Issue At the time of Creating ASM instance through DBCA For 11g RAC db :

I have configured two node RAC with OEL5.
I have installed below software successfully under different home locations.
1) Clusterware :
2) ASM
3) Database
I want to run ASM instance under separate home but when i am executing dbca from ASM home location to create asm i am facing a problem which is not traceable by me. Please help me if any body has any idea on it.
Problem:
Sometime(displayed below) ASM instance is running from node 1 and some times from node 2. At a time ASM in both instance is not in online state. At the end dbca is displaying ORA-01034: ORACLE not available. Please let me know what may be the exact reason for this.

Yes you are right , I have to make to sure stock budget doesn't get credited.
If you remember in one of my other threads, i wanted to derive commitment item from Matl grp, it was for this purpose. I will derive commitment through matl group at the time of procurement / GR etc and assign a dummy commitment item to stock a/cs. Where as i will derive a consumption commiment item from consumption GLs.

ISSUE at the time of creating delievery.

hi guruus,
i am facing a serious issue and need your help.
I have created an order of a two materials "400000065 & 400000528" both material have stock available at FG '0004' storage locatioin and the material types are "Physican Sample".
when i am creating delievery of the order system is copying Zero delievery quantity for 400000065 but for 400000528 material system is picking actual quantity which was defined in order and also proposing the batches.
I could not understand that what is the problem i have defined both material on VCH1, Stocks are avaialble at MMBE in Unrestricted, there batches will be expire in 2010, there goods movement date is "31-12-2008" order date is "26-01-2009" and delievery date is "26-01-2009'
when I am trying to enter a delievery quantity at the time of VL01N then system is giving an Error "Only 0 pac of material 400000065 is available".
when I am trying batch split then sytem is giving me message that "Actual delievery quantity for item 00010 is 0, split is not necessary.

As the total open order stock is 37,779 and the available stock is 455 only that is the reason when you where creating delivery system is giving message that only 0 PAC of material is available
So you have totally 3 open orders with that material So either confirm that open orders by having some additional stock or close those sales orders and then you can do delivery for your present sales order

I have 3 questions
1 - Is the file needed to install ASM software is the same as the file need to install regular oracle software or they are 2 different installation files ?
2 - Do I need to create 2 oracle homes , one for ASM and one for regular oracle software or only one ORACLE_HOME is needed ?
3 - Do I need to run dbca once or twice to create the asm instance and database instance ?

Answer:The regular database uses normal file system but asm uses Raw devices which is not a file system at all it is just an empty disk.

actually you will need oracle home and asm home yes in 11g release 2 they added something being called grid infra structure and they made the cluster home and the asm home and the grid home combined in one home but it is not being called oracle home because oracle home is just for the oracle software.
3 - Do I need to run dbca once or twice to create the asm instance and database instance ?
In 10g yes 2 times you will do that and you can run it once and after you install ASM it asks you if you want to do anything else so you can do it once or twice.in 11g release 2 you dont use the dbca anymore to isntall asm you just use the grid software.

Trying to create ASM instance, thinks one already exists?

I've got a problem with creating the ASM instance. Basically, I've reinstalled (v11.1.0.6) clusterware, and two database software installs (one for asm, one for db) due to a san swap. Now, I believe that there is still a hangover to the original installation. When creating the ASM instance through DBCA on Windows, I get the following:
DBCA could not startup the ASM instance configured on this node. To proceed with ASM diskgroup management you need the ASM instance to be up and running. Do you want to recreate the ASM instance on this node?

DBCA will now create and start the ASM instance. After the ASM instance is started, you can create disk groups to be used as storage for your database.

I have a listener running (listener_rac), I have a similar problem with netca as it says I already have a listener called listener, which I do not, however, I have created listener_rac insteadDBCA created your listener... you can check on listener status
srvctl status nodeapps -n node01

if not start, start it by
Usage: srvctl start listener -n <node_name> [-l <lsnr_name_list>]

by the way, you cam use "netca" delete/recreate (listener_rac)

if you see asm on node01/node2... you can start them if thet offline

Using DBCA to create ASM instance; no member disks found

OK, we've been struggling with this for two days and we can't seem to find the magic mojo to get it working.
I've got two Redhat 64-bit machines running Oracle 10.2.0.3 on them. Clusterware is installed fine and communicating properly. We've installed ASMLib and created our ASM disks fine and they list correctly using the oracleasm utility.
Our problem is that when I go to create the ASM instance (using DBCA) the member disks do not show up. I have tried changing the "Disk Discovery Path", I've created listeners, started DBCA from different Oracle homes, re-installed, etc... nothing seems to work.
I've even seen a few threads where people have experienced the same problem but have not seen solutions. Anyone have ideas how I can resolve this issue?

