Issue in Bex Analyzer

Hi ALL,
As we have workbooks with 2-3 queries inserted, facing a problem with overlapping the results from 1st query to below one if we open the nodes in GL Hierarchy. We need to find a solution to dynamically push the below query down with respect to above query result area.
And also, To do this, you need to know the local queryID of each query.How to get local queryID
Please suggest on this .

Issue with Bex Analyzer installation

I am working on BI 7, I had install all the patches that r relevant to BI 7. My issue is I am not getting a drop down list when i select the open icon in the Bex analyzer and also getting the Java error when i run the web template in wad. Basis looked into this issue still they r not able to resolve.
Is any one faced the same issue pls let me know .

Ask him to installation MS-office bug fix patch : office2003-KB907417-FullFile-ENU, then analyzer Open will work.
I am also facing same problem I resolved with install above MS-Office patch.

RRI sending restrictions issue in BEx Analyzer - Known SP Issue?

We have two queries linked through an RRI interface that is designed to "send" a restriction of one characteristic when the user right clicks on the cell containing the value they want to see in the second ("Goto") query and selects "Goto" and the second query's name. This interface works fine on my machine with both my ID and the test ID the users are using to test these reports. My machine is on SP8, Patch 1 Revision 1443. However, when the users execute the same query and try the RRI they see the second query with all of the values in that column, not just the one they "selected". They are on SP7, Patch 1 Revision 1352. Is this a known issue with this version of Analyzer? I have been searching around and can't find any documentation saying so, but something "official" from SAP that documents this would be perfect to recommend and upgrade to SP8 to fix this problem.

Are you sure that all the data in cube is affected? I mean also the data loaded in cube before GUI upgrade?
I have a feeling that instead of GUI upgrade something happened to the background user that is extracting the data in source system. E.g. this user master data has changed - in decimal format.
So check the user and check data loaded before/after change of GUI.

Formatting issues in BEx Analyzer

Hello friends
I need your help regarding the following problem.
I have created a Workbook in BEx 04s which has 4 queries on multiple worksheets. Now I am trying to add one more worksheet with a query embedded in it through an Analysis grid. However the Query is dynamic as in the space occupied by it in the Workbook would vary depending on the variable selected. So, how can I format the worksheet in such a way that the dynamic space occupied by the query is formatted in a same way. The problem I am facing is that I format the query result in the BEx and save it but when I execute it again with a different variable, then the additional area occupied by the result is not formatted.

do you allready have tried to use Excel stylesheets? Change the ones starting with "SAPBEX" to your corresponding needs. It should work that way.

Authorization issues in Bex Analyzer

Hello,
Can somebody help me with an authorization challenge Im working on? For certain reports a user should me authorized to see key figures for a certain area and this area is divided into several units. This is the high level report authorization. But when they want to see more detail in the report (the can drill down the person responsible or the customer for example) the user is only allowed to see the key figures of his own unit. To make this possible we have created two authorization roles:

When executing the query with the characteristics area and unit in the rows and person responsible and Customer in the free characteristics there are no authorization issues. But when in the query result the user wants to drill down person responsible the error message You do not have authorization to read object XXX. I expected that the details would only be shown for unit 11. To be able to show the details the user must now first remove the drill down, filter the unit they have authorization for and then drill down the person responsible again. This is considered a workaround but not desirable. Is there a different way to solve this issue?

Have you tried to include a authorization variable on your report that filters 'Unit'?
I'm not sure of what will happen if you use it (maybe you'll always filter your report on '11' unit, or maybe you get different filter values depending on your drill down status, which is what you want).
It's just a thought...

