Issue in workflow mailer configuration

Hi all,
I have to configure notification mailer, for that I have an IP address of smtp server and an email username and password. Using these 3 details I can configure the mail in MS Outlook and send/recieve mails. When I give the same details in Notification mailer page, I am getting relaying denied error. Please help me in resolving this.
Our environment is R12.1.3 on AIX 6.1

  • Workflow Mailer Configuration...

I am configuring workflow mailer notification for sending notifications from oracle apps to email of the apps users. For this I have used organization's mail server(SMTP server) as the outbound server for sending the notifications. But this method is working only when the notifications are being send to the organization's corporate accounts.Whenever we try sending it to other mail accounts (such as,gmail or yahoomail) these notifications dont get delivered.Although, we can send mail from our corporate mail account to other mail ids. What i dont understand is why we cant mails from workflow mailer although its configured using the organization's mail server(SMTP)?

I suspect this is an issue with your corporate mail system and not WF Mailer, since mail to internal users is being delivered successfully. Can you pl check the value of the column MAIL_STATUS in table WF_NOTIFICATIONS for those notifications where email is not being received ? If the value is SENT, then WF Mailer was able to successfully hand off the email to the corporate email system, and it is this system that is not delivering to the external email id (yahoo, google etc). If this is the case, you will have to check with your corp email group to see if they can trace what is happening.

  • Issue in workflow mail-link while receiving on MS OUTLOOK

    HI All,
Weu2019re having an issue in the links send to approver via Workflow email.
The link being sent is as below :
    https://******.eu.*******.net:8443/3a_tm_approve?SAP-client=710&KEY=100001070610000480022463541A&RECID=000001461607&SAP-language=EN
Since the workflow canu2019t send link with more than 120 digits, weu2019re breaking the link into multiple parts.
    Part 1: https://******.eu.*******.net:8443/3a_tm_approve?SAP-client=710
    Part 2: &KEY=100001070610000480022463541A
    Part 3: &RECID=000001461607
    Part 4: &SAP-language=EN
The mail is defined in HTML.
Our client-(end-user) uses two application for email u2013 Lotus notes and outlook.
The above mentioned link works fine on Lotus notes, but is creating issue when received on Outlook.
    Issue :
When the mail is received on outlook u2013 A space is introduced in the link, due to which on clicking of link u2013 nothing opens up.
It seems that when the first line of link is generated a space is introduced after that.
    Solutions tried:
Weu2019ve tried to combine 3 variables into 1 and created link with just one line.
But this doesnu2019t seem to be working.
Any pointers towards the solution for Outlook will be really helpful.

a possible solution that we implemented is:
create a method or Function module, by using classes like cl_bcs, cl_document_bcs, to send any kind of email (with any length text, even markup, attachments etc) to outlook (you can see standard program BCS_EXAMPLE_5 for reference).
invoke this function module from within the workflow, instead of using standard "Send Mail" step.

  • Error in workflow mailer configuration - Inbound Email Server

    Hi
    I have Windows 2000 SP4.
I have installed Oracle Workflow 2.6.3 Standalone as below
I have installed Oracle Database 10gR1 and Oracle Workflow Server 2.6.3 in same oracle home.
I have installed Apache HTTP Server 9.0.4 and Workflow Middle Tier in the same oracle home.
I have finished installation and configuration successfully.
Now I want to configure mailer parameters.
I have started Workflow Component Container and Workflow Management Container.
When I try to enter paramters for mailer I get error in Inbound EMail Account Server Name.
The error says: Unable to make a network connection.
I do not want to configure Inbound Mail Server but I need to enter these parameters as they are mandatory.
I set Inbound Thread Count = 0 so that configuration does not consider parameters for IMAP server.
My mail server is SMTP server.
Any idea how to overcome this error and continue with notification mailer configuration?
    Thanks

You would need to modify all the parameters listed in this script. This script updates each of the mailer and agent listener parameter. You may edit the script to remove all API calls OTHER THAN those for "Workflow Notification Mailer".
Then update ALL the parameters for "Workflow Notification Mailer" with appropriate values with Inbound Thread Count to 0 and Outbound Thread Count to 1. Inbound Server Name, Account, Inbox, Discard and Processed values can be ignored. Make sure Outbound Server Name is valid SMTP Server name.
Values like From, HTML Agent should point appropriately as per your env.
    Hope this helps
    Vijay

  • Workflow mailer configuration only for APPROVALS

    Hi,
We need to configure Workflow Mailer for those where APPROVAL is required, means user don't want to receive any notification except than APPROVAL. Is there any way to do this .
    Thanks!