Also, I see that you're using block devices while I am using raw devices. I know that
Oracle11 can utilize block devices, especially on RHEL 5, but I am not sure that
Oracle10g can do that.

I am facing one issue at the time of creation of transfer order for inbound delivery.
If I create inbound delivery for purchase order with account assignment as 'M' (Ind. cust. w/o KD-CO), inbound delivery is not updated. Also document flow for inbounde delivery s not updated. I can create N number of transfer orders for on inbound delivery. Need help to resolve issue.
If I create inbound delivery for purchase order with account assignment other than 'M' (Ind. cust. w/o KD-CO), inbound delivery and document flow is updated.

I have passed more steps, CSS is started after changing the hostname, after that I created two drive and mounted properly
when I try to create a ASM disk its failing with following error and idea

Help while creating ASM instance on rac environment on Linux

Help while creating ASM instance on rac environment on Oracle enterprise Linux 4 x84_64 Update 5 (10g2).
a) Installed ASMLib 2.0 Packages
b) Configured and Loaded the ASMLib 2.0 Packages
c) Created ASM Disks for Oracle
d) I can see, three volumes already defined for ASM file system.
By running following command (on both node), I get following that means disk are detected.
/etc/init.d/oracleasm listdisks
VOL1
VOL2
VOL3
But Disk members not displayed for creating disk groups. I even tried to "Change Disk Discovery Path" button and put "ORCL:VOL*" but still no luck.
Someone told me use, use ADD DISKS button but this button is disabled for me.
Can anyone, please help me if I missing something.

The system multiplies up the price by 10 & 10 and at that moment I transfer the shopping trolley it multiplies up again.
The price for 10 pallets was gladly to be 32720,50 - Buttttttttttttt it turns into 3.272.050.
Please help me in providing a solution for this

Perhaps you have to maintain field pricechangeable in BADi-InterfaceIF_EX_BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER in method - ENRICH_ITEM_DATA. This will make sure you can edit the price_

Automatic Creation of primary key at the time of creating entries

I have a requirement to generate the primary key automatically at the time of creating entries. I have managed to do so by writing an event code for the maintainance object in SE54.
However called only when I create entries throught the Maintainance View.
It does not get called when I write an insert statement in the program.
Please suggest a way to achieve this.

for assigning the primary key while using insert statement, write a piece of code to get the last pk value, increment it by 1 and then assign this value to the pk field of the next record while inserting. if you are using a fn mod to insert values, just have this piece of code right before the insert query. a better way would be to use a GUID which will be unique globally. there is a fn mod GUID_CREATE which you can use to generate GUID. i don't think there is a way to automate this while making entries using se11, unless you change the code that actually creates the entry in the database.

Cost Centre Derivation Issue at the time of PGI

Dear Experts,
At the time of Posting Post Goods Issue, SD Consultant is facing error that GL Account 6* requires assignment to a CO Object.
According to my understanding, system should derive Cost Centre at the time of P.G.I through following logic :
I have assigned Profit Centre : 999999 to the Cost Centre : ABCD and the said profit centre is being used at the time of Sales Order Posting. While doing PGI, system should derive cost centre data from Profit Centre Data which is used in Sales Order but currently system is not behaving like this.
Another way is to assign respective cost centres against COGS Gls through T-Code : OKB9 which is not right I think. Because how can we map Cost Centre Data with Profit Centre Data in order to get Profit Centre Wise Profitability Reports?
Please guide me any solution.

Hi Sapna,
For most cases, your COGS account should not be a cost element.
Secondly, if you want to make it a cost element, you will have to maintain OKB9 for it, either on the basis of profit center or plant.
System cannot pick cost center based on the cost center master data because there may be many cose centers assigned under the same profit center. There is no one-to-one mapping of cost center to profit center.
I would suggest you do not make COGS as cost element unless the sale order is an MTO sales order or business insists on it.
If business insists on it, then add the cost element to OKB9.

No. You have no alternative but to plug it into a computer running iTunes and restore it.

Create document numbers of POs at the time of creating

Hi gurus,
has anybody experience with creating the document numbers of purchase orders when the POs are creating??
I can change the purchase order number when the PO is saving or booking but at the time of creating?
I tried the extensions:
M06B0003 Number range and document number
M06B0004 Number range and document number
MM06E003 Number range and document number
, but they doesnt work.

hi,
This can be done by creating output type.
In that output type you have to declare a program or subroutine name.
Whenever you create a PO that output type will trigger,so the program also trigger.
In that program you have to write code for creating document number.
If its triggered PO document will be created.