BEx Analyzer: Formula Variable with Replacement path change Month with Day

Hi experts I'm facing this issue in BEx Analyzer.
I need to have some dates in format DD/MM/YYYY in Index Structure, in order to do this I've created a formula variable with replacement path referenced to 0CALDAY characteristic.
The formula works but it behaves in a strange way:
if the day is higher than 12 the displaied result is correct (DD/MM/YYYY)
if the day is lower or equal 12 the displaied result is wrong (MM/DD/YYYY)
I'm on BW 7.01 SP6 and BEx Analyzer 7.10 SP12, excel 2007.
anybody has faced this issue before?
any help will be appreciated

Hi Daniele,
This seems pretty strange. Pls. redo validation with the dump data, as being a flat struture BEx does not apply any logic changes. May be it might have been MM/DD/YYYY format as in workbooks. Else you may change the property of 0calday display as "Text". Business Explorer > Display > KeyMaster Data/Texts > Texts (Plese check this option). If you are using some text table you may maintain the same using BI0/TCALDAY (Similar to BI0/TCALMONTH2). Guess it should be an excel based issue; if not you may try the same in WAD/Report designer to verify the nature of the issue. If you don't face these inconsistencies in WAD/RD then you may change excel formatting options. Lastly, please let us know if the infoobject has some predefined settings in RSA1 > Infoobject > (BEx) Properites.

Bex Analyzer Amount not correct

Hi ,
I am facing an issue with Bex Analyzer. When I run a report from Query Designer on the web , the amount key figures displays as $772.97
However in Analyzer ,same amount displays as 0.00000773 . I
Any ideas?

BEx analyzer don't work move columns in report (like drill down)

    I have an issue on BEx Analyzer...    When I built one report... add some characteristics and soo on... but then I need to move the order of columns... then I try to drill down.. or move to order of column... It doesn´t work,
    I did this function before.. when the poin of the mouse it's convert with other draw... like -->

    But this time it's not possible...
    Then If I press the icon that say design mode... I saw that the option of navigation is active... and when I close the design mode... the functionality of move columns work...:(
    It's difficult that each time that the user need to move columns in Bex will go to design mode... just for activate..
    I know thta we have some function on context menu.. for move columns one by other... but not for certain position..
    Could you help me please?

Hi Alice,,
This happens some time, when i am unable to drill down by just dragging and dropping the columns. though i could not find out why. Best thing, what i do, i refresh the query and next time it works Ok.. and other th ing what you can do, right click, on the characteristics list on the left pane, go to "change drilldown", then " drill down by" there the user can select the option he is looking in for.

BEX Analyzer 3.5 Expired Certificate / Digital Signature

Hey Everyone,
Are any of you experiencing this? Expired Digital Signature issue for BEX Analyzer (sapbex.xla).
We are on SAP GUI 7.10 patch 8, and BEX 3.5 Add-On patch 4. When users
go to launch the BEX Anlayzer or open broadcasted reports, they get an
error saying Digital Signature is Invalid or has Expired.
This is because of the certificate that is provided with SAPBEX.XLA, expired on 3/6/09.
I looked into relavent notes 492364, and 929716 which come with older certificates. We do not want to enable macros completely.

Hi Imran,
After Opening your Bex analyzer or in Excel
Excel goto -- tools macrosecurity--Security level Tab --choose *Medium* option after setting this open your bex analyzer again you will get a pop up for *enable or disable macros* you can choose disable macros,
now you will be able to open the Bex analyzer and run queries
IF you are not still able to use or if you dont want *enable macro / disable macro* pop up then use
this setting,
Excel goto -- tools macrosecurity--Security level Tab -- choose Low option
you will not get any pop ups and you will get the select query option.
Hope this solve your issue.

Issue with status of data information in Bex analyzer report

Hi BI gurus,
One of the queries showing older date for the "status of data" information in the report of Bex Analyzer. I have tried to correct it in Bex analyzer by removing existing Text information element and adding a new Text element in the Bex Analyzer designer for the query. But it doesn't worked out as the changes made to the query through Bex Analyzer are only being saved as a local work book rather than reflecting to the query. Please suggest me with some options to resolve this issue and give any Idea to correct the "Status of data" in the Bex Query designer.

