UTF translation for java programs. Section A.2.3:
"... Specifies the UTF translation performed by Oracle Lite. If set to NATIVE, no UTF translation is performed. If set to UTF8, UTF translation is performed. If this parameter is not specified, the default is UTF8. This applies to Java programs only."
I've tried playing with these parameters, as well as changing the NLS_LANG parameter on the client, and for the mobile server, for the Oracle Lite home, all to no avail. I'm still losing the non-english data during synchronisation and it does look like it's being lost in a character set conversion rather than just being garbled, as each Thai characters is being replaced by the correct number of "?"s. As an example the Thai string "บริษัท บราเดอร์ คอมเมอร์เชี่ยล (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด" on the 8.1.7 database sever appears as "?????? ???????? ?????????????? (?????????) ?????" on the oracle lite database.
Am I missing something here? If I can get this data syncronising correctly then Oracle Lite looks like it will support all our requirments so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. (Should I post this to the globilization forum or does that focus only on Oracle's enterprise editions?)
BTW, thanks for the info on the sorting. Obviously the characterset issue is more a fundamental problem at this stage, but if we can fix this then it's good to know about the sorting abilities.

  • NFS not supported in ORACLE VM???

    Hi All,
I have installed Oracle VM server 2.2 and on top of that I have created 2 vms using OVM template (template is : OVM_EL5U2_X86_64_PVM_4GB) . Now I want to create one shared partition between these two created VMs, I am using simple "nfs" in mount command, it will not give any error but it also not mounted.
What is the reason? Does VM template not supported nfs filesystem or what?
Any suggestion if I want to share any partition between those created VMs?
    Thanks...

    Hi,
if you just want to share a device between 2 guests running on the same server (or in the same serverpool with the same storage), why not simply add a shared disk?
This can be done via. OVM manager, or you can simple add the shared images with the w! flag in the vm.cfg:
    disk = ['file:/var/ovs/mount/9EAC332154064688B8D112132DA91A1A/running_pool/vm1/System.img,xvda,w',
    'file:/var/ovs/mount/43ABF76E65B24586A4330413C93B51EF/sharedDisk/shared1.img,xvdb,w!',
However if you absolutely need an NFS share (from the OVS server), be aware that a standard OVS Server has the firewall enabled...
    Disable it via:
    # system-config-securitylevel
And start the NFS service + do the export:
    # service nfs start
    # exportfs *:/path

  • Objects (XMLType) not supported in nonblocking mode?

    Hi,
In 11g OCI guide Nonblocking mode section,
it said "The following features and functions are not supported in nonblocking mode:...objects".
It looks like if we're selecting embedded objects like XMLType, we can't use nonblocking mode.
In fact, when I set nonblocking mode on my previously working simple program that selects XMLType from a table, it does not work anymore and returns ORA-03123 right away.
In GUI or transaction-based application that needs to select embedded objects like XMLType, I'm wondering what approach can be done to make those select nonblocking?
    thanks,
    Terrence

Is there something I am missing,

I did redefine the table, so all columns that are part of PK index and used in my SQL statement are data type NUMBER.
My unique index is (dc_nbr, company_nbr, offering_group_id, offering_id), the same columns are used in my WHERE clause.
Still Oracle Lite always builds the large temporary table before it goes to this temp table and sequentially reads and returns first 19 records.

  • Pooled Connection not supported in oracle forms 11g

    Dear all,
I am using oracle from builder (11.1.1.4) and oracle database 11g Release 2. I can connect to the database from oracle forms 11g, when I use a dedicated or shared server connection mentioned in the tnsnames.ora file . But I want to use the oracle database 11g's new feature DRCP (Database Resident Connection Polling).
To do this a made a another POOLED connection (SERVER=POOLED) in the tnsnames.ora.I can connect to the 11g r2 database server from sqlplus using POOLED connection. But when I try it from form builder (11.1.1.1.4) it gives error with some unknown characters.
Then I tried it in linux frmcmp the message i got in terminal is can not *"Cannot obtain ORACLE version number"*
I have googled and also checked in metalink. But I got nothing. Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't think this feature is feasible for forms.
    Quoting the documentation from
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28310/manproc002.htm
Database Resident Connection Pooling (DRCP) provides a connection pool in the database server for typical Web application usage scenarios where the application acquires a database connection, works on it for a relatively short duration, and then releases it.
Forms keeps a permanent connection to the database, so a connection pool isn't gonna help you in any way.
    cheers

    No email requires Java.
In the event you would like to Install Java under 10.6, look in your Utilities folder for Java Preferences. Open that and if java is not Instaled, it will offer to get the appropriate version from the correct source and install it for you.

For this, you need to start the service (and you should be installed 11g Database, not client) as follows:
isqlplusctl startThen using port number from $ORACLE_HOME/install/portlist.ini connect to GUI interface of SQL*Plus
