Issue logging into Gmail

I have a MacBook Pro with the current software and a new iPhone 5S.  I use both to access and use several Gmail accounts (personal and business).
Both Mac and iPhone Gmail were working fine until I started to get a login error message, "Username or Password Incorrect", using my MacBook Pro to access my business Gmail.  My iPhone 5S can access both personal and business Gmail accounts fine.  But, my MacBook Pro can only access my personal Gmail account and gets the above error message when I try to login / access my business Gmail account.
It is strange that I can use my business Gmail account on my iPhone, but now cannot access my business Gmail from my Mac.  I've tried using different browsers to no avail.  Any suggestions would really be helpful as our business network admin doesn't know either.
Has anyone had this problem? Any settings I can look at?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Eric, thank you for your suggestion; however, i had cleared the history earlier today, which didn't work. I signed in through a couple of browsers on my pc to see if there was any variability between the 2 accounts but there wasn't; and i opened and compared my 2 gmail accounts in safari on my pc to see if anything was different, one had the imap access enabled and the other didn't (the one i can't access from my ipad). i enabled it, cleared history again, and tried again - same thing, the account looks like it will load, it flashes on with a no new email (when there is as i sent some to myself!) and then it bumps to a please wait screen and then bumps right back out to the initial login screen. it's driving me nuts!

Update:  I was able to have the correct photo show in my email as received on my iPad2 by changing a setting on my IMac prior to sending the photo on the email.
On the iMac, I went into iPhoto > Preferences > Email photos using > Mail (in lieu of "iPhoto").  This seems to have corrected the issue.  I'm not sure why.  Now the correct photo shows up when received on my iPad2.

  • Can't log into gmail

When I try to log into gmail, it says...
"We've detected a problem with your cookie settings."
I'm running firefox 29 and, as far as i can tell, i have cookies enabled.

    Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Firefox crashes after logging into Gmail account

Firefox (ver. 26.0 German) crashes without being able to report the crash!
I have found another crash report on this, BUT I have more detailed information on this issue.
Crashing started to happen, after I changed the privacy configuration as follow:
1st: I changed the config. from "accepting thirdparty cookies" from "yes" to "never" and
2nd: from "keep cookies until expiration" to "until close firefox".
    Then I deleted all cookies.
From then, FF crashes when I'm loggint into Gmail, which is successful, but after two ajax/jquery "load()" calls (I can see the animation of reload icon twice!) FF crashes.
I was working with FF/Gmail before I changed the configuration, and everything was working well (I deleted cookies everytime I logged out of gmail). Nearby: I changed the configuration as there was only one Tab in one Window (my own static local startpage) open, and I was not logged in my Gmail account.
I have scanned (fullscan) my PC by "Kaspersky Internet Sec. 2014" (no malware found) +
I have scanned (fullscan) my PC by "Spybot - Search & Destroy" (no malware found) +
I looked into "Windows-Software" but there was no "BitGuard" +
I have deactivated all of Addons,
but FF crashes again and again.
When I change the config. to default, i.e. accepting thirdparty cookies and keeping them until they expire, FF does not crash anymore!
Hope this helps and has nothing to do with an NSA "feature/function" ;-)
    Kindly Regards,
    Pedram

The issue was not Gmail, nor Firefox, nor OS.
It was Bugfire plugin, which does not really stop tracking scripts!
I found and solved the problem by (step by step):
''(Please keep in mind that I am using German version, so some translations my not be 100%ly correct in FF English version!)''
    1. loggins as Administrator
    2. backing up the bookmarks etc.
    3. deactivating all Plugins
    4. unistalling all Plugins and modules ([[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-remove-add-ons|disable-or-remove-add-ons]])
    5. uninstalling Firefox in Windows (Start ==> System Control ==> Software ==> (rightclick) Firefox ==> "remove", "Yes")
    6. running explorer and navigate to "'''%tmp%'''" (without doublequotes!)
7.''' [CTRL + A] t'''o mark all temporary files and folders
    8.''' [DEL]''' to delete them
    9. Reboot
    10. Installing Firefox
    11. Testing Gmail -> it worked
    12. changed configuration of Firefox to: "accept cookies form thirdparties" ==> "Never", and "keep until:" ==> "Firefox closes"
    13. Restarted FF, logged into Gmail ==> it worked!
    14. Then I started systematically installing plugins, started by "Adblock Plus" etc. one by one. After installing every Plugin I restarted FF and could log onto Gmail successfully, except after activaten of "Firebug".
My question: will this report be forwarded to firebug, or do I have to report it to the firebug Team (this is my first reporting on this site)?
    Kindly Regards,
    Pedram Ganjeh-Hadidi