This is a common problem faced by users when reporting on Multi-Provider.
In my project what I did to overcome this is to run a Fake DTP to the cube whose status is creating problem.
Like , if under MultiPro I have a planning cube which is only updated monthly but all the actual cubes updated daily. In this case create a DTP under Plan cube with some impossible selection condition ( like fiscal year 2099). This will bring 0 records to planning cube ( and thereby not impacting the data) but will update the last loading time.

IP - Issues with Input Query: Works on Bex analyzer but not on Web

I am doing the following:
Created a Aggregation level for a multi provider which has only real time infoproviders associated with it
Created the query using Bex Query Designer availing all the options for planning
When I execute this query it executes using a web template and does not open up the Key Figure cells for input, I had tried using the Web Application designer with Save button but still the same issue
I tried the same on Bex analyzer and it works fine
Please help to resolve the above issue.

Hi Ram,
Cells should be input enabled on the web just running the query. No need to create a Webtemplate, altough you need to have the webtemplate to be able to use the "save data" function.
Maybe your query is not input ready at all, and you're misinterpreting analyzer layout.
To test this, please enter some plan data in analyzer, right click and choose "save".
Please check if data is written to the real time infoprovider.

BEx Analyzer: User ID based performance issue

Hello Ladies and Gents,
<b>The issue:</b>
My BW team just upgraded our system to 2004s and we are experiencing an odd userid based performance issue. If we run a query from the BEx Analyzer with user ID 'A' it takes about 3min for the variable selection screen to appear. If I log into the same machine user ID 'A' was using on my user ID B the query variable selection screen appears within seconds. What could possibly cause this?
<b>What we know so far:</b>
1. Investigated the security roles, seems like that is not the issue.
2. It is PC client independent. Two different user IDs(A and B) on the same machine running the same query in the same way (clicking through the BEx browser) produces different response times for the appearance of the variable selection screen.
Points will be rewarded and help will be greatly appreciated!

User specific personalization is retrieved before displaying the input variables. That might be a possibility, but hard to see it making such a difference. Do you always try the sequence of User A, then User B, or have you confirmed that when you start with User B, it is quick, and tehn slow whne trying User A?
Probably the best approach is to activate Trace and then logon with User A, turn trace off and print or save, then do the same thing for User B and compare. The trace will show you all the various SQL stmts and such that run as part of your trying to launch the query.
Please post back anything you learn.

BEx Analyzer for connection issue

Hi Everyone,
I received the following message while using RRMX transaction from SAP BI 7 system and unable to connect BI and BEx Analyzer. However, I am able to connect to BW system from BEx Analyzer when manually enter user id and password after this error. There is no issues in Dev, QA and has this issue in Preproduction system.
Verified with my colleague who have same SAP GUI 7.2, MS Excel 2003 versions and my colleague is able to conenct to BEx Analyzer successfully. Please advise.

BEx Analyzer Query Selection Variable Screen Issue

We are in the process of applying support packs to our system--BI7.01 and we are going from SP04 to SP10. After the application of support packs, when we execute a query (or a workbook with attached query), the query variable screen that normally appears does not, the query just executes without being able to filter/enter selection criteria.
We are using BEx Analyzer 3.5--long story about not upgrading to BEx 7.x. In our systems without support packs, the queries/workbook execute as expected. I've tried making a variable mandatory in one of the queries as a test and the selection screen then appears; however, we have hundreds of queries.
I've searched SDN and OSS and have found some similar issues, but not a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

BEx Analyzer 7.1 Issue after upgrade to MS Office 2007

We upgraded MS Office 2003 to 2007 and installed SAP GUI 7.10 (Patch 9). The OS is Windows XP (SP3).
We have also applied "BI AddOn Patch for GUI 7.10"
When we run BEx Analyser from Windows start menu or RRMX , we notice the error message: "A critical program error occurred. The program has to close. Please refer to the trace for further information".

This problem is solved.. We need to change the global settings in BEx Analyzer.. Following are the steps:
-     After executing RRMX, BEx Analyzer screen opens
-     Open Global Settings
-     Select u201CDefault Workbooku201D tab
-     Click u201CUse SAP Standardu201D
-     And then execute the query