You can look into creating vacation rules that will redirect the FYI notifications from certain workflows to a dummy mailbox.
Try and see if that works.

  • How to configure oracle alerts to use Workflow mailer?

    Hello Guys:
We were trying to setup oracle alerts using workflow mailer. I have created a dedicated mailer for handling oracle alerts related mail.
Here is what I need to clarify:
    1. Having setup a new mailer for Oracle alert do I have to still configure the Options in Oracle Alerts. This is where you choose which type of mail u want to use ( like Unix mail,Windows NT mail )
2.How do I tell oracle alert to use the new mailer that I created exclusively for this? While creating the mailer at some point I remember putting ALR in configuration form.
    I am on 11.5.10 CU2. I am on 11i.ATG_PF.H
    Regards,
    Bala

    Hi Hussain:
Based on the note I realised that my oracle alerts will user unix sendmail. But then If u go to " Oracle Alert Options "
-- > Mail systems -- I check Unix send mail
-- > Mail server options ( Do I have to fill this section? )
My guess is that the send mail will post the email to a IMAP account ( I created oraclealert account ) and IMAP account will push the alert email to Recipient
    Mail Database/Server Name --- imap.mydomain.com
    Mail Priority --- Normal
    Accounts
    Application Installation username Password
Blank ** Blank ** oraclealert pwd
Blank ** Blank ** oraclealert pwd
** - It wont allow me to choose an application.
Is there a simple test to make sure that my oracle alert is working or not? I appreciate your help.

  • Workflow alert mailer configuration

    As per metalink note,
I configured workflow mailer like :
sendmail configured in the OS RHEL ES 4.0.
    1) under OAM-->workflow-->service components--> component details :
    added our smtp server
1a) added the test recipient as sysadmin which has got my email address defined in the application..
    2) I didnt set reply to address
and sent a test mail.. it failed saying that reply to address not valid.
    3) then under IMAP, added reply to address--> my address
and it is working fine.. but nowhere in the metalink note, they've mentioned that I should
add the reply to address under IMAP..
    is this normal ?..
in version 11.5.10.2, not necessary to configure Sendmail . Java notification mailer will take care of it..
can any1 throw some lite on this ?
    Thanks

  • Workflow Mail Template Configure

    Hello,
In the Workflow Mail Template Configure, we are attempting to discover if we can insert text between the single quotes.
I have a requirement where I need to edit the Approve/Reject/Request More Information in a mail template. The customer wants to have some texts populated in between the quotes in the "Rejection Reason" for the email Template.
e.g-: when click on Reject link form email, my requirement is to add a text mentioned below in italics. This will give the user instructions on what to do....many tiumers they see the single quotes and do not enter in the Rejection Reason.
    Approval Action: 'Reject'
Rejection Reason: ' insert rejection reason text here '
    Thanks in advance.

You can define a message attribute of type 'respond', then you can see a text field to enter your response comments.

  • Issue in sending mail to SAP Inbox from Workflow

    Hi All,
I need to send the mail to the creator of the document about the user decision. If i am executing the workflow through the event ( ouput type) , the workflow processing in SWIA is complete but the mail is not sent in the SAP Inbox. But If i try to manually execute the workflow, mail is sent to the SAP Inbox.
I've used WF_INITIAITOR in the Expression. I need to send the mail not to the approver but to the creator of the workflow.
    Thanks,
    Neha

    Hi,
the event is also triggered from my Id but in that case I do not recieve any e-mail. None of the users recieve the e-mail in the SAP Inbox for the mail step after the decision.
In workflow Log the last step shows the details as
name of the manager and the workflow background for mail sent step as shown below
Sumit Vij     Background work item created     10.01.2012     12:08:43
Sumit Vij     Execution started automatically     10.01.2012     12:08:43
Workflow Hintergrund     Work item processing complete     10.01.2012     12:08:44
    Thanks