  • Some accounts on iMac unable to log into Gmail (OS X 10.6.4, Safari 5.0)

I have 5 accounts configured on my Intel iMac.
After upgrading to Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6.4), some of the accounts are unable to log into Gmail directly from a browser (not using the Mac mail client). It seems to time out. These accounts were not previously using the Mac mail client.
The accounts that previously used the Mac mail client can still successfully retrieve their Gmail via the Mac mail client, and they can still log directly into Gmail from a browser also.
Operating system: OS X 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard)
Program and version you use to access Gmail: Safari 5.0
Your antivirus software (e.g. Norton 2007): None
Any extensions, toolbars or plug-ins: None

    Hi,
Your antivirus software (e.g. Norton 2007): None
I hope that means you do not have Norton a/v software installed.
For Gmail. From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies. Delete all Gmail related cookies. Relaunch Safari.
If you still can't login to Gmail, open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities). Select Passwords on the left. Delete the Gmail keychain.
Relaunch Safari. Login to Gmail as you normally do with your user name and password. When prompted, click Yes.

  • How do I fix it so the ssl_error_access_denied_alert error goes away when logging into Gmail?

When I log into Gmail from Firefox, I get the following error:
An error occurred during a connection to mail.google.com:443.
Peer received a valid certificate, but access was denied.
    (Error code: ssl_error_access_denied_alert)
I've read the support forumn in Google support and none of the recommended fixes work.

In my case, I had to untick the "Use TLS 1.0" option in Settings - Advanced - Cypher - Protocols. Don't know exact translation into English, got Italian localization. Adding screenshot for reference.

  • Issue logging into the iPhone developer center

Here is what I have pieced together. First, I have opened up several tickets with support and I encourage all of you to open a ticket every time you get the error.
    • I am behind a corporate firewall & proxy configuration. I have IE 7 & FireFox 3 on both my desktop and laptop.
    • I have no issues logging into: MSDN, IBM, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, ebay, amazon, etc. the list goes on. This is literally the only place I am having issues
    • I can login to the iPhone dev center from a sprint wireless adapter on the laptop with no proxy or firewall (not a good thing for a corp laptop, but I did it to validate my hypothesis)
    • I cannot login consistently at home, where I have Vista, plus the standard arsenal of firewalls and routers with NAT.
    • A little research on the net revealed that there are many more, especially within corporate environments, that are having this issue.
    • It appears that there is a process that uses IP address verification (not confirmed, but that would not work well in a proxy/FW corp environement.)
    • Tech support provided me with the 1990’s standard fix approach to clear cookies and cache (huh???) if the iPhone dev center needs cookies and cache cleared (for real) then there is something very odd going on with the technology they are using. “1995 called and they want their standard browser fix back”
I am hoping that this can be resolved so that my developers can be productive at work rather than having to get to the dev center through creative and extraordinary means.

I think you should wait patiently for Orangekay to resolve this issue. Orange knows exactly what to do because he knows how important it is for big corporations to have the same access as kitchen table developers.
In the meanwhile please consider that Apple has given us the amazing gift of a World-wide distribution opportunity for independent developers, allowing some of us to actually own the apps we develop. Of course we can hardly wait for armies of cubical slaves to take this away from us. But why don't you take advantage of the opportunity yourself? Take off that silly badge and escape from the firewall once and for all. Unplug from the grid and join us.

  • Issue logging into gamecentre

I have an IPhone 5s, just got it today so very much a novice at this. Have logged into Game Centre, yet my game (Hay Day, if it's relevant) doesn't recognise it as being logged in. GC shows Hay Day as being one of the games, and shows my achievments.
I want to 'friend' myself (another account) but it just freezes when I try to send an invite, and my other GC account doesn't recognise this new GC account ID.
    What am I doing wrong??!!

    Try these things.
Go to Settings > Game Center. Tap your Apple ID to sign out, then sign back in.  Restart your iPhone.
    Source: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4314
If you are having difficulty logging in to Game Center or staying connected
Verify that you are connected to the Internet.
If you are unable to create or sign in to your Game Center account from within a game, try creating or signing in to your account using the Game Center app.
Try signing out of your Game Center account, then sign back in. If you can't sign in to your Game Center account with an Apple ID, try resetting your password or using another email address. To manage your Apple ID account, go to My Apple ID.
When using a Wi-Fi connection, verify that your Wi-Fi router is configured for Game Center.
If you are having an issue with a particular Game Center game
Ensure that you have the latest version of the game. Check for updates by opening App Store and tapping or clicking Updates.
Test your connection using a different game. If you can't connect with a specific friend or player in multiple games, they may need to check their Wi-Fi connection and router settings.
On iOS, try opening the game from the Home screen, rather than from within Game Center.
If you are unable to create or sign in to your Game Center account from within a game, try creating or signing in to your account using the Game Center app.
If the issue persists, or certain features of a game aren't working as expected (leaderboards, achievements, and so on), use the App Store to report the problem to the developer.
Report an issue with a Game Center game
Tap or click the app support link, located on the right of the app's information page in the App Store, beside the app name and description.
Use the developer-provided support website and resources to investigate known app issues or report your app experience.

  • Safari crashes when trying to log into Gmail

    Hello.
Does anyone else have this problem? Whenever I try to sign in to Gmail, Safari freezes (the little rainbow circle keeps going around) and I have to force-quit out of it.
I figured maybe I just need to reinstall Safari. I had Safari 1.3.1, but went back and re-installed version 1.2. When I tried to install the 1.3.1 update, it won't let me. The installation window is giving me the red arrow on the harddrive sign.
What do I do? I now have the older version of Safari than before and I still cannot sign into Gmail.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you.

    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    manja,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Safari 1.3.1 was released with 10.3.9. You can download and reapply the Mac OS X Combined Update 10.3.9, or you can use Pacifist to extract and install Safari 1.3 from the Combined Update package.
You should then be able to install in succession Safari 1.3.1 and Safari 1.3.2, and Security Update 2006-002 (10.3.9 Client).
If you run into Safari prohibitive installation problems, you may have to remove any Safari.pkg files from the Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts Folder and then reattempt reinstallation.

  • How do I stop Firefox from suggesting usernames when I am logging into Gmail?

How do I turn off the suggestions for usernames and other fields? When I log into an email account or enter information into a form, Firefox will suggest information based on what I've entered in the past. How do I turn this off?

Note if you do not wish to turn this feature off but only remove outdated or incorrect suggestions: then when you see the dropdown list, highlight the item, and use the keyboard delete key.

  • Issue Logging Into Router - Resetting Not Helping

Hello, I recently tried logging into my Verizon Actiontec MI424WR router and used the standard username and password supplied by the Verizon website, admin and the serial number. That didn't work so I tried admin and password. Also didn't work. I tried varying alterations involving adding 1 to the end, lowercase and uppercase, etc till I got locked out. So I reset my router and tried again with the default password and username. Still couldn't log in. I tried again until once again I was logged out. I ended up resetting my router three times and each time nothing changed, I couldn't log in with the default password and username. Can anyone help me to understand what I'm doing wrong and how to log into my router?
I always used the username admin, some of the variations of password I've used include:
    password
    password1
    password*
    PASSWORD
My serial number in caps lock.
    My serial number in lowercase
Thank you in advance anyone who can help me with this problem.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi, which exact router do you have?
The one with the red band and dual antenna's doesn't use those default passwords, they actually come shipped with a password and it's labeled as passord on the sticker.
the older units with a single antenna, use the Serial number of the router, found under the UPC bar code, and those are case sensitive.

  • Can't log into Gmail using Mac Mail client

Wow, after upgrading Lion for iCloud and upgrading my iPad2 for IOS5, I can no longer get Gmail on either one using Mac Mail as the client. I get a little triangular caution symbol next to the Gmail account in Mac Mail.  I tried deleting the account and recreating it, and when the account setup wizard tries to connect, I get the following:
"Logging in to the Google IMAP server "imap.gmail.com" failed.  Make sure the username and password you entered are correct then click Continue.  If the information isn't correct, you cannot receive messages"
This doesn't make any sense, since the account has always worked in the past.  Simultaneous to that, I have started having the same problem on the iPad, which never had trouble logging in before either.
    Anybody else encountering this?

  • How to log into gmail with default Mail app

So my gmail has a 2 step verification option to have it more secure, but the default mail app on my iphone 5S does not give me the option to give a second verification so I can't log in.
They continuously say my password is incorrect because of this...
Any way to fix this please?
    Ludwig Dory

After more googline I actually found the solution, I'll post it here in case anyone else has the same problem I had:
You have to go to the double verification setup in browser https://accounts.google.com/b/0/SmsAuthSettings and generate an app specific password, this is the only way it'll work.
